Remove date stamp?

I'd like to remove the date displayed over my photos. I assume I can do so by clearing out the date field in the photo information area. But I'd like to keep the date info associated with the photo, just not display it over the photo. These photos will go to my website created by iWeb. Any ideas?

lboocker:
If the date is printed on the photo as Larry mentioned try using the Retouch tool in the edit mode to get rid of it. Depending on the background behind the date it can do a reasonable job of hiding the date.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Removing date stamps from photos

    Hi,
    Can anyone please advise if there is a quick and easy way to remove the date stamp from photos.  My brother has a heap of great landscape shots he's taken over the years, however he has always had the date stamp set on his old camera - he knows better now and won't use it in the future. How do can he improve the quality of the photos he already has by removing the date?
    Cheers

    Use the magic extractor tool.

    But you need to do the same for each of your single image.
    No way to do for all in one go except for resizing the images in one go via File->Process Multiple Files to that much size which can remove date stamps.

  • Removing date stamps placed on images by camera

    When taking some photos with a Nikon digital camera, the button that places a date stamp on the image as the picture is taken was inadvertantly on.
    Now I am trying to remove this data from the image and am wondering if anyone knows a fast way of doing this.
    I can tediously remove the pixels involved but then can't seem to fill in the gaps with something else. The usual replace color capabilities don't seem to work either.
    What am I missing?
    Thank you.

    You can use the Date Removal Tool - no, I am only kidding here.
    Unfortunately, you have created an image with the date/time as part of your image. There is nothing "below" this. The best that you can do is try and recreate the area of the image that WOULD be below that part of the image.
    As has been stated, the Clone Stamp Tool, and also the Healing Brush/Patch Tool will go a very long way. If one uses these at a high magnification, it does require some hand-work, and a good eye, but can be done.
    For what it is worth, the video folk are broken into two camps. Half want to "remove" this, and half wants to "add" this, regardless of which camera they used. If only they could get together, and all would be happy.
    Hints: look closely, so slowly and small, and be patient with your efforts.
    Good luck,

  • Removing date stamp from photos

    Some of my old photos were imported into iphoto with a date stamp from the camera/ Is there any way to remove this before I print them?? I have iphoto v 7.1.5 THANKS!

    1 - it is good to go through the iPhoto Tutorials - http://www.apple.com/findouthow/photos/#retouch
    2 - after you take the tutorials just play with it - Command-z will go back one edit - photos menu ==> revert to original will remove all edits and "revert to the original"

  • How to Remove Date Stamp?

    Can I use Photoshop Elements 9 to remove the date stamp from photos? If so how?  If not what other software is available to do this?

    Try the spot healing brush or the clone stamp tool.

  • How do I remove date/time stamp?

    Upon uploading the pictures into the Lightroom 'library' none of them appeared to have the date stamp that they did in camera. After a few minutes, the date stamp for each started to appear. Seeing that they first loaded without the date stamp leads me to believe that I should be able to remove it easily. How can I do this without the hassle of cloning/cropping/editing. Is there a way to remove it from the metadata perhaps?

    Which data/time stamp are you talking about, and why do you want to remove it?
    I mean, it can probably be done using exiftool, but usually people want to keep it/them (or correct if wrong..).
    I mean #2, I think you can remove it from exports, e.g. using a plugin like Jeffrey Friedl's Metadata Wrangler (if Lr's coarse handling doesn't satisfy), or if Jeffrey's plugin won't do it, a plugin like Exportant would.
    Or if you just want to remove it from display - then press the 'i' key, or adjust view options, or define a metadata viewing preset...

  • How Do You Remove The Date Stamp Setting On The Powershot A590 IS?

    The Date Stamp on our Powershot A590 IS was set by accident, and now we cannot seem to remove it. Anyone know how to change this setting, so that the Date Stamp will not be embedded within our photos (it even seems to be showing up on ALL of our pictures, not just the postcard sized ones . . . but those are our biggest problem, as that's the size we tend to use most)?
    Again, I'm not asking how to remove a Date Stamp from a picture, but how to change the settings so that the Date Stamp isn't applied in the first place.
    Any help would be appreciated; Thanks!

