REMOVE A PLUGIN

Recently i install a plugin in my final cut 7, now want to remove it but i don't know how , the name of this one is FxFactory i need some help thanks.

Just to give the OP the benefit of the doubt...
I installed FxFactory on my FCP6.0.3 and OX10.5.2. Locked up FCP. ALSO locked up the FxFactory app so I could NOT open it to uninstall it. Manually trashed all I could find which allowed me use again of FCP, but whenever I start up FCP I get a FxFactory Pro splash screen so obviously I missed something. But at least FCP works.
So after reading this post I open up the disk image I still have on my computer and decided to choose the uninstall option. Went into Custom Install and couldn't find the uninstall option. Only Install. Afraid to install again just to go into the Action menu to uninstall as you suggested because last time it locked up the application where I couldn't even do that. So yes you did repeat yourself often and he didn't listen, but not quite as simple as it should be.
BTW, I contacted FxFactory and they gave me an IMMEDIATE response--I was impressed as it was late at night. Said didn't work reliably on my OS and to upgrade. Not ready to do that yet but they get brownie points for responding quickly, although he never did answer my question as to exactly all the items I needed to delete when I was trying to do it manually.

  • What do I lose by removing "Quicktime Plugin.plugin"?

After upgrading to Leopard (Erase and install, then migrate data from a backup off an external HD), all the flash videos and ads had the Quicktime icon with a question mark on it. After searching through Apple discussions and google, I found a site that suggested removing "Quicktime Plugin.plugin" from the library folder. It seemed like a strange fix but I did it anyway since I already went into Quicktime prefs and unchecked "Enable Flash." I also reinstalled Adobe flash player for Safari- both with no luck.
So what will I be losing by removing this plugin? I'm assuming its a necessary plugin.
Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi
So what will I be losing by removing this plugin? I'm assuming its a necessary plugin.
Very necessary. In answer to your question, have a look at this thread, especially QuickTimeKirk's post.
Have you checked your System Preferences>Quicktime>Advanced>Mime Settings panel? In the Miscellaneous panel only QuickTime HTML ought to be selected. If the other boxes are selected, then you'll have problems with QT in Safari.
Regarding Flash, if you reinstalled it, then make sure you "repair permissions" via Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.

  • How to remove unwanted plugins (and no I don't want to read any unrelated articles that never answer your question)?

I want to clear out the unwanted plugins in Fire Fox . One plugin even has a warning about not using it (Java Deployment Toolkit). But every time I ask "how to remove a plugin?" , I am redirected to an article that doesn't answer the question. And then the circular argument begins again without ever actually answering the question.
IS IT NECESSARY TO UNINSTALL FIREFOX TO REMOVE A PLUGIN??????

Plugins like ex Flash and Java etc are not installed in Firefox like Extensions and Themes are. They are on system and Firefox has found and is making use of them. This is why you can only activate/deactivate which tells Firefox to make use of that Plugin on system or not.

  • FCX 10.1.1 : unable to completely remove a plugin

    Hello!
I removed the plugin C2 TrackX but it still appears inside FCX: it doesn't work though, it's only a black frame now.
I checked the plugin inside my Moton Templates, i couldn't find it. Same in Application Support / Final Cut Pro...
    Thanks.

Jim, those folders don't exist (pictures).
    fox_m, it's a CoreMelt product, not FxFactory.
Innocentius, i already used the uninstaller plugin and it doesn't do it properly:
    "Full Uninstall CM Pluguins"
    "Remove CorMelt Plugins"
I think it removes some TrackX files, but it's steel appears in FCX (picture in my first post). Of course it' a ghost plugin now, i have a black frame when i try to use it.
"Remove SliceX" does work for SliceX
I was expecting a "Remove TrackX" but no...
I asked Roger Bolton from CoreMelt, no solutions yet.

  • TOTAL removal of PlugIns

Could someone please remind me how to exactly remove a plugIn (AU) from GB (COMPLETELY), with no traces left behind.
I am trying to streamline the application and remove items (Loops, AUs ) I hardly ever use.
I have found, with experience, that GB runs more efficiently with less baggage to access while making music.
    Thank YoRJC

Wher did you install the plug-in? For all users or only for you?
If you plug-in came with an uninstaller, it will be best to use that uninstaller.
The plug-ins for all user will be found in the System library - check the subfolders of and delete them from this folder.
         /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/
And the plug-ins installed for you will be in the corresponding folder in the library in your home folder:
    ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/
Some plug-ins will be instaled in /Library/Components, and these usually create launch services that require tricky uninstalling and are really better left to the uninstallers coming with the plug-in.

