Remove attachments from MS Ooutlook converted file

I have converted MS Outlook e-mails to a Adobe Acrobat X file. Unfortunately, I set my preferences too late and have all the attachments in the final portfolio, which considerably adds to the size of the file. I know I can go into each e-mail, click on the paperclick, and remove the attachment(s). However, that would take a looooong time! Would someone please help me by showing me how I may do this with JS or something? Why is it I cannot save the portfolio as a reduced PDF file?

the goals of a password is to protect the contents from anyone who does not know the password.
As far as I know, there are no tools provided by Microsoft to remove, alter or read the password from a protected pst file. It might even violate local laws to do so.

Remove Attachments from Leopard Mail does not remove attachment from .emix

Every day I back up my mail (and other items) to an external hard drive using an Automator workflow, in order that I can synchronize mail on my work and home Macs. In order to make this process as quick as possible, I routinely remove attachments from all mail messages once I have saved them to where they need to go on my hard drive.
I have noticed that since upgrading to Leopard (archive and install), the size of the mail folder which I back up (user>library>mail) is getting significantly bigger every day, despite removing all attachments. Upon investigation it seems that although the attachment has been removed from the mail message, the attachment is still in it's associated .emix file (e.g. user>library>mail>POP???mailaccountfolder>INBOX.mbox>messages>?????.emix - if this email contained a 5mb attachment which was removed using mail>message>remove attachments, the .emix file will still be 5mb).
Anyone else experiencing this problem? know a workaround? It didn't happen with mail in 10.4!

I am not sure when I will get the chance to test this -- maybe this afternoon. But I had not understood that what you called original continued to have the attachments. If so, this strongly suggests to me that it indeed may be the way Gmail maintains the All Mail folder that is causing this. See:

Why can't I remove attachments from emails in the Sent items folder?

I Recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion, and so far, there are at least a couple of things that puzzle me.
One is that now I don't have the option to "Remove Attachments" from emails in the sent items folder. It seems to work normally
in the Inbox and Drafts folders, but not in the Sent items. Go figure ???
Another thing that bothers me is that in Preview, when I save a screen shot, or a scan, etc., I no longer have the option of saving it as a GIF
(which, when better quality isn't absolutely necessary, is often much lower in KB or MB than a PNG or JPG, etc.. When I store lots of things as such images, I'd rather have that option.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

And Mail doesn't recognise these, since a) the smart mailbox trick says that the messages are free from attachments, and b) the Remove Attachments menu option is disabled.
I will have to wait for the next Mail update, and my Sent box will grow accordingly ...

Remove attachments from FITV_POWL_TRIPS for Expenses in overview screen

We are trying to remove the attachments from being available in the ABAP Web Dynpro ESS Travel/Expenses screens.
In the My Trips & Expenses overview of the ABAP Web Dynpro - FITV_POWL_TRIPS - I believe - an ALV is displayed and one of the columns is Attachments - under My Expenses Report tab. We would like to remove it.
As well as the attachment button and functionality that appears when you go into the Expense Report for change.
Is there an easy way to do this?
The ALV seems to be generated dynamically from the POWL query and I have not been able to find any config that will allow us to remove the attachments functionality.
Any help would be appreciated.

In adminstrative mode you can configure the abap webdynpro by hiding fields and modifying texts, hide columns in a table. goto menu options in SE80->Test->adminstrative mode->execute.
Right click on the area that you want to change and a popup will come with choices to change standard settings. Choose it by clicking on it and it will bring up the field that you would like to modify. This is a global configuration. You can also do this in the iview under preview mode in content management.

I'm sure I used to be able to do this in SL?
I can do it on some messages, but not all, and not quite sure of a rhyme or reason (I've noted others think it doesn't work on Sent mail, but SOME of my sent messages let me delete attachments??)
Has there been a change?
Will there be a fix?

How to remove noise from a recorded audio file.

I'm a relatively new user. I recorded certain audio files which are noisy(humm or hiss). Can anyone suggest ways to remove noise from that clip? I tried Denoiser but it added further noise artifacts which were unpleasant to hear Need help. And pls dont ask me to rerecord it in a noise free environment!

Remove attachments from mail app with imap account

Hi Folks,
I am quite frustrated. I am using Apple's mail app with Gmail (IMAP) and I want to remove all of my attachments from Gmail. I am using the 'remove attachment' feature of mail app to do this. However, it removes the attachment, then uploads a copy of the original email without the attachment. Therefore, I end up with two emails: The original and a copy without an attachment.
I don't get it. I just want to remove the attachments from my emails. I don't want to delete the original email.
Any thoughts?

REPLACE statement removing commas from a money convert... I do NOT want it to do this

I am using a case statement to remove the '-' from a negative number and place a '(' there instead.
The negative side of the CASE statement is as follows:
REPLACE(CONVERT(varchar, CONVERT(money, SUM(Begin_Balance)), 1), '-', '(') + ')'
The positive side is:
CONVERT(varchar, CONVERT(money, SUM(Begin_Balance)), 1)
The data output for the positive portion is 100% correct. Here is an example of the output I receive.

Why is the replace statement stripping my commas?

So many horrible fundamental errors in one sentence!
1. CASE is an expression, not a statement. An expression returns a scalar value of a known data type, A statement changes the schema.
2. In SQL, all display formatting is done in a presentation layer, never in the database.
3. We use the ANSI/ISO Standard CAST() and not the old Sybase/Unix CONVERT today
4. We use DECIMAL() and not the old Sybase/Unix MONEY. This thing does not work; it fail to do correct math; Google it! Do a data audit and see if you can go to jail for this.
5. SQL is not COBOL. The COBOL language treats all data as strings. STOP DOING THAT IN SQL! This language uses abstraction in the database and the presentation does the job that your old PICTURE clause used to do.

