Removal of a tool I don't know what it is
In the button right corner there is a gray square and when I click on it an arrow with circles around them pop up and don't allow me to do anything. What is this and how can I remove it?
Sounds like Assistive Touch. Go to Settings>General>Accessibility, then Assistive Touch and turn that off. You might also want to go to Accessibility Shortcut and make sure that is off.

You installed the Conduit spyware. To remove it, triple-click the following line of text to select it:
~/Library/Application Support/Conduit
Copy (command-C) the text to the Clipboard. Then select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the Finder menu bar and paste (command-V) into the box that opens. A Finder window may open with a folder named "Conduit" selected. If so, delete the selected folder.
Select Go to Folder again and enter:
/Library
From the folder that opens, delete the following items, if they exist. You may be prompted for your login password.
Application Support/Conduit
InputManagers/CTLoader
LaunchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist

Close the folder. Now select Go to Folder one more time and enter:

I was useing my colne tool in apetrure when, apeture froze. I could not get it to work again, so I turned off my computer, re booted my machine and tried to open the programme again. I can not get aperture to open again and I can't open I photo either. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me get the programme running again? I have a deadline to meet this evening. Help!
I have tried both options.
When I got to point 3 I choose the library I was working on and the same error message popped up, so this option did not work.
I then tried the second suggestion and chose the repair option but as before there is no sign of a repair database grogress indicator. Where would I be able to see this and what does it look like. I can't see any evidence of anything happening on my screen.
I have also just tried the first option that comes up in the pop up box where you have to enter your password, this resulted in the same error message.
I don"t know what to do.
I don't really want to have to go for the third option where you have to rebuild you data base - Would this result in loosing images? -

Near the right-end of the address bar is a white star which can be difficult to see, but look closely. When you wish to bookmark a shortcut to the toolbar, double click the star. A window will open with the name of the webpage. Under that is the folder box which will probably read 'Unsorted Bookmarks'. Click the drop down arrow and change it to 'Bookmarks Toolbar' then click done.
I have several folders on my toolbar such as Music, Mail, etc. in which I add multiple websites. If you wish to add a folder, click the second drop down arrow next to 'Bookmark Toolbar' and click 'New Folder' and give it a name.
To add a bookmark to a folder, again double click the star, make sure you are in Bookmark Toolbar and click one of the two drop down arrows to find the name of the folder.
For other bookmarks use Bookmark Menu. Whatever is added here can be accessed by Bookmarks on the Menu Bar. If your Menu Bar with Bookmark, File, View, etc. is not visible, click the Alt key and they will become visible. To keep the Menu Bar, click View, Toolbars and check Menu Bar. -

Open a Finder window.
Select your user account on the left in the Sidebar. It has a small house icon.
Now open the Library folder then the Preferences folder.
Move the com.apple.systemuiserver.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
Restart your Mac.

My steam won't launch ever since I updated to Yosemite I don't know what is going on.

How can I get rid of this message that keeps popping up:
Widevine Media Optimizer Update Available? Don’t know what it is but don’t want it.Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
Here are some general guidelines. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickYourMac.” First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickyourmac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickYourMac.dmg and open it. You may have to log out or reboot in order to complete an uninstallation.

Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" that purport to remove software. -

I seriously don't know what caused this to start being a problem until today it worked fine, but I added an exception for popups from this one site in Chrome and Firefox decided it wouldn't allow it popups from this part of Facebook and no I am not allowing all the FB apps to have popups I never had to before

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by malware on your pc. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].