  • Two Adobe Acrobat Plugins In Firefox ... Want to Remove Outdated Plugin

Creative Cloud Customer with all Adobe software current
    Windows 8 Pro 64 bit
    Adobe Acrobat Pro XI 11.0.2
    Firefox 19.0.1
In looking at my Plugins, I notice that I have two Adobe Acrobat, one 11.0.0.379 and the other 11.0.2.0. The last one seems to match my Adobe Acrobat Pro version number. I assume the 11.0.0.379 is outdated?
If I am correct in my assumption, how do I remove the the outdated plugin? Please be precise and detailed as I am still learning Windows 8. In the picture below, I have circled the plugin that I want to remove.
I look forward to your assistance.

Okay, well I just an interesting experience.
    Here's what happened:
Deleted oldest program without remembering to deactivate first.
After I uninstalled, I noticed that the program listings in the Control Panel were blank. That is, both the old and new versions were gone.
In Firefox, the first entry of Adobe Acrobat 11.0.2.0 was gone, but the other listing of Adobe Acrobat 11.0.0.379 remained
Thinking that I erred in not deactivating first, I used Adobe's Chat to reset my counter. The nice man asked me for my email and then my order number for Creative Cloud. After I logged into my Adobe account to retrieve the information, he promptly told me that he couldn't help me and that I needed to call back on Monday using a 1-800 number. I am puzzled why we bothered with the dance of email addresses and order numbers.
Throwing caution to the wind, I decided to try to install Adobe Acrobat from my Creative Cloud account. The worst that happen is that it will fail to load.
I successfully loaded Adobe Acrobat without difficulty. When I viewed the installed programs in the Control Panel, I saw that I had an outdated versions. See picture below.
Intuitively, I would have expected programs downloaded from the cloud to be current.  So I went Help | Check for Updates
I installed the updates. See picture below for Control Panel shot.
Now, going back to Firefox, I am exactly at the starting point.
In summary, the "older" version appears to stay regardless of whether Adobe Acrobat is installed or not. Perhaps it is attached to Adobe Reader XI. Or, perhaps, it's just there. Installing Adobe Acrobat XI Pro seems to add two programs to the list in the Control Panel. And it seems to have two Adobe Acrobat plugins in Firefox.
I will call Adobe on Monday with regard to the Deactivate Issue. I have a hunch that it isn't not an issue. They might be able to tell that I uninstalled and reinstalled on the same computer.
    That's it for now.

  • How to remove disabled plugin in Firefox

I have three Firefox Plugins which are disabled, but no means to remove same, and they do not show up Microsoft Uninstall or Change a Program Panel.

You can set the plugin.expose_full_path pref to true on the about:config page to see the full path of plugins on the about:plugins page.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/about:plugins
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/about:config
It is best not to leave that pref set to true as it exposes that full path to web servers via the navigator.plugins object, so reset that pref to false after you are done with the about:plugins page.
    See "Manually uninstalling a plugin":

  • Java update 2012-006 did not remove Java plugin from any browser

I successfully installed Java update 2012-006 via Software Update on my iMac running OS X Lion 10.7.5 (German) and it updated the Java runtime to version 1.6.0_37 and removed the Java Preferences application as expected, but it did not remove the Java plugin from any browser!
Safari and Firefox can still use the Java plugin as before.
I repaired permissions, rebooted, manually downloaded Java update 2012-006 and successfully installed it again without any change to the Java plugin: it is still present on my system and fully functional from any browser!
The web is full with messages from users missing the Java plugin after installing this update - but I could not find anything about the plugin not being removed!
Is anyone experiencing the same behaviour under Lion? I thought this would happen only under Snow Leopard...
What should I do now? Can I really trust this "successfull installation" of Java update 2012-006 on my system?
    Thanks,
    Michael

Thanks - I will keep the symlink in place and I won't touch the Deploy bundle, because I need the plugin in Safari and I don't need Oracle's Java 7 for now...
If the plugin is supposed to stay in the Deploy bundle, this could help others who miss the plugin - they could just recreate the symlink, right?
To summarize I think we can state, that the Java update 2012-006 for Lion and Mountain Lion sometimes leaves the symlink in /Library/Internet Plugins/ untouched.
The circumstances that lead to this behaviour are still unknown.
The install log in Console shows that the scripts to create links and to delete obsolete files ran okay, but there was an error with the "postinstall" script. In spite of this the installation succeeded:

Does anybody know what "com.apple.mrt.uiagent" and "com.apple.mrt" stands for?
Obviously the "postinstall" script provides an invalid argument (at least on my system).
I have no idea if this is related to the Java Plugin symlink not being removed...

