Remove attached movieclip in reverse order of placement

Is it possible in AS2 to remove an attached movieclip instance in reverse order? I want to give the user the ability to click an erase button and remove the most recent instance of an attached movie. I have tried .swapDepths and getting inconsistent results. Here is what I have:
this.onMouseDown = function(){
var drawdot:MovieClip;
drawdot = this.attachMovie("dot", "dot_mc", this.getNextHighestDepth(), {_x:_xmouse, _y:_ymouse});
var nextdepth = this.getNextHighestDepth();
trace (nextdepth);
clear_btn.onPress = function() {
dot_mc.swapDepths(100000)
removeMovieClip(dot_mc);
Thanks for your time.

Perhaps using an array to store the movie clips names that are attached would work. Then you could use the array.pop() method to get the last element entered and remove it from the array at the same time.
I bolded the lines I changed/added in your code.
var i:Number = 0;
var dotArrays = new Array();
this.onMouseDown = function(){
var drawdot:MovieClip;
drawdot = this.attachMovie("dot", "dot_mc" + i, this.getNextHighestDepth(), {_x:_xmouse, _y:_ymouse});
dotArrays.push(this["dot_mc" + i]._name);
var nextdepth = this.getNextHighestDepth();
trace (nextdepth);
clear_btn.onPress = function() {
var delete_mc = dotArrays.pop();
removeMovieClip(delete_mc);
Let me know if this works ok.

  • When I try to insert several pdf files into an initial one, they consistently are attached in reverse order, no matter how I instruct the program. How do I correct this?

    I am working with Acrobat X Pro. I open a pdf, then try to insert several files, in a specific order, into the first one. No matter whether I instruct it to place the files after the first, last or name a page number, the files are inserted in reverse order after the initial file. How do I overcome this problem?

    Thanks Bill !! for providing the simple answer - this has saved me much work.  I always assumed that Acrobat would either a) sort the inserted files alphanumerically or b) use the sort order of the OS's file selector.  The c) answer of inserting the files in the reverse order of the OS file selector (since Acrobat will reverse that order) eluded me until now.
    It's clearly a bug in the program, I'm using Acrobat X Pro, but had the exact same problem with Acrobat 7 - never occurred to me to sort the file listing in reverse alphanumeric order in order to have Acrobat insert them in correct alphanumeric order.
    Thank!

  • Spry dropdown menu not dropping down and reversing order cs4

    Hi, thank you for reading my post.
    I am having problems with my spry menu bar not dropping down when
    I upload it to my site, I get bulleted lists. When I preview it, it works fine. Also, the menu is in reverse order (??) I've tried retyping it in the opposite order to see if that fixes it, but somehow it goes back to backwards. It should start with home at the left. I am trying to post my code, but it will not let me paste. How do I paste code? Sorry if thats a silly question.
    Thank you

    Hi, thank you for your replies. I set everything to left, which caused it to display correctly in dreamweaver. Thank you! I did enjoy the "wiggle" that I get from the menu items on hover, they move from right to left, will that cause problems if I change one back to right? I still am having trouble getting the menu bar to show on the website, Im still getting bullets.
    How do I put the css files? They might be on the site, but not in the right place, where should they be? I also made another site from the same template, and saved it to a folder in my site so it can be previewed. Will that cause problems? Both spry's are not working..... argh! Thank you to everyone for your help, I appreciate it, this is my first time using the spry menu feature. Thank you for the help on posting code. Here is a link to the site and the code:

  • Podcast audiobook episodes in reverse order

    I upgraded my iPod Touch software to 2.2, and all of the chapters in my audiobook podcasts are now in reverse order. (They are downloaded from Librivox.)
    All of the chapters are in correct order on iTunes and when my iPod is hooked up to iTunes, the sidebar shows that the chapters should be in correct order. But on the iPod itself, the chapters are reversed.
    I have tried both Syncing and Restoring.

