Remove Aggregated number, replace with lev0 member
Hi - I have a complicated situation here with dates. I am storing dates as data, yes, that is the problem in the first place, but what can I say, Business needs wants it. Anyway, so, I have one Title (of a movie) that has multiple dates across multiple years and months. I am trying to find a way to develop a report that will list nicely 10 titles with ten dates.
I am looking to create a report with the format like this
Available Date Expiration Date
Movie Name 20030503 20040503
I have the Month and Year dimension associated with this movie as the available Month and Year of the movie. There is only one Month and Year associated with One Movie. But in my report, I need to find a way to come up with a particular list of movies, who's list of different Titles span over different Months and Years dimension.
The problem is:
1 movie can have muiltiple available Date and Expiration Date depending on the amount of Channel it has. So if 1 Title has more then 1 Channel - then my available date (data) will be aggregated and it's meaningless unless I drill in on Channel which is not how Business wnats to see the report. They want to see a report with 1 Title and 1 Available Date / Expiration Date and does not want to see the Channels.
Is there a way to do this without killing myself creating the report? I was thinking of creating a formula that looks at the Aggregated Channel dimension, but returns the value of the lowest member. Hope someone can help, I know this can be confusing. Thanks.
Have you looked at changing your date to either non-consolidating (~) or never-agg (^)? Never-agg is available in the newer versions of Essbase.
Not sure this gets to your problem exactly but seems related.

Find and replace error when member is N/A
I am loading metadata from an Oracle view into Planning using ODI. I have members N/A that need to be replaced with another member in the outline. I am using the following language:
CASE HYP.COST_CENTER_CD WHEN ‘N/A’ THEN ‘No Entity US’ END
This replaces ALL members within that column with blank ' ' and therefore all entries are kicking out. Is there a conflict with a / in ODI? Is there other language I can use?Hi,
I take it you are adding new members as you can't rename members directly, you can delete members and then reload new members. This has always been the case for all adaptors e.g. HAL, DIM, Outline Loader and ODI with planning
I am not totally sure what you are trying to do in your case statement as that will replace all N/A members and not just one from your source, then it will try and add it to the outline, you would have to add some more logic if you want it just to effect one member, remember it is only SQL that is being generated.
If it is a rename you need to do then you will have to have one interface that deletes the members, then one interface that adds the new members, but you will have to think about your essbase data as you are deleting and adding so data can be lost if you don't come up with an integration to remap the data.

How do I remove one failing hard drive from raid set and replace with new one
Last Friday apparently one of my raid drives started failing.
As I mentioned on this forum I started getting continous beeping.
I was finally able to get the raid working at a degraded level. I ordered a replacement hard drive which is arriving today.
(In the meantime I made twice daily backups of my work.....)
Below was the message I got from the browser based raid software:

At one point when I did the checked the browser interface I saw the message Failed and Degraded
As I said, I was able to work over the weekend on the degraded system.
This morning I got the beeping again and did the rescue and now I am running a "full raid" without the notice that one raid was "Free".
In any case, the new hard drive is arriving today.
What steps should I take to incorporate the new drive into the raid system.
I have one OS drive
and 4 tb raid drives. One needs to be replaced with the new one that I am getting today.

Please tell me how to read the serial number from an individual drive rather easily, without un-installing them:
If you select the proper drive to change out, you only need to remove one drive and look at its serial number...
Step 1: Identify bad drive serial number using Areca's tools
Step 2: Turn off the computer
Step 3: Remove what you think is the bad drive based on following your numbered cable method, marked hot-swap bays, whatever
Step 4: Verify that the serial number matches the "bad drive" serial number from step 1; if it does great, proceed; if it does not match, go back to step 3
Step 5: Change out the CORRECT drive - that's the bottom line for this whole procedure

Lightroom has no activation check so you don't need to do anything to your computer. Your old copy of Photoshop must be deactivated / uninstalled if you haven't already done so. -

I see Recovery needs Wi Fi which is not available here and Recovery is loaded with a list of potential disasters.

