Remote User Administration
Hello,
I'm brand new to BO Enterprise XI 2.
We have an application that manages the approval and provisioning of user accounts for several applications. I need to be able to connect to CMS and add users, reset passwords, etc. The application is written entirely in Perl. With version 6.5 I can use the supervisor.exe with rexec to manage this, but XI 2 is much different.
I have the SDK installed on Solaris (my application's server). Now I'm at a loss as to how to use it - make connections to the CMS, execute addUser, or anything. Are there examples avaialable using Perl to do this?
Anything to get me going would be a great help.
Mike
can you post the sample of your perl code.. i'm interested on how to do this w/ Perl..

Report on remote users mapped drives
After a very thorough search, I can't find anyone else who has had this question answered.
I have a need to on-the-fly report on the mapped drives and their letters of users on remote computers. Running "Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_MappedLogicalDisk | select Name, ProviderName" only returns my drives under my credentials, not the remote user. Looking
at HKU:\sid\network apparently only reports persisent mapped drives or drives mapped by the customer and not drives mapped by logon script that are not persistent.
There doesn't seem to be a way to do this on-the-fly which is dissapointing, so I'm hoping you'll have a trick up your sleeve!
The only way I can figure to get the information, but not on the fly, is to have a logon script run as the user and grab the info and save it somewhere. I'm really hoping not to resort to that. All of that becomes historical info and won't reflect changes
that happen after logon, so it's not going to always be a true reflection of reality.
The key seems to be running a wmi query as someone else that you don't have credentials for. Is that possible? Or do you have another suggestion?
IanI believe this post may already be closed. I, however, would like to add my findings: When I run this against different pc's with different users logged on: Get-WmiObject
-Class Win32_MappedLogicalDisk -ComputerName <remote computer> | select Name, ProviderName
(Keep in mind that I'm a local admin on my pc as well as the destination pc's
as well.)
1. The logged on user is non-admin on their pc.
Mapped drives are not retrieved
2. The logged on user is admin on their pc.
Mapped drives are retrieved
3. I'm logged on to the remote pc (local admin)
Mapped drives are retrieved
Conclusion: As long as the target pc logged on user is local admin on that pc then the
mapped network drives will be pulled by the previously mentioned command. Otherwise, it will come back empty.
A question posted previously was: "I'm
curious why you need to know mapped drives??" In my case, I am trying to back up mapped network drives for all domain users. However, logon or logoff scripts are not
an option.
The real question should be: Why is the previously mentioned command not pulling the mapped network drives when the logged on user is not a local admin on the target pc?
I believe the answer is that the drives are not mapped to the remote computer per se, but to the user's process on the remote computer. And while an admin on that computer has significant power over the hardware and operating system, it cannot take control
of the process, which is locked by the user's credentials.
Consider remote control. My regular account is logged onto another computer. I run mstsc to establish a remote control session on that remote system under the same credentials. The effect is to disconnect the other remote session and lock the system on its
console, and for the new session to inherit the original process, seeing the same desktop with the same apps open.
I then run mstsc to establish another remote control session, this time using an account that is an administrator on that system. It tells me my regular account is already logged on, and gives me two options, abort my new session, or log the user out. using
my admin credentials, I cannot take over the user's session and see what applications he has open or what drives he may have mapped.

Hello,
i want to realize a central user administration between two different SAP Systems.
In an testing environment i realized it between two logical systems with different mandants in one SAP system.
Now it should work between two hosts. For example SAP1 192.168.150.1 and SAP2 192.168.150.2. What are the differences i have to consider?Lets take two systems with SIDs: SA1 and SA2.
1. Cerate logical system name SA1MNDT100 on SA1 identifying mandant 100 on SA1
2. Assign it to mandant 100 in system SA1
3. Then on SA2 you have to tell that there is system named SA1MNDT100 ready for communication, so you must create logical system name SA1MNDT100 in SA2 but you dont assign it to any mandant (because from SA2 point of view it is a remote system)
4. Then on SA2 create the RFC Destination with exactly the same name as your logical system defined in step 1 SA1MNDT100 pointing to hostname or ip of SA1/mandant 100 (this links remote logical system name with remote SAP system SA1)
5. Then on SA2 create different system name SA2MNDT500 indentifying mandant 500 on SA2
6. Assign it to mandant 500 in system SA2
7. Then on SA1 you have to tell that there is system named SA2MNDT500 ready for communication, so you must create logical system name SA2MNDT500 in SA1 but you dont assign it to any mandant (because from SA1 point of view it is a remote system)
8. On SA1 cereate the RFC Destination named SA2MNDT500 pointing to SA2/manadt 500.
Hope this clarifies your doubt.