    I had a similar thing happen, not to an audio book, but a sequence of MP3s of a concert staged reading of a show of mine. I tried all kinds of tricks in re: interpolating sequenve numbers at the start of filenames, putting files in manually, etc. -- everything except syncing, because I'm not keen on relinquishing even partial manual control of contents. Then rather by accident I found the solution. Or at any rate MY solution. And it's ridiculously easy.
    (1) Make sure all the playlist's MP3 files are in a folder on your desktop, named so that when you view them as a list, you see them in chronological order.
    (2) Attach your iPod to your Mac and boot iTunes.
    (3) in iTunes select your iPod and create a new playlist.
    (4) Drag the playlist folder -- not its contents, but the folder ITSELF -- to the new playlist window; the files will be copied in order.
    That's it. When you remove your iPod from the Mac, the correct order of the previously troublesome playlist should be retained and not reversed. Or at least that's what worked for me.

  • Reverse ordered blog

    I'm interested in creating a web page using a blog template that places the blogs in reverse order (oldest first and newest last). Initially I did this by putting in a dummy date and then putting an opaque graphic over the date to hide the bogus date. Is there a way I can hide the dates in blogs without doing this? Or, Is there a way of just putting the blog in reverse order?

    Hi,
    I would like to add a "Me too"
    I have this site http://web.mac.com/ralphjohnsuk2/iChat_4/iChat/iChat.html
    What I want to do is somewhat recreate this site http://www.ralphjohnsuk.dsl.pipex.com/ in a format that is searchable and in bite sized ordered pieces. I maybe changing ISPs which is why I am thinking of doing this.
    I did a search.
    The options with the iLfe 08 version seem to be remove the viewable date, cover it with something or edit in another app and then also via iDisk rather than using iWeb.
    Some threads I looked at went back to Oct with no real resolution to this.
    This one seemed the most current to Add a +Me Too+ to.
    I want Blog style with either reverse displays or no dates with an option to order as I wish.

  • Problem with attaching file to Sales Order

    Hello,
    In my company we have the possibility to attach files to sales orders, e.g. pdf files with the printing details.
    These files are added by the GUI user, this works fine.
    Now we have an extra order creation stream in which a pdf file has to be added to the SO without user interaction.
    I found a helpful link ( /people/rammanohar.tiwari/blog/2005/10/10/generic-object-services-gos--in-background )
    This program creates URL links with no problem, but the file generation is not implemented yet.
    I tried to add the file functions to his sample report but still have one problem. The file is uploaded, but not reported as a PDF file in sap. If I select the created attachment SAP allows only the saving of the attachment. After saving the created file is a good PDF file, it opens with PDF-viewers.
    Why does SAP not know this is a PDF file and report it as such (and open the pdf viewer when selected).
    Thanks, Frank.

    Hi,
    Welcome to the SDN Forums!!!
    You need to supply the PC file extension in the container element 'DOCUMENTTYPE'.
    swc_set_element lt_message_container 'DOCUMENTTYPE' p_msgtyp.
    In your case change the above statement as below:
    swc_set_element lt_message_container 'DOCUMENTTYPE' 'pdf'.
    <b>OR</b> change the default value of p_msgtyp to 'PDF'.
    Cheers,

  • Songs are in reverse order on iPad, but correct on iTunes

    I have a number of Smart Playlists that look fine when displayed on iTunes, but when iTunes copies them to my iPad Air, the list of albums shows up in the correct order but the songs in each album are sorted in reverse order.
    So for example, I have a Smart Playlist defined where "Artist is Jean Michel Jarre".  That playlist is sorted by Year in list view and by Year-then-Title in Grid view.
    When I look at that same Playlist on my iPad Air, all of his albums appear in chronological order (which I expect), but the songs on each album are listed last-to-first.  So Oxygene (his first album) shows up before Equinoxe (his second album), but the list of songs on the Oxygene album are shown as: Part VI, Part V, Part IV, Part III, Part II, Part I.  All of the albums on the list are in the right order, but the list of songs on each album appears backwards in each one.
    This is just one example of a bug that manifests itself a lot on my iPad.  I have a lot of Smart Playlists that misbehave just like this.  I deal with it by creating not-smart playlists that are exact copies of the Smart Playlists -- but honestly, why offer Smart Playlists if they're not going to display correctly?  If they're this buggy, why am I using them at all?
    Does anybody know of a workaround for this bug?  Does anybody know whether Apple is aware of it, and if they have any plans to fix it?  Please? Maybe? Someday?

