Remove Credit card from iTunes account

I'm trying to remove my credit card information for my itunes account.  I go to Account Settings - Payment Information - Edit
I see the credit card types but I do not see the "None" radio button that I've been reading about in discussions and forums.
Can someone please help me ?
Could this be an OS X 10.7.2  issue ?
Thank you ,
Ken

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is  critical. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)
Regards.

On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.  If you are doing it on your iPhone then try tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and select 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

I'm not home right now, so don't have iTunes here. I am basing this on having to do this a few days ago, as well as pictures from Google Images, so things may have different names now...
Store (dropdown at top of iTunes screen)>View my account>Edit Payment Information>In the list of types of credit cards, the one at the far right says "None." Click that.

  • How Do I Remove Credit Card From iTunes Account?

    Hi,
Is there a way to remove ANY and ALL payment information from my iTunes account? And still have access to to it? Be able to receve the free updates and fix corrupted files?
I see one can now set up and account without a credit card but can you switch over to this option? ie; pay as you go?
If you haven't noticed Apple has been allowing a great number of false charges to go through and in my case double billing.
Of course I have to have a payment method on file to acces my updates and access my purchases. This is exasperated as due to new Mac hardware and OS ALL of my iTunes songs are corrupted ( even the back-ups so it is clearly an Apple software/hardware issue that is not allowing my, legitamitly purchased through iTunes store, songs play properly) and multile downloads are required sometimes to fix this.
Completely opting out or starting a new account would render all my previous purchases near worthless in the long run.
    Watch your accounts!
    Thanks,
    W

    1) It's actually usually a download issue that is causing your items to not download properly. Make sure to update your iTunes to the latest version, and if you have this issue, simply delete the item and go  back into the Purchased pane (on the front page of iTunes Store) and redownload it if available. If not, contact iTunes Store and they'll usually allow the download to you again. Don't go purchasing them again, as this just causes you to get charged again. Hopefully knowing this will save you some of these charges in the future.
    2) You can, if you don't have any due funds to the iTunes Store, go into your Billing Information within the iTunes Store and choose "None". Here's a link with some info on that:
    http://www.ehow.com/how_5652263_remove-credit-card-information-itunes.html
    3) Contact iTunes Store Support if you are having too many issues. They'll be glad to help you out with any of this.
    Hope all of this helps!

  • How to remove credit card from iTunes account

I have been trying to download FREE apps and recently it says its not valid and to change it. I don't have a real card or money to spend for an iTunes card. I have looked all over the web and nothing useful. I don't have a computer nor have one to use. I would think after paying money for a product and service it would work properly, even more so for how much these are worked on.

  • How to remove a credit card from itunes account?

I had a $100 prepaid visa gift card and after spending most of it I had a few dollars left and decided to put the credit card on my itunes account. I bought a few songs and used up the rest of my money. Now I have apps that need to be updated and it keeps telling me to verify my billing information and what not. So basically it won't let me update my apps. Is there a way to remove the credit card from my account? I don't have another credit card to put on my itunes account, this was just a prepaid visa card that is not rechargable so I can't put more money on it. What can I do?

  • HT2534 How do I remove a credit card from iTunes account?

I used a c card to download an app onto my teenage daughter's iPad.
Now I would like to remove the card from the account records.
    How does one do that?

I have the same question! This is what I have found out that might help you (however, it doesn't help me, so I'm still asking!)
Sign into your itunes account, under payment options, select none.
Enter the new credit card info.
In my case I have an expired credit card, the option "none" is not listed, and I have no new credit card to enter.
    Any help out there?

    help?

You can only have one credit card on your account at a time, when you enter new card details the previous card is removed.
To remove your current card from your account, on your computer's iTunes go the Store > View Account menu option and log into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.  If you are doing it on an iOS device then tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account  - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

How do I remove my debit card from my Grandson's Iphone account? the phone is under my plan and also the Itunes and I am being hit with up to $40.00 daily in charges he says he is not making.

You will need to log into the account that he's using. On a computer's iTunes you should be able to edit the payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into the account, and on the account's details page there should be a payment link.
If you are doing it on the phone then tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and selecting 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.