How to prevent attachments from appearing as ATT files for Windows folks?

One of my clients is always bugging me that my emails are coming through with ATT files. I do usually have my company logo in an HTML email signature, but this has happened when sending him .DOCX attachments as well (if I send him more attachments he gets more ATT files).
Is there any way I can trouble shoot this on my end? I would like to avoid bugging this recipient for more details if possible (I'm not sure what email client or OS he is using...).

Is your account on an Exchange server? If so, there's an issue between Mail and Exchange (and may be present with some other email servers) where any text after an attachment gets split off into another attachment. The fix is to make sure that any attachment you want to send comes after all text in the message, including the signature. You can enforce this by setting the option to have all attachments at the end of the message under Edit -> Attachments.

Firefox 4 hangs when removing attachments from Outlook Express email

When I open an email in Outlook Express 6 (Windows XP Pro) and try to drag & drop an attachment to the desktop with Firefox 4 open in the background, my computer hangs. This only happens when FF4 is open - I have no problem removing attachments with IE8, Chrome 10, or no browser open. It is repeatable (even after reboot) and it happened with every attachment I tried so far (PDF, JPG, & RTF)
I don't have to release the attachment - it's locked up as soon as I start dragging it. The cursor stays a slashed circle even when hovering over the desktop (as opposed to it turning into a box with a "+" when FF4 is not open).
When frozen, my CPU is pegged at 100%, which is split between 2 processes - firefox.exe and msimn.exe. I can kill the Firefox application in Task Manager, but it takes awhile (including dumprep.exe after firefox.exe is terminated).
The only Add-ons I added was Acrobat X, Flash, and AdBlock Plus. I tried disabling AdBlock, but that had no effect - it still hangs.
Any ideas? Can anyone else repeat this on another Windows XP / Outlook Express computer?

Archive/remove attachments but keep link to file in emails

Hello,
I have been browsing and googling extensively but didn't find a solution for what I am trying to do:
I have quite a large email folder in the ~/Library (around 90GB+) and I am trying to reduce that size.
For this I want to remove all or most of the attachments (or at least the biggest ones).
Removing and saving the attachments to a folder is pretty easy.
Once the attachment is removed from the email, I would like to be able to go back to this email and see a mention that (for example):
'The attachment has been removed on [Date] at [Time]"
with mention of the files names, the path at the time of the saving and for each file a link to the saved location on the disk.
Is there any way to do that?
Any software or mail plugin??
Any help would be appreciated,

What my clients want to accomplish is is to package all the separate .js files for the website into one file, so all the pages load faster.
This includes the Animate.js files which are only to be used for the home page, so of course random animations appear on the rest of the pages which don't have the animate DIVs in them.
I have suggested they package all the .js files EXCEPT the animate.js ones and just load them separately on the page the animations are to appear on.
But they are still wanting to do them all in one package however (!!) so my question is:
Can some code be added to the animate.js files that says something like "if these DIVs are not found, make the animation do nothing"?
It is possible the relevant code cannot be added in which case they will have to do the animate.js files separately, but as they have asked me about it I thought I would ask people in the forum if they knew how to accomplish this.

How to remove Mozilla from off my other files so I can open them?

Mozilla image is placed on all of the ext. to all my files and programs ( even in the sub-folders ). Every time I try to open a program the internet comes up. This is happening on my user account,and I have to work on my guest user account to use my computer.I'm concerned that it might find it's way to my guest account.Anyone with an answer out there?
I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate and can't reuse the operation disk because it would remove ALL my files and programs from my computer. I thought it might be a virus, but I have Norton 360 and I've used it for as many years as I've had my computer. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Help with program to remove comments from chess(pgn) text files

I would like to make a java program that will remove chessbase comments from pgn files (which are just based text files).
I have done no java programming on text files so far and so this will be a new java adventure for me. Otherwise I have limited basic java experience mainly with Java chess GUI's and java chess engines.
I show here a portion of such a pgn text file with the chessbase comments which are between the curly braces after the moves:

I want to make a java program if possible that removes these comments, so just leaving the move notation eg:

I found a simple java text editor (NutPad-with sourcecode) and have tried to adapt it to incorporate the regular expressions code suggested by ChuckBing and renamed it CleanCBpgnPad.
Presently this won't compile! (not surprising).

As seen I added a newAction mClean.
4 errors arise starting with line 101-cannot find symbol method showCleanDialog

Can anyone help me with this please?
Can I incorporate the regular expression code to remove these text comments into this text editor code and if so how?
Obviously a lot of this code is new to me and I will continue to study it and hope to learn to understand most , if not all of it!

Re: removing babylon from the about:config file

I did have the problem of, when I clicked on the plus sign to open a new tab in Firefox I would get the "babylon search engine". I got ride of part of the problem by cleaning up the about:config file. But there is about 5 lines connected to the "bablon search engine" still in the about:config file that I can't del. I have tryed everything I know of to delete those lines. Nothing has worked. I can post a jpg screen capture file of the "about:config" file if the sys will let me. Any ideas out there?

Go to Control Panel, click Programs (software).
Uninstall "Browser Manager" + "Bprotector" + "Object Installer" + "Babylon Toolbar on IE"
Then depending on which browser you use , follow the relevant steps:

> Go to Tools> Options> and go to change your order, the Home. ( f.e www.google.de) and click OK.
> Remove the search engine of Babylon by clicking the small arrow next to the icon of Babylon
> Manage Search Engines

> write in the address Bar "about:config " and click Enter
> Write in the search engine "Babylon."
> Click on any 'Babylon' preferences with the right mouse button and select "Reset"
