Remove Custom Crops

When you create a custom crop in the develop module it shows up on crop list under "Enter Custom..." Is there a way to eliminate/delete items in this list?

It's in the catalog. You need a SQLite database access tool.
To view:
> SELECT * FROM "Adobe_variablesTable"
where name = "Adobe_customCropAspects"
To delete:
> DELETE FROM "Adobe_variablesTable"
where name = "Adobe_customCropAspects"

  • Custom cropping using pixel dimension

The banner image module for my website requires images cropped to 940 x 400 pixels. When I use the Custom cropping function in PSE 12 (on a Mac OSX 10.9.2), it only shows a cm dimension. Can I do a custom crop using a pixel dimension?

You should just be able to type 940 px and 400 px in the width and height fields
Another way is to use the Rectangular Marquee Tool and use Aspect>Fixed Size then enter 940 px X 400 px

  • Lightroom 4 custom crop boundary area display

We post hundreds of sports photos at a time.  We set a custom crop 7.5x10 which most closely enables all our supported print aspect ratios (4x6, 5x7, 8x10, etc.).  We have to be careful that the important photo elements are NOT in the boundary area inside the crop.  I mean we need to keep space inside our standard crop so that regardless of which print size you pick that the trim (either top/bottom or sides depending on the print) will not cut of important photo elements.  It would be very helpful if we could have Lightroom 4 display this boundary area with some type of shading.  That way when we do the crop we can see if an important photo element is in the boundary area, and then we can increase the crop.  Our objective is as tight a crop as appropriate while preserving the boundary area.  A visual cue would be most helpful with this work.
I'd appreciate suggestions about how to accomplish this if it is already possible or have Adobe engineers add the visual cue for a configurable boundary area inside the crop.

I understand what you are getting at. I went into PS and created a series of shape layers at the specified ratios and then centered them. I then expanded each proportionally so that there long side was 10 inches. On a portrait oriented photo there is a portion on the left and right that cropped on a 5x7 or 4x6. I tinted the shapes and then masked out the center area. I then save this as a .png file with the intent of using it as a watermark. This worked but is an after the fact confirmation.
While in the crop tool you can press the "O" key and rotate through different crop guides. The last one is a grid. (works the same in LR3) When I had the crop aspect ratio set to 7.5 x 10 (which LR4 simplfied to 3x4) this shows for me as a 12 wide by 16 long grid. Coincidentally, the crop danger zone appears to be very close to exactly one grid in width.
I don't know if this is a "close enough" solution for you.
**** I'm glad I didn't hit send before going back and looking at LR4 again. This works on a full size image with a maximum size crop. But if you starting shrinking the crop the grid size changes. Now if Adobe could maintain the grid so it ALWAYS shows in say 10 percent increments, then your danger zone would always be the left most and right most 10 percent.

  • CS6 Camera Raw - I can now only crop using aspect ratio in the custom crop setting rather than being able to set the dims in cm and inches? anyone know how to revert? ever since installing new mac operating system things have been strange!

CS6 Camera Raw - I can now only crop using aspect ratio in the custom crop setting rather than being able to set the dims in cm and inches? anyone know how to revert? ever since installing new mac operating system things have been strange!

    Hi Kglad.
I have looked at all of my settings both in Bridge and CS6 Photoshop regarding Camera Raw. I am at a loss how to set the crop tool in cm or inches as I once did - now the only option is to crop using ratios of 1:1 etc etc - This is infuriating as lots of my square crops I could set at 10" x 10'' specifically to print one to one to fit frame and mount size -
Now if cropping using bloody aspect ratio of 1:1 (square) the actual dims of the crop are roughly 4.25 inches x 4.25 inches. this means I then have to open the whole image in photoshop in order to crop at the dims I have set! It was so much quicker in terms of batch cropping in camera raw being able to set dims in centimetres and inches but they have gone and mucked around with it, with the new bloody update! Unless you are an absolute genius and know how I can go back to having an option of CM, Inches and aspect ratio within the custom crop settings? (Please say you do)
here is the new tutorial for CC -  my guess is they have scrapped the control we had over the custom crop settings

  • How do I remove a crop from a clip?

