Remove 24gb of corrupt data after 8.1 update

I have recently upgraded to iOS 8.1 on my iTouch. Now I have aver 20GB of corrupt data on it which prevents an synch from working and, although it shows as present, playing most of my music. HELP! smile. I've tried a restore. It goes through the process, asks me to update, and ends up with the same problem. Is there any way I can get my music back? The apps and everything else work fine. On summary it says I have 6.4 GB left but as soon as I start to synch it comes up with about 25 GB of 'other' data and cannot synch. Hope this is enough info.

That worked! I had to restore my music library because someone else had suggested I remove it (saving the files). It wasn't too bad. Some of the apps aren't coming up right but everything else is working fine. I still have about 1.5 gb of OTHER. At one time it got up to 45 GB of OTHER. YIKES! Knew it was a corrupted file. Just didn't know the best way to get rid of it. Thanks for your help in working through this problem.

Hi, the App Store icon has been removed from my iPad even after synching and updating. Any suggestions on how to get it back to be able to update / purchase apps?

If you do not have, or remember, the passcode for Restrictions, the only option available to you is to reset the device to factory settings via itunes.

  • App did not Restore Data after iOS 4 update on 3G

One App - Magic Pad , a note App failed to restore all my notes after my G3 updated to iOS 4? None of the notes restored. These are mostly important Business / Technical notes and I need them badly, any suggestions are appreciated.

I was able to fix the issue. I had to manually put the phone in restore mode by holding the power button and the home button until the power turned off while the phone was still plugged into the computer, then when the phone turned off continue holding the home button until you hear the computer recognize the device. Then navigate to the back up folder that is described earlier and cut out all of the back up folders and paste them on your desktop. Then iTunes said that a device was recognized in restore mode or something like that and you click yes to restore. After this happen the iPhone will go through the processes of restoring the phone. When it finishes it will start like a brand new device and it will be updated to the OS4.0. You will then need to go through the tabs at the top of the iPhone sync window and re check all of the items that you want synced to your phone. The only data that was totally lost was my pictures, but after the iPhone finishes reloading, you may be able to go back to the desktop and cut the backup folders and paste them back into the backup folder and restore your phone from a previous back up and you may still be able to recover those photos. This worked for me so I hope it works for all of you as well. Thanks!

  • Is there any way to save my data after i have updated my phone and backed it up first

Is there any way to retrive or save my data after updating my phone and its locked, asking to restore to original settings in itunes.

If there is a passcode on your iPhone, which you don't know, there is no way around it. You'll have to restore factory settings. The passport is meant to protect sensitive data, and that is, what it does.

  • Corrupted data after updating from Palm 4.1 to 6.2.2

I am about to go from a Treo 680 to a palm pre and decided to download
the 6.2.2 version of the palm software.  This is the version I need to use the 3rd party software
to sinc my new palm pre and my lap top. my data is corrupted,,any suggestions,,,
Post relates to: Treo 680 (AT&T)

Corrupted where; on the device or in Palm DT 6.2.2? If the data is corrupted on the Treo then you can download Pimlico DB Fixit to find and correct (free to locate problems, pay to fix issues) any corruptions. Get the software from Pimlico.com. If the data is only corrupted within Palm DT (which is not usually not the case) you can create a new user, then export you data from the original user to a file, and then import the data from the file to the new user under File, Import / Export. This has to be repeated for all PIM data items, Contacts, Datebook, Tasks, and Memos. You must also select a range of all so all items are backed up.

  • IPhone No Longer Sorts Podcasts By Release Date After 3.1 Update

After upgrading to iPhone OS 3.1 and iTunes 9.0(70) Podcasts on the iPhone no longer sort according to their release date. The ordering is definitely not alphabetical or any of the other user selectable sorting options. If I had to guess I'd say it's sorting them by reverse download order (which when you update less frequently than once a day is quite confusing since iTunes downloads most recent first). Is this a problem with the iPhone OS, iTunes or an option that I'm missing somewhere (the iTunes podcast tab is set to sort by release date).

I'm thinking this is not a iphone 3.1 upgrade issue, as the only thing I have upgraded is to iTunes 9 and I am having the exact same problem. After upgrading my phone did lock up really bad. The screen was on, was showing slide to unlock but was totally unresponsive to the home and sleep buttos. Plugging it back into the computer also did nothing. I had to hard restart it with the home and sleep button in sych.
My Podcasts have no sorting capability what so ever. There is no logical reason they are so jumbled up.

  • Iphone 3G Recover Lost Data After iOS 4 Update

I am able to manage my iphone to go back previous backup and restore all calendar - contacts - Lockbox Pro Passwords etc...(data stored for all applications)
First I would like to mention that you should have Windows 7 or maybe you can use Windows XP restore function.
    For Win 7:
    C:\Users\"Your User Name Folder"\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync
    Find the file Named Backup
Then right click the folder and go to properties and form the upper tabs choose "Previous Versions" (Copy the original Backup folder to your desktop for maybe future need.)
Then from the bottom choose "Restore"
Please note that Itunes should be closed that time and you must have a back up for some time ago.
After that you can use the usual Restore function of Iphone from Itunes.
When restoring choose the correct backup file by checking from the date of its creation.
When it is complete you will have all your previous data in your iphone.
    Hope This Helps...

