Remotely wiping data from a stolen iphone3

My old iphone 3 was stolen.  I don't care about the phone but I do care about the pictures on the phone.  I don't want strangers looking at my personal pictures.  The iphone 3 was too old to install the "find my iphone" app.  How do I go about remotely wiping the data from an iphone 3?

No app can be installed to wipe an iDevice.
Find My iPhone is a feature of iOS6 and later (possibly iOS5) that must be turned on.
If the device had a passcode, then no one can access the pictures.  Otherwise anyone that picks up the phone can access any data on the device.

  • Remote wiping data on icloud, still pending

    Hi All,
    I lost my iphone 4 last night.
    1, I have just remote wiped the data on this iphone. The request is still pending. (I understand that the iphone has to be connected to the internet in order that the pending request will be completed.
    2. While it is pending, I changed the applie id password!!!
    My question is
    1. Will the iphone be wiped?
    2. If not, how can I change the password back in order that the password on icloud and iphone are the same. (Apple has rule that you cannot use the same password you used in past year.
    Please kindly advise.
    Thank you
    Naihuato

    And the same case as gmail
    I changed my gmail password. After that I just realize that I should remove all old neccessary email first.
    I connected the email via "Exchange" that any emails will be removed from all devices with one press deletion.
    Gmail has the same rule, you cannot use the same password in one year.
    If I can change the password back, I can remove all emails in my lost iphone. It is a kind of wiping data.
    Any help?
    Thank you in advance for any answer.

  • Loading remote sharedObject data from FMS 3.5 in AS3

    Porting from AS2 to AS3 and have a problem in the terminology, methods and syntax for loading remote sharedObject data. Here's what I have working in AS2 (This works in AS2 but not in AS3)::
    if (info.code == "NetConnection.Connect.Success") {
    drawing_so = SharedObject.getRemote("mySharedObj", main_nc.uri, true);
    drawing_so.onSync = function(list) {
    for (var n in list) {
    var line_obj = this.data[list[n].name];
    trace ("This name = " + line_obj);
    So I got the synching working ( I know that's different) and running error-free but it won't parse the data, nor can I get it into an array as above. Here's what I tried::
    if (cn.info.code.indexOf("Success") != -1) {
    trace("I'M CONNECTED ");// < --- this works
    drawing_so = SharedObject.getRemote("mySharedObj", nc.uri, true);
    drawing_so.addEventListener(SyncEvent.SYNC, syncSO);
    drawing_so.connect(nc);
    and the EventListener function is ::
    function syncSO(event:SyncEvent):void {
    var myList:Array = drawing_so.data.list;
    for (var n in myList) {
    trace("N = " + n);
    var line_obj = this.data[myList[n].name]; // < - - - not able to retrieve values from the sharedObject
    trace ("This name = " + line_obj);
    So I'm just not familiar with the terminology here.
    Sorry - I went through all your excellent tutorials to try to find this and scoured the forum as well. Maybe this would be a good, simple AS3 to FMS 3.5 tutorial! B^)
    Thanks for you help,

  • Procedure for Wiping Data from 8830

    Hi,
    I posted yesterday about connectivity problems between Desktop Manager 5.0 and my 8830. There have been no replies to my post, so I continue to search online for other options.
    I found several posts which referenced wiping the Blackberry of data by using the lock/unlock feature.
    I set my own password. I then locked the keyboard using the lock icon. I then entered an incorrect password.... 15 times. There was no warning about wiping data. (I had set the number of attempts to 5 after trying with the default of 10 with the same results.)
    I can type in the new password and the screen unlocks, so I know that the password feature works for unlocking the 8830.
    What am I doing wrong?
    How do I wipe the data if the wrong password won't get the phone to wipe? (I can't use Desktop Manager because the connection between the 8830 appears momentarily and then disconnects.)
    Thanks for any input that can be provided.
    Jeff

  • Wiping data from iPad

    My iPad gen1 OS5.1 was stolen. I have it synced with my Exchange server at work so get emails pushed. I read through OWA you can choose to wipe all data off the device by going to Options after signing in, then choosing your mobile device, and "wipe all data." however my exchange server doesn't have this option, must be wrong version of Exchange.  Is there another way, maybe through iTunes, to wipe date off my stolen device. Stupidly, I did not enable "Find my iPad." I have an iCloud account, can that work for my purposes? TIA

    Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.
    Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

    The only way I have seen to do this kind of billing is using Resource Related Billing (RRB) and customizing of the Dynamic Item Processer Profile (DIP Profile)
    It is not exactly like a simple flow of Notification > Sales Order > Service order (with all of the problems of how to copy notification data through to Service order) but might be a possible solution for you ?

