Hello, can you please help me. I want you (someone who does that) to remove my Skype Name from the Skype directory.
I removed all my personal information from my profile.
"If you want us to remove your Skype Name from the Skype directory, you need to contact our Skype Customer Service. It may take up to two weeks to remove your name from the directory."
I've read everything about this topic. So, please, can you just do that?

Please do contact Skype Customer Service to file your request to remove the account - remember, this is a one-time request, is permanent, and will disable your account from further use.

If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service, try again using a different web browser. Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent. I can't be found in the Skype Directory

Why am I not in the skype directory? No one is able to find me using my skype name, real name or email address......

Just to confirm if one of your friends can search your Skype Name/ Skype ID on Skype Directory?

How do I remove myself from the Skype directory?

Basically, I only want people who I've given my skype handle to, to be able to initiate a connection request with me.
I am propositioned daily by numerous people overseas wanting to connect with me. I'm sure they don't have my skype handle. They are finding me in the directory. I'd like to be unlisted and only findable to those who know my exact Skype handle.
The lack of a way to inhibit this contact spam is really annoying, and is reflecting poorly on Microsoft, now that they ultimately own this. It's hard to feel this is a professional product when random people can message you right within skype like this.

I think you may need to contact customer service regarding such concern. You may be asked some verification questions before they can assist you with your request to remove your name from the directory.

Remove My Skype Name from Skype directory

I don't want to receive contact request from anyone who knows my name so I wanted to change my Skype Name and change my Display Name to stop people finding me with my full name on Skype.
But I read in this topic "https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA110/can-i-change-my-skype-name-or-display-name-in-skype-for-windo..." that It’s not possible to change my Skype Name. And If I want to have a different Skype Name, I will need to create a new account.
So I start looking for how to delete my present Skype account before creating a new one. And I followed all the instructions in this topic "https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA142/can-i-delete-my-skype-account". Now I need to remove My Skype Name from the Skype directory. I tried to contact Skype Customer Service by Email but they're having some problems at the moment.

Help with Account Removal from Skype Directory

I need help with removing my Skype account from the Skype Directory. afaik, all users can use the email support option. But as you said you can not use that facility, send an email to their generic email address instead - [email protected]

Hi, I want to remove a username from the skype login screen on a Samsung Smart TV, but haven't found any way of doing it. I managed to remove a username on a laptop PC by looking up the Skype help but that method doesn't seem to work on the Smart TV - anyone got any suggestions? Thanks

There is a way of doing this, but it involves resetting ALL of the smarthub back it's default state - which would mean that you would have re-install any other apps that you have downloaded.
To do this, go to the SMART HUB menu and press the TOOLS button on the remote. WHen the menu appears, select the SETTINGS option and then RESET. You'll need to enter your PIN (if set) before you can reset the SMART HUB back to its factory default state. When it's completed, Smart Hub will update itself next time you go back to it, and you'll notice that all of the Skype Names are now removed from the sign in screen.

Improvement to Skype Directory.

In an older version of Skype, there was an actual directory. In order to add someone to your contact list, you had to know their name or visit the Skype website and browse the directory until you found them. However, in a person's profile setttings, there was an option to remove themselves from the onsite directory and couldn't be found. Period.
By re-adding this feature as a small check box with a description of "Do you want your name to be listed in the Skype Directory?" people would be able to remove themselves from all search results. This will fix the harassment issue of random people trying to add you or your child and send malware, viruses, URLs to child pornography and other illegal content. It would also prevent people who have been blocked from trying to re-add you in order to continue harassment.

Skype Directory Not Working Properly?

Hi All,
I recently noticed since the upgrade to version 7.0.0.102 that I can no longer search the Skype user directory for people by their registered email address.
I also am unable to search for people who were formerly in my contact list. If I deleted someone off my contacts list in the past, I still was able to pull up the past chat history by finding their user name in the directory and then opening up a chat window to view the past conversations. Now the Skype directory is unable to find them. What is going on? Are you removing users from the directory when they haven't logged into their acounts for awhile or what?

I just tested this; it worked for me using FireFox and Internet Explorer browers. Try signing on to the Skype website first - the Sign On link appears at the top right corner of the website page.

How would I create a set of folders in the /tmp directory using AS?

I have a set of folders that whenever I restart my machine they get removed (they're in the /tmp directory as they are temporary cache files).
Right now I'm manually re-creating those folders whenever I restart.
So how could I automatically create the set of folders on startup?
I need to create:
/tmp/fcgi_ipc/
/tmp/fcgi_ipc/dynamic/
I figure I can create an bit of AppleScript and set it to run on startup...but I'm totally clueless on exactly what that AppleScript needs to be.
I've tried various "make new folder at ____" but nothing is cutting it.

Consider ...
set base_Path to "/private/var/tmp/" -- path to 'tmp' folder.
set base_Folder to "fcgi_ipc" -- Desired base folder.
set sub_Folder to "dynamic" -- Sub-folder of base folder.

Me on skype directory

When I search for my email address in the skype directory, 7 different accounts appear. I've used 1 microsoft account to create skype accounts multiple times (which later unlinked and closed those accounts), but now that I decided to keep it, all previously deleted skype accounts still are associated with my email address (microsoft account). Any way to get then deleted from the directory and keep just the active one?

I do not know of a way in Skype Manager to block a user affiliated with a Skype Manager profile from searching the Skype directory for other Skype users.

I want to remove what Skype identifies as "Tell you friends what you are feeling . . . ." One person on the Skype community said I could rename a file, but he thought I was on a PC. I am using OS10.7.4, and Skype is functioning OK.

Actually it is possible to delete your own mood message updates but it requires an unsupported ”fix”.
You need to delete the keyval.db database file. In order to be on the safe side, it’s best just to rename this file, so you can always get it back if something went wrong.
You can find this file by entering %appdata%\skype in the Start Run/Search box. This will open the Skype User folder. Locate there the folder with your Skype Account name and the keyval.db file will be there. You must stop Skype from running on your computer before deleting/renaming this file. Next time you start Skype a new version of this file will be recreated and all mood message updates will be removed from the home page.
However, this guy didn't know I was on a Mac. I phoned Apple to see if they could show me how to get into the Skype file apparently on my computer, and they couldn't find it.
Anyone out there have any ideas? It doesn't seem as if I have any Skype files on my computer. If I need to make file changes via "the terminal," can someone tell me how to do this?

I had the same problem with finding this file.
There's no such file in Mac OS X version of Skype. But there's a directory for your Skype user account in /Users/%current_user_name%/Library/Application Support/Skype/

renaming old folder
signing into the Skype
