Remove community tool bar

How do you remove the "community tool bar"?

Hi..
Insructions for deleting the CTLoader/Community toolbar:
Locate the files in bold print and move them to the Trash. The first five are in your root   /Library
/Library/Application Support/Conduit
/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
/Library/ScriptingAddtions (anything CTLoader realted)
/Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
The next one is in your Home folder.
~/Library/Application Support/Conduit
When you're done, try Safari.

Your problem is with the Community Toolbar.
It's a terrible app/plugin that messes up Macs like the plague.
Did you ever install a customized toolbar? Like a Facebook one? Or for watching sports?
Here's how to search and destroy:
    Close Safari.
    Check here for CT Loader
    Locate and delete:
    HD/Library/Application Support/Conduit
    HD/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
    HD/Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
    HD/Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
    HD/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
    HD/Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit
It may not be in every single location, but get it out where ever you find it.
    Restart Safari. Any Better?

You installed the Conduit spyware. To remove it, triple-click the following line of text to select it:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Conduit
Copy (command-C) the text to the Clipboard. Then select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the Finder menu bar and paste (command-V) into the box that opens. A Finder window may open with a folder named "Conduit" selected. If so, delete the selected folder.
Select Go to Folder again and enter:
    /Library
From the folder that opens, delete the following items, if they exist. You may be prompted for your login password.
    Application Support/Conduit
    InputManagers/CTLoader
    LaunchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
    ScriptingAdditions/ct_scripting.osax
Close the folder. Now select Go to Folder one more time and enter:
    /Applications/Toolbars
Delete that item. Close the Finder windows you opened. Log out and log back in.

I keep getting the message "Safari browser version you are useing does not support community tool bar." Where is this coming from and how do I get rid of it ?

That toolbar/ct plugin causes problems for all who install it!

    /Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
    /Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
    /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
    /Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit
where / is the root library on your Hard Disk.
If you are running Snow Leopard you should also look here:
    Library/launchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
    Library/Application support/conduit plugins

  • Safari version does not support community tool bar

Each time I open Safari 5.1.7 I get message "your browser version does not support community tool bar" does this mean I need to update safari?

That toolbar/ct plugin seems to cause problems for all who install it!
If you are running Tiger or Leopard:
Close Safari, then locate and delete the following files and it should be gone:
    /Library/Application Support/Conduit
    /Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
    /Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg

    Also, as mentioned by Gilli2000:
Library/Receipts - If you read it, it has information in it at the bottom referring extensively to "CT" and "community toolbar".
Maybe it is harmless, but trash those items anyway!
    If you are running Lion:
From the Finder Menu bar, select Go ▹ Go to Folder, and in the box that opens write:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Conduit
Delete the second item if it is there.
Now select Go to Folder again and enter  /Library

  • How do i remove extra tool bars that i've added?

I've added two tool bars, and one of them changed the google search engine to a yahoo, and it just wastes space. I'd like to remove both of them but i can't find on the website how. I just need to know if there's somewhere i can click and it just goes away or if it's a long process, and if it is a long process it'd be great to know the steps.

What are the names of those toolbars (View > Toolbars)?

    * In Firefox 3.6 versions on Windows and Firefox 4 on Windows and Linux it's possible to hide the "Menu Bar" via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu of a toolbar.
    * Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
    * Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the "Menu Bar" or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

  • Remove Contribute Tool Bar?

Is there any way to permanently remove the Contribute tool
bar that seems to post itself through out all of the MS Office
programs? I'm running Office 2000, and the Contribute (and Acrobat,
for that matter) tool bar and menu options are all through the
Office Suite. I don't use them, don't plan to use them, and they're
just getting in the way. Every time I turn the tool bar off, next
time I bring the program back up, they just come back. There
doesn't seem to be a way to permanently turn them off. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Jesse

You can disable using regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Contribute <please provide Version and exact location of the dll>\OfficePlugin.dll"
To enable again regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Contribute <please provide Version and exact location of the dll>\OfficePlugin.dll"