  • Wiping data from my iPhone 3GS

    I am giving my old iPhone away. I cleared my messages and photos then selected Restore to Factory Settings. Does this mean all my data will be wiped or when the new user has my phone, they can see any historic data/my old emails?

    If you used the "Restore" button in iTunes, and restored as a new device, this will wipe the phone. However, were you using FaceTime or iMessage? If so, did you turn these both off BEFORE you wiped the phone? If not, you might want to reactivate both, turn both off after doing so, then wipe the phone again.

  • Wiping data from MacBook Pro, but keeping applications

    I'm handing down my computer to a friend and want them to be able to use all the Applications I've paid for, but not have it filled with all my "stuff" inside the applications. Is there a way to create a new user with applications from the Admin user?  (and then I guess make the new user the Admin...)  Thank you!

    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
    If you purchased those apps in the App Store, your friend won't be able to update them because the computer will ask him/her for your Apple ID, so I highly recommend you to uninstall them if you purchased them in the App Store.
    Anyway, applications are stored on a folder outside the user folder, so it's as easy as creating a new user and deleting the old user:
    1. Open System Preferences > Users & Groups, and press + button to create a new user. Make sure it's an administrator user.
    2. Go to  > Log Out, log in the new user, go to System Preferences > Users & Groups and delete your old user selecting it in the sidebar and pressing - button.
    With this, your data will be deleted and applications are kept on the hard drive

  • Wiping data from drive?

    I need to return a mac back to work and would like to ensure that all of my personal data is not retreivable. I understand that in theory that there is always a way that it can be retreived, though I just want to take reasonable precautions to ensure that someone with some utility disc will not be able to get my info. Which program would you recommend for this? The one that comes with the Tiger installation disc? Any other better programs?

    Use the instructions in this article to zero the drive. Overwriting it once will guard against someone using an utility disk to recover the data; more passes will be needed if you want to stop specialized tools from retrieving the overwritten data.

    how to you transfer data from one macbookpro to another. the other one was stolen.

  • How to recover data for a stolen iphone

    Does anybody know how I can recover phone data from a stolen iphone?

    If you used to sync your iPhone with your computer, you should have a backup. That backup should contain the photos you have in your camera roll.
    If not, then unfortunately there is nothing to be done without physical access to the phone.
    Also, you can use iPhone Data Recovery to help you recover your data back.
    Best wishes.

    YOu can only do that if you had find my iphone setup and activated prior to having your phone stolen.
    Then you log into icloud.com to remote wipe, but your phone has to be connect to wifi or cellular data to do that.

  • Can you get information from an iPhone that has been remote wiped?

    Hello,
    My girlfriend thought her iPhone was stolen today, so she did a remote wipe so no one could steal her information off her phone.  It ended up that she had just left her iPhone someplace and was able to get it back.
    Now that she's got the phone back, she's trying to restore it, but it looks like the iPhone was set to back up to iCloud, but never did because of an error (she had no idea she was getting), and it seems that since it was set up to back up to iCloud, the last iTunes backup was from before she got her iPhone 4s (so it's 5 months old).
    Is there anyway to pull information off of an iPhone after it's been remote wiped?  I have a program for pulling information off of digital camera memory cards that have been formatted.  Is there something like this for iPhones?
    Thanks,

    Sorry, no. Her data is gone, as designed.

  • Restore data from wiped iPad Retina

    I had my iPad stolen a few days ago, and when I got it back it was (off course) wiped clean; I had a version of ios 6, the dude stealing it installed 7.
    Now, I don't care about the OS too much, but there were videos and pics in it that I would like to get back. I'm being told that it's impossible to restore them, and it probably is, but I'm not ready to give up quite yet.
    I've tried 6-7 different programs to restore the data, but without result. Any ideas as to how I can get my pics/vids back? Is it for example possible to get help from Apple?

    Sure, but hard drives and usb sticks are waaay easier to recover data from even if that's the case. Even the content of hdd's that have been in a fire is possible to recover. I would know, I run a data recovery company. We never get any Apple products though, as we specialize in nand flash recovery (ssd's/usb sticks/memory chips).
    Do you know if it is true that i-products have some kind of automated software that encrypts old/deleted data? A friend of mine works for Apple, and he said that even if I were to find any data when analysing the iPad it would be jiberish because of the encryption.
