Remove Hidden Information

Hi! I am using Adobe Reader XI and can't find the QuickTool menu on teh right side of the document. I need it because I want to use the command Remove Hidden Information from a PDF file which keeps on giving me the error code 135 whenever I edit it and try to save it. I tried to save it under a different name but didn't help! I've read in the forum to try using the Remove Hidden Information, but didn't find it Any help will be appreciated.

May be that this function is not available in Adobe Reader.

  • How to disable 'Remove Hidden Information' popup when closing PDF in Acrobat X on Mac?

How do I disable the function that causes the 'Remove Hidden Information' popup when closing PDFs in Acrobat X? I'm using OS X 10.9.4 on a Mac?
I've searched online and was directed to Preferences>>Security (enhanced) to uncheck 'Unable Enhanced Security', but it wasn't checked.
This box (see screen shot) opens each time I close a PDF. I'm forced to select an option before closing.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Go to the menu Acrobat>Preferences
In the Preferences window's "Categories" pane, select "Document"
In the "Hidden Information" section deselect both check boxes
    Click the OK button
    You should be good now.

  • Remove Hidden Information tool

    Hi,
I would have a question regarding Acrobat's 'Remove Hidden Information' tool. Under Tools, Protection there is the 'Remove Hidden Information' tool. When I click it the results can be seen on the left side. Under 'Comments and markups' the sum of objects can be seen. I figured out that it detects bookmarks, links (internal, external) and objects described here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/X/pro/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7e7f.w .html.
But it also detects some other objects as well which I am not aware of (based on the number of objects detected). I also know that it counts 2 objects when using 'Replace text' from the link above.
Does anybody happen to know what additional types of objects does this tool detects and how to search for them in the document?
    Thanks for your help,
    Csanad
    I use Acrobat version 10.1.5

The hidden text is the collection of glyphs on the PDF page that use text rendering mode 3 (no stroke, no fill).
Any links placed in association with such hidden text are not "hidden" (that is not how it works with PDF Link annotations - see ISO 32000-1:2008).
Any Link annotation placed in a PDF are the same as any other Link annotation (with the exception, of course, of whatever the link's Action happens to be).
So, no special sauce for links that were placed in association with now removed "hidden text".
In context of what you've written it may be that you will have to select - Ctrl+click the Link annotations of interest then tap the Delete key.
    Be well...

  • File sizes explodes after removing hidden information

After removing hidden content in Acrobat Pro X (Tools/remove hidden content or Tools/sanitize) the file size increases, up to 10x (2 MB -> 20 MB). Save as optimized PDF only partly reduces the problem, file is still 3-4x the initial size. Document was created with Adobe PDF writer, but this problem occurs in principle also with other PDFs. Bug? Necessary? Workaround? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Any one found a solution to this problem?
I'm having it too, acrobat xi pro 11.0.10...
Original file size before cropping ~27MB
Same file saved as optimized PDF before cropping ~12MB
Original file size after cropping ~27MB
Same file saved as optimized PDF after cropping ~12MB
Original file saved as some other file name after removing hidden information ~60MB
Same file saved as optimized PDF after cropping AND after removing hidden information ~60MB
What on earth is going on?

  • BUG - remove hidden information - Acrobat remove some visible/live text (in all Acrobat versions)!!!

    hello
I need to check many pdf for hidden/clipped text and remove them. Acrobat can find this BUT have bug.
Acrobat mark some live visible text and this is problem if you click "remove" button.
    Here is evidence (6):

It was strange in my copy of DC, but I selected the Redact tool and then remove hidden information. I highlighted the hidden info in both files, but then backed out, not doing the remove. When I tried again, the remove hidden tool was blocked. When I actually did the removal, those items were missing as you mentioned. I am not sure why they were listed as hidden since they were indeed visible. I am not really helping answer the problem, but confirming your results.
Also, if you select remove hidden information when closing the document, you lose these fonts characters just as when using the Redact tool. I would agree that this is indeed an issue for a bug report. An earlier post provided the bug report link and I would suggest using it.

  • Remove hidden information without converting to RGB

I'm preparing a PDF for one-color printing, and it has some color data off the page that's messing up our prepress process. So I ran "remove hidden information" to cut that data out, but it converted the entire file from CMYK to RGB. I obviously need the file to stay CMYK (getting it down to just K was the whole point). Is there any way to remove cropped/overlapping data without converting to RGB?

You might try running the Preflight single fixup under Pages to "Remove page objects which are completely outside of page area" instead.

