Remote only stores aux equipment to turn off, not on...

I can program the two separate Verizon remotes RC 144 5302/02B with my two different audio receivers, but they will not turn ON the devices once I turn them off with the remote.  The volume and mute buttons work, but this does me NO good to have to go and turn on the **bleep** receivers every time I go to watch television.

you also need to look at the manual for the remote because you have to program the volume keys.
I am assuming your using the four button universal remote., so this would be what you would want to do.
OPTIONAL: Reprogram How the Channel, Volume and Power Keys Operate
THE VOLUME KEYS
VOL+
, VOL- and Mute always control the TV volume even when you are in STB or DVD modes. (However, the Volume Keys will always control the AUX device when in AUX mode.) This is the way most people will want the remote to work. However, you can change how the Volume Keys work.
If you always want the Volume Keys to control the AUX device …
Some people may want to always adjust the volume using their AUX device (typically a home theater receiver) regardless of the mode they are in.
1. Press and hold the
STB key.
2. While holding down the
STB key, press OK.
3. Release both keys. The Device Keys will blink twice.
4. Press
9 - 5 - 5. The STB key will blink twice.
5. Press
AUX. The AUX key will blink 3 times to indicate success in programming.
Note: To return to controlling the volume via the TV, press
TV in step 5. If you want to control the volume through any device (by pressing a Device Key, then a Volume Key), press OK in step 5. This will also control the volume of your STB in STB mode.

You showed a kernel panic file from OS X, apprantly Log Me In is installed into OS X or running when you log in.
You should be using the developers installer/unistaller to remove Log Me In from OS X.
Somehow it's in OS X, I don't know, but it's there and you need to remove it. I'm not dealing with Windows, just OS X.
Talk to Log Me In people and find out what is installed where so you can do a manual deletion out of OS X.
If that doesn't work, you have to reboot holding the Shift key down manually search for any Log Me In or Himachi files on your computer, in your System/Library/Extensions folder too, use the free Easy Find.

  • HP 6735s, the battery is charged only if the laptop is turned off.

    Good evening,
my hp 6735s has the following problems:
1 - the battery is charged only if the laptop is turned off
2 - with the power supplier not connected to the wall outlet (I hope do you know what I mean) but
connected to the laptop turned off and with the battery inserted the led of the power supplier turns
on!!! It's like that the battery gives voltage to the power supplier!!!
3 - If I remove the battery and leave only the power supplier and press the power button the laptop tries to start, but only some led turns on for one second, then all turns off.
Any suggestion to resolve is appreciated.
Best wishes and have a happy new year.
    Emilio

    Try This!!!
First off, I'd like to say that HP SUCKS. It is ridiculous that many of you have wasted time and money to find a solution with absolutely no help from HP. Do yourself a favor and take your business to another company. OK, had to get that out of the way!
So here are the steps that worked for MY laptop:
Having your laptop running and plugged in, let the battery die at which time the screen will turn off.
Press the On/Off button until the laptop powers completely OFF. Be sure to leave it plugged in.
Wait a few minutes. You will notice that an orange light will turn on where the adaptor plugs in to the laptop.
Once this happens, wait a couple more minutes.
Finally, power up your laptop. You will notice that the power meter on the task bar will now read "Plugged In. Charging". Your laptop is now charging while ON!
I really hope this works for you. If it does and I saved you a headache and a few bucks, do something nice for someone!!!!

  • My 5Th Gen iPod (video) never hibernates nor turns off, not even manually.

