Remove Host Manually in 12C...

Hi,
I want to remove some hosts in 12C grid control which were decommissioned in past but were never removed from grid control. If I try to remove from grid control it gives error host not reachable. I'm wondering is there any method to remove these hosts from repository using scripts.
Other question I have is:
I created host metric extension to take export of database. When I test the extension it fails with error metric collection timeout of 300 seconds occured. How can I increase the timeout for host metric extension. The export can take more than hour.

Are you trying to recover from a failed install? Check the RDBMS installation guide for instructions for that.

Bare-metal deployment to previously used host fails - removing host references.

I am running SCVMM 2012 R2 and setting up bare-metal deployment of Hyper-V hosts. I got it almost figured out but I am getting a failure when it tries to register the host with the error The fault reason was: 'Unexpected registration of physical
computer 4a310166-642f-e211-0050-05000000003a.' in the vmm log file vmmagentpe.exe.log. The error onscreen in PE is
Error: 803d0013. I have been using this server for my testing and have had a few other failures which are now resolved. All other tasks in the job complete except for
Wait for physical machine to reboot and customization to be finished.
This host was also registered in VMM as part of a manually built cluster before I started looking into bare-metal. I believe the problem is that there are probably references to this host in VMM.
Does anyone know where to look in the db or another method to remove anything related to this host?

I figured this out. It was rebooting to PXE instead of booting to the newly installed OS. once I reset the boot order to local disk it came up and ran mini-setup, domain join and all as expected.

Cannnot remove host target in Grid Control 10.2

Chaps,
I'm trying to remove a agent discovered in grid. I've done:
1) agent is running
2) removed all database targets, listeners etc discovered in grid
3) shutdown agent
4) tried removing the host from either the hosts or all targets page, but the remove just hangs for ages and then comes up with:
"No Response from Application Web Server"
Grid is running ok as far as I can tell.
Anyone with any advice before I raise yet another SR?

In the end I did (on oracle support advice):
exec mgmt_admin.delete_target ('<name o/t target>','<type o/t target>',0,0,1);
exec mgmt_admin.cleanup_agent('<name o/t agent>');
And that appears to have done the trick. Was that your script?

Re-Adding Removed host gives Duplicate SMSBIOSGUID.

My environment is SCVMM 2012 SP1 Rollup 2. My hosts are mixed with Windows 2008 R2 DataCenter Core and Windows 2012 DataCenter Full GUI. I removed a clustered host to re-image the system outside of VMM Console. During the removal, the server
went PENDING with no options to remove the server. After the rebuild of the OS, when adding the server back to the Cluster, the Job log shows "Error (21201) Another machine with the same SMBIOSGUID is found." Removal of the host and re-adding
the Host does not change the error. Removal of the Cluster and re-adding the cluster does not change the error. I know it is a SQL table that contains the GUIDs but have been unable to locate the table. Does anyone know where the SMSBIOSGUIDs
are stored in SQL other then the "dbo.tbl_ADHC_Host"?

I have a similar issue...
I removed 2 nodes from my 2008r2 cluster without error via scvmm 2012 sp1, rebuilt the 2 nodes as 2012 clustered servers (full install not upgrade) and when i try add the 2 servers in with their new names scvmm
comes up with the same "another machine with the same SMBIOSGUID is found"
anyone?
Update: when i checked the vm tab, the 2 hosts did indeed install and refreshed ok, so not sure why the initial add virtual machine host job failed with the above error...

Removing targets manually

Hi.
I am in a situation where a couple of servers(hosts) are decommissioned and we did not stop the agent(oem agent on decommissioned servers) before that. Now I am facing issues to remove those targets(hosts, agents) in our OEM 10g R1 Grid control. Tried to search for scripts to achieve my desired result, could not find. Can any one assist me.

Cannot uninstall reader 8.1.4 with add/remove or manually

I cannot uninstall using add/remove or with the manual instructions in KB400769. Add/remove gives me a 1402 error and the key has "unknown" in it. KB400769 fails when removing registered files acdoiehelper.dll, acropdf.dll, and pdfshell.dll with "access denied". Windows install clean up doesn't seem to have any effect except to remove it from the add/remove list. Updates to 8.1.4 don't work (1402 again) nor does trying to download 9 (1402). How in the world do I get rid of it so I can install later versions of reader?

Have you looked in the registry to see if there are still entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Java?
You should erase all files in the various JavaHome directories that are listed in the registry. You can also erase the registry entries, but of course, be careful because damaging the registry can kill Windows.
Also, java.exe and javaw.exe are frequently stored in the "Windows" system directory. You should delete these files as well.

