Removal of Processor in a V210 Server

Hello Folks,
Our current V210 server has 2 processors and in order to minimize Oracle costs I'd like to either disable one processor or remove it, and make our current server the backup server. Is disabling or removing easier? If I'll need to remove it then does Sun's service plan require a licensed technician to do it or do they allow a regular user to do it?
Thanks!

Just switch it off. We had to do this in a previous company, too, when we discovered that we had licensing issues.
As you already pointed out, there's no technician required for this.
Cheers,

  • Things to consider when removing from AD domain a SQL Server 2008 which includes Reporting Services

Do any one have a link to a list of things to consider when removing from AD domain a SQL Server 2008 which includes Reporting Services, Analysis Services and Integration Services?
I am taking from an Active Directory domain several servers with SQL 2008 and Reporting Services, Analysis Services and Integration Services. The server will stay on its own without association to any domain, the server will keep its IP address and
the server will not change names.
I have done some research and I got the basic steps including, removing the user accounts from the domain, changing the services accounts, changing jobs and databases from being owned by users from the domain. But...
Are there other things in Reporting Services, Analysis Services and Integration Services internal databases that have an association with the domain AND that will fail after no longer being in the domain?
I've heard of Reporting Services subscriptions failing when the domain user account is no longer there...Are there any other got ya's that any one has encountered?
    Please advice.
Note: I am posting in this forum basically because of what I heard on Reporting Services, but it may be a better idea to post into a more broad forum such as SQL Server Migration section.
    Thanks beforehand

  • How to Remove Business Partner Address using DI Server

    Hello,
I need to remove Business Partner Addresses using DI Server, the example in the SDK only mentions the remove of the entire business partner, but I need to delete only one of the business partner addresses, how can it be done?

    Hi,
the usage of the "UpdateWithSubDeletion" method of B1 object atom might be an option.
You need to update the complete business Partner with the changed amount of addresses.
The usage is tricky, you need to retrieve the BP, which you want to update, first via synchronous retrieval method using import/export mode.
From the retrieval result you should start to update every segment with all fields including the BPAddresses segment in exactly the same sorting order as displayed from the synchronous retrieval.
    Best regards

If you just want to configure bge0 ... until next reboot:

If you want to make it persistent after next reboot:

  • How Can I Remove a Secondary Site When The Server no Longer Exists?

This organisation deployed a new SCCM site and then decommissioned the server before successfully removing either the site or the server/roles.
I tried to force the removal of the site which failed:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\bin\X64\00000409>preinst.exe /delsite xxx
Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager v5.00 (Build 7804)
    Copyright (C) 2011 Microsoft Corp.
Cannot find site [xxx] in the site control data in the database. Checking in ServerData in the database.
    Failed to execute SQL query.
The secondary site is showing in the console as 'deleting'.
Can anyone advise the best way to proceed?
    Thanks.

I had the same issue and this is what they sent me... I used it and it worked for me.
    1.       Please follow these steps to manually delete the
Secondary Site from the Secondary site server
    2.       We also used the PREINST tool to remove the pending jobs.
    3.       On the ConfigMgr primary site (parent) computer, click Start, and then click Run.
    4.       Type cmd in the Open box, and then click OK.
    5.       At the command prompt, type cd\, and then press the ENTER key.
    6.       Type cd sms\bin\i386\00000409, and then press the ENTER key.
    7.       To remove any pending or active jobs to a site, type Preinst /DELJOB SiteCode , and then press the ENTER key.
    8.       We deleted the Secondary Site from the console of parent  site.
    9.       We removed the Sender Addresses from the Configuration Manager console, as explained below.
    10.   Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Systems Management Server, and then click ConfigMgr Administrator Console.
    11.   Locate the Site Settings\Addresses subtree.
    12.   Right-click the address for the failed secondary site, and then click Delete.
    13.   Then we cleaned the registry, by taking the backup of the HKLM Node

    11.   Locate the Site Settings\Addresses subtree.
    12.   Right-click the address for the failed secondary site,
    and then click Delete.
Can you confirm you have run these steps on your own SCCM 2012 site?

  • Removing or deactivating CWA when one server was deleted.

I have a situation where we have a Lync 2010 environment with a trusted application setup for CWA.  However, we are no longer supporting the use of CWA so I would like to properly remove it from our environment.
Normally this would be a simple matter of deactivating CWA.  However, one of the CWA servers got shutdown and deleted during some sort of clean-up process without our knowledge.  Is there a safe way I can make sure that machine is removed from
AD properly (as if it were deactivated) so it does not cause any conflicts down the road?
I was planning to remove the trusted application from the Lync Topology then deactivate the remaining CWA server.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
All of the virtual servers created on the Communicator Web Access server must be deleted before you can deactivate a Communicator Web Access server.
Deactivation also removes the server from the Communicator Web Access snap-in. However, this does not delete the Communicator Web Access files from the computer. To do that, you need to uninstall the software by using either Programs and
Features (that is, on Windows Server 2008) or Add or Remove Programs (that is, on Windows Server 2003).
You can refer to the link below of “Deactivating a Communicator Web Access Server”:

  • How to remove custom authentication provider in weblogic server 11g

    Hi ,
I am trying to remove the custom authentication provider in weblogic server 11g, It disappears when i delete it from list of authentication providers. But upon server restart it appears again.
Documentation for 10g says delete it from service administration but i couldn't find one in 11g. Please help me in removing the custom authentication provider
    Thanks
    Sandeep

You can try editing the config.xml file and removing it there. (Re: After provider reorder I cannot login admin server console
If you are referring to a jar file - custom authenticators are usually placed in the <middleware-home>wlserver_10.3/server/lib/mbeantypes/ directory.

