Remove Page Border (I think...)

I am a new user of Indesign, so this is probably a very basic question.
I am creating training materials for a presentation from the "Manual.indt" template.   The cover page has a thick red strip across the top of the title page's margin.   What is this, and how do I remove it or edit it?   I cannot select it as an object. I have attached the page below.
Thanks in advance!!

Yes, it was - thanks!   I thought I was in the master, but I wasn't.   When I got into the master page, it was there.

  • IWord Keynote HELP - can't remove page border line

    I know this sounds simple, but I've just converted over to a Mac from a PC, so bear with me...
    In Keynote, I cannot figure out how to remove the border that appears around the document when I print. The border does NOT show up when I'm in the document, but it appears in print preview and when I print out the document. How do I remove this border from the document?? THANKS

    Thanks for the response. As far as renaming ~/.mozilla, it kept regenerating itself each time I opened Swiftweasel, so I moved ~/.sw35 to ~/.sw000 and then opened it and there was no white line. So I went through one by one installing my add-ons again and, even though I had disabled it and restarted earlier, it turns out that if I don't install "NumExt" it wont have the white line. That's so weird that it didn't do it earlier when I disabled it. Sad, though, since I really liked that extensions. Maybe I'll see if I can edit the file somehow.

  • Remove little green page border

    Hi All,
    Someone at work here inadvertantly placed a pretty skinny green border around every page.  This is in normal view mode.
    Tryed changing the forms color field in preferences.
    Went through the provided Acrobat search and FAQ section, no luck.
    There are no layers attched to this document.
    Cropping doesn't remove the border.
    Can someone tell me how to remove the skinny green page border when viewing?
    Thanks,

    The green box is probably the trim box being displayed due to your preference settings: Edit > Preferences > Page Display > Show art, trim, & bleed boxes

  • How can I print a pdf in the actual size with a page border?

    How can I print a pdf in the actual size with a page border? (2 pages per sheet preferred)
    I usually print pdfs of books at a copy shop and they turn out fine.
    The problem comes when I try to print the same books at home.
    I use Adobe Acrobat X with the same settings: "multiple pages per sheet" (2x1) and page border. But the pages are slightly shrunken when printed. I think this is because my printer can't print as closely to the margins. Still, two pages should be able to fit on one sheet in actual size. Are there any layout settings that I can play with to find a better fit, besides portrait and landscape?
    If I select page scaling "none," I'm able to print the pdf in actual size, one page per sheet. But there's no option to add a page border.

    I have a test with some questions (multiple choice, FIB, matching, etc). I have just one button to submit all the answers, and after submiting the student can see his score and review the test to know where he failed. He can't answer again. However, he can change the answer multiple times before submiting.
    "if i turn on success/failure captions the student will see them while answering" - before submitting
    "if i turn them off he wont know what's the right answer" - after submitting
    My results page is the default. I didn't use any variable. When i go to the results page after reviewing the test all the entry boxes are "wrong".

  • Can't remove portlet border.

    Hi Gurus,
    i'm facing some unexpected behavior with a portlet:
    The portlet appears in the page with a gray border.
    BUT the "show portlet border" checkbox isn't checked in area edit page.
    So, what is happening?
    And how can i remove the border.
    I've already try some stupid things as:
    1)check "show portlet border"
    2)apply changes
    3)Ok
    4)edit area
    5)uncheck "show portlet border"
    6)apply changes
    7)Ok
    but nothing
    Thanks,
    Felippe.

    The portlet calls a jsp page.
    It has been created like all the other, via XML.
    It displays the jsp content correctly but the border around the portlet.
    When i toggle the checkbox "Show portlet border" it makes no difference at all but the "Show portlet header" does.
    Any ideas??
    I'm trying to seek some erros in jsp code.
    thanks,
    Felippe.

  • Can I create a page border using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9?

    I'm making a certificate of completion and would like to create a page border.  Is there any way to do this is Adobe Acrobat Pro 9?

    If what you want to do is scale a page down to a smaller size, Acrobat doesn't do that, not directly anyway. I think there are plugins for Acrobat that can do this.
    if you're desperate and/or don't want to go to that expense, there is a hack available in Acrobat that can get you there. If you've added other interactive elements (links, bookmarks, etc.), you'd have to recreate them. Post again, preferably in a new topic (since it doesn't apply to this one), for more info.