Removing host name from jsessionid

We have a standard installing of IWS 6 and the host name is included in the jsessionid even if not configured in wep-apps.xml (we are using the default wep-apps.xml and there is no session-cookie tag in the file. Doc says you have to set session-cookie to add the host to the jsessionid, but it seems to be there by default)
How can we get rid of the host name in the jsessionid?

The easiest way would be to upgrade to 6.1, the default there is just a random string. I looked into changing the session id string before, and if you look at the session manager code, it gets the session id string from the calling process. I suppose you could simply add in a bit of code to strip off the hostname from the front of the string. Otherwise, I am not sure how iws6 creates the session id string.

Search and remove subscribers manually from BC

I am wanting to remove several subscribers from multiple email lists.
Is this possible without having to scroll through countless pages from a variety of lists?
We often get around a dozen people who mail in and say 'remove me from your list' as opposed to managing their account.
In order to remove them I have to do the following.
Choose the first email list of many
change drop down display to 50 address
click address column to sort into alphabetical order
scroll through until I find the place where the email would be
if there, delete
if not there, assume its on a different list or they did actually unsubscribe as well as send the email to unsubscribe
With tens of thousands of email addresses and multiple lists, this takes a long time.
Is there a way to simply enter a search, then delete?
The only way I could see at the moment is to export, excel search and delete then re-import. Don't really want to be doing that though.

In Admin, go to CRM > Search and lookup the user's e-mail address. Any user subscribing to a mailing list is turned into a CRM Customer. Once you find the contact, open it and go to "Subscriptions" and untick the respective list (all subscriptions will be listed on top, under "Campaign List")

You can only "Forget this Network" while actually connected to the network, so ignore iamjeremi's post. Other than restoring your phone as a new device, you can't if you cannot connect to the network anymore.

How do you remove iTunes and other Apple products from my PC, manually?

I just bought a $250 5th-gen iPod. But I can't install iTunes.
A while back, I think I just deleted the program folder or something, or maybe the the uninstaller just somehow broke on its own. In any case, the program folder is gone and the uninstaller doesn't work.
Running the iTunes installer gives me the following error:

I did a search and found the iTunes.msi file in a temp folder. I selected it in the installer to try to solve the problem, but I received another error message:
The file "C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Owner\Local Settings\Temp\IXP460.TMP\iTunes.msi" is not a valid installation package for the product iTunes. Try to find the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in a folder from which you can install iTunes.
So, I uninstalled QuickTime and tried to manually remove every iTunes files and iTunes-related registry entry. No good.
When I run the iTunes installer now, it hangs\freezes when it gets to "Registering modules."
The only solution to the problem is a full manual uninstall.
I called Apple tech support and explained the problem, and they said that registry issues were a third-party problem, emailing me a tech support page I'd already read and suggesting I call Microsoft -- but oh, she said, make sure you don't tell them it's a problem with iTunes registry entries "or they'll refer you back to us."
Yes, because what the iTunes installer does to my PC is not a third-party issue.
I don't blame the tech support people, though, and I hope my post here doesn't lead to any of them being reprimanded.
Anyway, my request is simple: Someone, anyone, give me a list of every file and registry entry that Apple software adds to my computer, so I can remove it manually.

hmmmmm. by any chance do you have SpyCatcher (or the version of GhostSurf platinum that contains SpyCatcher) on that PC?
if so, try uninstalling SpyCatcher altogether prior to the itunes install. if it goes through properly this time, launch itunes at least once prior to reinstalling SpyCatcher.

Deleting/dropping/removing database using Enterprise Manager (12c)

Hi,
I have run some searches and review the documentation... but I haven't found any way to drop/remove/delete databases using 12c EM.
We have multi-instance environments (one physical server with several instances/database). And from time to time we have to remove one or more instances when they are decommissioned.
So far we are using DBCA, but I wonder if there is any way to do the same with EM "out of the box ...
Could someone point me in the right direction?

Hello Francisco,
the only "out of the box" methods to delete/remove a database would be:
- Create a "User defined procedure" to do the job - Checkout the "Lifecycle Management" guide in the documentation
- When using the Self Service Portal as part of the Cloud Management feature, users would be able to request for a database to be created. When requesting for a database to be created the user can also identify for what period he/she would need the database. Meaning that you can indicate the moment a database need to be decommissioned. In that case not only a Job will be scheduled to create the requested database, but also a job will be scheduled to remove the database after the indicated time frame has passed. Check for this the Cloud Management Guide.
- You could of course also think about doing this using a custom made script that you could schedule from the EM job system.

How can I manually remove/rip out the ZAM 7.5 client from a PC. I have
tried to uninstall, but it says " This action is only valid for products
that are currently installed." If I try to reinstall it, it says I have to
uninstall the previous client first. Is there a list of reg keys and files
where I can just remove it manually and reinstall?

Go through HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ins taller and make sure its not still sitting in there...