    I am now home from work, and over the past hour I have tried every combination of up-arrows, down-arrows, Copy To Play Order, sorting on the leftmost column, sorting on the Year column, etc. etc. that I could think of.  I believe I have followed your recommendations slavishly and to the letter.
    My Jean Michel Jarre Smart Playlist is sorted with the triangle on the leftmost column, and in iTunes, the playlist order is correct.  I have sync'd my iTunes library to the iPad several times, I have unchecked that playlist, performed the sync again to remove it from the iPad entirely, checked it again and performed the sync again -- I have also tried closing the Music app on the iPad and restarting it -- I've also tried deliberately sorting the tracks in iTunes in reverse order to see if the iPad does anything any differently, including a "Copy to Play Order" for good luck -- and every combination of all of these choices results in exactly the same outcome: on the iPad, albums show up in chronological order, and tracks in each album show up in reverse order.  Nothing I do makes any difference at all.
    Here's hoping iOS 8 at least doesn't make things any worse.  Maybe if the gods are smiling, it might actually solve this problem.  I was hoping that the upgrade to iTunes 11.4 might have made a difference, but, sadly, no such luck ... which is why my hopes for salvation in iOS 8 are not high ... but that doesn't stop me from being grateful to you for trying to help.  Thank you for your time.  I do appreciate it.

  • How to copy images from another MC in reversed order??

    Hi everyone,
    I'm new to AS3 and have been fighting and searching for a solution to this problem for a week now, and I'm VERY close!
    I crated a MC holding of a series of images (about 50) and I jump around in it using plenty AS3 scripts (most of which I don't fully understand yet, but I'm working on that to! )
    I had to find a way to "rewind" (= play backwards) the MC. Since there is a stop(); command in almost every frame, prevFrame does not work and if I put that in a loop, it goes WAY to fast (but worked).. So I could think of only one way...
    Create a new (reverserd) MC with the same image sequence ald reverse it manually and play that one.
    This all works fine (very proud of it ).
    Now my question:
    To get this to work for multiple image sequences, I have to load all images twice (once in MC_1 and again in MC_2 and select them and reverse them).
    Not a big one, unless you want to create MANY of those SWF's...
    Is it possible to load the 50 images of the first MC in reverse into the second MC dynamically? JUST the images, noting else.
    extra info: the MC_2 is already in the lib(empty) and placed on the stage.
    something like:
    var pointer:Number=1;
    for (var:i:Number=50;i>=0;i--) {
    get MC_1.picure(var);
    put it in MC_2.frame(pointer);
    pointer = pointer + 1;
    All help is welcome and please take into account that I have little experience and copy most of my scripting from people like you
    T.I.A.
    Melluw

    I tried your advice (thanks for that)
    The event I already have is the mouse leave
    I //-d out the part I removed (what did work)
    The code I ended up with is:
    function Start() {
    stage.addEventListener(Event.MOUSE_LEAVE, cursorHide);
    function cursorHide(evt:Event):void {
    var currFrame = MC_1.currentFrame;
    if (CCW == true) {  //it is true in this case
      movStart = (50 - currFrame);
    else {
      movStart = currFrame;
    if (movStart>25) {
      MC_1.prevFrame();
    // removed swapChildren(MC_1, MC_2); // This is the part I removed
    // removed MC_2.gotoAndPlay(movStart);
    else {
      MC_1.gotoAndPlay (movStart);
    And if I leave the stage on the part where movStart is indeed >25
    Nothing happens,
    So I guess this is not what you meant
    Subject: Action Script 3 how to copy images from another MC in reversed order??
    I cannot direct you in the loading of the images approach, it will be too complicated, and will probably not work anyways... when you move away from a frame that has dynamic content, you lose the content.  So basically, there is nothing practical in taking that approach.
    I do niot understand what the problem will be with the enterFrame/prevFrame approach. If everything you can do with the mouse is already used (which I doubt) by the first mc, then there is nothing else you can do with this file.  You probably just need to rethink your control scheme.  You should search Google for "AS3 slideshow tutorial", and to lighten up your design, add "XML" in that search.