  • "Remove Hidden Information" not functioning properly after crop

    Hello all,
I often print multi-page MS Visio documents to PDF, then edit them in Acrobat Pro XI.  I have found that since the most recent update of Acrobat Pro XI, when I crop a page, then select "remove hidden information," it only removes text information, and not all the information that is cropped.  For example, if I have a box filled with text that is partially cropped, and I select "remove hidden information," the portion of the text that is cropped is removed, but the entire graphical portion of the box remains and can be seen if the file is "uncropped."  Is there a solution for this problem?  It seems like it should be easy to remove all the previously-visible data that has been cropped, and in the past, I have been able to do so, but I can't seem to any longer.
    Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't expect it to remove part of a graphic in general. I haven't compared results.

  • 'Remove Hidden Information' Message

    Hi,
I've seen this message a couple of times, each when I tried to close my work.  That's the message box that has 3 options:
    *close without removing info
*remove info but do not close
    *remove info then close.
That does that message box and the options mean?
How can I 'see' what 'hidden' informations are??
Hope someone can explain to me.
    I'm using Acrobat X.
    Thanks,

The ability to remove the cropped areas used to be and option in the Reduce File Size, but it was removed several versions ago. I think it only lasted through the version that introduced Reduce File Size (AA7?). I typically refry such systems as TSN mentioned, but it is not generally a recommended technique. If you do not have any tags or markup, then the refry is fine -- a process that would remove all tags and other markup. It might be possible to put them back with replace pages, but never tried.
I have read the redact bit in another post. I think that will remove the content of the areas, but does not reduce the size of the actual page. It is still cropped as such. I would suggest trying it on a test file and see what happens.

  • Tools-protection-remove hidden information = how to create report where is hidden text???

Acrobat can show preview hidden text in pdf. Is it possible to export this preview window in some html like report or something?

I find something about this. I make screenshoots of this with combo mouse recorder pro and screenpresso. mouse recorder click on arrow (next page number) in acrobat hidden text window and than click printscreen which trigger screenpresso to make picture into folder. Not comfortable but work.

  • Sanitize or Remove Hidden Info INCREASES File Size

When I remove hidden information or sanitize a document, it nearly doubles the size of the original file. Why?? Shouldn't the new scrubbed file, if anything, be smaller?

From what you write above it sounds like all is normal and expected. If you keep adding to the file it will increase the file size.
Keep in mind that AI has unlimited undos it has to store this information somewhere, it would be pretty unreasonable to expect it to do this without increasing the file size and also if you add effects or other live operations that has to increase the file size as well even if those operations do not seem live to you.
That means it has what the object was and then it has was the object is now and it has what the object was and is as yet another contained package so to speak.
16 bit may change this somewhat. But one has to expect this. BTW the more points you have in a file the more it can have effect on how well AI will work and may also increase the file size.
But I think this all sounds as one should expect.

  • Overlapping objects in hidden information and OCR

when i use text recognition, i can search for words. This works great. I also need to remove all hidden information, which removes 'overlapping objects', which disables the text recognition. is there a way to have zero hidden information in acrobat and at the same time have OCR?

Nathan, there are a couple of techniques you can use to make this kind of work easier. First off, you can assign a build animation to an object and then move it do a different place on the slide and the animation will still work. So, in your case, you could create the replacement objects, apply the build in you want, apply the build out to the original objects, and only then slide the replacements on top of the originals (using the guide lines to line up exactly).
Alternatively, you can use the Send Backward and Send Forward menu items to manipulate the objects. If you have two sets of objects (grouped together), one original and one to be the replacement, you can move the original in front of the replacement, apply your build out, then send the original backward, and the replacement set should now be on top (presuming these are the only two groups on the slide). You can even put icons for Backward and Forward into the toolbar of the Keynote window for easy access (in the View menu, select Customize Toolbar).
    I hope these tips help.

  • Hidden information in pdf file

    Hello everybody,
I've recently started using BI-Publisher and therefore I'm not very familiar with this tool.
I am using an XML file (as data source) and an rtf template to create a pdf file (I can't use a pdf template)
l'd like to know if there's any solution for the following problem :
I need to pass along some "hidden" information in my pdf file
(hidden like in metadata or anything similar : the data should not be visible on the printed document but present within the file).
The "hidden information" is a field of my XML file.
Anyhow, this hidden information must be available/accessible for those manipulating the pdf file.
Do you have any advice how to solve the problem ?
Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Publisher does not currently support embedding meta data into the output PDF. You could embed some delimited 'white' text e.g XXXX>This is the text<XXXX in the output thou. As long as your 3rd party can read the text you would be good to go

  • HT201322 How do you remove hidden purchased apps permanently?

How do you remove hidden purcased iphone applications (Apps) permanently?
When you delete the app from your iphone and also the from you Mac computer, they are just hidden and not deleted pernanently !!!!
There isn't and option to allow you to do this. Maybe this is a safeguard to secure and not to accidently delete purchases but as with most delete functions 2 or more levels can be built in with confirmation at each to minimise this but ultimately the user's need the option to completely temove all unwanted items purchased or not.

You can't delete the purchase record as far as I know.
You can hide it from reappearing as a purchase to download:
