Remote problem

hi everyone!
the last 3 days i spent figuring out, how to get my iphone back on my desktop's itunes library, i hope, someone can help me
my whole story:
everything worked perfect. after updating to os3 i had these strange wifi-problems. i brought it back, and after 4 weeks i got a new one back. everything seemed perfect again, but then i then i tried to start connecting via remote, but my iphone just shows up on my laptop.
because this was the only reason to change my iphone, i seriously tried everything, to make it work again. so i checked firewall settings, router settings, re-installed itunes, and then the whole computer.
now in win7 i had the same problem, so i again checked a lot of preferences, but did not suceed.
i am using a thomson cable router, getting my ip adresses automatically and have ssid/wpa2 running.
however, i hope someone can help me getting my phone back to my standard desktop.

Have the same problem since I updated iTunes to version 9 (and sup.) and iPhone OS to version 3 (and sup.).
I can enter the code on iTunes, then after telling me I can remote control my iTunes from my iPhone, I cannot connect and allways have the same message "can't find the library".
What I've already done :
- completely reinstall my computer
- deactivate Windows firewall and Base Filtering Engine, then restart it
- deactivate my router firewall
- deactivate any filter on my router, then reboot it
- delete Remote from my iPhone, reboot it, then reinstall Remote, and reboot again
- activate library share on iTunes
- activate public folders share on Windows
- remove sim card to be sure to use wifi, and only wifi
- enter the 4 digits code on iTunes (worked)
- still the same message on iPhone : can't find the library
I've seen many posts saying that the computer needs to been wifi connected, and not via Ethernet. Is it true ??? It perfectly worked with older versions of these programs, why would Apple have made a change like this ??
Anyone with an idea ???

Remote problem - no skipping songs?

hello all,
I've been really enjoying my dashy looking iPod Hi-Fi, but since I updated my iPod this afternoon I can't get the remote to work properly!
It still responds when I up/down the volume, but it won't skip any songs or jump to previous ones (the indicator does turn green though).
Ideas anyone?

It could be your iPod having the problem instead of HiFi.
I had the same experience with my 60G Photo but not my Nano when I plug it with my HiFi, until I did the Erase for my 60G iPod (under the disk utility)with the security option of zero out data, which took about 1-2 hours to complete. Now it works as a charm
If you have another iPod, you can have a try - to confirm whether it is the problem of your HiFi or your iPod.

TV @nywhere master - infared remote problem

I bought the card a few days ago and it runs perfectly fine. I installed the latest software from the MSI site. The only thing is the remote doesnt work. Doesnt respond at all. Ive tried reinstalling the software, unplugging the reciever and re plugging it back and replacing the batteries on the remote and nothing solved it.
I cant figure it out, was just wondering if i could get some help please.

I'm sure KT just misread the posts. I have the advantage of hindsight; at the time of posting he didn't.
Good luck with resolving your problem. Before you go out and buy a new power supply though expecting to resolve your problem, I would investigate the software end a bit more.
I may sit down and play around with my remote control and get a better understanding of how it works. If I run into anything else that might be useful, I'll be back.

Toshiba tv 37av502u and comcast remote problems.

Hi, I have a toshiba 37av502u and I am having problems getting the codes for the silver/gray remote to work the volume and power. Some of the codes will briefly only work volume up and power. Then nothing. TV remote still works fine, but need proper code and maybe a better procedure? Of course you know comcast is no help at all. Batteries are good.

Unfortunately, Toshiba doesn't know what codes will work for a third-party remote. They're not preset codes that Toshiba specifies.

[Athlon64] RS482M4-ILD MCE remote problems

Built a htpc based on the RS482M4-ILD which is working great. The only problem I've got is that when the board is brought out of S3 standby using the MS Media Centre remote, it stops working - its like the USB ports aren't being re-initialised properly, The only way to get the remote working again is to unplug it and re-insert it.
Any ideas?

Known issue with ATI southbridge USB failure in suspend. No fix yet from ATI. Its an ATI problem - its specified in release notes for mb chipset /igp driver

ISight, Front Row and Apple remote problems

I've been using my iMac G5 with the built in iSight for a month now with no problems, however a few days ago I tried to pause iTunes with the remote and nothing happend.
I have since tried to use Front Row and cannot launch it with the keyboard shortcuts, or indeed, find it anywhere on my hard drive. Very strange as I have certainly not deleted it and only updated it to 1.01 recently.
I have also tried to use my iSight to test the remote using an Apple help sheet but when I launch iChat AV it tells me I have no camera installed! I know it did work as I took a photo of myself when I first set the Mac up.
Apple's advice on deselcting the 'Disable remote control infrared receiver' checkbox in 'system preferences>scurity' confuses me further as I cannot find this checkbox anywhere.
I have performed all the updates with Software Updat, repaired permissions and checked the disk with no problems found.
Any advice?

iMac G5 Mac OS X (10.4.4)

Front Row will be included with the next version of Mac OS X to come out next year, version 10.5 (Leopard). Until it's released, there is no legal way for you to use Front Row. Also, until it's released, we won't know what hardware will work with it (as far as remote controls). If history is any indication, it will be a $129 upgrade for your current Mac mini.
There are a couple of options for you right now, though. There's a shareware program called Media Central that will work similar to Front Row for you.

