Removal of device association results in unrecognizable DN

First post, so all of the usual apologies for not know where to look for an issue that's already addressed...
Recently a small group of employees of our company have changed their standard mode of work such that they no longer have desk phones. (in the case Cisco 7975s)   I have collected all of the unused phones and they are sitting on a shelf.  All except for one.    On that particular device (let's call it "phone 1") I dissociated the DN  and assigned Phone 1 to a new employee.   I used what I think is a pretty standard process.   I created the new user in AD, synced with CM and Unity, set up CUP and CUPC, then I pulled up Phone 1 in CM, dissociated the previous user, Saved, back to Configure Device, changed the Description, set the CSS & Softkey Template, associated the Owner User ID, Saved, Applied Config.  then I added Line 1 and created it on the fly as I usually do, Saved and Applied Config again for good measure.
So, what's the issue?  the phone I re-provisioned (Phone 1) is working just fine for the new user.  However, when I navigate to the User Options page for the original user, not only can I not change the forwwarding, but the dropdown shows only a choice of the new user's DN.  AND when I try and Forward All to the cell phone that also fails.  The last thing is the although I have made no changes to the original user's AD profile (IP phone extension still there) when I dial that extension I get the default for any number we do not have in our AD - that's the fax number pool.
It seems to me that the answer lies somewhere in an association, but I can't find it.  I do not see the option to associate the original user's DN with a user in the DN Configuration window.  In the End User Configuration window for the original the telephone number shown for the original user (non-editable field) is correct.  There are no Controlled Devices for the End User (is this the key?)  If this is the direction I need to be looking, what would be the most economical way (in terms of license units) to set up users who no longer have desk phones nor do they use softphones of any kind.

I'm looking forward to utilizing the forums.

The /ccmuser UI is very device-centric. When the DN no longer appears on at least one device associated to that end user you will essentially lose control over it. You have two options:
Configure a Device Profile (i.e. Extension Mobility) for the old user, associate the DN to that, and associate the profile to the old user's End User Configuration page. They will see this in /ccmuser and can again modify CFA.
Login to /ccmadmin, choose Call Routing > Directory Number and set the CFA configuration directly as an admin.
The new user's DN appears because the device (remember, /ccmuser is device-centric) is still associated to the old End User Configuration.
AND when I try and Forward All to the cell phone that also fails.  The last thing is the although I have made no changes to the original user's AD profile (IP phone extension still there) when I dial that extension I get the default for any number we do not have in our AD - that's the fax number pool.
Under /ccmadmin Call Routing > Directory Number you will likely see an Active checkbox near the top of the page. If you want it to keep working you'll need to ensure this is checked. This only appears (and is deselected by default) when the DN is not associated to at least one device.

  • Remove/Add devices associated with my account

Recently I purchased 2 used MBP laptops, 1 new iPhone, gave my old iPhone to my wife, got an iPad from my work, etc...  I'm trying to get all these devices properly associated with my iCloud Account, iTunes, Find my iPhone and My Support Profile.
My head is spinning with all these devices and associations.  So let's start with iCloud & My Support Profile
    1. iCloud > Settings shows one laptop that I have sold and wiped the hard drive, so how can I be signed into it?  It also shows my old iPhone 5, that my wife is now using, so how can I be signed into it?   There is no option to remove these devices.  I clicked the Advanced Tab > Sign Out Everywhere, but that had no effect.  Can this be corrected somehow?
    2. My Support Profile.  I was able to add my new iPhone 6.  Not able to add my (new to me) used MBP.  It says it is associated with another Apple ID.  The previous owner has said he will try and disassociate it from his account, but I'm not sure he is savy enough to figure it out (or just doesn't care).  There is still 6 months left on Apple Care, so I think it's important to correct this.  Can it be without the PO's help?

  • When trying to access music stored on my icloud i get the following warning 'This computer is already associated with an Apple ID'. itunes support say they have 'released' all devices associated with my account but i still have the same problem-any ideas?

cant access music sored in my icloud when using my lap top. any ideas?

iTunes imposes a 90 day wait period before a device can be associated with a different ID.  If iTunes support only removed all devices associated with your ID, this does not override the 90-day wait period.  From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627:
"Removing a device from your Apple ID does not override the 90 day timer. The timer must complete 90 days from the day the device was associated before it can be associated to another Apple ID."
Unless iTune support can override the wait period for you, you have no choice but to wait if you want to download it from iCloud.  If your purchases music is on any of your iOS deivces, you can transfer it to the iTunes library on your computer by authorizing your computer for the Apple ID(s) used to purchase the music (in iTunes, Store>Authorize This Computer), then connecting your device to your computer, opening iTunes, and going to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.

  • How can I change the name of devices associated with my Apple ID in iTunes?

We have 3 iPads and 4 iPhones in our family.  All of the iPads show up on the list of devices associated with my Apple ID as simply "iPad".  All of the iPhones show up simply as "iPhone", even though each device has a distinct name on the device itself (ie. Mark's iPhone).  How can I get the distinct name to show up on the list of devices so I can keep the list updated as we add or remove devices from our collection?

Not it it's an @icloud.com, @me.com or @mac.com address.  In that case your choices are to either create an email alias within the existing account, which delivers email to your existing iCloud inbox (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a490a), or create a new iCoud account.  Note: alias addresses are permanently tied to the account that you create them in; they cannot be used to create a new iCloud account or be moved to a different account in the future.

