Remove existing website content and replace with iweb 08 site

Hi
I have an existing website (not iweb) on personal domain name that needs complete overhaul - I want to replace it with an iweb 08 site using same personal domain name. I am new to the mac world having converted a few months ago - also don't know html code etc.
How do I remove the existing web content to make way for the iweb site using the same domain name - do I download folder using cyberduck and delete content from public_html folder - will this clear the way for new site to be published via iweb and .mac ??

I think what you are asking might be better put this way:
"When published, will my current Domain name automatically go to the new site, and if not, what do I need to do to make it so?"
The answer is no, it won't. If Web City is also your Domain name registrar, then you will either have to transfer it for use with .Mac, or forward the Domain to the .Mac url.
I have not personally transferred any of my Domain names to .Mac, but I don't believe it is hard to do. You can go into System Preferences on your machine, click on the .Mac icon, navigate to "Account info/Personal Domain", and go from there.
There are many here who have already done this so I'm sure someone will chime in and lend a hand if you run into difficulties.

Copy all the content on your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes. Then go ahead and sync the iPod with your new library.

Remove People from Backgrounds and Replace with Solid Grey Backgrd

I have several photos of people with poor backgrounds that I want to replace with a solid medium grey background.
How do I get or make the background.
I assume I use the Quick Selection tool to select the person but I don't have an image with a solid background.

Open you picture file
Use one of the selection tools to select the foreground
Go to Layer>new>layer via copy (CTRL+J)
Place a blank layer between the background layer and the layer created in step #3
Go to Edit>fill layer, and in the drop-down for contents select 50% gray. OK it.
Note: In step #5 you can use any color. Set the foreground color chip to the desired color, and fill the layer with the paintbucket tool

Remove preinstalled iLife 08 and replace with iLife 06

I'm planning to buy an intel iMac shortly. I know that iLife 08 comes preinstalled on the machines - is it possible to delete everything except for iDvd and reinstall iLife 06? I was told by a genius that it can't be done because of the licensing agreements or something like that. In other words, you can't remove bundled software

You can remove the bundled software but if you install iLife 08 on the new computer without deleting them from your current computer you will be in violation of the license agreement.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Removing GMAIL POP Account and Replacing with IMAP Account

Because I want to sync my Gmail account on two Macs and discovered that IMAP is better at this than POP, I want to delete my Gmail POP account and add an IMAP account. Mail > Preferences indicates that all received mail will be deleted as well. Since I want to keep received emails, should I move them to a folder in On My Mac? I don't see where emails are stored on the hard drive, so until I know that I'll be able to retrieve them, I don't want to delete the POP account.

You may find that all these messages also exist on the Gmail server, and if so they will sync with the IMAP access. The account folder and the Inbox, etc, can be found at Home/Library/Mail in a folder beginning with POP.
You can leave the POP account, and only disable it in Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advanced until you check or transfer the info.

UZBL wants to remove dmenu-vertical-xft and replace with dmenu

Thinking that UZBL may have a PKGBUILD that asks for dmenu.
uzbl-tabbed and uzbl-browser that is.
uzbl-core installed fine after removing uzbl-git.

I wanted to rewrite the process and remove the call to f-54 and replace with bapi process.
if this is now possible in ECC 6.0
The benefit would be to better control what PO was used in the DP recoupment.

How do I remove one failing hard drive from raid set and replace with new one

Last Friday apparently one of my raid drives started failing.
As I mentioned on this forum I started getting continous beeping.
I was finally able to get the raid working at a degraded level. I ordered a replacement hard drive which is arriving today.
(In the meantime I made twice daily backups of my work.....)
Below was the message I got from the browser based raid software:

At one point when I did the checked the browser interface I saw the message Failed and Degraded
As I said, I was able to work over the weekend on the degraded system.
This morning I got the beeping again and did the rescue and now I am running a "full raid" without the notice that one raid was "Free".
In any case, the new hard drive is arriving today.
What steps should I take to incorporate the new drive into the raid system.
I have one OS drive
and 4 tb raid drives.   One needs to be replaced with the new one that I am getting today.

Please tell me how to read the serial number from an individual drive rather easily, without un-installing them:
If you select the proper drive to change out, you only need to remove one drive and look at its serial number...
Step 1: Identify bad drive serial number using Areca's tools
Step 2: Turn off the computer
Step 3: Remove what you think is the bad drive based on following your numbered cable method, marked hot-swap bays, whatever
Step 4: Verify that the serial number matches the "bad drive" serial number from step 1; if it does great, proceed; if it does not match, go back to step 3
Step 5: Change out the CORRECT drive - that's the bottom line for this whole procedure

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy of your computer to put everything on the new one.
It sounds like you have failed to do this, which is not good at all.
You will have to transfer your itunes purchases from your iphone. Authorize your computer for your itunes account
About iTunes Store authorization and deauthorization
Open itunes, plug in iphone, do NOT sync, click File>Transfer Purchases
When you do sync you will lose your pics ( photo library - synced from your old computer), your itunes content ( music, apps, videos,etc) , your contacts and your calendars. So do NOT sync yet. This is why a backup copy is so important.
Enter one unique contact and calendar entry on your computer.
When you first sync, you should get the option to merger the data. Choose it.
If you want your pics, then you will need to e-mail them to yourself before you sync. They will not be of the original quality as they are reduced when synced to iphone.
When all is as goos as it can be, then backup your computer, and always maintain the backup.

Something like this:

But then it replaces the whole member with space which I believe is not something you are looking for.
One other option is to have another alias table in your database and select the new alias table in FR. I know this is an option for Essbase. I am not so sure about other db connections.

I want to search the given string array and replace with another string array using regex in java
for example,
String news = "If you wish to search for any of these characters, they must be preceded by the character to be interpreted"
String fromValue[] = {"you", "search", "for", "any"}
String toValue[] = {"me", "dont search", "never", "trip"}
so the string "you" needs to be converted to "me" i.e you --> me. Similarly
you --> me
search --> don't search
for --> never
any --> trip
I want a SINGLE Regular Expression with search and replaces and returns a SINGLE String after replacing all.
I don't like to iterate one by one and applying regex for each from and to value. Instead i want to iterate the array and form a SINGLE Regulare expression and use to replace the contents of the Entire String.
One Single regular expression which matches the pattern and solve the issue.

As stated, no, it can't be done. But that doesn't mean you have to make a separate pass over the input for each word you want to replace. You can employ a regex that matches any word, then use the lower-level Matcher methods to replace the word or not depending on what was matched. Here's an example: import java.util.*;
