Remote Wipe with iPhone without exchange server

Hello All
I have a question about the new "remote wipe" feature in the iPhone 2.0 software upgrade. I like the idea of it for security reasons in case the phone gets taken, but I am a private individual without access to an enterprise server. I do have a "mobile me" account - and was wondering if it was possible to do a 'remote wipe" without an exchange server either as a mobile me member or in some other way? It would let me feel more comfortable carrying around my original iPhone with more data.
Anyone know how this will work?
In case it matters, I have an iPhone 8GB.

I guess my question is that from my understanding "mobile me" is a fake enterprise server service, exchange for the rest of us. So that's why it would seem to be a natural link if they're able to do push email, calendars, etc. then it seems that we would not need to have a separate APP in order to do a remote wipe. But I don't know how it technically works.

I love my new iPhone 3G!
There is just one main thing remaining that I need it to do in order to fully replace my previous Windows Mobile phone functionality:
I need it to keep my work Outlook's contacts and calendars synchronized with my home Outlook (Outlook 2003 on Windows XP PC). Note: I do not want separate sets of work and personal contacts and/or calendar items, since I want all contacts and calendar items in both systems (differentiate by the Outlook category field).
With my previous Windows Mobile phone, it would sync with my work Exchange account (via wireless ActiveSync), and then resolve this with my local/home PC's Outlook when connected to my PC (using the local version of ActiveSync). When done, any contact or calendar change made at work, on my phone, or on my home PC would eventually be synchronized with all 3 systems (i.e., phone, work Outlook, and home Outlook).
The new iPhone 3G first beautifully sync'd to my local/home Outlook with iTunes 7.7. Then, when I configured my work Exchange ActiveSync with contacts and calendar sync on, it unfortunately cleared those sync'd items. Now the iPhone is beautifully sync'd with my work Outlook via Exchange ActiveSync, but iTunes will no longer allow my local sync. Thus, any changes at work or on the iPhone are not reflected at home
I researched this a little, and I see that the Apple MobileMe service may be able to help me. Can anyone tell me if it will allow me to sync the exact same items with my local Outlook, the iPhone, and directly/indirectly with my work Outlook (via Exchange ActiveSync)?

I'm excited to finally sync my work email with my iPhone. Our IT didn't support it and we work off of an Exchange server. I, too, was nervous about which contacts to sync. While I want my work email, I don't need my contacts and would rather have mine from my mac at home. Unfortunately, you can only do one at a time. The following paragraph is from a c net review. Can I get more than one account on iphone microsoft exchange server

I was trying to get more than one account on iphone microsoft exchange server for mail, but it seems to only accept one. Is this true with everyone else out there. I guess I am one of the few people with more than one email account that uses microsoft exchange. I would love to have the convience of accessing them through iphone mail but it seems that I will be forced to use safari for the other two by typing owa... in the url.
any workaround to the one email account per iphone policy??

Yu can only have one Exchange Server account per device. This is true to iPhone and any Windows mobile device in the market. The work around is to set your other accounts that reside on an Exchange server using IMAP or POP settings as you used to do before the Version 2 update allowed you to sync directly to the Exchange Server. This methode will allow you to add as many accounts as you want or have.

Apple Mail with Office 365 Exchange server

Is anyone here using Apple Mail with Office 365 Exchange server on Mountain Lion? I have just upgraded to Mt Lion and decided to switch from Outlook to Apple Mail.app. My account was added successfully. Even contacts, calendar, tasks and notes work very well. My problem with Mail.app is that it does not sync any emails in subfolders prior to the day I added the account to Mail. For any older emails I have to open Outlook for Mac and look it up there. Other than this issue Mail is working well for all new incoming and outgoing emails.

Exchange's ActiveSync protocol which requires licensing a propietary protocol from Microsoft is what you are asking for.
IMAP is one additional port open, and can be encrypted with SSL. If they are concerned about an additional port open, VPN is an option. Then only when the VPN is active will the corporate email be available. The other argument that has been advanced on security is on Windows Mobile devices the server can ask for remote wipes of data from the phone. The iPhone only caches emails, and goes back to the server to download them again when you go to view them again. If you change the password for the account on the server, the same results occur - the email is not available on the device the next time that account is accessed from the iPhone.

Iphone 3G, Exchange Server 2003 and NOT sending "Read Mail" receipts

I have a 3G Iphone that syncs with Exchange Server 2003. I do NOT want people to see when I read or delete their emails so I have my Outlook account set up that way. It works from my desktop, however, my Iphone still triggers notifications saying whether I read a message or deleted without reading. I haven't found a way to change this on the phone - has anyone else?

Trouble Connecting iPad and iPhone to Exchange Server 2010

I have found some online instructions for connecting iPhones and iPods (or iPads) to Exchange Server 2010 using activesync. I enter all the information as I understand it (the same info used to successful connect Droids), and I do not get an error
until I try to sync (retrieve mail) the first time. Then it says, "The connection to the server failed."
In the instructions I follwed it has this statement, "Before we get started, please be sure your administartor has purchased you an Activesync license and assigned to
your email address." What the heck does this mean and how can I accomplish it? I know activesync is working. So why do I need a "license"?

