Removal of navigation bar

This is probably a new-user "stupid" question but...how do I
remove the navigation bar from the bottom of the screen?

I'm new too but I assume you're talking about the media
control bar on a published project that contains play/FF/RW etc...

Removing that navigation bar in the new Preview

Is there any way of removing the navigation bar which appears at the bottom of the screen when you view images in Preview's full-screen mode?
Under older operating systems you could at least move shift it to the side, but now it doesn't seem possible to move it at all.

Thanks Tony - it was "slideshow mode" I should have referred to. The black navigator box doesn't appear in full screen mode.
The point remains about slideshow mode - it used to be possible to move the black navigation box, but now it seems to be stuck bottom centre.

I was working on configuring my persona look and removed the navigation bar, now I cannot get Firefox to allow me to bring it back. I've right clicked all over the header and no option to replace it is given. What do I do?

From the Menu Bar, try View -> Toolbars -> Navigation Bar, and/or View -> Toolbars -> Customize, and '''Restore Default Set''' in the dialog that appears.
If the menu bar isn't visible either, press Alt, then V, T, M to make it stay.
If that doesn't work, you can reset the toolbar customizations, using the ''Reset toolbars and controls'' option in the [[Safe Mode]] dialog with the '''Make changes and Restart''' option: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode#Safe_Mode_window

I created the quick link.
while I call it with the hostnme: port/quicklink it is showing me the whole content inside the small window. I want it to show only the page which I'm calling through a quicklink.

I dont think that this can be done, because look when you design a application say an iview and use it as a quick link, it will inherit all the properties form default framework,you can disable the TLN & Tool area in default framework i.e. you can hide them but this will affect when you login to portal noramally too, this time too it wont show TLN and other details, i could only figure out one option is create a portal desktop --> assign a default frame work --> disable TLN & other areas, and create ont test role and assign this desktop top to this test role & assign your quick link application to this role,Now when you will access by the same URL, again give credentials, it will take you directly inside the role and it wont show you TLN and othe details.

Can someone tell me how to permanently remove the navigation bar so that a user cannot put it back himself. i do not want users to be able to browse to the local c:\ through this navigtion bar. using firefox 7. thanks

i have locked down a client using policy editor for Windows 7.
and i want to restrict a user to one website only via a firefox shortcut on the desktop and to restrict their access to the local system drive which is currently vulnerable using the navigation bar. i know how to right click and rmeove but the user can put this back himself quiet easily and then browse anywhere on the local machine or web.

Even then it won't work.<br />
If the location bar is hidden then you can use Ctrl+L to bring up a pop-up with a location bar.
You would probably need to run Firefox in a sandbox that doesn't allow access to the local file system to get that working properly.

Removing navigation bar from PDF in CE6

I am writing an application for Windows CE6 and I am trying to remove the navigation bars from the PDF presented to the user. The device is loaded with Adobe Reader 9.0. I was told that there is a registry setting that I can change to achieve this functionality but I cannot seem to find it. Could someone help shed some light on my situation?

The registry value name is bExternalTabs. It should be set to a 0 to remove the "Navigation Panel Buttons" and should be removed to enable the functionality. It is placed in the AVGeneral/cDockables registry key. I figured this out by opening a pdf with the Navigation Panel Buttons presented to the user. Then I exported the registry, removed the NPB and exported the registry again. Doing a diff on the two exports revealed what I needed to change.

Removing navigation bar from homepage....

I've noticed on a few iWeb sites that fellow users have created that it's possible to remove the navigation bar that usually resides at the top of the page. I similarly wish to do this as they have done - on my homepage. Can somebody tell me how?

I'm trying to remove the searchbar from the menu and the conventional techniques aren't working, are thereany other ways to remove the search bar?

I'm trying to remove the search bar from the menu, but when I try it removes the navigation bar as well. Mozilla's help page shows there being a button to remove in the customize menu section, but it's not here so is there any other way to remove the search bar?

The Initial view setting works perfectly when the file is opened in Acrobat after setting the desired Initial View.
When you upload the file onto Wordpress, and view it on that website in the browser...it might be using a different pdf handler program which might be causing this issue ( it would be helpful, if you could provide the screenshot) , however when you download the pdf again from wordpress server...and open in Acrobat/Reader...then what exactly happens ? Does the pdf opens in the desired Initial View setting?

Removing icons from the navigation bar.

I have two icons on my navigation bar that I can't remove. One is from Amazon and the other is from Ebay. I've tried holding Command and dragging them into the trash. Nothing. I've tried using the "customize" option and dragging them there. Still nothing. Any ideas? My Macbook has Mountain Lion as OS. Thanks in advance for any help,

Sorry, I should have been more clear. The navigation bar on my web browser, Firefox. There's a navigation bar at the top of the screen, just under the URL address bar. There are some plug in icons here, but somehow also these icons from Amazon and Ebay. I'd like to remove them. What do you think?

How to remove white status bar (or navigation panels) in photo app

Since I downloaded the new iOS7, the status bar (or navigation bars on top and bottom) in the photo app stays and is white. With the older OS version, it was black and disappeared after a couple of second. Now the white bar stays and you do not have a full view of the picture (top and bottom is cut off when holding it lengthwise) Any idea how to remove this? Thanks

Not sure what you mean by "status bar". There are two navigation panels, one at the top and one at the bottom. No, you can't remove those if that is what you mean.

Removing navigation bar safari

When the user navigates from the main menu of my hybrid html app this navigation bar always appears on every subsequent html page and pushes the header down. Is there a way to remove the Safari back button and nav bar seen here? I have custom back/forward buttons within the app already for the user to navigate and ideally need to get it fullscreen. I would appreciate any feedback since I have looked everywhere.

I have been searching as well, and I cannot find a good solution. I do most of my navigating using the navigation bar. Now, what used to take one tap takes two or requires a down swipe to access controls I had before. I would really like to get back the functionality I had before the update.

The link previews in the navigation bar no longer show up in Beta 11, is there a way to re-enable them or have they been permanently removed?

As '''''TonyE''''' has said, in Beta12 ''(if there is one)'' or the RC, it looks now like it is going to be an "overlay" / "tooltip" type of display in the lower left-corner of the browser, very close to where is used to be on the old Statusbar.

tab based navigation bar should disappear until I complete certain steps on the
account page( say, create an account which spans over 2 pages). Only after creation
of account should i see the tabs again.. is it possible?

The files you are looking for to change are located under the framework directory
in your application. The file hportal.inc or vportal.inc has a link to the hnav_bar
or vnav_bar file. So, you can check if certain criteria has happened and then
show the links or not show them. Whichever navbar url you included in the EBCC
tells you which file you should look in
