*I just want someone to let me know that this is the best way to delete my user account and create a new one, but I need to make sure that my files and applications stay intact.*
Those are a bit contradictory goals. First, there's only one way to delete your account without erasing the machine and doing an Erase & Install: you have to create another admin user account, log into it, and delete the original. If you installed your applications the normal way, they should reside in /Applications, not in /Users/your username/Applications, so they're available for all current or future users. As for *your files*, why would you want the new user to have them? Those are private and shouldn't be transfered. Finally, for all Apple apps that didn't come with the machine and 3rd-party apps you installed separately, you need to include the installation disks and manuals; otherwise, what you're doing is illegal. You might want to reconsider why selling the computer tomorrow is so urgent.

Hi I am having problems removing mail from trash folder. I can send mails to the folder but cannot delete them permanently from the trash folder. I am using Iphone 3G and anm up to date with OS. Can anyone help please

Check that there isn't a different Trash folder to the one with the proper Trash symbol on it.
If you see one in your list of folders rather than a separate one, highlight it, then click on Mailbox...Use this mailbox for...Trash

  • Remove Mail from mailbox after accepting mail by another guy

I have an requirement in such way that if one employee accpets the mail, mail should get removed from mail box of other employee.
Mail are the MS-Outlook mails and all employee are group together in one address book.
In second scenario, if employee sent one mail (For ex. Leave application) it goes to two high level. If first level try to approve it at time it should prompt error message that second level approval is pending.
Please let me know is it possible through ABAP or workflow?
    Thanks in stack

    Hi Nilesh,
<i>at first I don't really have very good news for you:</i>
Removing mails from Outlook is a microsoft feature and does only work when developing an appropriate application for this one. Removing mail items also prerequesites that an Outlook template/form is used and it is not a "mail" object anyways.
Solving the problem this way would possibly exceed any one's project's budget.
    <i>The better news is:</i>
What you might think about is the Outlook-Connector for SAP which comes with the Frontend-CD that opens up in a separate "inbox", which refreshes from the SAP's workitem inbox. If a certain workitem disappears it will also disappear (after the refresh time) from the outlook's inbox as well.
As I have said in one of my posts before I'm still not sure if that interface product is still activly supported by the SAP. Furthermore I have experienced certain curious effects that came up, e.g. that read-notifications from the last years have been sent once again. Also consider more network traffic etc.
For the second scenario you where asking, you should think about opening a new thread and a bit of more detailed information about what you are asking exactly.
    Best wishes,
    Florin

  • Removing Mail from a MailBox via Command Line

    Hi,
I have a mailBox with > 10,000 (Mailing List Bounce).
I'd like to be able to delete all the mail from the command line.
    Is that possible?
    Thanks,

    Hi BriGy,
Base on my search, if you want to remove these service account permission, you need to remove from organizational level, not mailbox level.
Please refer to the following thread, it may give you some hints:
Deny permissions for Domain Admins on mailboxes

  • Will the email client on my MacBook Pro remove mail from my Exchange 2003 in order to receive it?

I just received my new MacBook Pro yesterday and I have an Exchange 2003 server that I would like to work with the email client. now I know some email clients in certain modes will download the mail from the mail server removing it from there at the same time. My question is will the email client remove the mail from the server in order to receive it? I want the mail to remain in the mailbox so I will still have it available at my office later. I am honestly not certain what version of OS X it is, and I don't have it handy, but I just bought it last week. Thanks!

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    What's the plist file?
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.
    If that fails:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • How To Remove Timecode From Program

I am using PS3 Premiere Pro.  I've added the Timecode Video Effect to the project in order to collaborate and complete my edits.  Now, I no longer need the timecode, but I am unable to turn it off.  How do I remove the timecode effect from my project before I render a final video?

    Bill,
Thank you for your quick reply.  I appreciate the help.  However, I need a point of clarification.  You said to right click on it and clear.  If I right click on the actual clip and clear, it removes the clip from the timeline.  That's not my intention.  I want to keep the clip, but eliminate the timecode effect.  However, if I right click over the Timecode in the Effects control panel, I get two choices:  New Custom Bin or New Presets Bin.  Sorry I'm not following.

        I have the following program
delete from RSRPARAMETRIZA  where PERSONAL IS NULL.
However, it does NOT seem to delete ALL entries where PERSONAL is empty.
Can you please advice how to modify this code ?
This is super important guys, require immediate assistance.

is RS** table is a database table or internal table?
If its database table, then following statement is correct.. I would recommend use 'space' instead of 'null'
if its an internal table use below
delete rs* where personal eq space.

Well, you're not alone, as I've stated, neither can I. Next time, if you want it done using the phone, find any 12 year old kid. They'll rearrange everything for you in a few seconds.

  • Remove mail from server

I can't receive any new mail because my iphone or ipad keeps it on the server. How do I change that?

I have the same problem - assume it's a bug - I've been search around and several people have reported this. Guess we'll have to wait for 1.01. You might also find that when you delete mails, you get strange display messages such as -2 messages unread...

  • How do i remove mail from my iPad inbox in bulk rather than going and ticking each one individually?

