The information here about uninstalling is correct.
And you should have just used the uninstaller alias inside the Photoshop folder.
The unistaller should not touch or affect Elements.
The beta folder name is the same as the release version (and should not have beta in the name) -- so you can just install the final version without making any additional changes.

Did Russell Brown's Adobe Paper Textures Pro (extension) get removed from Photoshop CC (2014.2)  October release?

I was just about to make a comment on the Discussions page.   I believe that the reason I couldn’t get Paper Textures to work in PS CC (2014.2) is because all (2014) versions of PS are HTML based not Flash based.
Adobe should have called Photoshop CC (2014)     Photoshop CC (HTML)  so we would remember that switch over in their core coding.
Now I have to got to Russell’s script site and get Paper Textures 3.1.0.
    Thanks for helping.

  • I have downloaded Photoshop CC. Can I remove now Photoshop CS6 from my computer

I have downloaded Photoshop CC. Can I remove now Photoshop CS6 from my computer.

    Hi there,
You can have both Adobe Photoshop CC and Adobe Photoshop CS6 on the same system and both will work fine.
In case you need to remove photoshop CS6 from your system, you will first have to deactivate it so save the activation count which you can use it for the future to reactivate.
    Activation:
Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet.
    Start the application.
Choose Help > Deactivate and choose one of the following options.
Deactivate or Suspend Activation. These options deactivate the software but retain licensing information. Choose one of these options if you want to temporarily deactivate the software, and you're planning to activate on this computer again.
Deactivate permanently. This option deactivates the software and removes the licensing information from your computer. Enter the serial number again if you want to use the software on this computer.
    Deactivation:
CS6: You log in with your Adobe ID to activate your software when you install it or within the first seven days of use. Follow the steps below.
    Steps:
Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet.
    Start the application.
Choose Help > Activate. (If this option is dimmed, you've already activated your software)
Log in with your Adobe ID (usually your email address) to activate your software. If you don’t have an Adobe ID, you see an option to create one.
Optional (CS5 & earlier): After you activate, also register your Adobe product for faster and easier access to support and upgrades.
If you need the free download link for CS6, you can visit [  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/other-downloads.html  ]
    Thank you

  • Can I remove safely Photoshop CS5 after a successful upgrade to Photoshop CS6?

Can I remove safely Photoshop CS5 after a successful upgrade to Photoshop CS6? What is best and safest way to do this?

If you are using a Windows OS
Open CS5 and go Help > Deactivate.
Then Control Panel > Programs and features > select CS5 and uninstall.
Or just leave it there.  Make sure you have sorted any third party plugins from CS5, although the uninstall should leave them intact.

  • Zoom to 'Print Size' feature completely removed from Photoshop 13.0.2

Adobe decided to remove the 'Print Size' button/option from the 'Zoom' tool in Photoshop 13.0.2
I use this heavily as I run a print lab and I often need to show people on screen what the size of their print will be (I have set the correct ppi for each display in preferences).
I am absolutely amazed they could remove a feature like this without any warning in a minor update. The irony is that for the first time ever retina displays have enough resolution to assess sharpness without going to 100% and the 'View Print Size' is more useful that ever before.
I will probably have to roll back to the last Photoshop version on all systems but before I do, does anyone know if there is a way to get the 'Print Size' option back???
    Thanks!

  • U3d removed from Photoshop CS6

There's a thread on the photoshop.com forum regarding the removal of U3D support, but if I try to sign up to comment there, I get a message saying that registration is no longer possible for their forum, so I'm posting this here...
With version 13.0.2, U3D support was REMOVED from Photoshop CS6.
3D is becoming an increasingly popular format to provide for our clients. I work in a prepress environment. The whole suite of Adobe products is integral to a prepress workflow, but it seems that Adobe has been abandoning instead of embracing a growing movement towards 3D.
We started offering 3D pdfs to clients a few years ago and since then, Adobe has ceased developing Adobe Toolkit for 3D and Adobe Acrobat 3D. We actually have to hold on to old PCs running old OSes just so that we can still produce 3D pdfs. Since Toolkit and Acrobat 3D are now extinct, one workaround to getting U3Ds into Acrobat to make 3D pdfs was to export out of Photoshop. As of now, it is the only Adobe software that I'm aware of that was able to produce the only format (U3D) that Acrobat Pro was able to import, and now this very last option has been removed! Unbelievable, that as the demand for 3D in our business is growing exponentially, that Adobe has completely severed off it's last flimsy workaround for writing U3D files. There is now NO Adobe software that can make a U3D for bringing into Acrobat to make 3D PDFs. In other words, absolutely no way for someone using the latest batch of CS software to ever create a 3D PDF. Am I wrong? (Also, U3D was removed INTENTIONALLY?!) It seems that Adobe is purposefully destroying any/every method of creating 3D PDFs. So who's the genius that decided that 3D is on the way out? Our 3D department has been growing and getting busier over the last couple of years.
More importantly for me, I need to import a 3D in photoshop right now. Is there some other way to do it, other than uninstalling and bringing Photoshop back to version 13.0.1?

Bump, and I just tried logging in to http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/cant_export_u3d_files_in_photoshop_v 13_0_2 using the same login/pass that works just fine at this forum. At the above site, I still get the error message. If someone can pass on my message to the topic there, I'd be grateful.
I'm still hoping u3d support will be reinstated, and that 3d pdfs are saved from the brink of extinction by Adobe. Btw, if you do restore u3d support, please make it in a dot release so all CS6 users can get back what was removed in one of the previous dot releases (it still sounds ridiculous when I read it back to myself). It's only fair. If it becomes a "cloud" only thing it will only make Adobe look even worse, taking AWAY a functionality in a CS6 dot release and then reinstating it in a cloud release that I'd have to subscribe to. (I can't, I work in a large digital prepress company and we will only be getting the site version that we paid for)

  • Color Removal in Photoshop

OK, so I'm wondering why there isnt the specific function to select a color or color range, and then use a slider to fade out a given color from the image
yes, I'm aware of Select > Color Replacement, but to be honest it does a superficially good job that doesnt hold up to close scrutiny when used as a method of dropping out background colors
Also, odds are whatever color or color range you are dropping out are also colors contained in the image you want to keep
Meaning half of your image may drop out to transparency as well
one way to quickly repair this problem is to duplicate the original image then just use a giant eraser to very quickly remove all but the main item you want to keep, then, run the eraser around the entire edge, hoping no important pixels go missing around the edges.. I use this all the time.
another quick repair is to create a new back-ground layer that is similar in single color to the multiple colors you removed and then use the eraser to run around the edges quickly.. I've used this on many occasions too
another quick repair is to duplicate whats left of your image about 20-50 times, then merge all those layers, and perhaps touch up with a brush on an underlayer to replace any missing background color
of course, the problems with these methods, which I like to call my "Insta-Mask" methods, is that edges around the object look terrible at a full contrast B/W Mask level...there's actually just alot of noise, because of the transition in photographic images from one color or object to the next.. and its like that for most any image thats not purely a graphic..
its good for sliding away with something thats not too important that you need done quick, but thats about it
.. And I understand masking, Channel Duplication, Combination, Calculations, Blending Modes, Levels, Variations, Opacity, Hardness, Edge Refining, Contracting, etc, etc, etc.. and yes, I Can make very beautiful masks for most any object regardless of how blended in with the background it is.. I owe that largely to my days using the First Version of Photoshop, when basically everything we did was at a Pixel level, and I do quite enjoy it (though its time consuming), as well as the tools available for making it alot easier
And I dislike the Magic Wand immensely, for removing colors, and it only works with a couple kinds of images/graphics, and even then, its not really that nice at all
I also do Pen Tool Masking from time to time, as the situation requires
but there is a function missing in Photoshop , which its capable of doing, which would make things alot easier, but which hasnt been included to date.
and that's the ability to drop out colors or color ranges BASED on Tolerances to the adjacent color pixels, with a feather & Refine edge function
This should of course be equivalent to true pixel masking, and simply and easily drops a color out of existence in your background without dropping all that color from your entire image, and without you having to use the tragic wand and other crude, general selection tools which ruin the masking field
I mean, I dont see why its not there
or simpler yet, just a slider that lets us drop out certain colors to transparency, would be a great start

imagine you could use the marquee tool or a selecting-brush to drag or brush over some background elements, weeds in a field, Mountains, Buildings, Skies, etc.. adding the selected colors & patterns to the number of colors & objects to be removed..
then use the same brush to brush over colors & elements you want to keep, and the values for those colors are stored separately, even if some of the values are the same
then, you drag a brush around the object you want to remove from the photo, where the object meets the background, which must have a start-point, and an end point which returns to the start point..
Photoshop then calculates the location of items to keep as inside the closed brush line, and items to disappear as outside that brushed line
Tolerances can be individually set with an Eye-dropper between a blue shirt sleeve you want to keep, inside the brush mark, and the blue sea, blue car, or blue sky adjacent to that sleeve, outside the brush mark,..
you can add another combination of "Near Tolerances" by clicking "Add a Near Tolerance", then you select the green shoes inside the line, multi-select add, then click next, and click the green grass outside the region.. also additive multi-select
Photoshop then remembers the regions, the colors, patterns, and values, and all the other information you gave it (the only real important thing being what happens directly under the brush line you painted around your object, as it will automatically delete everything outside of that), click "Extract" and the object of your desire is removed perfectly