  • Removing old plugins from "edit in" option...

    Hello,
When I right click on an image in Lr3 and select 'edit in', the expanded menu (below where you specify external editors) shows plugins that are no longer installed.  How do I remove these items from the list?
    Thanks.

    Perfect.
I almost responded saying that it wasn't an external option listed in Lr - I didn't realize they were hidden in there.
    Thank you for the directions.

  • Removing Ghosted Plugins

Hi, I'm on a Single-Quad Core Mac Pro running Lion.  I just upgraded to Premiere Pro CC 7.1.  I ran the update for my FilmImpact transition plugins that relased for the CC 7.1.  When I ran the update I was supposed to remove the original plugins in the Extension Manager by clicking "Remove" first and then installing the update.  However, Extension Manager is new to me and I didn't realize this so I just installed over the old plugins.  Extension Manager detected the old plugins and asked me if I wanted to overwrite them with the new one.  I said yes.  This worked, as the updates installed and are functional.  However, now I have the "ghost" of the old plugins too, side by side with the new ones.  I've tried removing them via Extension Manager, but clicking "Remove" or "Enable" only removes the new, updated transition effects, not the old ones.  I can't figure out how to get rid of the old ones.  Any ideas??
    Thanks

MacKeeper is only good for screwing up Macs.
1! MacKeeper is malware and should be renamed MacLooser.
    Thus said:
Your plug-ins could be installed either  in your User Library
        your Home folder > Library > Application Support > Aperture > Plug-Ins
    or the System Library
         your MacintoshHD > Library > Application Support > Aperture > Plug-Ins
Before removing these Plug-Ins folder you need to quit Aperture and to login off and log in again, to be sure Aperture really quit. With the new process model in MacOS Lion you cannot be sure that Aperture really terminates when you are quitting it.

  • Removal of plugin that is not wanted

hi gang....i recently bought a plugin for logic pro...(virtual guitarist 2)...unfortunately i am displeased with it..i want to remove it from my hard drive and from logic pro....there is no uninstall on the VG2 disk..how do i remove it?...it seemed to have cause a unwanted problem with wave burner...so how do i get it off my puter with its license program?....thanks

The plug-in itself will reside in one or more of the following directories:
    ~/Library/Audio/Plugins/Components
    ~/Library/Audio/Plugins/VST
    Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plugins/Components
    Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plugins/VST
(Note...the tilde ~ character represents your user home directory.) Delete anything named Virtual Guitarist (or something similar) from these directories.
As far as I know, Steinberg also uses a dongle with this software, so you'll need to find out where their dongle driver is installed and remove that as well. I don't use Steinberg products, so I can't tell you where that is, but if it's not in their manual, their tech support should be able to help you.
However, before you throw out the software, I'd try getting their tech support to help you resolve the issue. Dongle drivers are often a source of system conflicts, so it may be a simple matter of getting an updated dongle driver from Steinberg, to get yourself back on track.

  • Updating Removed All Plugins & Bookmarks

After Updating Firefox to the recent release ALL of my Plugins & Bookmarks have vanished...
I only clicked "Restart" on the pop-up asking me to restart to update...
Once update completed and Firefox launched, my bookmarks and plugins are gone.

Firefox might have created a new profile for some reason. To see whether you have another profile, try this:
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
This will open your currently active personal settings folder, also known as a Firefox profile folder, in Windows Explorer. If you navigate up one level, can you see another profile folder? The naming convention includes a lot of gibberish characters.
If you see another folder, take note of some part of its name (e.g., default is common). Then close this folder and exit Firefox.
To start Firefox in a different profile, you can use the profile manager.
Start menu > search box, type or paste
    firefox.exe -P
then press Enter. Don't delete or remove anything here, just highlight the earlier profile and start Firefox. Does that one have your settings?

  • I removed some plugins and i have trouble with online games now

i don't know which add on or plug in is causing problem

You need to post a link to the online game site that isn't working so someone can figure out what (plugin?) the site needs to work. Some popular plugins are listed here: [[Popular plugins]]. From your list of plugins, It looks like you already have Java plug-in 1.6.0_23 and 4.0.51204.0 (Silverlight) installed.
You also need to tell us what happens when you visit the site. (Do you see an error message? Does Firefox crash or hang?)