  • How do you remove virtual desktops from a Windows Server 2012 R2 Pooled VDI collection

All - I have created a Pool VDI Collection with 15 total virtual desktops in it. I need to reduce the number of virtual desktops in that collection to five. I have searched through the GUI, TechNet and done a number of Google searches but nothing helpful
comes back. Does anyone know how to do this?
I am guessing I cannot just delete them out of Hyper-V since the collection knows how many desktops it is supposed to have assigned to it.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Will,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
We can use PowerShell command “Remove-RDVirtualDesktopFromCollection“ to achieve your goal.
PS C:\> Remove-RDVirtualDesktopFromCollection -CollectionName "Virtual Desktop Pool" -VirtualDesktopName @("RDS-WKS-A27") -ConnectionBroker "rdcb.contoso.com"

  • What are the steps to remove SMS Provider traces from a server

    Hi,
My client's environment is set up with a standalone primary site. They decided to install a second SMS Provider on a site system also running the Reprting Services Point to provide redundancy in the case the SMS Provider on the primary site
    would go down.
They experienced a problem with the server running the second SMS Provider and it went down for about a day. The behavior for SCCM console users was to get an error message preventing them to connect to SCCM; they had to close the console and re-launch it
so it would randomly connect to the SMS provider on the primary site successfully. When a SMS provider is down, it seems the console won't redirect itself automatcally to another provider when trying to connect.
Since it was causing some frustration because console users had to launch it several times before they could connect, someone removed the second SMS Provider using the Site Maintenance wizard on the primary site. The thing is the wizard ran while the second
SMS Provider was down, it removed traces of this SMS Provider from the site configuration, but couldn't remove the actual SMS Provider files and registry entries since the server was down.
Now, only one SMS Provider is active on the primary site server, but we have orphaned SMS Provider files and registry keys on the site system server. Is there a way to remove them cleanly? The site system is still running the Reporting Services Point, so
we cannot remove everything related to SCCM.
Now we prefer to keep a single SMS Provider on the primary site server, since SCCM is not consider critical to the business anyway, and to avoid this issue in the future.
My guess would be to reinstall the SMS Provider from the Site Maintenance wizard and remove it after, but I just want to have feedback from people who might have deal with it in the past.
    Tnx for help
    Patrick

    Hi,
Could you install the SMS Provider from the Site Maintenance wizard while SMS Provider files and registry entries are still there? Please have a look on the thread below, although it is for sccm 2007.

  • Remove and re-add old NW65 server in mixed NW/Linux Tree 614

Wasn't sure where to post this as it's really an eDirectory issue caused by trying to remove and re-add a rebuilt NW65 server.
We have a mixed Netware and Linux Tree and due to some very strange hardware issues the Netware server completely died and corrupted DS. Novell assisted getting the server back in to the tree using this TID https://www.netiq.com/communities/co...ster-recovery/ without the rebuild and everything was pretty good.
Then Disaster 2 occurred, the Hardware failed completely and tanked the Netware server again. We've now completely replaced the Chassis, controller and drives and done a clean NW install in a new tree. Restored the SYS and DATA volumes from tape (Backup Exec 9.2 for NW) which has now 'broken' then temp tree as expected (error -6061) as the restored NICI is now unable to work with the new tree.
So we're at step 5 again of the DR doc mentioned above. When we did this previously it worked fine. But it looks like something from the previous NCP server object delete is still stuck somewhere, we now get an error -614 "An attempt was made to add a duplicate value to the specified property" and we can't delete the NCP server object from ConsoleOne. I'm assuming it's something to do with the "Unknown Base Class" attribute which was set from the previous time the server was removed from the tree, I'm assuming that it's trying to add the attribute and it's already there (I can still see it in iMonitor). Can I clean this up so I can remove the server from the tree?
I have a Chat session on hold waiting for Novell, but this could take a couple of hours for a response.
    TIA,
    Mark.

I think this is going to need a dialin from NTS.

  • Is it possible to remove a crash report from the server?

I clicked on the Crash Reporter button thinking that it would let me review the report before it was sent out. Unfortunately, all it did was send the report. I do not want that report on the server and I would like to have it removed but I do not know how to go about this.
    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (SP1)
    FF: 17.0.1

There is no personal Information on a crash Report unless you put something personally identifiable in the comment field. For example, here is a crash report I had on my machine awhile back: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/bp-1de8924f-7068-4702-a410-89c492121220.
You can go to about:crashes in your address bar, and click on the report to view the info there to satisfy yourself that there is nothing in the report. But submitting crash reports is very useful because it gives us the ability to view what crashes are plaguing our users and what we need to fix.