I have a 5th Gen 30GB iPod (video) (2006-May). Last one year I used it without any trouble.
Very recently it started behaving wired. First I noticed this, when I found the battery gets drained out overnight everyday. Then I figured out that my iPod is not hibernating as it used to do, when not used for long. Then I tried to turn it off manually. I pressed and hold the play/pause button for more than 2 min, couple of times (as described in manual to turn off) with no results. I am using latest software both for iPod and iTune, also tried resetting it, wiping out all music and video, but no change in its behavior. My iPod simply refuses to shut down or turn off or hibernate; only when battery gets excused the screen gets blank after draining out all the battery. Apart form that everything works fine, it pays all music and video without any problem after a recharge, of course the charge does not exist more than couple of hours.
Please help if anyone know the reason and/or fix for this problem.
Dell-6000   Windows XP Pro   iPod - 5th Gen, 30GB, video, black. Used in Win-XP Pro

How to reformat specifically to Windows FAT32? I get only one button "Restore" in the iTunes summery tab when I connect the iPod. After clicking the button it gives me a yes/no option. On yes it goes ahead with the restore operation with progress bar etc.
The problem is, in the connected mode it behaves correctly and turns off momentarily by pressing and holding play/pause button, but comes back with the charging/charged logo. Which is normal. Now at this point if I disconnect, the screen gets white for some time and then turns off.
But when not connected through the USP port (i.e. with the battery only mode) it refuses to turn off, even if I press and hold the play/pause button, also does not hibernate as it used to do previously.

  • I lost all of my notes after turning off notes

I accidentally turned off notes for one of my email accounts and lost all the notes, but when I turned notes back on the notes did not come back. I changed the default notes thing too if that matters at all.

If you backup with iTunes and you restored from the backup and the notes were gone, then there is no where to retrieve them from unless you have another backup that contains those notes.
Launch iTunes on the computer and go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices. You will see a window with all of your backups listed in it.
If you see a recent backup that you are certain contains the notes that you need, recover deleted notes from iPhone backup.
I think the suggestions might be of use to you.

  • When I click sleep, Imac turns off not just sleep

When I click sleep, Imac turns off not just sleep. Any fix?

    Hi Hank,
    Some things to try...
Have you done a PRAM reset, CMD+Option+p+r...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379
In fact, do 3 in a row, takes a bit of time.
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
(SMC reset=  Shut down, disconnect power cord for 10 seconds, reconnect power cord, wait 5 more seconds, turn computer back on)
but it is slightly different:   (PMU REST = Shut computer down, disconnect power cord for 10+ seconds, reconnect power cord WHILE SIMULTANEOOUSLY PRESSING POWER BUTTON, let off power button for a few seconds, then press power button again to restart the mac mini.)
Can also be caused by USB or Firewire devices.

  • ITunes stops playing and cannot connect to Remote app whenever the computer display turns off??

I have a Windows system with iTunes, and an iPhone with the Remote app installed, through which I use to play music on iTunes. Until recently iTunes would play regardless of whether my monitor was on or not, and I could connect to iTunes with the Remote app regardless of the monitor state. Now, however, after updating both iTunes and Remote with the new versions that came out around the time of the iPhone 4S release, whenever my computer turns off my monitor, iTunes stops playing at the end of the current song and the Remote app cannot find iTunes. This is not a system sleep state, I just have the power options set to turn off the monitor after 15 minutes of inactivity. Sleep and hibernate are disabled on the system and always have been, expressly for the purpose of allowing iTunes playback via Remote. If I jiggle the mouse and the system turns the monitor back on then I can manually reenable playback, and Remote can connect to iTunes again. I can't find any setting in Preferences that would control this. How do I fix this? Thanks.

I'm so glad someone else is having this problem.  I am in exactly the same situation!
    1. Windows Vista
    2. Upgraded iTunes to 10.5 and upgraded remote with iOS 5
    3. My computer has never been set to sleep, but the monitor turns off after 20 mins.
    4. If the monitor goes to sleep, itunes stops streaming music and Remote can't connect to it
    5. If I change my monitor off time to 1 hour, then in 1 hour itunes will stop streaming - it is ABSOLUTELY connected to the monitor sleeping.  Almost like iTunes can't connect to the network the the monitor is off.
Please help!  I have been using remote for a year and this didn't happen until I upgraded to iTunes 10.5.