How do I get or make the background.
I assume I use the Quick Selection tool to select the person but I don't have an image with a solid background.Open you picture file

Go to Layer>new>layer via copy (CTRL+J)
Place a blank layer between the background layer and the layer created in step #3
Go to Edit>fill layer, and in the drop-down for contents select 50% gray. OK it.

How do I remove a number sequence using batch rename

I know I've done this in the past but cannot seem to work it out today.
I have a series of images "_####_[layercompName].png". I would like to remove the underscores and numbers. The underscores removal is easy, but how do I remove the numbers (####) when they are different for each filename? I would like the end result to be [layercompName].png
The reason I have these filenames in the first place is that I have run the photoshop script "layer comps to files", and this adds a number sequence prefix. I have tried to alter the script following various instructions I've found from trawling the internet (this one included How do you remove the number sequence when exporting layer comps to files? CS6. Windows 8.) but without any luck. So now I'm resorting to batch renaming in Bridge.

Run Adobe Bridge and navigate to the folder with exported files.
Select all files which have sequence numbers.
Go to Tools > Batch Rename.
Choose: String Substitution from the first drop-down list in New Filenamessection. From the second drop-down choose: Original Filename. In the Find: text field type: _\d{4}_ (underscore, backslash, letter d, open bracket, number four, closed bracket, underscore). Leave Replace with: text field blank. Ensure that you have Replace All and Use Regular Expression checked as shown on the screenshot below.
Click on the Preview button in the top right corner and ensure that files will be renamed as you want.
Click on Rename button and you are done.
In case you are first time doing this and you still have doubts if everything will work as expected, check Copy to other folder option when renaming files. This option is located near the top left corner under: Destination Folder.
Another thing I want to mention is to remove everything that you have below String Substitution options. In case you see additional renaming options just click on minus (-) sign on the right side to remove them.
How to remove/substitute empty spaces in the file name using Adobe Bridge
It is pretty similar process. The only difference is that you should type: \s (backslash followed with letter s) in the Find: text field. You can leave Replace with: text field blank or to type underscore. -
Problems with Photoshop CS2
I originally purchased this software several years ago. At time I was running Microsoft Windows XP.
This computer recently was replaced with a Dell running Windows 8.I reloaded my CS2 on this computer & it ran fine with a few exceptions as follows;
when the software comes up initially I get a message that says “could not complete your request because of program error”. Hitting OK allows me to continue using the software .
When I try to activate a function using CTLR or ALT keys I get this message “required application failed to load and the product cannot continue. Please reinstall the application”. This causes the application to abort.
Reloading my CS2 continues to generate the same messages when I depress the CTLR or ALT keys.Your original copy is obsolete and Adobe is offering a free replacement you are entitled to. Download and use that and that should clear it up for you.

when i go to sync my apps with my computer it tells me ''are you sure you want to sync apps ? all exsisting apps and there data on (iphone) will be replaced with the apps on this itunes library'' does this mean all my data will be lost if i continue ?
Regarding your broken, previously authorized computer, here's how that works:
You would authorize your new computer -- maybe you've done that already. Then you will have two computers authorized. Apple allows you to have up to five computers authorized at any time. If you get to five, you can then go to your account details in iTunes and remove all authorizations.
Bear in mind this is not saying you can synch to more tham one library. Razmee209 and gdgmacguy's comments above are correct. But if Apple only allowed you to authorize one computer at a time, then having a broken computer would mean you could no longer use your Apple ID with iTunes. -
Find and replace with multiple files and with a watch folder
I am trying to create a watch folder that uses red_menace script to:
1. Have a folder that receives multiple xml files that run the script one by one.
2. then move the files to an output folder.
I tried modifying the set TheFIle to choose file -- the original text file to:
with multiple selections allowed
But that doesn't seem to work. I know i'm missing a step. Any help is much appreciated!

The way i'd like to setup things is having an input folder on the desktop (or just have the application on the desktop and I can drag the files onto it), and let it do it's thing. Once it's done have it export the xml files into an output folder.

Edit: how does the choose from list dialog handle those big strings? I'm guessing not very well - is that why you avoided using them?

HELP! I can't play any songs that are in my library...
Every time I click on a song that is in my library, I get the following message: "the song could not be used because the original file could not be found" what do I do? where have all the songs that were in my library disappeared to?
