Remote Wipe Wiped Old Iphone
My Iphone 3GS got stolen last week. I send a text message and remote wipe through Mobile Me. Up to now I didn't get confirmation on the remote wipe done on the stolen Iphone.
I still had my Old Iphone 3G. I hasn't been used since 1 year. At the moment I connected it to my mac for sincing with Itunes, the text message send to my stolen Iphone got displayed and the remote wipe started. I emmidiatly received confirmation emails from Mobile me that text message was send en remote wipe started. This leaves me with the questions, how this could happen, and secondly, if the remote wipe will still be performed on my stolen Iphone, once it comes on line??
I just issued a wipe command on my iphone but still haven't got any confirmation. What is the approx. time for a confirmation? What are the possible reasons for a confirmation not being sent? Can I still consider my phone wiped?

iCloud: Erase your device
Sign in to icloud.com/#find with your Apple ID (the one you use with iCloud), then click Find My iPhone. If you’re using another iCloud app, click the app’s name at the top of the iCloud.com window, then click Find My iPhone. If you don’t see Find My iPhone on iCloud.com, your account just has access to iCloud web-only features. To gain access to other iCloud features, set up iCloud on your iOS device or Mac.
Click All Devices, then select the device you want to erase. If you have Family Sharing set up, your family members’ devices appear below their names.
In the device’s Info window, click Erase [device].
To erase:
An iOS device: Enter your Apple ID password. If the device you’re erasing has iOS 7 or later, enter a phone number and message. The number and message will be displayed on the screen after the device is erased. -

TS2634 Can I remotely wipe my stolen iphone 4 without an iCloud account?
Hi, my iPhone 4 was stolen yesterday on the last day of my Holiday in Ibiza.
It was on the O2 network in the UK, had a 4-digit screen lock on it, but I don't think the wipe after 10 failed password attempts setting was on.
I think iCloud was installed on the phone as I'm sure I saw it listed in the settings on the phone but I haven't got an iCloud account.
Almost certain the Operating System was iOS 5.0.1.
I contacted my network yesterday & had my SIM card blocked & IMEI blocked, so from this I'm quite sure the phone is now unusable, unless they are able to run through as many pass code attempts as they want. (??)
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is a way of setting up an iCloud account now & using it to remotely wipe the phone & send messages to it saying that it is stolen, or is this now not a possibility?
Also if it is possible to use a new iCloud account to retrieve my holiday photos/videos (I am assuming this is a long shot)?
I have all my other data in an iTunes back-up to restore to a new iphone when I can eventually afford to buy a new one.
I still have another years monthly payments to pay on my contract, thank you theif.
Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks Lee.No. iCloud and Find my iPhone need to be on prior to loss.

Remote Wipe iPhone Without Using Exchange?
Is it possible to do a remote wipe on an iPhone without using Microsoft Exchange?
Thanks,
JBNo. It's a function of Exchange, not the phone.

I need to erase all the content and settings from old iPhone 4s. Will doing so affect content on new iPhone 6 which is using the same iCloud account and Apple ID?
No, it will not affect the iPhone 6 content if you wipe the old iPhone 4s.

Remote wipe for local sync data
Hello,
when will remote wipe be and option for onedrive for business,Thanks. I know about the passcode feature. I just think it would be even more secure if you could remotely wipe your own iPhone, using iTunes.
I also think it would be great if the internal camera, microphone and GPS could be secretly turned on and used to track a thief, if your iPhone was stolen. The GPS in particular seems a no-brainer to me. You'd know EXACTLY where it was, and could send the police round to retrieve it -
iCloud said that my stolen iphone will be wiped when the iphone connects to the internet. Then I received an email saying remote wipe has started. Is there any way to know if remote wipe was completed?

My iPhone 4s was stolen this weekend and I did the Remote Lock. What exactly does that do? Also, if i do the Remote Wipe will that erase all of my data and impede anyone from ever using the phone?
The remote lock locks the iphone with a passcode that you set. By remote wiping the device it will simply restore it and clear it of all its data, but by doing this it will prevent you tracking it and communicating with it (e.g. remote locking it) in the future

So, if a remote wipe occurred as the email stated, how did the person with the phone immediately go back to using the data on the phone. Wouldn't the person have to register the Iphone through Itunes? I got the email saying the erase was happening at 11:10. Looking at my cellular data usage, the phone began using data about that time after about a 12 hour break. So it seems like Find my Iphone quickly picked up the phone. But then the phone continued using data for about 3 more hours. How could the person be using the phone if it had just been wiped?
I understand that iCloud's erase function is totally distinct from Verizon's cellular service (i.e. the phone could be wiped and Verizon would never know). It's been a while since I've activated an Iphone through Itunes, but when you activate the phone don't you have to register it? If the iPhone was wiped at 11:10, how could it be using data at 11:15 and consistently for the next three hours. How long does the Itunes registration process take?

Corporate icloud account for iphone remote wipe
Hi,
We are about to purchase 150 iphones for members of staff (field workers) and we would like to be able to maintain these phones in Icloud for purpose of remote wiping of devices if any go astray, stolen etc.
Is there option for corporate accounts for such services ? Is there a cost ? Can all 150 iphone be on same account so "point, select phone and remote wipe" ?
If icloud cannot do this, can anyone suggest anything else. We are not using Office365 or BES, so those options are out of the window.
Many thanks

Suggest you contact Apple for info. These are user to user forums, and you are not addressing Apple by posting here. -
I remote wiped my iPhone and now I don't have FaceTime or iMessage
Hi Everybody,
Dumb of me. I, accidentally, remote wiped my wife's iPhone 4. Don't ask... I don't know why I did it...
However, It was no big deal after all.... I restore it with a kind of factory reset and afterwards to its previous state using the backup made one day before. Now, everything is running as it should...
Ooops!!! Not everyhting.... No Face Time or iMessages.... Remember the so called "Wainting for activation" problem?
That's the one I have now....
I´ve been reading about this and trying all the fixes I've read. Date & Time Automatically Off and On again with restart... Even a very very strange fix: changing my Wireless DNS nunber either to 8.8.4.4 or 8.8.8.8.
Nothing worked... However, I did have FaceTime and iMessages before my silly Remote Wipe. So it must be a very particular little thing.
Anyway, it is an iPhone 4 running IOS 6 already and in Portugal (Time zone: Lisbon; London).
Any ideas on what to do?
Cheers
JorgeOK.... It is solved. Meanwhile, I discovered a Apple KB that recomended to wait for 24 hours before trying again.
I waited 24 hours and it is wortking again.
I have to give 10 points to myself..... :-) I am sorry but the problem wernt way and I want to close it.
Cheers
Jorge
