Remove old iPhone from Device List in Colorsync Utility?

Does anyone know how to remove an old iPhone (that I no longer have access to) from the Device List in Colorsync Utility?  I've done a spotlight search for the text and have come up empty handed.  It must be hiding in a plist somewhere...but where?

It seems that the device list is stored in a hidden preference file. You can delete the file, or you can edit it with a free application called "PrefSetter." Deleting it would be easier, but you'll have to recreate some of your settings in System Preferences.
Back up all data if you haven’t already done so. Before proceeding, you must be sure you can restore your system to the state it’s in now.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
rm Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist

  • Remove old iPhone from iCloud

So I logged into iCloud from Safari and saw that my old iPhone 5 was still listed as a device. I erased and removed this as far as I can tell. Any idea how to remove this device permanently from iCloud? I can't seem to find an option in iCloud to do this anymore.
For the record, I removed the iPhone from iTunes authorized devices and disabled Find My Phone before erasing it.

If you still have the old phone, set it back up as a new device, sign into your iCloud account, then sign back out.  That should remove it.  (I know, erasing it should have done that already, but apparently it doesn't.)

  • Removing old sources from source list

Between all the members of the family we've synched up quite a few machines with our Apple TV. But now many of them are gone, yet they are still listed as grayed-out "sources" in the AppleTV menu. Any ideas on how to remove them from the list?

Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.
If you select the greyed out library there is an option to disconnect from itunes library, I've never actually tried this and am not certain what it does but I'm sure it's worth a go, otherwise it may be a restore is what is needed.

  • Remove old iPhone from iCloud "devices"

I traded in my iPhone 5 for a 6plus. Erased the old phone before bringing to Apple. It's still listed on my iCloud account (iCloud.com/settings/my devices. There's no delete button or any way to remove from there. Any ideas? (It also shows my old MacBook, which I still have access to.)

Searching the net I found no reliable solution to this.
Login into to your actual Itunes program on your PC.
    Go to your account
Then you select "Manage Devices" under the second section in "Itunes in the cloud"
You can then remove the device from the account.

  • Removing old scanners from Import list

I used to have a Canon LiDE90 Scanner and a Kodak All In One Printer/Scanner.  I got rid of them awhile ago.  When I go to File>Import I still see them showing up as a choice to use to import scans.
How can I get rid of them off of my Import list?
Trivial I know, but I am that kind of guy.

Uninstall the drivers if you haven't done so (most makers have a utility for this on their downloads page), then check plug-ins>import/export in the PSE application folder and remove anything in there.
EDIT for the all-in-one, you may also need to remove it from system prefs>print and fax.

  • How can I remove an iPhone from Devices in iTunes

My wifes iPhone4 used to be synched with my Macbook under a separate user login.
She now has her own Macbook and has synched with that and it all works fine.
However, her iphone still shows up in my Devices on itunes on my macbook (finding over WIFI).
Is it possible to stop this happening?

    Hello Roger,
Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with your wife's iPhone appearing under Devices in iTunes.  It sounds like you will need to disable Wi-Fi syncing in iTunes.
You can disable Wi-Fi syncing by unchecking the "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi" box in the Summary tab and clicking Apply in iTunes:

  • How do I remove my old iPhone from "Find My iPhone"?

How do I remove my old iPhone from the device list?

From the Help files in the app . . .
    Remove Device
If you’re no longer using an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch that was set up to use Find My iPhone, you can remove it from Find My iPhone when the device is offline (turned off or not connected to a data network, such as EDGE, 3G, or Wi-Fi). To remove the device, you need to sign in to me.com on a computer.
To remove your device from Find My iPhone:
On a computer, sign in to MobileMe Find My iPhone at me.com/find using your Apple ID email address and password.
If you’re a paid subscriber, your Apple ID is your MobileMe email address (@me.com or @mac.com) and password.
If you set up Find My iPhone on more than one device, click the device you want to remove in the Devices list on the left.
Click the blue arrow to the right of your device’s name (or, if the device hasn’t been located recently, the red clock ).
In the device window, click Remove (to the right of the device name).
The Remove link appears after Find My iPhone has tried and failed to connect to your device. This may take a few minutes.
When asked to confirm if you want to remove the device, click Remove.
If your device goes online again later and is still set up with your MobileMe account information, the device automatically reappears in Find My iPhone. If you still have access to the device, you can prevent it from reappearing in Find My iPhone by removing your MobileMe account information from the device. Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > [YourMobileMeAccount], and then tap Delete Account.

I accidentally removed my iPhone from manage devices in my iTunes account.  How do I get my iPhone 5s back on as a device to use my account?

    Hi jakefrombishop,
If you changed that old ID to your current ID using Manage your Apple ID, try the following to see if it will accept your current password:
    1.     Go to Manage your Apple ID and sign on with your current Apple ID and password. EDIT the ID and change it to the old email address. This is temporary. Do NOT verify it, do NOT change the password: Apple - My Apple ID
    2.     Now on the iPhone, where it is asking for your password to turn off Find My iPhone, type in your current password
    3.     Go back to Manage your Apple ID and sign on with the old email address and your current password. EDIT the Apple ID back to your current email address. You may need to verify it again.
    Fingers crossed!

  • How to remove old signed in devices from iCloud.

How does one remove old signed apple devices from iCloud?  I erased devices, deleted backups, but they still show up.

    Hello Kalyan
I raised an OSS note for this and below is the reply from SAP. Thanks for your support.
    Thank you for your query.
To delete the old class their are 2 options available to you .
    1 )
To delete the old class you have to remove the assignments of where
it is used . Please access the old class in CL03 and then the menu
path "Environment - Where used list"
Once all assignments are removed you should be able to delete the class
    2)
You could use a change number created in transaction CC01 to delete
the class from the classification view.
Please review note 166530 which explains about the deletion of
    classification data.
Please refer to the online documentation at help.sap.com and the
Classification section where it states :
Once you have used engineering change management to process
characteristics, characteristics of a class, or classifications, you
must use engineering change management for all further changes.
I hope the information is of help , please test carefully on a Non

  • Contact old iPhone user to get them to remove the iPhone from their account.

I am very frustrated. This isn't a question for say, but venting about my anger towards Apple. I bought by phone from a 3rd party who bought the same phone from another person on eBay. The iPhone was water damaged. I have a background in Radio Repair, so I fix phones on the side. Not really for profit, but as a hobby. I am now stuck with a working phone that has the stupid iCloud activation notice. I don't understand why apple can't either give you the e-mail of the person, or since that might be considered  a security breach for some reason, email the previous user for us requesting they remove the unused phone from their account. Or is it apple trying to make more money, forcing me to buy a new iPhone.
    I have two iPhone 4 that I use, and I wanted an iPhone 5. Well now I have a iPhone 5 that's a paperweight.
btw. the previous owner never used facetime, so that trick is out !!!!
It would be cool if an option on the activation help could automaticly have the option to contact the previous owner on our behalf, and give them the instructions to remove the phone from their account. Or given them a chance to respond back if the phone was lost or stolen.

You are raising a number of issues, all of which limit Apple due to abiding by privacy and security.  We are all fellow users and not Apple employees so cannot speak for Apple, but describe what we understand to be the conditions.
Release of personal information, inclucing email, simply cannot ever happen for privacy concerns.  Plus uncertainty over just who the current owner of a device might be and how that device has been setup.  You could end up going in bigger circles as you indicate more than one previous owner of the iPhone.
The Activation Lock is an anti-theft protection that Apple has been praised by law enforcement for implementing.  While it is an inconvenience for reselling some devices when previous owners do not properly cleanse their devices, there have been numerous cases brought up on here that are pretty conclusively dealing with stolen iOS devices.
All that can be done is somehow contact the previous owner and have that person remove the iPhone from his/her iCloud account so you can use it, as you have acknowledged.  Apple cannot get involved for legal reasons.