1st Generation iPhone-Microsoft Exchange Server

Hi-
I have a first generation iPhone and want to use the Microsoft Exchange Server to download my work email and calendar. I have tried several times going through the process of entering email address, log in, password, domain, and sever. Each time I get an error message that says 'exchange account verification failed'. I have walked through this with 2 other people on their 3G iPhones and it works perfectly. Am I having trouble with this because I'm using the 1st Generation iPhone? Any assistance or troubleshooting with this would be awesome!

What version of the iPhone OS are you running? Check Settings > General > About. MS Exchange support is not available on pre-v2.0 versions. Original iPhones running v2.x are able to connect to MS Exchange servers (assuming the server is set to allow that access, which in your case since other iPhones are accessing it, it seems to be).

Entourage/isync/e2Sync on two computers with one on Exchange Server?

I want to be able to use Entourage on my laptop and have it linked to my work exchange server so any changes I make in Outlook on my work PC (which is also linked to the exchange server) will show up on the laptop in Entourage when I connect it to the exchange server. Then I want to be able to use e2Sync to isync my Entourage info on the laptop and have it then sync up with Entourage on my home desktop Mac.
My goal is to be able to have my work PC Outlook information be reflected and properly synced on my Mac Laptop and Home Mac Desktop.
Is this possible?

I'm trying to do something similar, but the problem I'm getting is that e2sync wont install correctly in my Intel iMac, the e2sync icon will not appear in iSync. If I go to the iSync program and check the package contents I see that e2sync is there, but it won't show in the iSync devices list.
Has anyone been able to properly install e2sync in Mac OS X 10.4.4? or better yet, in a Intel iMac?

maybe I am stupid, but I can't seem to get this thing to work,
I have installed mail for exchange 2.3, finally the security setting is showing, I have approved the certificate but still I am getting the very general :
"Error in Exchange server. try again later."
to explain my steps:
1. configure the connection to use the HSDPA/Cellular link.
2. hostname: owa.domain.com , username and password.
server is Exchange server 2007 and configured behind an ISA server. OWA 2007 from a browser works fine.
please any assistance would be great, I don't even know how to approach it anymore.

As per my information Webcenter Suite 10.1.3.2 does not have any direct integration capability with MS Exchange Server due to DEEP LINK LIMITATION. Only possible work around is go for External Application SSO registration and then render that URL in IFRAME.
As far as WEBCENTER INTERACTION is concerned i think its seprately licensed and eventhough it's free you need extra Hardware to Install and Configure.

Issues with setting up Exchange Server 2013

Not sure what im doing wrong yet i am having issues with exchange server 2013.
Currently I have got general SMTP Mail flow working. as long as i log onto the local servers OWA (https://10.x.x.x/owa) i can log into a users mailbox. i have tested sending and recieving mail using this and it works.
My main issue now is with accessing the OWA externally via our website. (owa.xx.xx.au/owa) or connecting ANY Outlook to the server.
When i connect to the exchange server via outlook it asks for the password again multiple times never authenticating it then time's out and says:
" the action cannot be completed. the connection to microsoft exchange is unavailable, outlook must be online or
connected to complete this action "
then when i click on OK it goes to the General Tab and under microsoft exchange server: the name for it appears as
[email protected]
with mailbox set as:
=SMTP:[email protected]
Currantly on our DNS i have

Im willing to bet its something stupid i have overlooked but i was wondering if anyone would be able to help me out

Firstly, please follow the Shadab's suggestion to check related virtual directory settings.
Please make sure you use certificate that's created by a CA that's trusted by the client computer's operating system.
Please use get-outlookanywhere | fl cmdlet to check ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod. By default, the authentication is Negotiate.

Q10 no syncing properly with MS Hosted Exchange server

Hello,
I have a Q10 and my email is via MS Hosted Exchange server. On my PC via Outlook 2010 all is great, via the web interface all is great. Current send/receive emails are synced properly, my calendar and notes/reminders are great.
My issue is my folder tree within the Q10 email environment doesn't display all of my folders. As emails come in I file them by customer to help with Inbox clutter...
I don't have a storage issue on the Q10. Any thoughts? Is there a max folder number setting somewhere?
If there is info on this somewhere, I couldn't find it...

Try to use FQDN of Cas server in URL and Add CASADMIN into all the three Exchage Roles: Recipient Management; View Only Organization Management; and Server
Management. Enabled the Windows Authentication on Exchange CAS Server for /powershell in IIS.

Can someone help with my Mail not working with my Microsoft Exchange server?

I am trying to set up my Mail account. I am using the Microsoft Exchange server. I've been using Entourage, but wanted to switch to using the Mac's Mail. I used the same settings I had with Entourage, but with Mac Mail I'm getting this error: MFEWSErrorDomain error 56. From some of the other posts I saw, it seems as though no one has any answers, but I figured I'd ask anyway.

Problem with Integerating Microsoft Exchange server as Webdav Repository

We are using MS Outlook 2000.
I created an HTTP system with the exchange server domain name and the corresponding user id and password required for authentication.
Then i created the Repository Manager using WebDav Repository template.But when I go to component monitoring it gives error in the server as server not connected.
How to rectify the error?