  • Re: removal of time/date stamp

    How do I remove the time/date stamp from photos in iphoto?

    Where is the time/date stamp? If it is in the EXIF data then you can not remove it but cna modify it - select the photo and use the adjust time/date command under the photos menu
    If it is on the photo then it is a part of the picture and can only be removed by editing - retouch or clone tool - you need to turn that feature of the camera off so it will stop putting the information on teh photo

  • Remove Photo Date Stamp?

    I'm using a Nikon CoolPix 7900 travel camera. I just returned from Europe with about 1,000 photos on SD cards for this camera. When I download the photos using PS Elements 2.0 every photo has a Date & Time stamp on it. I don't know how or why this happens since I don't think my camera has a feature for specifying this information?
    Is there any way to remove this date & time stamp before printing the photos? I still have the original photos on the cards.
    I'm desperate and willing to upgrade my version of PE to a higher version to be able to accomplish this task.
    Thanks, in advance, for any advice you may provide.
    Sanray19

    Thanks Barbara for your reply even though it wasn't what I had hoped for. I have the clone tool on my PE 2.0 and understand how to use it. It will be quite painstaking to use it for all my photos.
    What is the Healing Brush Tool you speak of? Would it be more efficient for my purpose than the Clone tool?
    For your information, I have taken photos with this same camera before and no date stamp has appeared. I have changed no settigns that I am aware of and now suddenly the date stamp appears? I'll double check my users manual for an explanation.

  • Adding a date stamp using Acrobat XI

    Hi there
    I want to add a date stamp to a voucher PDF, so that when it is downloaded and printed out, it displays today's (system) date.
    I followed the tutorial at: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/acrobat-x-tips-tricks/quick-tip-how-to-add-a-date-stamp-to-a-for m/   ,double checked the javascript, and this seemed to work. But when I checked the following day, the date displayed was still set at yesterday's date. It had not moved forward. I tried saving as Reader Extended/Enable More Tools, but that didn't work either and I think it removed the JavaScript altogether.
    In the original, I went to  Edit All JavaScripts and this is the code that was there:
    //-----------------Do not edit the XML tags--------------------
    //<Document-Actions>
    //<ACRO_source>Document Will Print</ACRO_source>
    //<ACRO_script>
    /*********** belongs to: Document-Actions:Document Will Print ***********/
    var f = this.getField("DatePrinted");
    f.hidden = false;
    f.value = "Printed on: " + util.printd("mmm dd, yyyy", new Date());
    //</ACRO_script>
    //</Document-Actions>
    Can anyone please help?

    Did you print the PDF and observed what happened.
    The video is about putting the date printed in the PDF just before the PDF is sent to the printer.
    I would have coded it as follows:
    var f = this.getField("DatePrinted"); // field object
    f.display = display.noView; // only print the field
    f.value = "Printed on: " + util.printd("mmm dd, yyyy", new Date()); // set the value of the field
    The 'hidden" property of the field is an old method and discouraged along with the 'print' property. Both of these can be manipulated with the "display" property.
    The "Will print" action only occurs when a print action is initiated
    Do you want this to change when the PDF is opened? Then you need to create a page open or document level script.

  • Shaky handheld footage with Date Stamp: Warp Stabilizer keeps failing.

    I suspect it's because the Date Stamp doesn't move while the camera shakes. WS has failed, despite trying a mix of options. Any advice?
    Is WS likely to even work when footage is shaky but the Date Stamp isn't?