  • Commands to Print Word Document in Reverse Order and Only Evens or Odds

    I have an HP Photosmart printer that doesn’t have automatic duplex printing, so instead of manually printing the odds and then flipping the paper and printing the evens, I decided to write a script (I’m very new to script writing, so go easy on me):
    tell application "Microsoft Word"
    print out active document print out page type print odd pages only
    end tell
    display dialog "After the papers finish printing and after you place the papers back into the printer, rotated 180º, click OK." buttons {"OK"} ¬
    default button "OK" with icon note
    set the user_choice to the button returned of the result
    if the user_choice is "OK" then
    tell application "Microsoft Word"
    print out active document print out page type print even pages only
    end tell
    end if
    The only things that are working are the printing and the dialog box. The odd pages and even pages scripts don’t seem to work (though I read this passage from Guy Hart-Davis’s +AppleScript: A Beginner’s Guide+ http://books.google.com/books?id=9uBeokAwNLsC&lpg=PA303&ots=ICfmxTfG-W&dq=apple% 20script%20print%20odd%20number%20pages&pg=PA303#v=onepage&q&f=false) and I can’t find any command that will print my even pages in a reverse order. Any help would be so much appreciated.

    I believe I got the script to print the second round in reverse order, but I still can’t get it to print odd pages only and even pages only.
    tell application "Microsoft Word"
    print out active document
    end tell
    display dialog "After the papers finish printing and after you place the papers back into the printer, rotated 180º, click OK." buttons {"OK"} ¬
    default button "OK" with icon note
    set the user_choice to the button returned of the result
    if the user_choice is "OK" then
    tell application "Microsoft Word"
    print with properties {print reverse}
    end tell
    end if

  • Printing config sm to be set to print in reverse order. How to fix?

    OSX 10.6.3 and MS Word 12.23. When I go to print-to-disk a Word document (i.e. turn it into a PDF using Preview as the default display tool) I get a PDF whose pages are in reverse order. Fine for hard copy output, useless for PDF. Every Print pref or config setting I look for offers no help and, of course, as is completely normal, the Help menu offers nothing either.
    I have found an easy fix for a small document — do a "preview" of the document in the Print dialog then drag the pages manually to where they should be. But not every document I work with is small.
    Suggestions please.

    Oh John, thanks for trying to help. However, I'm not trying to print to any printer. I'm trying to "print-to-disk" i.e. save as a PDF to the desktop so I can later send it as an email attachment.
    And by the way, I forgot to mention for you and other kind folk in here — the Word print dialog box does contain a setting Copies & Pages/Page Handling/Page Order with the options "automatic, normal, reverse" but it makes no difference what I select, I still end up with "reverse".

  • How to write data at the end of doc in reverse order?[CS6-jsx]

    I need to move all my spec texts entries at et end of doc. To keep correct reference in all found entries i have to process in reverse order
    for (i = mFound.length-1; i>=0; i--){
    ...etc
    but can't to think up, how to place entries in write order at the end.
    String:
    mStory.insertionPoints.item(-1).select();
    app.paste();
    does not work properly (of course). It makes this:
    10.