    Hi,
I have been putting together a selection of clips for a project. I applied a crop to one of the clips... but for some reason other clips have ended up cropped as well. How this happened I do not know. Best I can figure is that the clips I selected after I applied the first crop were also cropped as well.
I can see the small crop icon in the upper-left corner of the clips but How do I remove the crop... or do I have to remove the clip from the project and start over again???

CROP will cut off the top and bottom. FIT will letterbox to make it fit.
You might also check to see if you have turned on Image Stabilization. This works by zooming in, which looks like a crop. You can turn off Image Stabilization in the Inspector under the CLIP tab.

I am not sure I understand completely. I selected a clip and opened the Inspector, chose "CROP" and then adjusted the crop for that clip.... but exactly how do I turn that off IE reverse the process so that no adjustment is applyed?

  • Custom cropping in iPhoto 08

with iphoto 06, I could select custom and designate a crop of 5.5 x 4.0 inches, which perfectly fits my photo cards that I make. with 08, it doesn't seem to accept fractions.
Any work around with this issue?
Also, is there a way to save a custom crop and have it show up in the menu?

    True -- BUT
Any work around with this issue?
    Yes - since the crop is really just a ratio you can enter 55 x 40 and achieve your results (or 550 x 400 -- or 55000 x 40000)
Also, is there a way to save a custom crop and have it show up in the menu?
I do not believe there is

  • Custom Cropping in Lightroom

I want to crop my images to 840 px by 473 px but when I enter those numbers for a custom crop in Lightroom it defaults to 16x9.  How can I change this?
I've tried ratios close to 840x473 and multiples of that combination but nothing allows me to get that exact ratio.  I need this ratio for formatting on my website.  Any help would be appreciated.

In Lightroom, you don't crop to pixel dimensions, you crop to aspect ratio and then EXPORT to pixel dimensions as near as possible at that aspect.  If you want to crop to pixel dimensions you will have to use another program, do a lot of draging the crop corners around, or use Rob Cole's XMP CROP plugin.
840X473 is less than one pixel width of aspect ratio off from 16X9 so I can't see why it would cause a problem.  Lightroom tries to HELP by rounding the aspect to one in its list and this is really only a display bug/glitch.  It actually rounds when the numbers are even further off than this.  I agree that if you input 840X473 that Lightroom should just leave the aspect alone.  This behavior causes problems/bugs to show up in other places with the crop tool.  See posts #30 and above in this link.

  • Can I save custom crop values?

Is it possible to save custom crops to ACR 2.1.1.9 ?
I have a client who needs event images cropped to 1056px x 594px to use in Intranet presentations displayed on large monitors in their hallways.
I use 10.56 x 5.94 in the custom crop in ACR to do this. But whenever I crop an image to another size (ones that might go in their newsletter) I lose the custom setting and have to re-enter again and again to 10.56 x 5.94.
I typically process a few hundred 'candidates' from their events (2-3 per month) and the image dimensions never change. Is there a way to add this custom crop value to the choices in the pull-down list?
    Thanks
    Russell

That seems a good suggestion for the future request.
Meantime I believe you can only do this in PSCS using the tool presets

  • Remove custom field instead of default text field

I need  migrate to SharePint 2013 from 2007.
In SharePoint 2007 List include a custom field.
Dont use the custom field again,
I want remove custom field instead of default text field (remain metadata).
    How to do it ?
    Thanks

    Hi ,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to migrate SharePoint from 2007 to 2013 with managed metadata column. Is it right?
If you need to migrate managed metadata columns, you also need to migrate the Managed Metadata Service application. however, when you use this method, only global terms are available but the local terms  are not available.
So, if you used the local terms for the managed metadata column, I suggest you use a third party tool or manually re-create the column in the destination list.
There are some articles about migrating managed columns, please take a look at:

  • How to remove a crop from selected images

I need to create different crops on same image from one project, from project, to album, and smart folder i have one lot of crops and now i want to make other crops but the images in the project and blue folders have all the new crops too, how do i get back to a folder with no crops, I'd like to keep the retouches to these images though, i think i should have started differenttl?
    Help appreciated
    Thanks

Not clear on what you have, but to remove the crop on any given image; you can either clear the check mark in the crop brick or remove the crop adjustment altogether. The crop brick shows in the Adjustment Inspector when you crop an image:
    http://documentation.apple.com/en/aperture/usermanual/#chapter=17%26section=10
For more info on the crop tool:
    http://documentation.apple.com/en/aperture/usermanual/#chapter=18%26section=6%26 hash=apple_ref:doc:uid:Aperture-UserManual-91292MAD-1013949
Note - typically, you would create a new version for additional cropped versions of the image. You can use the 'New Version from Master' command (control-click or right-click on image for the menu). This will create a new version to work on that is un-cropped whether the current version is cropped or not, but will not include any other adjustments either.

