Remove C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir after successful installation

Hello,
do you recommend to delete the directory C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir after successful installation.
It wastes ~500 MB disk space.
Thanks,
Juergen

yes.
if the installation was successful. i've experienced, that you won't read logs of a successful installtion anymore...
but you could also zip & archive it somewhere.
if you plan to do further installation you even SHOULD remove/rename the directory.

Adobe Flash Player 11 Active X 11.5.502.135 was successfully installed and working in browser.  Auto download continued to download and install same version repeatedly, at least every hour.  Uninstall and re-install does not fix the problem.  The previous version, 11.5.502.110 did the same thing.
PC with Windows 7 64bit.  Browser:  IE 9.0.12,   32 bit.  Have temporarily uninstalled Flash Player to stop the auto downloads.

I had the file in both locations, they looked identical.... here's the one from \SysWOW64\\\
I just pasted the last 4 months.  Let me know if you need the rest of the last two years.

    Two Thinks:
1.- This error appears precisely in the process of creating SAP users including you mention sidadm:

          B.- Installation option is chosen

  • No response at all after successful installation of iTunes; please help!

After successful installation of iTunes (latest version 11) and confirmed that I agree to all terms, there was no further response.
I went to All Programs and double click iTunes, still there was no response as if I did not initiate it.
    I am running Windows 7 64-bit.
I tried unintall and re-install it twice and the same happened.
Please help urgently. Many many thanks.

Well, I have just spent an HOUR (no, I'm not kidding or exaggerating) talking to Apple support, and the saddest thing is that they were not able to resolve my issue. Their suggestion is for me to create another email account, then a new Apple ID for that email address and if that does not help, they want me to come to an Apple Store and show them what's going on. I find that a bit ridiculous...

  • HT1925 I was trying to make sure that all my Apple software was uninstalled, and I still can't remove C:\Program Files\iPod\.  I went to the Task Manager and it is not listed in the Processes tab.  What do I do now?

    Are you looking for iPodService.exe?
Might be better to run services.msc from the run dialog and shut down the service polietly.

    Hi
After successful installation of 9ias release 2 version 9.0.2.0.1 in the service following services are missing (oracle_home9ias122http_server , form server and reportserver ) which has to be present as per old version installation but in new version(9.0.2.0.1) it is not there is anyone has any idea regarding this what one should do to get those sevices ready.

Since you don't mention operating system, we assume you use Microsoft Windows something-or-other.
In which case, you open a command prompt, enter
    sqlplus /nolog
    connect / as sysdba
    startup
    exit
and post the entire console session.
(Replacing the 'something-or-other' with 'version and service pack' in our public knowledge base would be very useful as well.)

  • Remove-Item & Program Files folder: permissions error

I am attempting to use Remove-Item to delete a file in Program Files and getting a permissions error. But, I am a local admin, and I tried running the script as administrator. I have also tried -Force, to no avail. I hope I don't have to go back to the DOS
    kludge I used in VBScript.
    Any thoughts?
    Gordon

Well, this is odd. I tried doing it in the ISE, super simple, just Remove-Item and the raw path. Errors. But I verified that the folder in question is set to read only. So in the ISE I added -Force. And it worked.
So I went back to my code and added -Force back in. And it worked. I assume if I misspelled it or something I would get an error, and I can't imagine the order makes any difference. May be that midnight is just a bit late to be playing in this sandbox.
EDIT: The plot thickens. I have another folder giving me grief, but this folder actually says in Explorer that I don't have permission to view the folders permissions. this is a lame leftover folder after a (typically incomplete) Windows uninstall. Is there
perhaps a PowerShell way of taking ownership of a folder like this? In my VBScript version I actually used DOS commands to do the deletes, and they all worked.
    Thanks!
    Gordon

  • Solaris 10 panics during reboot after successful installation

    hello,
this is the 2nd time i'm trying to make solaris 10 x86 (latest dvd version) to
run on my asus w1n laptop. /first i tried cd version in last december./
and again i'm not being successful. what happens is this:
after (i guess successful) installation the system reboots and it panics
during the boot process. where and why exactly i don't know -- it just prints
the kernel banner and i noticed a change of screen font. and when it panics i
have no time to write down or even read the message as it reboots in a second.
does anyone have an idea of what might be going on or how to overcome this
    issue pls ???
/i want to give the system a try but so far i've got no chance./
    many thanks,
    martin
ps: pls cc me as i'm not on the list. cheers.

    Martin,
as a first step, try booting with -v. This will give you more insight on just where your system panics. Obviously, your system at least gets across the point where the video driver is loaded - that's where the screen font changes.
Since you seem to be able to boot from a CD/DVD Media, you may also try to boot to single user mode from there.
Don't get confused by the absence of the usual device configuration assistant / 2nd level boot dialog screens when booting from an install media - at the point where you are prompted for an installation type you can also enter, e.g., "b -s" (without the "", of course) for a single user boot.
You may then try to look into /var/adm/messages on your hard disk installation. USUALLY, you'll find some hints towards the problem source there.
    HIH, kind regards,
    Me

  • Adobe Captivate 7 will not open after successful installation

After successful installtion of Captivate 7, I am unable to open/run the program.  The error message below is received when attempting to open the program.  I've installed/uninstalled the program twice both with the same results.  Any thoughts on why this is happening??
    My system details:
Windows edition:  Windows 7 Enterprise SP 1
    Processor:  Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU
    Installed memory:  4.00 GB

Hello and welcome to the forum,
Did you install on the system itself, hopefully not on a networked drive? And is the default folder 'My Documents' on your system as well?
Which version: 32-bit or 64-bit. 4GB of RAM and a Duo, I would recommend 32-bit really.
Do you launch Captivate as an Administrator?

  • After successful installation of iTunes 10.6.1, iTunes will not open.  Tried complete uninstall and reinstall, still not working.  Cannot sync iPad or access iTunes at all.  Any suggestions?

After successfully installing the iTunes upgrade to 10.6.1, Now I cannot open and access itunes.  I have tried a complete uninstall and reinstall and it is still not working. I have looked through many support communities for answers.  I added an iPad 2 almost a year ago and all was fine until my upgrade to the "cloud services" and upgrade to new version.  I have been without iTunes on my PC for a month.  Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

I too have only recently encountered this problem. I have been able to burn disks before but it keeps making all these weird sounds. It might be a hardware problem but the fact that everything else that uses a disk works I doubt it.

  • CS3 Mac quits while trying to activate after successful installation

I nstalled CS 3 successfully, but while starting PS or Illy to activate, the programs quit unexpectedly. It took an exceptionally long time for the installer to finish, but it reported no errors, and I got a (paraphrased) "software was successfully installed. You will be asked to complete setup upon launch of of a CS application" message. I go to launch, but "unexpected quit" messages keep coming up. Do you think something went wrong with the install, and I should completely remove the Suite, and start over? TIA

I would wipe and install if the setup is that fresh. I would not install any other before the adobe software. Just install a fresh system then update to 10.4.11 don't even run any of the other updates. Maybe the Quicktime if you need it, but I don't think you do.
Now install CS3 you should be good to go. when everything is installed and activated now update the Adobe software then run the system updates. then install whatever else. This install order has always served me well when things got a bit goofy.