  • PS4 turns on for split second then turns off (Not BLOD)

My PS4 was purchased via preorder on launch day here in South Africa - Friday 13th December. After working for 2 days,it now fails to turn on. I've read about the blue light of death that just pulsates continuously but what I'm getting is a beep and blue light for less than a second before it turns off completely with no light.
If I then press or hold the power button again, I get nothing. I have to unplug it from the wall and replug it in and then if I press the power button again, it does the same as before - beep and split second blue light before going dead. Here is a video I took of it:http://t.co/VIrDS9KI1G I can't get into safe mode. If I try to hold the power button down, it just does the same as above. It doesn't stay powered long enough to reach 7 seconds. I've also tried removing the HDD and booting without the HDD in to try and force safe mode but again, it does exactly the same as above. I've tried using different plug points and adapters that I know work and I've done so with no other devices plugged into these points or adapters. In my highly amateur opinion, it feels like a power supply issue where power is cutting practically immediately.

It's a power issue, I've noticed this because I was moving my PS4 from downstairs where I tested it, to my gaming room where it'll live FOREVER! lol... and the power was unplugged, but I touched the button as I lifted the console. It beeped as if it was going to come on, then because it had no power it just went off again. Just like you describe. So the console is acting like it does when it has SOME power, but not enough in my opinion.
Once I got it upstairs and plugged in the power, it came on and all was ok.
    I recommend:
Giving the PS4 ITS OWN PLUG SOCKET, don't plug it on a multi-adapter where it's power might be shared/weakened.
Give the PS4 a moment of being plugged in so it can store enough power to turn on.
Make sure your cables are all good,

  • My iPod Touch 4 generation drained while turned off not on standby

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I am new to iPods and up to this past weekend my iPod was working great. So after fully charging it I shut it off but when I woke up in the morning and turned it on the battery was at 35% Then I downloaded the latest update and I noticed that the battery has been draining faster than usual. I shut of every app that was running and it still drained quickly.
This iPod is only a little over a month old.
Any ideas what could be wrong?

You said after a full charge you turned it off and then later after turning it on it was at 35% battery. Did you really power the iPod off? ( Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the red slider
appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPod touch) or did you jut put it to sleep? If you turned it off then you have a problem. However, it it was asleep then battery can drain when asleep after the recent updates since the updates allowed the iPod to do thins when asleep like get mail and other things.

  • Computer randomely turns off-Not over heating

So, my laptop will just randomely turn off.  I took it in thinking it may be a hardware problem.  Supposedly everything checked out fine and they said it was my OS.  So I oreded the recovery disks and reformated.  It ran fine off the disks until it came to the point where it had to finish the recovery via the hard drive.  Now that it is running off the hard drive it started randomely turning off again.  Since the OS hasn't even been fully restored to the computer I can't even run the computer in safe mode.
Is it my hard drive which was said to be fine?  Or could it be something else?  Oh, and I don't believe it is overheating because it won't stay on for more than 5 mintues and sometimes not any longer than 1.

First and foremost, make sure you are on 1500VA UPS. Second, that there is nothing on the same circuit that would draw or interfere, best if nothing else is on the same breaker.
Summer storms, we've been racked so hard the house shook and everything I have is on UPS - TV and even most lights. But sometimes it is possible to have a "power event" that you won't yourself see or notice but enough to affect a computer. Not that it was what caused this, but a UPS is good investment to protect your modems, along with computer equipment. And never have to reset the VCR again hopefully.

  • HP envy problem will sleep, turning off, not saving any changes

After the update to windows 10, my hp envy totally sucks. Its not going in sleep. When I choose sleep mode, only the screen turns off; rest all system remains active and it wont turn back on.

    Hello mistyb1,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with the printer not waking up from Sleep Mode.
I do have a few suggestions that we can try.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Once you have the printer connected to the wall outlet, please use the ON/OFF button to do a proper power cycle.  This will do a Semi power reset on the printer.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.
    Thanks for your time.