    Thanks to all for the suggestions.
    Steve, You're right...I pretty much knew the answer, but was hoping there was some "magic method" I wasn't aware of. It seldom hurts to ask. The footage is a home-shot heritage interview from the mid-90s, and was brought to me as 1 of 3 chapters on a DVD.. I believe the interviewee may now be deceased, and while the date of the interview could well have been limited to the DVD label and insert, this was obviously a home-spun project. I'm simply trying to remove some of the flaws, e.g. camera shake and weak audio, as the customer is distributing it to a number of family members.
    Songline, your description is what I expected to happen, and, in one of my attempts, did exactly as you describe.
    Richard, What I ended up doing was to stabilize the footage (No Motion, Position, Stabilize-Crop-Auto Scale) then in "Motion", Position and Scale up enough to keep the Date Stamp out of frame. (I think that works best, as the original shot was head-to-knees and too wide for an engaging heritage interview). I did a side-by-side comparison with untouched footage for the customer to see and choose which he wants.
    It's not perfect, but much more watchable than the original.
    Thanks again.

  • Remove date impression on image

    Yesterday I have bought PS Touch for my Nexus 10 and have been trying to remove date impressions for some time now.
    I have watched the "clean up background" tutorial several times. I just can't seem to do it. I can't seem to select the date proberly and when I use the stamp tool it always "bleeds" into the surrounding are.
    I have been using Adobe Elements for years and never had a problem.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Is the background being cloned consistent (like in the tutorial)?
    As always, with Photoshop, there's more than one way to create a selection other than with the Lasso Tool. Try the other tools (or a combination of the other tools) like the Scribble Selection Tool or the Brush Selection Tool.

  • Date Stamping Photos

    I am newbie to Lightroom but am quickly loving this program.  One of the issues that led me here is date stamping.  Our dSLR does not allow for date stamping (Nikon D40x).  What it does is retains the "capture date" in the metadata ( i beliee most cameras do).  We take approximately 1,000 photos a month and would love to have them date stamped.
    Our processing is done through Kodak, who will not read the capture data from the metadata and stamp on the photo.
    My next option was thir party software - in comes Lightroom 3.  Well reading through the forums I found this was possible via LR Mogrify 2.  It was installed and it works great.  The amount of time I save vs the Gena Photstamper is incredible.  The problem I am having now is that Kodak auto crops the pictures before developing which crops the date stamp (located on the bottome right hand corner).
    I have selected on the Kodak site "print entire picture" which elliminates the cropping but leaves white bars on the ends of the picture.  The reason for this per the Kodak rep is due to photo size.  My next step was to go back into Lightroom and set the export size to 1200 X 1800.  The result was something close but not exactly that dimension.  Which still leaves me with either vertical or horizontal bars on the picture when processed.
    If anyone has encountered anything similar or if you have any possible solutions can you please help.

    May I suggest that you buy a camera that will imprint the date on your
    photo and be done with it. There are many point and shoots with good quality
    that will do this very thing.
    Keep it simple..........

  • Error removing data from MDS using WLST

    I'm new at MDS so i want to remove some data which I inserted in the wrong structure....sounds quite easy. After some looking around I should be able to do this using a deployment plan and WLST. I chose the last one as I am not realy familiar yet with deployment plans. I connect with my server and started WLST did the following:
    wls:/offline> connect ('weblogic', 'mypassword' , 't3://localhost:8001')
    Connecting to t3://localhost:8001 with userid weblogic ...
    Successfully connected to managed Server 'soa_server1' that belongs to domain 'MY_DOMAIN'.
    Warning: An insecure protocol was used to connect to the
    server. To ensure on-the-wire security, the SSL port or
    Admin port should be used instead.
    wls:/MY_DOMAIN/serverConfig> deleteMetadata(application='soa-infra', server='soa-server1', docs='/apps/deploy/*')The outcome was:
    Location changed to custom tree. This is a writable tree with No root.
    For more help, use help(custom)
    and after a while it closed the WLST connection. Can anyone tell me how I can remove data from my repository or what is going wrong here?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    I think you were getting this error because you had your server name incorrect : soa-server1 instead of soa_server1. Also it might be possible that soa-infra is installed on the different server.
