Remove fields from ODS objects with data

Hi
Is there a smartway to delete the infoobjects from an ODS without deleting contents? These fields are just added to ODS, and activated the ODS. But, now we donot want them and want to delete these objects from ODS. Any ideas???

Hi,
If it will not be possible for you to reload the data to the ODS after deleting, you can try to create a copy of this ODS, move the data from original to copy, delete data in original, make changes and reactivate, and then move data back from copy to original.

Using su21 I have added the field USER into the object class SD -> V_VBAK_VKO. Now I need to remove it and I do not know how. Editing the object, there is not any option or button to remove authorization fields. It is very strange because I can add fields but I cannot remove them.

I do not know what I can do.
I can not remove the manually added field at V_VBAK_VKO authorization object.
If I try to create V_VBAK_VKO object appears the following message: u201Cthe name does not conform with the standardu201D. I think its name has to begin with Z or Y.
I can not leave the authorization object like its initial status, with VKORG, VTWEG, SPART, ACTVT authorization fields.
As a result, I can not modify the roles where this object is used. u201CAuthorization default values of transaction VA03 for object V_VBAK_VKO inconsistentu201D.

In ESS->Emp Search -->Change office and communication Data..I have to remove a field "License Plate No" as we are not using it..
How to do it..

Update data targets from ODS object automatically

Hello experts,
I have an ods (that has two delta loading every night) with the setting: "Update data targets from ODS object automatically". This ODS is source of only one other ODS.
But we have a chain when there are the seguent steps: delta 1 --> ODS1,
delta 2 --> ODS1; Activate ODS1; delta --> ODS2; Activate ODS2.
The setting "Update data targets...automatically" could create some problems?
I think this because it is happened that in delta loading of ODS2, some records have only the key filled, and all the data fields blank; then, if I make a full repair of these records, all data are correctly filled.
Could be this the cause?
Help me..it is urgent..

Hi Vito,
To have better control of processes when ods gets data from multiple sources and supply it forward to ODS and cube ...we generally deactivate the flag "update data automatically".
And Process chains looks like ..
From source 1,2,3 update data into ODS 1.
Activate Data ODS1
Initiate delta from ODS1 to ODS2.
Activate data ODS2.
We did face some problem of blank records with only key filled and later deactivated the checbox "Update data into data targets automatically" and it resovled lots of issues.

Error on activation of data records from ODS object

Kindly help with my BW Problem, the error occured on the
activation of ODS. The error says "Request

status green before it is activated" and "Activation of data

I tried to check the data in the ODS Object by choosing
<LS>Administrator Workbench > data targets > context menu on ODS
Object ZPUR_O01 but the status are green and when i tried to

1) delete the current request
2)Reconstruct the requests above three request
3)and then Load the current reqest (REQU_43MNOPW29W4F5M037J7OAFP52)
Then only u will be able to activate the ODS....
This is an serialization issue...

- First check the Error Messages from the context menu of the activation step. Also check ST22 & SM21. This will tell you where the error is. Sometimes you might get duplicate records.
- Next use the "Manage" context menu for the ODS in RSA1. Check if any of the previous records are red. If its red, it would mean that either load/activation has failed for previous request which needs to be corrected first b4 you correct the current one.
- If al the above are OK, simply repeat the Activation step.

While activating ODS request I am getting following error
"Activation of data records from ODS object KFI02O50 terminated ".
data load is suceesful for ODS but during activation of the request it is giving error.
I tried to change the status to green manually & then activated the request but still same problem.
Also I tried to delete request & loaded again from PSA & then activated the request but still same problem
If anybody has some solution please let me know.

Hi Sonal,
Sometimes when there is erroeneous records that time while activating the Request request get fails.To check this go to manage tab of the ODS there under log u can see the log icon click on that and check y activation got failed..

Remove fields from MSS (60.1.2) iViews

Hi, I have one issue related to removing fields from standard iViews in MSS 60.1.2. Could this be handled by object and data provider customizing in R3 or do I have to develop an new iView?

From what I found , the information comes from the following function module:
HRWPC_RFC_EP_READ_GENERALDATA
Returns the following:
The system determines the contact data according to the following procedure:
       1.      The system reads office and telephone data from infotype Internal Control (0032)
       2.      The system reads infotype Communication (0105)
                            a.      The system reads the e-mail address (subtype 0010)
                            b.      If the Internal Control (0032) infotype does not contain a telephone number, the system reads the telephone number from subtype 0020.
       3.      If the system cannot find the data when reading the infotypes and subtypes, it reads user data.
The system reads the remaining data from the Organizational Assignment (0001) and Basic Pay (0008) infotypes.
And does not seem to look at any configuration in the IMG for determining columns.
Have you considered modifying:
EEProfileGeneralData.jsp
which is the name of JSP used for display?

Remove fields from dashboard

The dashboard on the cProjects entry page (4.5.) contains about 50 different columns. Some of them are visible by default, while others can be added via ALV-personalization (link "Settings").
I have now successfully added some customer fields to the dashboard, so that I have about 60 columns.
Now, some of the default columns do not make sense at all in my company. How can I remove them from the dashboard (with removing I mean not only remove them from the default view of the table, but also from the list of possible columns under "Settings").
I can of course delete them from the structure DPR_TS_DASHBOARD_ATTR, but this would be a modification, and could lead to syntax errors or other problems after the next upgrade.
Is there an easier way?

I don't think you can remove them, as it's a standard layout. For there are two options:
- Either you remove the them from the defailt view in the administration mode for instance. In that case, the columns remain selectable in the settings as you mentionned.
- Or you create a custom extract layout, copy from the standard one, without the non-desired fields.

Can you check the HTML-coding of the view? What is the name of the view? I could also check it in my system, even as we are not using this specific view. My other thought was, that it is a button, then you could remove it from the internal table GT_BUTTON of the IMPL-class of the view, but after rethinking I think it might be in the HTML-coding.

I found something that will work.
In RSA1 I clicked on the 'Modelling' tab in the left pane.
I then clicked on the 'Status Overview' and I was able to review the ODS's there.

Remove applications from the "open with" menu

How do you remove applications from the "open with" context menu? I seem to have one instance of a program for every time it was "updated." So my "open with" menu has about 8 instances of Adobe Acrobat, 3 or 4 of Word, etc. It's obnoxious and cumbersom. Any idea how to edit this context menu? Thanks.

1)open terminal and copy and paste:
/System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/\
Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister \
-kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user
enter and wait the prompt
2) delete this files and restart
library/caches/com.apple.LaunchServices-xxxxx.csstore
(more than one files with the xxxx i mean number)
~/library/preferences/com.apple.launchservices.plist

as suggested by the message, did you update the meta data by doing a replication of datasources for the source system 'myself'? If not, do so and reactivate the communication structure. Then reload.

Depending on what you want to do you can import the video directly using Layer --> New Video Layer e.g. when covering up fied spots with a brush blob on a layer on top of the footage, but you may also need to create separate layers for each frame using the Frames to Layers script so you can paint on each of them individually. There's really too much we don't know and the possibilities are potentially infinite...