Can't enable Remote Server Administration Tools
I have seen many people around the net having what seems to be this issue, but there are a few nuances that differ in my particular situation.
I have 2 'Windows 7 Sp1' machines on an AD domain. Functional level is 2003.
I downloaded and installed "Windows6.1-KB958830-x64-RefreshPkg.msu" on both PCs and the installation seemed to finish without errors, but when I go to enable the features it throws the error: "An error occurred, not all the features were successfully
changed."
I came across a solution that claimed I needed to reinstall the KB, I did so to no avail. I thought perhaps my download might be corrupt, so on the 2nd machine I downloaded directly to that PC, but got the same behavior.
I doubt that it is Group Policy related, because other machines (although they're XP) are in the same OUs as these machines and can run the admin tools. <Users are members of a Help Desk & frequently reset certain users' passwords.>
I'm not sure what to do next, especially since both of these computers are acting the same way.

Please go to event log to check more information about this operation, you could find something under Windows Logs---Setup log.
According to your description, I suspect there would be some common issue existed in your both Windows 7 computers. Just boot into clean boot mode to check if you can turn on Remote Server Administration Tools components. This will avoid the software conflicts
during configuration.

Hi
Portal Navigation:
User Administration>User Search>Details of a User
In there I see 2 tabs u201CUser Mapping for System Accessu201D and u201CEmail Signatureu201D
Can you please explain the functionality of these 2 tabs.User Mapping for System Access:
This option is used to map a user, group or role to a system user to connect to a different system. User mapping maps a portal user ID to the user ID of the back-end system
Lets say, User A wants to connect to a remote system from the portal but he wants to use the credentials of User B in the remote system since User A does not exist in that remote system. Then Under User Mapping for System Access Tab of this user, you can maintain the User ID and password of User B which will be used to connect to the remote system.

Email Signature:
Though I have not seen this option used in any of the implementations I have worked on, this is used to configure the system to automatically append an e-mail signature with a new e-mail message.
To enable and configure the email signature functionality, follow this link:

Lync 2013 Contacts - Remote users
Hi,
Almost ready to roll out Lync 2013 but...
Most of our company is spread out across the Internet so we'll want to have the GalContacts files to download automatically to each user.
Currently I find that that remote users are not getting the GalContacts files, is that an administrative setting in Lync?
Thanks
Mike
Edit: When I monitor a connection in Fiddler on a remote computer I see no request for the address book like I see for those on the LAN.Hi,
External Lync users download Address Book through Reverse Proxy.
So please double check Reverse Proxy configuration. External Lync users will use the External Web Services FQDN to download address book, so please double check if you enter the correct External Services FQDN.
Also, double check if all needed SAN added in Reverse Proxy certificate.
You can troubleshooting with the help of the link below:

Jabber mixed calls remote user
Whenever a remote user gets an incoming call to an office phone she used to sit at the call shows up on her screen on her IP communicator phone. The desktop phone has long since been reassinged to another user and it's the new user's name that appears on the remote users's screen and it's causing havoc when they both get incoming calls.
Jabber ver 9.05 build 11368
OS W7 Pro x64
Cisco Unified CM Administration
System version: 8.6.2.23900-10Hi H,
Well, this is something new to me. I am sure I tested the functionality for search too. When you click on the post-reply topic, do you see the username coming through?
If it is coming through and not working for Search only, then I shall look into it and verify if it is a bug or not... Hopefully, in the next drop the source code will be available and that will let the community developers to fix issues themselves :)
till later,