NAC OOB L3 remote problem

Hi All,
I have remote site with above design. "login" is gray out in CAA. I run tcpdump on NAS, and I saw packets are hitting eth1 on NAS. In NAM, I got this error message "Unable to process out-of-band login request from [00:00:00:00:00:00 ## 10.111.18.3] Administrator. Cause: MAC address of 10.111.18.3 not found.".
any idea would be very appreciated. if you need more information, please let me know. it's kind of urgent.

I am pretty sure SNMP is right. switch has been added to NAM successfully. so there is no SNMP issue. I have this problem for the users in remote location only. users in local location can login without any problem.
any suggestion would be appreciated.
I am using 500 Express switch in remote site. is it causing the problem?

IOS 5 and the keynote remote problems.

After updating to IOS5, the keynote remote on my iPod touch (4 gen) does link with keynote on iPad 2. Can only link over wifi. The Bluetooth link worked perfectly before update. I have tried all options I can think of, such as hard restart, restore on both devices. Can someone help.

I reported the problem on itunes as scubidoobie suggested. The reply I received was not helpful at all. They recommeded consulting the Apple support page for keynote remote, which is where I started in the first place. I agree that we should all bombard Apple via itunes about this problem (see scubidoobie's reply) and get them to fix it.
I found a workaround on another posting, which is clumsy but worked for me. It may be a solution until Apple updates the remote. The idea is to use another app that can link the 2 devices by bluetooth.
1. Get Pic transfer lite (free app) and install on both ipad and iphone (or ipod touch).
2. Activate bluetooth on both devices.
3. Launch keynote on one device and the remote on the other device.
4. Launch pic transfer on both devices and follow the prompts to sync bluetooth
5. Now double push the home button on both devices to pull up the multi-tasking bar
6. Open keynote and keynote remote on the relevant devices.
5. In keynote, go to settings, advanced, remote. You should now be able to link the remote - on the device running the remote, you may need to hit settings and then 'new keynote link'.

IPhone 3GS and Nike+ Remote problems

I've been using my Nike+ Sensor and Nike+ Remote watch with the iPhone 3GS and have noted problem. (I also have an 4th Gen Nano which works flawlessly with this kit)
The fast forward and reverse buttons work to "skip" to the next song or podcast, but have lost the functionality to hold them down a FF through the song or podcast.
Anyone else have these problems?

The spoken feedback problem must be a bug. It happens to me sometimes and it can be fixed by either turning the phone off and back on or resetting it.

IPod w/Video REMOTE problems

The menu button on my new remote does not apper to work with the new universal iPod dock. The other buttons do work.
Anyone run into this problem?

This is normal. It works with Front Row on the new iMac. If you want to use the remote without leaving the couch, put your videos in a playlist. Once you start a playlist, you can move forward and back among the various videos with the remote.

I have Remote installed.
I open it up, connect to WiFi netowrk (AirPort express) in which my MacBook is connected to. It can detect iTunes' presence, and entering the security code is not a problem. The device appears under the devices menu, and it says "Your Remote is now able to control iTunes". When I go to connect to it, it says "Could not find <My name>'s Library".
Are there any settings I need to tinker with?

This happened to me using Vista. It would let me add the remote using the code, but then it would search for the library and then give up.
It would let me connect once fine, but if I put my iPhone in standby it would then never connect again. I checked the firewall and iTunes was an exception as you'd expect, but still nothing. I turned the firewall off, which 'worked' but this was not an ideal option!
*As a last ditch attempt I repaired the Bonjour software.*
*Control Panel > Programs & Features*
*Right click on Bonjour and REPAIR. Only took a minute, then REBOOTED.*
Now it's working perfectly.

Inspire T5400 Remote problem

Hello everyone, I bought two (or three?) years ago a Creative Inspire T5400 which is really usefull and enough for my little flat ;-) By the way, i just let a lot of times my wired remote on the ground, it even fell down as often The problem is that now, it's broken :'( Can I order one somewhere? I'm from belgium and i dont see stores in my country. How much would it cost?Thx 4 replying !!!!!

Itouch remote problem

I have a Itouch that i have downloaded the apple remote on to it to control my itunes library. When i open the remote app i can see all my playlist and artist on the screen put whben i select a playlist or any artist it doesn't show any songs. I have a iPad that works fine with the remote amp. If i select any songs on the ipad or on the itunes it will show feedback on the Itouch and i can do next, prev song and select apple TV or airport express setup. I have seen this happen on a couple different Itouch recently on different networks and both using MAC and windows 7 computers just wondering if there is a way to fix this problem.

Apple TV and Remote Problems using Airport Extreme

Had issues with power outage last summer just recently got back to resetting airport extreme , and now my apple remote does not work evan after changing out battery's for my apple TV . The TV comes up trying to set date and time and never makes a connection, so Im unable or unaware of another way to get to the apple settings to check settings.

The fist problem is date and time.
Assuming this is not the first time you have used your Apple TV
You might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Also try restarting the router.
If the problem persists, try a restore, you may want to try the previous procedures several times before doing this.
If this is a new Apple TV, it may also be that your network router is not allowing access to the timeserver, check that your router allows access over port 123
Once you get that sorted you can look to sort your remote.
Your Apple TV may have become paired with another remote. Hold the remote close to and pointed at the Apple TV, hold down the menu and Rewind buttons together for 6 seconds or until you see a broken chain icon on screen.

I have seen problems before with very similar symptoms that telnet did work from inside but did not work from outside. In most of these cases it turned out to be a problem in the way that address translation was configured. I suggest that you change the access list used to select traffic for address translation.
