Remove Notifications to a friend on Find My Friends

Hey folks
I have an interesting problem. I have a up to date Iphone5s and I am using Find My Friends.
I accidentially turned on Notify "Friend".
So now when ever I come and go from my place and work... I been sending a notifications of my comings and going.
Ok when this happened we thought it was funny but now I really like to find a way to turn it off.
So on my phone under Find My Friends, Under the Persons Name, there is Notify Me and Notify Friend.
How do I turn off all notifications?
One of the things I have tried to do is to remove them from my friend list and then re-add them.
That didn't work.....
Does anyone know how to turn notifications to this friend off?
Thanks!
-David

Hi adper,
It sounds like you have checked key items to see them, but I want to make sure we have all the bases covered.
iCloud: Troubleshooting Find My Friends
"No location available" label for friends
This can occur if:
The device being located:Your friend is currently not signed in to the Find My Friends app on the device being located.
Is turned off
Is not connected to a data network (cellular or Wi-Fi)
Has Hide My Location (Hide from Followers in version 2.1.1 or earlier) turned on in the Find My Friends app
Has Location Services turned off altogether in Settings > Privacy > Location Services or has Location Services turned off specifically for Find My Friends in Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Find Friends
Your friend is currently not signed in to the Find My Friends app on the device being located.
Take care,
Nubz

Can you find your friends or find my friends on to locate someone if you share the same ITunes account?

Any iOS device that shares the same iTunes account and has Find my Phone enabled under Settings > iCloud can be located using the Find my iPhone app or www.icloud.com.

  • I can't anymore locate one of my friends on find my friends app

Since last friday, I can't anymore locate one of my friends on find my friends app. All my other friends can be located.
I asked him if he turned the hide from followers tag on. He told me he didn't. He told me as well he didn't turn the location off.
But he just told me that when he opens the find my friend app it opens and closes immediately.
How is it possible to fix this problem?

I personally would suggest to delete and re-download the app from the app store.

  • HT204407 how to remove friend from find my friends

How do you remove a friend reuest for location on Find my Friends App

    sorry to bother everyone,
    I find the solution here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4451211?start=0&tstart=0

  • HT204407 Cannot add a friend to Find my friend..

I enter their email address and add, says it is notifying them, the screen then says invited but then the whole name disappears.
This happens on their phone when they are trying to invite me.
Could it be that we have unfriended eachother before?

You cannot unless you sign in with your Apple ID on his phone in iCloud settings. This is not recommended, as it's a good way to get your data mixed up with his. I would recommend that you both download Find my Friends (search it on the App Store), sign in with your separate Apple IDs, and send a request to him.

  • Why my location is not shared with friends on Find My Friends?

I'm not able to share my location with friends. 'Share My Location' option is disabled and I couldn't enable it. Sometimes it is getting enabled automatically and after sometime it is disabled. However my location is never shared with friends. My friends are receiving a messages 'Location is not available'. Location sharing is enabled in settings>privacy>location services>find my friends and also in iCloud>Advanced>Share My Location>. It also displays the name of the friends currently my location is being shared. But my friends aren't able to see my location. What do I do?

You probably using a Wi-Fi iPad without GPS.

  • Find my friends app not working

I am unable to add or receive followers. It has been working fine for ages then one of my contacts said they couldn't see me anymore. They have sentence numerous requests but it hasn't come through to me (nor has it the other way round) and now another contact can't see me. Anyone else have this issue and resolved it?

    Hey kw05,
Thanks for the question. The following resource may provide a solution:
    iCloud: Troubleshooting Find My Friends

    Issues with location requests
You are not receiving requests from others to follow your location
If you're certain someone has sent you a location request using Find My Friends, and you do not receive the notification:
    - Make sure that you're signed in to the Find My Friends iOS app with the Apple ID your friend is trying to follow. If that was not the case, check the inbox of the email address your friend used, and see if there is any location request email from your friend. If so, tap View Request in that message to accept or decline their request in Find My Friends.
    - Make sure that the option to Allow Friend Requests is turned on:
              - Find My Friends 3.0 or later:
              - On an iPhone or iPod touch, tap Me, then check Allow Friend Requests under Invitations
              - On an iPad, tap the List button, tap Me, tap Info, then check Allow Friend Requests.
              - Find My Friends 2.1.1 or earlier: Tap the Me tab, tap Account, then check Allow Friend Requests under Notifications.
    - Make sure that you're within the limits to accept follow requests. If you have reached a limit, you may not be able to accept more friends until you remove one.
Your requests to follow others are not received
    - Make sure that you're sending your request to the Apple ID your friend is using to sign in to the Find My Friends iOS app.
    - Make sure that you're within the limits to send follow requests to others. If you have reached a limit, you may not be able to send a location request to more friends until you remove one.
Note: If you accept a request from a friend that you’re not following, a follow request is sent to your friend automatically (Find My Friends 3.0 or later).
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • IPad find my friends trouble

I Have a Apple ID And iCloud email address and have added several alias email´s to my icloud account.
these alias are also added to my iPad HD Mini APP ( Find my friends ) under me for invitations > send as.
Problem is: I Deleted my several alias email addresses from my iCloud account ( iCloud.com ) deleted from iCloud no problem.
But the alias email´s still exist in the Find my friends APP for my iPad under me > invitations > send as
when these alias email´s we´re deleted from iCloud, was deleted from all apps that are connected except Find my friends.
example: iMessage no longer shows these alias email addresses. the alias we´re removed automatically as they should have.
find my friends is the only APP That did not remove the alias email´s from iCloud.
    any sugesstions ?

Only temporary solution I Have found is:
    1) Delete all the alias email´s you want removed from iCloud.com account
    2) Go to your apple Id account ( Web)
    3) ad all the email address´s or alias email´s you want removed
    4) wait 30 minutes or so
    5) now delete the alias email´s you want removed.
make sure Find my Friends is installed before you do the above
check back later after 30 minutes or more in your find my friends app to see if they are gone.
    try logging out also.
this worked for me but is only temporary on the client side as if you decide to later delete
the find my friends APP on your iPhone 4+ or iPad 2 + and later install the APP Again,
all the alias email´s will have returned to your find my friends APP Under send as
have tried the new Find my friends app and nothing has changed. so this solution is only
    temporary.

I can't see my friend on 'Find My Friends' app but he can see me... What's the problem?

I don't play any Facbook games, but I'm assuming that they are played using your browser (Safari, Firefox, etc.).

  • Find My Friends - Apple ID issue... Help

    Hi,
I've been using Find My Friends on my @me.com account. But since I've changed all my devices from @me.com accounts to @icloud.com accounts it doesn't work.
It says at the bottom of the Find My Friends app,
    Signed in as ******@icloud.com
    but the
    "Send As" field say ********@me.com
When I click on the Send As it says 'Account' *********@icloud.com
I can't add any friends to Find My Friends it says 'Unavailable due to a sever error' nor can I add anyone who sends a request.
I think the problem is the ********@me.com under account section, it needs to be ********@icloud.com but I can't change it.
I've tried uninstalling it and re-installing it but with no joy.
Anyone else come across this issue?

you have to edit your appleID to reflect an actual email address.

  • Find my friends server error

    Hello,
I have a Iphone 5 32gb with IOS 8 that is why i am here. Also i have a Ipad 2 32gb, iMac 21 last 2012 and a Macbook pro 13 mid 2013, so i use iCloud and all the service a lot.
I have to apple id, i created the first one in 2009, and later i buy some services of me.com, so i create a me.com account too.
I upgrded to IOS 8 yesterday, all is right, but when i was to configure find my friend, i saw that you only can login with the iCloud account and no other account like before. I try to migrate from the other to the iCloud account, but say that i did't have any friend in the other account (that is not true, i had my brother). So i was to add my brother to the iCloud account and it is imposible and also if my brother want to add me i can't accept the request. The app send me a menage that say " Find my friends alert, Find my friends not available due to a server error" I try to unistal the app and reinstall it, and the error persists. But here is the rare thing, when i request by imenssage that I want to see his position it is all right, but when he request to me and i accept, this don't work.
Can any help me to understand what is happening?
and when can we merge two apple id account? this would solve a lot of problem!!!
    Than for all!!!

I have a solution for the problem. Yes it is because we have our main email without verification. I went to apple support, i clicked in iCloud, then go to contact with technical support. There you go to Introduction,  then go to account and configuration, then go to iCloud account solution problems and contact by phone to apple care. there you say your problem with the main email verification. They ask you to change the email, they send you a change pass email, you change he it and you got the email verification. And now you can use find my friend with no problems. PROBLEM SOLVE!

  • I keep getting the "Cannot Connect To Find My Friends" alert

I keep getting the "Cannot Connect To Find My Friends" alert when trying to accept friends on Find My Friend. I have verified my Apple ID and reset my password. Still no luck. any suggestions...?

What finally worked for me was to go to "Me" in Find My Friends, then chose "Account." I found that the wrong email for me was there somehow. I corrected it, saved it, and now FMF allows me to accept followers and request new friends. Hope this works for you too.