  • How do I remove a device from my Apple ID and iMessage?

I want to remove an iPod from my Apple ID but I'm not sure how

    Hey Daytona1,
Thanks for the question. In regards to iMessage: You can remove your iOS device by following these steps:
iOS and OS X: Link your phone number and Apple ID for use with FaceTime and iMessage
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5538
How to unlink a phone number
To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone. Sign out in the following locations:
    - Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
    - Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages.
If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.
Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple ID password.
In regard to your iTunes Account/Apple ID: You can manage the devices that have been associated with your Apple ID (iTunes Account) from “View My Account”:
Removing an associated device or computer from an Apple ID
To remove a device or computer from your Apple ID:
    1. Open iTunes.
    2. Sign in to your Apple ID by choosing Store > Sign In from the iTunes menu.
    3. Choose Store > View My Account from the iTunes menu.
    4. From the Account Information screen, click Manage Devices.
    5. Click the Remove button next to the device name you would like to unassociate.
Note: Removing a device from your Apple ID does not override the 90 day timer. The timer must complete 90 days from the day the device was associated before it can be associated to another Apple ID.

  • HT204074 How to remove a device from my Apple ID

I have been sharing an apple ID with my mother for the last few months as she forgot her original apple ID password. Now i want to remove her iphone from my account - can I remove this device without her losing all of her phone numbers and photos etc? Ideally if there is a way for me to keep my own apple account and for her to set up a new one but not lose all her data etc that would be great. Thanks

  • Device associated with my Apple ID in iTunes

    Hi,
There is one more device associated with my Apple ID and I cannot figure it out whose ID that device belongs to. It has been a long time now that device is still linked with my Apple ID for all downloads and purchases from the iTunes App Store. How can I find out the actual Apple ID of that device, I asked the iTunes Support for that ID but my apple id shows up every time obviously that device has been using my ID for all the downloads. Is it possible to get that ID, the user name of that device?

As the device is showing on that screen then it's still tied to your account (so only your account can be being used on it for iTunes Match, automatic downloads, and redownloading past purchases). It's probably unlikely that iTunes Support will tell you if a different account is being used on the phone (or anything else about it).
Does 'RMAK' mean anything to you, and/or have you had any other iPhones in the past that you've since sold or given away, or might you have logged into your account on another phone back in January 2013 ? If you don't know whose phone it is then you could click the 'remove' button, that will stop it using your account, and change your account's password e.g. by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone and logging into it, via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, or via the 'manage your apple id' button on http://appleid.apple.com

Also when I plug my iPod into the computer, it downloads everything that is on my computer, how can I stop this. please help! please help!!!!!!thank you

Is the iPod still singed into the account isn Settings>iTunes and App Stores and SettingsZ>iCloudl? If it is then I would not be concerned.
    Also see:
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID
since you may have started the 90 day window.
For the other "problem", go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and check the box that says Prevent iPod....automatically syncing.

  • I have changed my iphone number (not the model) and it has become disassociated with my pc. How can I reassociate it having removed the device from my Apple account

product - PC Toshiba satellite pro Windows
    Iphone 3 Model MC603b/a
PC and Iphone were previously successfully associated. I have removed the device from the PC but cannot reconnect it

Call AppleCare, because, according to Apple, removing the devices from your support profile should have fixed this issue. You can also try changing your Apple ID password, but given what you've done, I doubt this will help.

  • Exchange 2010 remove one device from ActiveSyncAllowedDeviceIDs

    Hi,
I am wondering if there is a way to remove one device ID from the ActiveSyncAllowedDeviceIDs. I run "get-casmailbox -identity useraccount | format-list" to determine the number of devices in the ActiveSyncAllowedDeviceIDs field. The user may
have multiple devices in this list. I simply want to remove one of these device. I know I can run "set-casmailbox -identity useraccount -ActiveSyncAllowedDeviceIDs $null" , the problem is that will clear all devices.
    Thanks
    Andy Stoyles

You must have ActiveSync quarantine enabled. When you approve a device that was quarantined, it will be added to the ActiveSyncAllowedDeviceIDs
list. If you were to run the above Remove-ActiveSyncDevice command, it will delete the device
association from Exchange which is good, but it doesn't clear the device from the ActiveSyncAllowedDeviceIDs list.
This is an issue, if the user attempts to setup the same device again with ActiveSync they are able to bypass the quarantine because the device still remains on the ActiveSyncAllowedDeviceIDs
    list.
    I hope this helps

  • Cannot start VM - IDE Emulator Failed to Power on with Error 'The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.'

    HI all.
New install of 2008R2 on HP DL-380 G6.  I have created (several) VM's none of which will start.  If I remove the IDE Hard Disk and add a DVD of the OS ISO, it will boot and start the install (although with no HDD).
It seems like the IDE controller is working ok - it is what the DVD drive is using, but it cannot mount a VHD.  The error indicates a driver is not working (although the DVD on IDE works fine) so something to do with VHD?  I can attach the VHD
in disk management, so it does not seem corrupt - again I have tried with both dynamic and fixed VHDs.
    Full error is:

    Hi ShantellePhilips,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your brother's iPad is using your Apple ID and phone number, and you want to remove this association, you can reset your Apple ID password. See this link for more information:
