If you're running 9926 then you're not installing the correct version. If
you expand the Details section you'll see that version was published last
October. You'll need this one, which was published in at the end of
January:

Unable to install Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 8 Release Preview on RTM 8 Enterprise
    Standalone installer available here
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=28972
    fails with error code 0x80004005
Is this because my installation has issues, or would the admin pack files be updated for RTM?
Thank you in advance for any insight

    Found the solution here:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w8itprogeneral/thread/6d8745e0-c4c1-463a-b4bb-09f6c9c22527
    Workaround:
Download the RSAT package intended for Windows 8 Release Preview: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=28972
Extract the .msu file with a tool such as 7-Zip.
Open an Admin command prompt and change directory to where you extracted the .msu.
Run the following command to install (if x86 you probably have a different .xml filename): pkgmgr /n:Windows6.2-KB2693643-x64.xml
Wait a while. You can look in task manager for pkgmgr. When it disappears, the installation is done.
Use the tools as per usual.

  • Server Administration Tools for Windows 8

I've been trying to download/install Server Administration Tools for Windows 8 on my Win8 RTM box. regardless of what version of Server Admin tools I try to install I get the same error:
I've been getting the download from

    I've also tried

Any suggestions? I know this is quite vague, which is why I don't know how to go about figuring it out, so if you have any leading questions please feel free to ask!

Install the tools, saying; "The update is not applicable to your computer".
Then I followed the instructions available on the same page, but there in Turn windows feature

  • Unable to create a clustered VM using Remote Server Administration Tools - Failover Cluster Manager

    Hi
I am using two Hyper-V Server 2012 R2 and a single WS2012 Datacenter Edition with GUI Interface for management purpose.
I have installed Failover Clustering feature on these two Hyper-V servers and remote server administration tools for Failover Clustering on WS2012 DC Edition with GUI.
I have created cluster using powershell cmdlets on Hyper-V server because I was unable to create a cluster using RSAT-Failover Clustering (May be some privileges issues).
The problem is " I am still not able to create a Hyper-VM using Failover Cluster Manager on WS2012 DC Edition server". It gives me an error "Invalid operation"
Any Help regarding this issue will be very appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance.....

Thanks Tim for your response but atleast I should be able to create and configure VMs for high availability.
I think this is not the issue which I am facing. It gives me an error "invalid class". There is something missing.
Please check and let me know if it can be solved. Any help will be really appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks
    Zelgay Kunari

    Hi zelgay,
    This is my result:
From your error code, it seems this is relate to your windows update, please use following command to fix corrupted files:
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
In the meantime, you can delete temporary update files in the SoftwareDistribution folder:
    Stop Windows Update service.
    Open File Explorer.
Double-click the local hard disk where Windows is installed, typically drive C.
Double-click the Windows folder, and then double-click the
    SoftwareDistribution folder.
Double-click the DataStore folder to open it, and then delete all files and folders in the folder.
Note If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click the Back button. In the SoftwareDistribution folder, double-click the
Download folder to open it, and then delete all files in the folder.
    Restart Windows Update service.

Any help on this issue would be appreciated, if you need any further information please let me know.
    Thanks

    SeniorInternet,
I’ve seen this issue in the past and it occurred because the file was corrupted.
It’s possible that something went wrong when downloading it originally on your newly upgraded machine.
    Try downloading
KB2693643 again from another machine and install it.
    Hope this helps!

  • Can't enable Remote Server Administration Tools

I have seen many people around the net having what seems to be this issue, but there are a few nuances that differ in my particular situation.
I have 2 'Windows 7 Sp1' machines on an AD domain.  Functional level is 2003.
I downloaded and installed "Windows6.1-KB958830-x64-RefreshPkg.msu" on both PCs and the installation seemed to finish without errors, but when I go to enable the features it throws the error: "An error occurred, not all the features were successfully
    changed."
I came across a solution that claimed I needed to reinstall the KB, I did so to no avail.  I thought perhaps my download might be corrupt, so on the 2nd machine I downloaded directly to that PC, but got the same behavior.
I doubt that it is Group Policy related, because other machines (although they're XP) are in the same OUs as these machines and can run the admin tools.  <Users are members of a Help Desk & frequently reset certain users' passwords.>
I'm not sure what to do next, especially since both of these computers are acting the same way.

    Hi,
Please go to event log to check more information about this operation, you could find something under Windows Logs---Setup log.
According to your description, I suspect there would be some common issue existed in your both Windows 7 computers. Just boot into clean boot mode to check if you can turn on Remote Server Administration Tools components. This will avoid the software conflicts
    during configuration.

  • DHCPMGMT.MSC in Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) won't remember DHCP server

I'm running Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and I've noticed that when I run the DHCP Management tool (DHCPMGMT.MSC) and I add our DHCP Authorised server then close the console, it forgets the DHCP server and I
have to re-select it next time I use the console.
On the other hand, the DNS console remembers that I've used a particular DNS server even after I close the console.
Wondering why the DHCP Management console is so forgetful?

Where there's a will there's a way. Here's what I did because it annoyed me so much to have to re-add the server each time.
    1. Open the DHCP Managment console in author mode using the following command:
    mmc /a c:\windows\system32\dhcpmgmt.msc
    2. Add the server(s) you want to see
    3. Click File > Save As...
    4. Save the .msc console in the c:\windows\system32\ folder with a unique name like dhcpmgmt2.msc (don't use the old name: dhcpmgmt.msc)
    5. Edit your adminstrative menu shortcut by:
           a. Browsing to Control Panel >
Administrative Tools (you may have to change the view to small icons to see all items).
           b. Right click on DHCP > Choose
    Properties
           c. Change the Target to:
    %windir%\system32\dhcpmgmt2.msc
(be sure you point it at whatever you named the new DHCP console my example was dhcpmgmt2.msc)
    Cheers-
    Josh

  • Remote Server Administration Tools Win7 to Svr20212R2

Can be done, and works.  Functionality is reduced, however.  See—http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/439904-windows-7-remote-server-administration-toolkit-rsat

I was wondering, is it possible to use Remote Server Administration Tools to access a server running Windows Server 2012 R2 on Windows 7 Pro? Last I heard it was NOT possible. If not, is there anyway to do it another way other than RD? I would like to administer my server from my computer rather than using the KVM or RD. Thanks!

You are correct, I didn't scour them enough, it's been hard to go through so many relating to the technical preview I guess I got a little lazy.
I hear ya there. With the Win10 release, it's been rather busy for sure.

Has anyone received any information on when RSAT for the final release of Windows 10 will be available? I have scoured everywhere, not seeing when this might be released. I am eager to get all testing done and rollout to a couple of users for further testing before rolling it out to everyone.

If I run .cmd file from SCCM client as administrator it works, but I have to push in environment for hundreds of machines and somehow its not running with elevated administrator rights..
Spend lot of time but getting nowhere..
I would greatly appreciate if anybody could provide me any clues
Same commands worked before for Windows 732bit machine but not it fails on x32 and x64 bit both.

Thank for quick reply, I have already deployed  RSAT successfully
I installed PSTools on test machine and
Used "psexec -i -s cmd" to open a cmd in system context manually and copied .bat script to c:\windows\system32 and run from command prompt, it works fine on test machine..
But how would I implement it using SCCM because our client machines doesn't have pstools?
Please provide more details Torsen I haven't deployed apps using psexec so far..
    RJ
There's no need to "deploy" using psexec - use psexec as a method to verify the scripts/commands are valid and functional when executed in the LocalSystem context (because LocalSystem context is exactly what ConfigMgr is using when you tick "run
    as admin").
    So, that worked.
How are you packaging/launching this via ConfigMgr?
    Are you using "package" ?
Are you using "run command line" ?
    Or AppModel/Application ?
Maybe, you are using run-command-line, or package-without-source - if so, I guess that your script is trying to run from UNC off the DP and this is what DISM is objecting to?

  • Oracle Business Intelligence Administration Tool for Windows

I am having issues installing Oracle Business Intelligence 11g Client on Windows 7 32 bit.
This is how we set up our server:
    - OBIEE 11g Server is installed and configured in RHEL 5 64bit.
(We have installed and configured Oracle Database, RCU and the OBIEE)
    - Our users are working on a Windows 7 32 bit and they are the one who will be accessing the BI Server.
I have come across a bunch of information regarding our setup. I am sure that our BI Server is working properly as a matter of fact, we can now use Oracle Warehouse Builder of the BI Server.
According to Metalink Doc Id: 417656.1, OBIEE Tools are only available in Windows platforms. I beleive this is the reason why we only configured OWB in our BI server (which is in RedHat) and we cannot find a way to configure OBIEE Admin Tools. But when I read the doc id, it applies to 10g versions of BI Server, what about 11g? Is there a way to configure and use OBIEE Admin tools from the BI Server in Linux?
Also, according to the official docs:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/bi.1111/e10539/c4_installing.htm#CEGEHEJF
4.6.1 Installing Oracle Business Intelligence Client Tools
"..If you installed Oracle Business Intelligence on a computer running a Linux, UNIX, or 64-bit Windows operating system, and you want to use Oracle Business Intelligence client tools, you must perform the following additional steps..."
So in my own understanding, this fits our current setup. Is this the correct solution so we can access OWB of the BI Server and use BI Admin tools from our 32 bit windows?
Also, I have read many bloggers and users having issues in Windows 7? Following the official docs i pasted here which has steps 1-3, is Windows 7 supported by Oracle Business Intelligence 11g?
Any help, confirmation (with credible basis) and further questions about this issue will be very much honored. Thanks a lot!

    Hi ,
Oracle BI for CC&B has few Standard(Demo) reports packaged with this software for example CI_CSEOPN (Case by Type and Age), If we need to know the logic of this report where do we find the information as the code for this report is not user friendly which is mainly stored as functions and not understandable, Please let me know if you have any information to get the logic of this report.
    Thanks

  • BootCamp made for Windows Vista would not install in WIndows 7

    Hi,
I am trying to install Bootcamp drivers on Windows 7 with the Mac OS CD that came with my Intel-based iMac. The problem is that I bought my iMac when the latest Windows was Vista, and it would not install on Windows 7. The Bootcamp drivers for Windows 7 on Apple Support pages are "UPDATES" that require BootCamp 3.0 already installed in Windows. However, I cannot install BootCamp 3.0 in the first place, because it would be installed only on Vista. What should I do to have BootCamp installed on my Windows 7 so that I can set the default booting OS to be Mac OS again?

Just an idea for you. There is an entire Apple Discussion forum dedicated to Boot Camp and Windows.
Whereas, not everyone here with an Intel iMac has installed, tried to install or has experience with BC & Windows, everyone there has or at least has an interest. You may attract help more quickly there.
    The Forums are at the bottom of the main Apple Discussions page under Windows Compatible Technology. Here is a link;