    I think what you are doing is the code below.
    you should fix using

    var doc = app.documents.add();
    var tf = doc.textFrames.add({geometricBounds: ["10mm","10mm","100mm", "80mm"], contents:dummy});
    var st = tf.parentStory;
    var find_grep_obj = {
      findWhat : "\\d+\\.[^\\s]+"
    with(app.findChangeGrepOptions){

      widthSensitive              = true;
    var match = grep_find(doc, find_grep_obj);
    function grep_find(target_obj, find_grep_obj){
      app.findGrepPreferences = NothingEnum.nothing;
      app.findGrepPreferences.properties = find_grep_obj;
      var result = target_obj.findGrep(true); //=> reverse order [..., "3.inctorem","2.quibusda", "1.eatiorum"]

  • Scanned items show up in REVERSE order

    HP, please be more desriptive. I read previous posts and still cannot fix.
    When I scan a 5 page document, 1-5, it shows up on my MAC 10.9 in the order 5-1.
    One of your posts says in the "Copy" settings on the printer to change to "Collate On", then save default.
    I did this and it still shows up in the wrong order.
    I scan large documents everyday and need to have in correct order.
    Please help and be very specific!!!!
    Thank you,
    Terry

    Hello tryii223,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
    I understand when you scan a document, then scans are showing in reverse order. Just to clarify this issue, I need to ask you some question:
    I need to find out what type of printer do you have? Click here to find out: Model Number.
    How is this printer connected? Wireless or USB?
    Are you using the scanner glass or automatic document feeder? If you're using the automatic document feeder, are you placing these pages 1-5 or 5-1?
    Please verify this information and I will assist you further. Have a great night!

  • Schedule Background Job :  Remove delivery Block in Sales order

    Hi Gurus,
    I have a requirement to select all sales orders as per a condition and remove delivery block at
    VA02-> Go to -> Header -> Status
    For that I have to write a program which will be run only in background and i have to schedule background job for the same.
    I have a parameter at selection - No of records
    If no of records = 500 , I have to submit 500 jobs ie one job each for each sales order for removing delivery block.
    I need to know
    1) Which function module/bapi I can use to remove delivery block at sales order header level.
        For blocked delivery the status is 'BSTK" . to remove block i need to change status to "RSTK".
    2) How to schedule a background job for my program and how to submit one job each for each sales   order.
    Regards
    Avi.

    Hi Avi,
    Would like to seek for your advice. I am facing the same scenario too which is to delete the delivery block but is deletion of the delivery block is done in the user exit MV45AFZZ. The subroutine which needs to have the extra logic of deleting the delivery block is USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE.
    Need your advice on how do you solve this scenario? Thanks in advance.

  • Function module to release a work permit attached to a service order.

    Hi,
    We have a requirement of automating the process of work permit release attached to service order.
    I am looking for a function module / BAPI for releasing the work permit attached to a service order by passing service order number and permit ID/Name.
    If any of you have come accrose such one please share.
    Thanks
    Achuthanandan

    Hello Philip
    The following function modules should be useful:
       - CY_PRIMARY_SELECTION            - Function module for selection of orders for the work center
       - CY_SECONDARY_SELECTION          - Check for additional criteria
       - CR_CAPACITY_AVAILABLE_PERIODS   - Reads the available capacity from work center
       - HR_PERSON_READ_TIME_INFO        - Reads the available capacity from person (modification)
       - CY_GET_PART_CAPACITY            - used only for the first period to read backlog
       - CY_LOAD_DISTRIBUTION            - Distribution key
    Please observe that these are simple function modules, not BAPIs, That means, they were developed to be used on the SAP internal programs and they are not supported by SAP when used in custom programs.

  • How do I get my ipod to play a playlist from reverse order? (Start with recently added song instead of first added)

    How do I get my ipod to play a playlist from reverse order? (Start with recently added song instead of first added)
    So I'm adding new songs to a very old playlist? Is there anyway that when I add them, they automatically go to top of playlist? How about getting one song to the top of a playlist.  That drag to arrange function is very annoying because it is slow and the playlist does not scroll up very well on a PC.

    Make a new playlist by pressing the little plus button at the very lower left corner of iTunes. An new playlist will appear in the Source pane called "untitled playlist". While the name is highlighted, you can change it to whatever you want. Drag all of the tracks from all the albums that comprise a single book to that playlist. Sync that playlist to your iPod.
