Remove Navigation panel header  scrollbar and Design Bar

Hi guys,
I need your help. I want to remove the Navigation panel header  scrollbars and Design Bar from the Navigation Panel.
Please how can I do that.
Looking forward for your response.
Dakata A. Ibrahim

Hi Abdu,
You can change them from the Theme editor under System Administration-> Portal Display. Edit the required theme .
You can change the height and width of the scroll bar images to 0px. Similarly for the design bar also you could do that else you can make the url to design bar to some blank image that coincides with your background color.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Uma.

  • Remove/hide navigation panel header

    Hi,
I tried making the expand and collapse icons to 0px and also made the detailed navigation iView "tray" property to false but it did not help me.
I have to hide or remove the navigation panel header(the expand/collapse panel). Thanks in advance.
    Rgds,
    Janvi.

    Hi Patel,
To hide the navigation panel header there is nothing to do with the theme editor. For that you have to edit the default frame work page.
Open PCD>>Portal Users>>Std Portal users>> Default frame work page
Select the Desktop inner page from the default inner page and edit>> select the delatiled navigation iview and choose edit...
Select the Apppearence Tray from the Property Catogary drop down.
Make the <b>Show Tray</b> option to NO... save and close ...
This will hide the detailed navigation header.
If u want to hide the header of other iviews like portal favorites in the navigation pannel these are the steps to follow.

  • I can't remove Bing. I've tried Control Panel, the article "Removing the Search Helper Extension and Bing Bar," and I have had no luck for Windows 7 and Firefox.

I can't remove Bing. I've tried Control Panel, the article "Removing the Search Helper Extension and Bing Bar," and I have had no luck for Windows 7 and Firefox.
I wish I could share the two screen shots I took, but this question site doesn't have the option, so I guess I'll describe where Bing is showing up.
In the left hand of my browser, just to the right of the back and forward arrows, there is speech bubble with a black eye ball or something. I found out it's Bing-related by clicking on it. There is no option to remove it with either left or right clicking on it.
Also, in the right hand corner of my browser, at the very end of all my tabs, there is a white rectangular box with an orange "b" and a magnifying glass symbol. It will not respond to anything I try to do to it either, but if clicked it opens a new tab with a Bing search dialogue box.
Finally, any new tab I open automatically opens to the Bing search dialogue box (versus Google).
I need to get specific, step-by-step instructions for removing this Bing stuff from my computer. As I said, I have already gone through all steps outlined in the article I mentioned above as well as not been able to locate Bing in my control panel.
Please help. I'm certain others are having this same issue. I use Windows 7 and Firefox. Thanks.

  • Removing the Search Helper Extension and Bing Bar

The above question has been asked a number of times already, and some replies date back 8 months or more. Sadly, whilst the
offers of help are much appreciated, they no longer seems to fix the problem, AFAICS.
My setup details, if it assists:
    Dell Inspiron N5110 laptop
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2630QM CPU @ 2,00GHz
    4.00GB RAM
    WDC [Western Digital) WD6400BPVT-75HXZT1 5400 6.5GB HDD
NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M video card
    Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 64meg onchip GPU
    Win 7 Home Premium 64bit SP1
    Mozilla Firefox v4.0.1
Having bought the above laptop, I am in the process of changing from old to new. During a mass MS update session, Firefox was
impregnated with a 'bing' search box and button [It is perfectly possible that I inadvertantly 'speed clicked' a sneaky 'install me'
button on the way]. Anyhoo, I now have said search box/button and want rid asap. The Firefox help suggests following the
advice in their item entitled 'Removing the Search Helper Extension and Bing Bar', but this shows as out of date. Furthermore, I
have no 'bing' or 'search helper extension' entries in my 'Programs & Features' applet in Control Panel, neither do I have MS
KB982217 installed to uninstall. There are no eponymous entries in Firefox's 'Tools/Addons' menu.
    Any ideas, please?

  • Navigation Panel Settings

    Hello guys,
I need to work on my Portal to have the navigation panel static. We do not want that incremental arrows that allow the users to control the width of the navigation panel. A good example of what I need is the navigation panel of SDN site (look to the left...).
Also, the my navigation panel has a white line on the left and I want to remove it. I think it is related to the design bars of the iViews on the navigation panel, but not sure how to remove it completely.
I have already tried some workarounds, such as determining the hights and widths to 0px, but no success.
    Can anyone help me, please?
    Thanks in advance
    Fernando Urzedo

    Hi Fernando
You can do it in System Administration-> Portal Display --> Theme Editor and select the theme you want to edit.

  • Link to folder in a room - missing header area and navigation panel

    Hello Community,
I have a problem, again. While creating favorites to specific folders I got a problem while using and "publishing" them.
While using the "send to..." feature the recipient gets an eMail with the link to this folder. When clicking this link he gets as the result the opened folder, displayed in a browser. Until now nothing really unexpected.
What we want is that he gets not only the opened folder. We want that he gets the whole navigation around it (navigation panel, header area) for the specific room the folder is in.
Now my question. Is it possible to create a link with this behavior?
Thanks for every hint in advance!
    Regards,
    Frank

    Hi Frank,
if you have navigated to the room / within the room to the room part you want, check the page toolbar, choose "Add to Portal Favorites", add it under some name; then in IE choose Favorites, right-click on the favorite just added, right click, properties (or just call it). The upcoming URL of the form http://portal:50000/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=navurl://1f9eaddf81792cb6f2b9f05381cce360&&NavTargetAsRoot=true should do the trick (this at least holds from SP14 on).
    Hope it helps

  • Removing navigation bar safari

When the user navigates from the main menu of my hybrid html app this navigation bar always appears on every subsequent html page and pushes the header down. Is there a way to remove the Safari back button and nav bar seen here? I have custom back/forward buttons within the app already for the user to navigate and ideally need to get it fullscreen. I would appreciate any feedback since I have looked everywhere.
My header code on this subpage is:

I have been searching as well, and I cannot find a good solution. I do most of my navigating using the navigation bar. Now, what used to take one tap takes two or requires a down swipe to access controls I had before. I would really like to get back the functionality I had before the update.

  • How to remove white status bar (or navigation panels) in photo app

Since I downloaded the new iOS7, the status bar (or navigation bars on top and bottom) in the photo app stays and is white. With the older OS version, it was black and disappeared after a couple of second.  Now the white bar stays and you do not have a full view of the picture (top and bottom is cut off when holding it lengthwise)  Any idea how to remove this?  Thanks

Not sure what you mean by "status bar". There are two navigation panels, one at the top and one at the bottom. No, you can't remove those if that is what you mean.
