Remote won't landscape

Since I upgraded to iOS 7 my Apple REMOTE program on my iPad will not operate in landscape mode, only portrait. In addition when operating (in portrait mode) the program is very very slow.I've rebooted, downloaded another version, can't get it to work.

Have you tried swapping out the batteries incase they are dead.

  • Remote Won't Stay

Just got a brand new iMac. I went to stick the apple remote on the side of the iMac and it won't stick. I have no clue why, any body have any explanation or should i just bring it in to apple and probably get the magnet repaired.

This is just a long shot, but I suppose someone may have failed to actually install the magnet.
Have you checked to see if it is actually there? Get some light magnetic material, or better yet a real magnet. First run it the magnet from the bottom edge upwards to the CD slot to see if you get a reaction. If not there is a good chance the magnet that was supposed to be in the iMac was overlooked at the factory.
If you do get a reaction, then try the magnet against the back of your remote. If the remote won't stick then someone may have failed to to instal the magnetic strip in the remote.

  • Apple Remote won't work with Logic

I bought a new iMac (3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) and the Apple Remote won't work with Logic 8. It worked fine on my MacBook Pro.

jazzmaniac, I did something by holding down two buttons on the remote for a few seconds. I guess that is called registering. But when I try to play a song file in Logic, Front Row pops up instead.
I've searched the Internet and am finding little on this topic.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Your Apple TV may have become paired with another remote. Hold the remote close to and pointed at the Apple TV, hold down the menu and Rewind buttons together for 6 seconds or until you see a broken chain icon on screen.

  • Iphone remote won't connect to my iTunes library and tells me the passcode is incorrect

My iphone 5 previously worked with the Remote app to control streaming of music from my itunes library to my amp with Airplay capability.  Now it can't find my itunes library and when I go to the Settings for Remote app and try to add the library, it won't accept my passcode on itunes screen where it appears.  I deleted the app and re-added it to my iphone but it still won't work.  My Remote app still works on my Ipad so I'm a bit perplexed as to why it won't work on my iphone 5. Any suggestions?

    Hello dawgfaj,
Thank you for all the information you provided with the Remote app issue you are experiencing on your iPhone.  I found an article with steps you can take when the Remote app is not connecting to iTunes:

  • Ios7 Remote App no landscape on Ipads

Since upgrading to ios7, the Apple Remote App is persistantly in portrait mode.  Anyone else notice that they can't operate the Remote App on an ipad in landscape?  Sort of a problem on a horizontally wall-mounted Ipad.

Same here (ipad mini). There's another thread here mentioning several issues with rotation. Most are solved with either playing with the lock switch function, reebooting and reinstalling the app...I've tried all of the above, still no luck. Wonder if it's a remote app ios7 compatibility issue?

  • Remote Won't Click Up

Just today our remote for Apple TV 2 won't click up. The click sound is even gone.
    Any ideas?

Just the up position on the scroll wheel?

  • Remote won't pair up

Previously the apple remote worked. Now why won't my apple remote pair up with the ATV but my iphone remote app will work? I've tried all the trouble shooting tips but with no luck. Could a bad battery affect this? Thanks.

    Presumably you've seen this:

...and tried unpairing first using menu and rewind together for 6 secs to remove any previous IR pairing (broken link appears).

  • Apple Remote won't work with Non-admin account :-(

    Hi all,
i have a Macbook (OS version 10.5.4). Earlier there was only one account on this laptop, and i was using it as an administrator. A few days ago i decided to convert that account to a regular (non-admin) one, and created a separate admin-only account. When i tried using my Apple Remote in the non-admin account, it wouldn't work at all ! So i tried it in the admin account, and i was able to use it and paired it with this macbook.
But on logging back into the regular account, it has stopped working again (even though System Preferences>Security says the macbook is paired with a remote). Please help!! It would be especially helpful if this could be fixed without having to create & migrate to a whole new account, etc... i'm open to command-line solutions [ that won't crash the machine ]
    Thanks a million !
    ..meghana

Never mind. i logged out of the non-admin account and into the admin account, unpaired and re-paired the remote. Then logged back into the non-admin account, and voilà! Its magic i tell you! hope this helps any other people who have the same problem.

  • IPhone Remote Won't Stay Connected to Apple TV

I have an apple tv, iphone 3gs and ipod touch first gen.
I am having many issues using either the ipod or iphone as the remote.
When I have connected to the the apple tv itunes library with the iphone's remote app it works fine. But as soon as either the apple tv or iphone fall asleep, turn off or disconnect they lose each other. I then cannot re-connect to the apple tv's itunes library. I am still able to connect to another itunes library but not the apple tv.
The only way I can manage to connect to the apple tv library with the iphone again is by resetting both devices and unpairing them. Then I am able to put the four digit code in again, works fine untill it goes to sleep. A big circle!
I have installed the app on my first gen ipod touch, however the app just won't open. I have purchased the 3.0 software for the touch, but the app doesn't work on it.
I am very much at a loss.
I would appreciate any help or tips. I have tried opening the two ports apple suggests opening. However that does not help.
    Thanks,
    Syd

I too have the same issue. I could connect to either iTunes or Apple TV, but as soon as I got out of one or the other I could never get it to connect to the library. I spent hours messing with my router, and nothing worked.
I did notice that my iPod Touch (which is running 3.0 firmware) had no problems at all connecting to either libraries. So I knew it wasn't a firewall issue.
The only think I found to work (and was the easiest workaround) was to go on the iPhone Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi for about 10 seconds. After turning it back on and the phone reconnected to the Wi-Fi network, I could immediately connect to Apple TV or iTunes. But as soon as I got out, the problem happened again.
I definitelly think there is some TCP/IP bug in the software that isn't meshing with the iPhone 3.1.2 firmware.
    I hope this helps.

  • My logic remote won't find my macbook pro, what do i do?

Hi. i downloaded logic remote to my iPad 2 and tried to connect it to my garageband on my macbook pro but it wont find the macbook... ive tried eveything, like creating my own internet, or connecting via bluetooth but nothing will work, please help me..

    Hello Rasmus Teuchler,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with the Logic Remote.  I found a few resources that I think might help.
First, I recommend checking to see if Garageband is the application controlled on the Logic Remote app:

If you are still not able to connect with Garageband, I recommend the following articles for additional troubleshooting steps (these articles refer to Logic Pro X, but the steps are relevant for Garageband as well):

  • Remote won't go past "Music" screen

I just purchased a new iMac G5. When I press the menu button on the remote, it takes me to the Music screen, but none of the other buttons have any effect. And I sometimes have to press the menu button a couple of times before it does anything.
I've tried unpairing and re-pairing, and Front Row works fine if I go into it with the apple-esc keys. And I've tried the trick of pointing the remote at the webcam while in iChat and the light does flash.
From reading other posts I'm thinking it may be a faulty remote. If so, the store I bought the computer from should replace the remote, right?

I was standing too close to the computer. Once I moved back a few feet it worked fine.

  • Remote won't stop controlling Front Row!

I've been battling with my AppleTv since October! As soon as I start scrolling throught netflix, the music starts going or some random tv show from itunes begins. It's getting very annoying.
I've already paired the remote to the AppleTv and tried to set the preferences in itunes to forget remotes, but nothing works. Any ideas?

Go into system preferences - security, on the computer, and disable the infrared receiver.