I have many emails in my inbox on my ipad and I would like to delete them "en masse" - is this possible without deleting them in

If you have iOS7 on your device it has the ability to mass delete. If you have 6 or lower then there is no way do to bulk deletes on your iPad.

  • Removal of mail from server in mail

my Mail program will not remove mail from server when marked to do so in advanced preference settings. I have marked mail to be removed upon retrieval, but the mail sits on the server and builds up until I manually click "remove from server". What to do? Is there an update for 10.3.9 to correct this?

    Bob,
Glad my little "0 size" discovery helped you as well!
Here was my post from the other thread that you said helped you out:
Marc, thanks so much for your post. The first time I tried this it did not help, (in fact I deleted quite a few "new" emails with no luck), but then remembered the ctrl-click "Get Info" command on the faulty email account inbox just to see what was going on. . . . .
In the window that shows all the messages that are currently on the server, ALL my mail showed up, which seemed strange that it would not download it even though Mail knew it was there. I noticed, however, under the "size" column that one of the messages had a size of 0 (zero). I deleted that one, clicked "get mail" and it all started downloading! Apparently the first time I tried it I just erased the wrong messages, and managed to miss the one that was causing the problem (because it was not the message immediately after the last one successfully received as Marc suggested).
To everyone else who is having this problem. . . do the "Get Info" command on your inbox that is having the problem and check to see if any of the messages on your server that are not downloading have a file size of "0". This was obviously a glitch on the server side, but at least I know how/where to find which message is causing the backup. Hope this helps!

  • How to STOP Mail from launching at startup

I hate even posting this question because it seems like I'm missing something easy. I want to stop mail from launching at start-up because I now have entourage.
I can find how to TURN OFF mail and TURN ON entourage at start up.
    Mail: 2.1.3
    Entourage: 12.2.3

You're overlooking the obvious, as you suspected.
Go to System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items and remove Mail from that list. If you want Entourage to startup, add that to the list.
However, there's no good reason to use Entourage over Mail, especially because it stores all your mail in a single file, so if that file ever becomes corrupted (it will, at the worst possible time) all your mail is gone; it cannot be recovered.
Secondly, you shouldn't startup applications at launch, since that will slow down your startup time and can easily cause other problems before you even get the chance to do anything with the computer. If you need to use a program, launch it after the Finder has loaded completely.

  • How to remove mails (and attachments) permanently?

    Hi!
I just realized my Archive.mbox (~/Library/Mail/V2/Mailboxes) is quite big (8.5GB) and I decided to remove old mails with large attachments.
As I use GMail account via POP3, first I removed mails from the Google account and I freed up about 1.5GB extra space. Later, I searched for mails with attachments in Mail.app, then sorted then and started to remove and emptied the trash. This operation was quite weird as some of them where moved to the Trash folder, some not.
As I was controlling the space of the Mailboxes folder this is what I noticed:
    - Archive.mbox - the size of the mbox didn't change (anyone know why?)
    - Deleted Messages.mbox increases while removing another mails then decreased while wiping it out (this is what I expected)
In summary, I removed a lot of mails and didn't free up ANY space! Does anyone know how to do it properly?
Also, while googling I found out about "Mail Downloads" folder which is moved from Library to ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Mail Downloads. As I set "Remove unedited downloads" to "When Mail Quits" can I simply remove all subdirs from this dictionary to save some space? This folder is only used for copy of attachments, right?
    Thanks for anwers,
    Bart

Each IMAP account it's own Archive folder. POP accounts all share the same Archive folder.
I removed a POP account in Mail but the archive messages did not delete. You would need to move them out of the Archive folder then trash to remove if you have archived other POP account messages. However, if it's only the one account, you can manually delete this folder in the User's Library then rebuild the Mail index.
    Quit Mail
Go to the User's Library folder. This folder is hidden by default. To unhide: Select the Finder in the Dock. Under Go in the Menu bar > hold down the Option key and you’ll see the Library.
    Scroll to Mail folder.
Mailboxes folder stores the "On My Mac" messages. IMAP accounts store it's Archive folder in the account's folder.
In Mailboxes you'll find the Archive folder. Delete.
In the MailData folder, delete the 3 files with envelope in the name.
Open Mail and it will reindex your messages.
Let me know if this helps.

  • Removing Mail

What is the process for removing MAIL from my MacBook -- or at least disabling it so that whenever I attempt to copy an e-mail address MAIL does not automatically open all sorts of intrusive, unneeded, unwelcome windows? I have already "poofed" (or whatever AppleHip term is used to remove something from the toolbar/docking bar/whatever AppleHip calls it) the MAIL icon, so it no longer appears there. I went to System Preferences, which would be the location where logic and reason would lead one, but, no, AppleLogic is different from common sense logic, so it's not that simple or straight-forward. Looked under MAIL Help, but (no surprise this) there is no mention of how to remove MAIL, only email messages. And now, ever so humbly, I turn to the Support Forum in hopes someone with thinking processes better aligned with AppleThink can provide an answer. Thank you.

You got that right, it's a crazy deal... you have to use Mail to disable Mail... well not disable but have it not be the default Mail APP which it tries to open when clicking on an email addy!
Mail>Preferences>General... 1st line... Default Mail Reader, then choose something like Text Edit... or a dummy APP you can delete aftrwards maybe!