  • How to print custom cropped photos in iPhoto

I have several photos (most actually) with custom cropping. When I use iPhoto to print to an 8x10 frame size on 8.5x11 photo paper, it just fills the space and cuts off the photo. Is there a "size to fit" option somewhere I'm missing so that the entire photo is displayed as cropped fully realizing this will not "fill up" the entire 8x10 space???

I'm wondering if you ever solved this within iPhoto?  I'm experiencing a similar issue in iPhoto'11 (9.4.1).  I have a series of square images.  I want to print them as square images on 4x6 paper.  I select my image and choose print from the file menu.  I then get the iPhoto print dialogue which is completely different from the print dialogues used through OSX (10.7.4).  Paper size selected is 4x6 borderless.  Under print size I get only the options of 3x5, 3x2 and 2x2, and custom of course.  The problem I have is that the image has been zoomed way in, as if iPhoto was printing a 12x12 inch image.  I can find no way to zoom the image back out to constrain it print within the paper size.  If I go to custom and set up 4in by 4in, then I do get a 4in square printing window, but the image is still zoomed way in.  Additionally, the iPhoto print dialogues allow no access to adjust print settings for different paper types.  After I send the image to print, another dialogue comes up which allows me to choose from all of my printing presets, but I can't adjust them.  Pulling my hair out!

  • Feature Request - custom crop default & making canvas larger

Please make lightroom quicker for people who use 8x10 instead of the original proportions from your camera.  I am aware of the trick to copy and paste or sync with crop,  however if lightroom could have a way to setup at a default custom crop so it loads up that way when first used, and keeps the crop as the default from one photo to the next that would be great!
It would also be nice if when cropping and you need to make the canvas larger and go outside of the original dimensions of the photo that lightroom does this automatically.  Right now I only know to use the scaling feature, it would be much quicker to just add this logic to lightroom so it scales outside of the photo when you are cropping if thats what you would like it to do.
    Thank you!

Brett  I dont think you understand my question.  theres two parts to it.
When you crop and select the aspect ratio theres no way to make this a default, so each time when i get to a new image i need to select 8x10 again.  if 8x10 was made to be my default lightroom would not crop out some of the pixels unless I choose the crop tool and use the crop tool.  I am just looking for lightroom to be faster its annoying how it defaults to the original image dimensions for the crop tool each time you select the crop tool you have to change the crop ratio.
The second request is one that rawshooter used to do automatically when you use the crop tool you can easily crop outside of the dimensions of the photo, thus making the canvas larger.  this gives you an image that you can place into photoshop and fill the empty spots, this helps change the composition of the image if shot with the model in the center you can easily move the model with a crop and by filling the background in the new empty space especially easy with a simple background.  I hope this helps, its easier to do more with lightroom.  i do it right now with the scale feature in lightroom, but it would be faster if lightroom did it automatically if you pull the crop tool outside of the image area.  Thank you!

  • Aperture custom crop dimensions change after exporting

I am a professional photographer that uses Aperture for photo editing and management.  I have very specific pixel dimensions that I need to use for finished work.  I set up my custom crop to my dimensions, but when I export the dimensions are not exact.  For example, my crop size is 2166X1600.  I end up with 2166X1599, 2166X1598, 2166X1601, and 2166X1602.  Any crops off by more than two pixels, I have to go back and try to recrop.  Any thoughts on why the custom crops aren't exactly what you set them up to be?

Export at 72 dpi and it will be the original pixel dimensions. The  1025 px dimension dived by 150 dpi is 492 px. As for the PDF version, never seen them export differently than the page size (plus bleed, etc if added). ID assumes 72 px per inch.