  • Lost data after a phone update?

    Hi all,
I have a Nokia N95 and ran an update on my phone- I was careful to back-up all my data using PC Suite before updating. After the update i had gone back to the factory settings and had absolutely none of my data on their at all.
So i went back to Nokia PC Suite and the Content Copier to reload my data- but..... it cant find my save data!
I have used the restore option and asked it find the data itself which it cant- and have tried searching the location it states it would have been saved in- but once again nothing!!
I states and confirms the data was saved yesterday so it must be their somewhere!
Can anyone please help because at the moment i have no contacts, picture, etc!!
Any help would be gratefully appreciated- many thanks

  • IPhone overheating, sending massive amounts of data after iOS 5 update

After finally upgrading to iOS5 on my iPhone 4 yesterday, I unplugged it and went to work today.  In 2 hours with almost no usage battery was down to 32%, phone was very hot, and checking my data usage it was up to nearly 1GB this morning.  I closed all apps except mail, phone and did a reboot.  Now, in the last hour it's used another 90MB.  What in the world could the phone be doing to cause this?

There's multiple threads in here already that cover this, but here's my take:
My wife's 4S has this issue as well (200MB plan) and it used 130MB in one night at 12am while we were asleep.  Interestingly my 4S does not have this extrenous 3G data usage.  So I turned off 2 settings with hers that will hopefully help, but will only know as time passes.
    1. Settings > iCloud > Documents & Data > Use Cellular > OFF
    2. Settings > General > About > Diagnostics & Usage > Don't Send
I think #1 will definitely have an impact to cellular usage, I doubt #2 will do much.
Also, if you're really paranoid you can turn off photo stream and iCloud backup however, both of those say it will only use Wifi data for each but who knows...

  • Cisco Historical Report no displays data after an CCX update

    Hi team.
I have an issue with the Cisco Historical Report.
On December 14 we performed a version update of UCCX:
    New Version 8.5.1.11004-25
    Old Version 8.5.1.10000-37
Now I am informed by the Call Center Supervisor can not generate reports in the CHR with dates before 14 December.
When you request a report, for example, the 1st to March 31, 2012, the error "No report data to display the specified date range." (See attached image Cisco Historical Report (4). JPG).
When asked the same report, but from the 1st to 31 January 2013, the report is generated successfully and the Supervisor can see the data.
Anyone have idea why this happens?. You should not miss the update data to make and less with the UCCX server restart. Or can it?.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards.

  • Problem getting correct data from MS Access after doing an Update

    Hi all,
I have a problem getting correct data after doing an update. This is the scenario
I am selecting some(Eg: All records where Column X = 7 ) records and update a column with a particular value (SET Column X = c ) in all these records by going through a while loop. In the while loop I add these records to a vector too, and pass it as the return value.
After getting this return value I go through a for loop and get each record one by one from the DB and check if my previous update has actually happened. Since No errors were caught while updating DB, I assume all records are updated properly but my record set shows one after another as if it has not been updated. But if I open the DB it is actually updated.
This does not happen to all records, always it shows like this
    1st record     Mode = c
    2nd record     Mode = 7
    3st record     Mode = c
    4nd record     Mode = 7
    9th record     Mode = c
    10th record     Mode = 7
I am relatively new to java and this is someone elses code that I have to modify,So I am not sure if there some thing wrong in the code too

  • Numbers 2.1 when exported as an excel file and my application tries opening it, it says file contains corrupt data.

I recently updated my iPad to the latest iOS 7 and updated my numbers app to 2.1. When i export it to a excel file and then when my C# application(using gembox library) tries reading it, i would get an error "file contains corrupt data". before making the update to iOS 7 and before updating my numbers the process worked fine!

That didn't work for me and the page times out right about 5
minutes (300 seconds). I don't have timeout checked in the CF
Administrator so I don't think it is CF that is causing the
timeout. I checked IIS also and the timeout is set to 900 seconds.
Is there a possibility that SQL Server has some sort of
connection limit and I'm using too many cfquery tags? If anyone has
experienced a similar problem I would really appreciate the help,
    thanks.

  • IPhoto for iOS removes the GPS exif data from the photo after an edit

iPhoto for iOS removes the GPS exif data from the photo after an edit
Using the iPhone camera, I take a photo and then I want to make the photo a little brighter.
So, I edit a photo using iPhoto for iOS and then save the photo back to the camera roll.
Now, I might want to see where that photo was taken via another app (like Photo Mapo) or on the map using the Photos app, or even the Mac iPhoto app.
However, the GPS data has been removed. Looks like all of the other exif data is still in the photo.
Why not just have a feature to remove the GPS data if the user wants? no reason to remove it for them.
The user explictily chose to have location services turned on so the GPS data would be in the photo.
    Is this a bug?
    Thanks,
    Brian.

First thing to try is a reboot of your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.
None of my cameras has a GPS function so I never see that data in the info of a photo in iPhoto for iOS. But I do see the map choice to set a location for the photo. Perhaps a reboot will fix this for you.
