If I suggest '''History'''. and then eliminate them by highlighting and '''DELETE,''' it solves the problem temporarily but then returns when I close, restart or turn off and start to browse again

If you want to remove all traces of a site, open up the history sidebar (use keyboards shortcut Control+H), locate the site in the history, right-click on it and select "Forget About This Site". That will delete all traces of that site from browsing history, cookies, bookmarks, passwords and site preferences.

Easiest way is to Control Click (or 2 finger tap the track pad) and then select Delete from the pop up menu. You can also go to the Bookmarks menu and select Edit Bookmarks.

I've followed the on-site directions for this migration ("migrate from another browser") but my only options via that route are Safari and Chrome.

I can't delete history from location bar anymore, pressing delete only eliminates it for that instant, but doesn't remove from history

You should have restored the backup that was on your computer before syncing. Now it is too late. However, if you followed the instructions in the manual and set up an app on your computer to sync contacts and calendar to they will still reside in those apps. Photos in the camera roll are lost, however, if you had followed the instructions in the manual to copy photos from the camera roll to your computer regularly you can restore them to the photo app from the copy on your computer. Text messages are gone for good. Music and Apps should be in the music library on your computer.

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. The way that I understand that it works, is that the photos are not copied into the new albums, instead it just points to the photos - the number of photos on the iPad in Settings > General > About doesn't increase when you create new album so I assume from that that it isn't copying the photo, just pointing to it. So if you delete the photo from the camera roll you will therefore also be deleting all the pointers to it

How to remove history in the location bar? Deleting history and then using "History" only in the settings for the location bar does not remove old history.

I want to remove ''old History'' in the Location bar.
I am using Firefox 3.6.13.
"Clear recent history" does not remove the old History in the Location bar. And changing the setting to only show "History" does also not remove the old history.
Pressing "Delete" on single lines when opening the list by clicking the arrow to the right in the location bar, remove the entries temporary. But next time you type in the location bar, the same suggestions are there.

Entries in the location bar drop down list with a yellow (blue on Mac) star at the right end are bookmarks.<br />
You can remove such a bookmarked item that shows in the list if you open that url in a tab and click the yellow star in the location bar.<br />

Same web address autopopulates in location bar regardless of history, bookmarks.

When I type the first "w" of a web address in the location bar, a web address autopopulates that is not in the pull down list, browsing history or bookmarks. The same address populates every time and only with one "w" of the first "www" of the address. I have tried clearing all history and cookies, resetting Firefox and reinstalling but the problem persists. The only way I have found to stop it is to set the privacy preferences for location bar suggestions to suggest Nothing, but that eliminates a feature I find useful. The only thing I haven't tried is deleting my Firefox profile. I am using a Mac running OS 10.8.4.

I can't add or remove bookmarks from the bookmarks menu or bookmarks bar and I've completely removed and reinstalled Firefox.

I am not able to add or remove bookmarks. The bookmarks library is empty. I can't restore to any back up bookmarks. I restarted in safe mode. No bookmarks. I reset Firefox. No bookmarks. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. No bookmarks. I did a Revo Uninstall and cleared the registry. No bookmarks. I deleted the localstore.rdf. No bookmarks. This is kinda a deal breaker for me. I might have to go to Chrome or IE.

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Refresh button is missing from location bar and bookmarks toolbar is blank when I first start FF30

When I start Firefox 30, my bookmarks toolbar is blank. I have to deselect it in View > toolbars then reselect it and they appear.
Also my refresh button at the far right of the location bar has disappeared and all I see is a magnifying glass.
Another issue I now have is that when I copy and paste the URL for any page into the location bar, this then triggers a Google search and doesnt go directly to the page associated with the URL.
I have tried renaming the FF profile and uninstalling/reinstalling FF but this hasnt resolved.
Any pointers to what my next step should be would be most welcome.
Im using Windows 7 Professional SP1 32-bit

Thanks for the reply, however this didnt help me because you didnt tell me where to find the setting "hide urls stop/reload button", and i couldnt find it myself.
However I did resolve the issue myself by disabling addons one by one and reenabling them til I discovered the culprit.
The culprit as i discovered was the Classic Theme Restorer, which has now been duly disabled and will not be used again.

Firefox upgraded itself and now bookmarks from the last two years can only he "searched" but can't be seen in the list on the side bar or in the manager

I was running 3.5 and firefox did a little upgrade on it's own. Now I can't see any bookmarks I've added after 2009 in the bookmarks manager list or sidebar but if I search something I know I added it will show up with a date when I added it in 2010 or 2011 but I cant see these in the list without knowing what to search for. I only seem to have one "profile" I have tried restoring back to old bookmarks from the weekend with no success, and I even upgraded to 3.6 but no luck. Is there an addon or extension that could be blocking my view of the rest of my bookmarks?

Not sure about the middle click, I only used a two button mouse until recently, and maybe you could have subscribed differently or used some add-on.
Firefox 4 does not at present show the RSS icon in the location bar, but does have a customise option providing a button, or ass-ons can put one back in the location bar.

The listings do still show icons differently if already viewed, and if links are displayed the read and unread ones may display differently. This depends partly on how the page you view is set-up by the feed provider.
My firefox is en-GB edition and default'' Latest Headlines'' http://fxfeeds.mozilla.com/en-GB/firefox/headlines.xml is the BBC news. The BBC site may have changed the option on that feed, clicking the option is to open individual tabs or all the tabs, there is no separate listing, or explicit news page option now, however left clicking the option ''Open "Latest Headlines"'' at the bottom of the RSS listing goes to the BBC news home http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/
Compare that with another feed from the BBC :
