Remove Device from iSync?

I have tossed my old Treo 650 for an iPhone. After searching the Palm website and determining that there is no easy way to uninstall Palm Desktop and Hotsync from a Mac, I manually trashed the Palm folder and every file I could find on my system related to Palm and Hotsync. However, when I launch iSync 5 get a message that my Palm settings have changed, then the phone icon appears and the phone still shows up as a device (although with an "!" and a message that iSync needs to have Hotsync reinstalled). There is an option in the iSync "Devices" menu to remove a device, but it is greyed out.
Any idea how I can remove the device (phone) manually so that iSync stops looking for it?
Thanks for any hints.

I think I figured it out. In the Applications finder window I selected iSync, then clicked on the More Info button. Near the bottom, I clicked on Plug-ins, and then selected each palm conduit and then clicked the "-" button to delete the plug-in. That removed the Palm icon from iSync and I hope I am finally rid of the whole Palm software mess once and for all.

  • Can't Delete Old Device From isync

This is simple. Got a new cell phone...a PEBL. Put in my sim card from the old mobile into the new PEBL. Go to isync, to put it in. Can't..... only comes up with the old mobile, only icon isn't in the square silver box (so I can delete it?) because the old mobile doesn't have the sim card...therefore, can't delete it, to reinstate new one. The "find me"in my new mobile is highlighted, all the bluetooth's are working...but isync doesn't find it. What can I do?
    Thanks,
    Peter

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
The presence or absence of a SIM card should have no impact at all on your ability to remove a device from iSync. If you cannot select the device in the main window and choose Remove Device, or if that effort does not result in its removal, then do this:
    • quit iSync
    • locate the com.apple.isync.registry.plist preference file in your User Preference folder
    • drag that file to the Trash
    • relaunch iSync
That should effectively remove the device from iSync.

  • How do I remove device from icloud it was traded in and wiped but still listed as a device

I Traded in my iPhone 5 at Verizon store on 9/20 for the iPhone 6 and watched the phone being wiped before heading home with new phone. However, when I checked icloud.com today it still shows the device in device list. Tried a find my phone but all that shows up is my iPhone 6 & iPad. Any idea how to remove device from iCloud!

The songs I don't want aren't checked and haven't been for a long time. You would think that would be the answer, but it isn't for some reason.Nothing has taken the songs away. Songs that I have deleted from iTunes and even the computer still stayed on the phone as well as songs that were NOT checked. In addition to albums I have NEVER downloaded... unless many, many, years ago and have no recolection of it. And they are NOT in my iTunes library or stored on the computer. And I don't have iTunes match. I've also restored the iPhone this afternoon. Still have the songs! And I haven't even signed into iCloud since the restore... which I lost all of my recent contacts during, but that was my fault for not checking to make sure I synced them before restoring.

  • Purchased a 2nd hand iPhone - unable to set up as it displays as associated with prior owners email - he has removed device from his account but still won't let me complete set up. Any advice on next steps?

Display shows previous owner set up find my phone function & it is linked to their apple account. Owner has removed device from a/c but
it still won't allow me to proceed with set up.

    Hello Penng185,
Steps to be done to remove the device from the previous owner's iCloud Account, if you have already done this things then there might be something that you might have missed due to which the iPhone is still showing the Find My iPhone Activation Lock screen.
    Resolution : http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4515
If the previous owner is with you and can access the device
Ask them to enter their Apple ID and password on the Activate iPhone screen (shown above) to remove the device from their account. You can then proceed through the rest of the device setup process.
If the previous owner is not present
Contact them and ask them to follow these steps to remove the device from their account:
Sign in to their iCloud account at www.icloud.com/find.
Choose the device from their Find My iPhone device list by clicking All Devices and selecting the correct device.
Click "Remove from Account" to remove the device from the account.
After the device has been removed from the previous owner’s account, turn it off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button located on the top right side of the device. Then restart your device and proceed with device setup as you would normally.

I've read Mr. Reed's Mac Malware Guide, and found it very interesting and informative. I use Sophos for Mac Home Edition; it's free and scored highly in Mr. Reed's tests of anti-virus software.

  • Remove devices from Device Security list in McAfee...

    Hi there,
Does anyone know how to remove devices from Device Security list in McAfee Dashboard as part of BT Net Protect Plus? It's just there are devices that I no longer manage in the list as well as devices that either currently or no longer have BT Net Protect Plus installed. Your help would be much appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Paul

    Hi rajinderpauluck,
Thanks for posting and welcome back!
Have a look at this link - I don't want BT NetProtect Plus anymore.  How do I remove it?
You best bet, to completely remove those devices, is to run the BT NetProtect Plus removal tool which will remove all traces of it.
    All the best,
    Robbie

  • Can I remove devices from my iTunes account

I have devices connected to my iTunes/Apple ID account that I no longer own. Is there any way to remove these devices? It shows five devices connected, but I only have two that are still being used.

On version 10.6.1.7 Windows 64-bit & 32-bit, I'm only seeing and option to deauthorize all devices.  I was expecting to see a list of devices from which I could pick and choose.  What am I missing?  Do I have to deauthorize all devices and reauthorize?  That seems a little silly.

If I unregister my iPhone through the Apple Support Profile will I lose my backup data?

    Thanks for any advice.

    Hi kellie929,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Your husband may have signed into the iTunes Store with his Apple ID. You may want to first click the Store menu in iTunes and see if you can choose Sign Out.
You can sign into iTunes with the right Apple ID by following these steps:
Using an existing Apple ID with the iTunes Store and Mac App Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2589
To use your Apple ID at the iTunes Store
Open the latest version of iTunes.
Choose Store > Sign In from the Store menu.
Enter your Apple ID and password, then click Sign In.
Click Review when asked to review your information.
Enter your billing information, a credit card will be required.
Click Continue when you're done entering your credit card and billing information.