  • Removal of Photoshop CS6 Beta

I installed Photoshop CS6 Beta and I just removed it using the uninstaller under Applications/Utility/Adobe Installers/Adobe Photoshop uninstaller alias. I had to find it myself as the information on the Web is wrong. Obviously I am on a Mac (Lion 10.7.4), but now that it has been removed, I still have an Adobe Photoshop 6 Beta folder in Applications that was not removed. Do I just delete the folder or do I need to do something else?
I did find the Adobe Creative Cleaner Tool but I also have Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 installed.  Can I use the uninstaller tool and not damage the Elements installation?  I just want to be sure before I jump.  I do have a full, bootable backup of my installation just in case something goes wrong.
    Thank you,
    Gerry

The information here about uninstalling is correct.

  • Is it necessary to remove the Photoshop CS6 Beta before installing the trial?

I installed the CS6 Design and Web Premium trial while I wait for my ordered update disk to arrive.  I have the PS CS6 Beta installed and I note that the trial installation did not install CS6 Photoshop or CS6 Bridge.  ????????????

In the future please remove beta software prior to installing released versions of the software.  Presently I would recommend you uninstall not only the Photoshop CS6 beta but also the Design and Web Premium trials as well.  Once the software has been removed, including the beta, you can then try the reinstall again.
Hopefully it will be as simple as this but if not please feel free to respond to this thread with any additional difficulties which arise.

  • How to remove Adobe photoshop DS3 extended from my computer so I can get new program?

I tried to load from my older disk adobe photoshop CS3 extended and it will not work. So I want to remove it and download a newer program. My Question: How do I delete or remove the old program. I have a Apple MACPro desktop with OSX10.9.4. I could get the new upgrade to OSX Yosemite (sorta wanted to wait to upgrade as it is a new program). Thank you for helping me,

The only connection that might apply to the music not syncing is that the iPod is not signed into the itunes account that purchased the music.  To resolve that, on the iPod go to Settings>Store and sign out of the existig account and sign into the correct one.  Also see:

  • Can't remove old Photoshop Elements 2.0

I found an old PSE 2.0 application still installed on my PC (XP SP3) that I would like to remove. The old PSE 2.0 application actually runs, but I am unable to remove it using the normal add/remove programs method ... it returns the message "an error occured" when I try that. I understand that re-installing the program, etc. is one possible approach to correct the uninstall file corruption, however, I long ago misplaced the original CD. So, is there an Adobe utility to remove their software in such cases? If not, is there another method to get this stubborn program out? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

you can upgrade to pse 12 but you'll need a valid pse 2 serial number to activate the upgrade version of pse 12, http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-elements/buying-guide.displayTab3.html

  • Retry of unsuccessful installation of Photoshop Elements fails because it cannot find files which it believes to be present in order to remove them first.

W7 CD of both Photoshop Element and Premiere Elements 12:  Could get the Organizer of Photoshop installed and working but could not install the editor completely; Premiere Elements seemed to install OK but I was at the time only interested in using Photoshop so did not verify this.  Read instructions in Troubleshoot Installation, and for convenience dragged the CD files to the C Drive.  I then re-ran the installation process, which initially tries to uninstall the existing installation but this failed as it stated that some files were in use.  I ended up uninstalling Premiere Elements because of the shared components but this made no difference.  I used Windows Remove Programs tool but it stated that some files were in use so could not be removed.  I used autoruns to search for and prevent from launching at Startup, all Adobe s/w, then searched for and tried to remove all Photoshop files but got the same message.  I have subsequently discovered that I need to remove them in a specific order, next I ran CCleaner to clear the registry.  Still the same problem, so tried the install from a Clean Boot.  Same problem, the wording is currently Error 2343 Specified Path is empty.  I re-installed Premiere Elements which appears again to be OK before try to re-install Photoshop Elements - the same error message appears.  The Start search box finds 3 register entries for Photoshop but no files.  The register entries date are from earlier installation attempts on different dates: cc_20141016_211910.reg     ......_141008.reg   .........._213127   Should these be manually deleted?  Any other suggestions?

    Thank you very much.
I did uninstall Adobe Air, Adobe Reader XI and another Adobe product, rebooted, and after this the installation was possible with no problems!