Issue moving remote user from exchange 2007 to 2013
have moved over 60 people so far from exchange 2007 to 2013, it was going well with no major problems.
during migration I have created a DNS setting called legacy.mydomain.com, and it points to the old exchange server, while mail.mydomain.com points to the new exchange server.
outlook was working connecting to both servers, and OWA was working on both servers.
couple of remote users who connect via SSL-VPN and outlook 2010 had issues connecting, but as soon as I moved them to 2013 exchange they connected without vpn using outlook anywhere.
but - I have one remote user who even though the mailbox move to the new 2013 server was successful, their outlook still points to the 2007 exchange server.
if I try creating a new profile in outlook 2013, it fails because it cannot contact exchange server, even when ssl-vpn is running.
when I started troubleshooting I found lots of spyware on his laptop, symantec had been blocking some trojans, obviously he had downloaded something he shouldnt have.
could this have caused my outlook connectivity issue?
I ran malawarebytes, and it shows clean now, but still unable to get his outlook to connect.
I had thought about moving his mailbox back to the old server, seeing if it works on outlook, then moving it to the new one again.
any suggestions?I had thought about moving his mailbox back to the old server, seeing if it works on outlook, then moving it to the new one again.
Hi,
Have you done this step? Sometimes moving mailbox to another database can auto-fix problems.
According to your description, I know that all migrated mailboxes work well except a specific user. I notice that the user's laptop has a lots of spyware, and symantec has been clocking some trojans.
Please try to logon OWA to check whether this user works.
If works in OWA, it seems that the mailbox has been migrated to 2013 successfully.
Generally, re-creating profile can fix this issue. Unfortunately, you have tried it and failed.
Please try to run Outlook under safe mode to avoid AVs and add-ins.
Thanks

Can somebody tell me what is going on here?

Problem #1 resolved: Ask me for solutionHi Oliver,
A contact at SAP has indicated that in the KM Task Scheduler Deadline (com.sap.workflow.es.scheduler.TaskScheduler.Deadline.run) that the user "Administrator" is hard coded in the SPS13 release.
Depending on what you are using the KM for you could reduce the frequency of the alert by changing the scheduling of this task which by default is every five minutes.
Although the release notes of the following patches didn't formerly address the hard coding issue, I decided to apply them anyway as I thought that a later release may have fixed the issue. However it is not fixed with these interim patches.
KMCBC13P_1-10003491.SCA Patch for KMC BASE COMPONENTS 7.00 SP13
KMCCM13P_1-10003492.SCA Patch for KMC CONTENT MANAGEMENT 7.00 SP13
I guess we will need to wait for a further patch to be released and ignore the error in the meantime.
Regards

Is it possible to have a remote user on your iphone if you never set on up?
My Iphone over the last couple of months has been acting very weird- I can not turn it off, my battery dies in 2 hours, it switches screens on me in the middle of me doing something.
i have both "user processes and root user processes running all of the time
i have never set up a root user
I live with my boyfriend who has a mac - ipad and iphone- we use the same wireless network
He has vuze and bit torrent which both i cant seen to run properly as the way they are safed or locked i can not access the files - he also has vmware fusion- again i am unable to run it -
I was told by a friend to turn on my data and watch it to see which programs or applications that I have could be possibly malfunctioning- since then I have notices in my data the following:
there are ports on my connections which i have looked up and are all associated with hacking - 5353-5433-6401-5223--80- so many more I cant bare to look through all the data I have saved- I am not technology savy - the whole process of trying to figure out if this is true or even possible is emotionally and mentally draining-
in my data there are key logs some short some long- some private some public?
key logs
which have information such as -
encodin=UTF-8"?><DOCTYPEplist PUBLIC"-aplle//dtdplist 1.0//EN
key com.apple OTAcrashcopier.successfulSubmissionTime<\key>

after multiple list with temperature 1 through 8- which each have a list

it says key com.apple.springboard.thermallevels key array

<key>metadata</key>
<dict>
<key>ADuserIntefaceLanguage<key/>
<string> en </string>
<key> adusersetregionformat<key/>
<stiring> US </string>
<dict/>
then a list of
<Key>ad scalars<key/>
<dict>
<key/> appActivationCount.com.apple.ApStore<key>
integer 1 interger
and it then does that for each one of my applications including
count maps
mobilesms
preference
mobilemail
mobilephone
mobilesafari
key appbackgroundactive time
integer 0 interger
and goes through a list of keys associated with again each of my apps
and so on and so on
another key log-

How i can create multiple users at a time (User Administration) in EP
Hi
I need to create multiple users at a time. How can i do that through User Administration in EP.
Please also tell me about import option in User AdministrationHi,
1. First of all create a master user based on which you can create multiple users.
2. when you are done with it export (by selecting the option at user creation) it.
3. you can see some text in a window copy it create a txt file with it, and add as many users as you want
by cpoy pasting the text multiple times and making necessary change as per the names etc...
4. save the txt file.
5. goto import option you were talking about and import the text file and update it.
6. As it gets updated you are done with the creation of multiples users.
If you get stuck somewhere feel free to let me know.
if this answer satisfies your need, award points and close the thread.

Remote users sending email - RBL and SMTP authentication
I've read about the problem of using RBL's with remote Outlook IMAP/SMTP users who may be using dynamically assigned IP addresses. There is a good chance that they will be appear on the RBL and so not be able to send email via the GWIA.
One work around is to have them send their email via their ISP's SMTP server, but this is a pain, because when they are back in the office, then need to switch their SMTP server back to the inhouse one.
So on the GW 7.0.3 server running on SLES 10, I wondered if the one host could handle multiple GWIA's??
1st existing GWIA:
To handle the regular in/out email with RBL's protection on it.
2nd new GWIA on a separate port but same IP address to handle just inbound email. This would be used by remote users and require authentication so no need for an RBL on it.
Is this a sound approach?
Any gotchas for setting up two gwia's on the one server and IP address besides separate ports?
I am aware there is the option of using the Groupiwse client or webmail, but firstly these users don't want to change from 'LookOut" due to their address book synch with their mobile phones and secondly sometimes they like to use their smart phones for remote email synchronisation.Maybe I should simplify this a little...
Can the one host handle multiple GWIA's??
1st existing GWIA:

2nd new GWIA on the same host and IP address, but on a separate port to handle just inbound email. This would be used by remote users and require authentication. -
Hi, we are currently having issues with remote users when their AD account flags that their password needs to be changed.
This happens when GPO enforces the user to change their password whilst they are not connected via a 3rd party VPN (OVPN Connect) which relies upon LDAP Authentication. When they next login, LDAP authentication knows that the password should have been changed
and therefore will not allow users to connect securely. Because they cannot connect, they cannot get the Windows prompt to tell them that they need to change their password.
Bit of a vicious circle. Can anyone suggest a work around or tweak for this?
Thanks in advance
I did come across an article but it applies to Windows 2000 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/818088/en-gb any updated versions of this for Windows 7?> they are not connected via a 3rd party VPN (OVPN Connect) which relies
> upon LDAP Authentication. When they next login, LDAP authentication
> knows that the password should have been changed and therefore will not
You need to use a solution that can handle this situation within the VPN
client (wich yours seemingly cannot)...

I'm willing to send all info to anyone who will provide some type of reasonable answer for me other than back it up wipe it clean and restart BC- I live with the person I believe did It and really that's not going to help as I already have - would like more definitive info -Will do that tomorrow - but the problem is- he has had access to my iCloud since I got an iPhone - we live together - have for a long time he set it up for me - I never realized there was a possibility he could possibly hack my phone entirely through that- and im still not sure - as answers here are vague- I don't have a problem with him viewing any info there- I never set up much more than contacts and find my iPhone which - who cares if he looks where I am - I don't lie about that- but until I started having multiple persistent problems with my phone - and finding many locked files on his Mac and Cydia on his iPad -( after hours of digging) - I never had a clue to think maybe he hacked my phone - I started really researching the concept and found vuze BitTorrent VMware strange wifi numbers - different locations on Mac - apple script and text edit files - pdf files that made no sense- stuffit - frankly i dont know what any o it really means- the problem is - I don't think going to apple tomorrow having them fix it - and not knowing if the problem is here at home is going to help this situation -if he is hacking / remote using - my phone on the level I think he has - I clearly can't figure it out with the knowledge I have in regards to this software - never knew he was into it - and frankly I think If its true its pretty easy for him to do again as we share everything here - can apple look at the information I have and really answer this question or do I need to find someone who will be able to understand the data ( im sure apple will -but who wants their product hack able) and all I've heard is its impossible to hack an apple phone with out jail breaking it - which from what I've looked at the last month I'm not sure about that if you share all your devices constantly. I would just like a definitive yes or no - and before I wipe it clean - it's kind of a serious thing.
