Remove name when sending email

Sometimes when I send out an email I don't like my name to be included in the "from" field.
I know I can change my name in the preferences of the mail app. but isn't there an easier way to do it on the fly?

Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Tap on your email account. You can change the Name in the settings for that particular account. Where it is in settings is going to depend on what kind of email account you have. For example, for iCloud, I tap on my account name under Advanced.

Not sure what you mean. Do you add a new calendar? Then you don't "change" but give it a new name. Or do you want to change an existing one. Then you're back to my first response here, if nothing else.

Deleting names when sending emails

When start to write a name in the "send to" line of an email. The email address' of the names of people I have emailed before pop up. Most are contacts and some are not. Is there a way to reset this so nothing pops up?

How can I conceal my personal name when sending email out from my iCloud email account?

I prefer to keep my first and last name private when I send e-mail about for my iCloud account. In the body of an e-mail, if it's a personal correspondence and appropriate, I will THEN elect to provide my full name. But I don't want my first and last name appearing involuntarily in the header of my e-mail as it arrives in the recipients inbox.
I called tech support and spent 90 minutes on the phone on Sept. 23 and we did not manage to arrive at a solution. Revealing the first and last name connected to the account should always be an "elective" item. Privacy is paramount these days and not every e-mail you send out is solely for trusted friends and relatives. In age of Internet privacy woes, discretion should be the default and exposure of personal information the exception.

If you are concerned about your full name being associated with emails your send from iCloud, you may find the following articles helpful. If the concern is about the address itself (i.e. [email protected], if you happen to have an address like that), you are able to create an Alias address tied to your account. If that is not a concern, you can also change the Full Name associated with your current address from the same Preferences > Accounts menu:

Wouldnt it be so neat if when sending emails to multiple contacts that you could place a check mark beside the names you want to include in the email?

Welcome to the support forums!
The error you are seeing is normal, all it means is that the list will be truncated meaning you will not be able to see the full list of people in the CC field but you can add more and it will send the message to all of them.

MacBooks can't resolve printer name when sending job to windows 2008 R2 print server.

So I am work at company in a windows server 2008 r2 and we have a windows 2008 r2 printer server. Our macbook pros are not on the domain so every time we print to the server we have to type in our credentials.
MacBooks can't resolve printer name when sending job to windows 2008 R2 print server while on wifi but works when hard wired. Any thoughts? The error message I receive is "invalid printer name". I've tried adding the printer through the advanced tab in the print and scan tab of system preferences. I add it buy smb://servername/printername.
When I tried to print on the wifi at my office I get "invalid printer name" in the print job status que.
We can just do direct printing but I would like to know if anyone has had this issue before and if you could point me in the right direction. Thanks!

I assume you aare using exchange when configuring the email notifications? What I would do is just use a normal IMAP & SMTP account such as Outlook.com or if you use a POP connector for exchange, one of those accounts' SMTP settings.
For example, I have a POP connector installed and my emails are hosted at 1and1. What I would do here is put my 1and1 SMTP settings in and use these, instead of using Exchange.
Let me know if this is possible.

When sending emails from my iphone, using an alias, I've noticed that it sends it using my real name. This defeats the purpose of using an alias!
When I send it from my Mac using the mail app, or from icloud on the web, it uses the name I've designated for the alias, but this is not the case on my phone.

Just go to icloud.com and click the gear in the top right corner (Preferences). Then go to the "accounts" tab and click on the alias you are trying to use and then when it comes up, insert the name you would like to use. If there's any more questions you have, just reply.

Attachment failure when sending email

three days ago I detected the problem with Convergence,attachment failure(any type of files) when sending email,the attachment suddenly disappears (confirmed by checking the convergence webmail Sent folder and the recipient only receiving the body text message without the attachment(s)) .However , sending with attachment through mail client software such as Thunderbird is OK . before this problem happened , the system can send email with attachment without any problem . Please help on how can I fix this ?

How do I eliminate the thumbnail picture when sending email?

When I am compsing an email there is a small thumbnail pictue of me in the upper right hand corner. How can I eliminate it??
Also when sending emails they show as coming from me, but when my wife replys to an email they show as coming from her. I would like to have her emails identified with her and mine from me. Can I do that with one account???

I finally got it, but I had a difficult time figuring out how to remove it from my contact file.
Concerning email addresses, if I set up a separate email address for my wife will all incoming emails for both addresses automatically download to my Mac and iPad???

Starting to type a name and getting a list of matches is good but it's not a substitute for being able to choose twenty or thirty names from your address book and dragging them into the "To" field. Of course many contacts can be put into a group but I may want to send occasional emails to many people who don't fit any group, and there may be no need to create a group just for that email.

Thanks for your question.
This issue might occurs due to lots of reasons. Do you have a virus scanner installed which integrates itself with Outlook? If yes, please try to disable it, and then try again. You might opt to uninstall the virus scanner temporarily to make
sure it will not interfere the testing.
Also, lots of Office crash issues are caused by third-party add-ins. You might want to have a check and see if you have any integrated with your Outlook client which might cause the issue.
Since the issue occurs randomly ("Two are three times a week"), Office
Safe Mode will not be effective here, just manually disable all third-party add-ins in Outlook FILE>Options>Ass-Ins, use outlook for a period of time, then verify result.

3rd party email addresses have to be deleted on every synmced mac product, although I have 1and1.co.uk and my imac updatetes the mails in that account from mac mail.
Yahoo etc is a 2 step deleting process but good to get your emails pushed when on the go.