  • Remove Black Border Around Embedded Flash Video

    Hi-
    I have searched on the Web without luck, so again I have to
    turn tot he forum for help. I believe this should be simple and
    straightforward, but doesn't appear so. I have a simple little
    Flash video embedded in a plain old web page created with DW8. When
    the page is displayed in my web browser it has a thin black border
    around the video. I would like to remove this border (such as one
    might with image border=0). I have tried several "fixes" ranging
    from setting the BODY margin height to 0 to altering my external
    style sheet. None of these worked. I even created a fresh web page
    with no external style sheet at all and the border is still there.
    How on earth do I get rid of that ugly thing? Any help is greatly
    appreciated.

  • How do I remove this border?

    I have been struggling this evening with attempts to modify
    the Application style selector in my external style sheet in order
    to remove the border areas highlighted in red:
    Image of Unwanted
    Borders
    My Application CSS selector looks like:
    Application {
    paddingLeft: 0;
    paddingRight: 0;
    paddingTop: 0;
    paddingBottom: 0;
    fontSize: 9;
    fontWeight: normal;
    backgroundColor: #6a7992;
    backgroundImage: '';
    top: 0px;
    right: 0px;
    left: 0px;
    bottom: 0px;
    And the HBox that forms my outermost container is:
    <mx:HBox width="100%" height="100%" paddingLeft="0"
    paddingRight="0" paddingBottom="0" paddingTop="0">
    What is it I need to do in order to allow my outermost
    <mx:HBox> to occupy the entire area of the
    <object/embed> tag of the hosting HTML page?
    Thanks,
    jason

    Figured it out: When using an <mx:Panel> component,
    that border area cannot be eliminated:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application
    xmlns:mx="
    http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
    historyManagementEnabled="false"
    pageTitle="Altos Xplorer"
    layout="absolute"
    verticalScrollPolicy="auto"
    horizontalScrollPolicy="auto"
    paddingTop="0"
    paddingBottom="0"
    paddingRight="0"
    paddingLeft="0"
    width="100%"
    height="100%">
    <mx:Panel width="100%" height="100%" paddingLeft="0"
    paddingRight="0" paddingBottom="0" paddingTop="0">
    <mx:VBox id="chartOptions" width="100%" height="100%">
    <mx:Text text="Test"/>
    </mx:VBox>
    </mx:Panel>
    </mx:Application>
    But if the Panel is replaced/removed, you get no border area:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application
    xmlns:mx="
    http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
    historyManagementEnabled="false"
    pageTitle="Altos Xplorer"
    layout="absolute"
    verticalScrollPolicy="auto"
    horizontalScrollPolicy="auto"
    paddingTop="0"
    paddingBottom="0"
    paddingRight="0"
    paddingLeft="0"
    width="100%"
    height="100%">
    <mx:HBox width="100%" height="100%" paddingLeft="0"
    paddingRight="0" paddingBottom="0" paddingTop="0">
    <mx:VBox id="chartOptions" width="100%" height="100%">
    <mx:Text text="Test"/>
    </mx:VBox>
    </mx:HBox>
    </mx:Application>

  • How can i remove the border of TextField

    Hi,first i set the border of textfield in my program now i want to remove this border and want to set the default border.how can i do that.
    thanks

    try this,
    UIManager.put("TextField.border", new EmptyBorder());
    or maybe set the border part to null. I think it works.
    by the way put this line right at the start of your program so that all text fields will be shown without borders.

  • Removing the Border

    Hey
    I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the border on
    this image. It is a random picture image generator thing. Take a
    look at the page.
    http://www.fly-va.com/vaj/logomenu.htm
    Here is the javascript used.
    <script
    language="JavaScript1.2">mmLoadMenus();</script>
    <a href="Index1.shtml"><SCRIPT
    LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    var num_images = 4
    var images = new Array(num_images)
    images[0] = "logo2.jpg"
    images[1] = "logo4.jpg"
    images[2] = "logotail.jpg"
    images[3] = "logotakeoff.jpg"
    var n = Math.floor(Math.random() * num_images)
    document.write( "<img src=\"" +images[n]+ "\">" )
    </SCRIPT>

    Start with valid HTML - the page has no doctype, not
    <html>, and no <head>
    tags.
    Then try adding this CSS to the page -
    a img { border:none; }

  • Remove page in I-photo

    I'm making a book in I-photo.  There are some pages I want to delete, however the "Remove Page" selection is grayed out.  Help!

    Maybe my explanation was not clear...  (sorry about the typo)
    It does not matter what external editor is now selected.  I think the default choice is actually to have no external editor and do editing using iPhoto.
    Go to iPhoto preferences, on the Advanced tab.  Find the setting that says Edit Photos.  Change that settting so that it says In Pixelmator...
    NOTE:  To change that setting, you need to select the choice that says In Preview... (if it is currently set to use Preview).  That opens a dialog box where you can find and select Pixelmator instead.
    (My version of iPhoto is 9.3.2.)

  • How can I make a decorative page border in Pages?

    How can I make a decorative page border in Pages?

    Hi Janet,
    I suppose that you are asking how to include a decorative border of your design into a pages document. How you design that border is rather out of the range of these discussions. So, let's say that you have a graphic that approximates a picture frame and has the required dimensions to frame your content.
    If you want to have the graphic appear on every page, Drag or Insert > Choose, to incorporate your design in to the document. The position it as you want it, and then Arrange > Send to Background and Format > Advanced > Move Object to Section Master.
    If there is more than one section in your document, there may be more considerations, but if you do this at the outset in the creation of your document, the design of the first section will flow to subsequent sections.
    Regards,

  • How can I completely remove pages from a Pages document?

    I had a 44 page Pages document, 95MB in size (it had a lot of TIFFs in it). I deleted all but 9 pages, removing 15 of the 18 TIFFs, but found the document was still 94.7MB. Huh? I cracked open the document using Pacifist, and found a folder titled ".iWTrash" that is 78.4MB in size, containing 4 blank-icon documents with numbers (00000001, etc) for names. This is apparently the material from all the deleted pages. Why is it being kept? Is there any way I can get rid of it, reduce the  file to the ~16MB it ought to be?
    TIA,
    Andrew Main

    What action did you take to "delete" the 35 pages and 15 TIFFs?''
    I selected them in the thumbnail sidebar and pressed the Delete key. The second time I did it I noticed there is a "Delete Page..." command in the Edit menu, so I used that. Which is what the Pages Manual says to do. In both cases, a dialog appeared asking if I was sure I wanted to delete page XX, and assuring me that "The section containing this page will be deleted." I don't have any sections in the document (it's all one), but I clicked the Delete button and the pages disappeared—but as I said, the document remained the same size, and when I pried it open with Pacifist I saw there was 78+MB of mystery data in it, in a folder titled ".iWTrash". The leading dot makes it invisible I guess, but I don't see why since it's hidden inside the document anyway.
    As I recall, Pages documents were originally .zip files or something easily opened, but I thought I'd read that had changed. The contextual menu's "Open With" gives three possibilities: Archive Utility (which makes the 94.7MB Pages file into a 2.2MB .cpgz file, which when double-clicked recreates the 94.7MB original—now that's compression!); Pacifist (which opens the file so I can see what's in it); and The Unarchiver (which converts the Pages file into a folder of its contents, including the ".iWTrash" folder which is invisible in the Finder because of its leading dot.
    Is this a WP document or a PL document?
    It's a PL document.
    I suspect you had floating images in a Word Processing document and deleted the text. The images are still there on the removed pages, if you do a series of page breaks they should reappear on the additional pages where you can delete them directly.
    Well, no, it's a Page Layout document, and I deleted the pages, not the items on them (half had text, half had TIFF graphics). I tried adding blank pages back into the document, but they're blank; the text and graphics don't appear on them.
    But all that data is still in the file, now in "bulk" form, doing nobody any good.
    Okay, so I took the 9-page (94MB) document, with the 78MB ".iWTrash" folder in it, and deleted four more pages. But this time I first deleted the material on the pages, then deleted the (now blank) pages. Suddenly the document is a mere 6.6MB! I opened it up, and it has only the material that's visible in the document, no ".iWTrash" folder. The other 78MB has disappeared also. Seems kind of tedious if you have to first delete the material on the pages before deleting the pages; but maybe if you delete all the pages (with the material still on them) but one, then delete the material on the last page and then delete that page, it'll get rid of the whole mess? Complicated, and of course none of this is explained in the manual. Nor can I see any logical reason for it.
    Another experiment: I took the 9-page (94MB) document, with the 78MB ".iWTrash" folder in it, and deleted four more pages, by simply selecting them and deleting them (without deleting the material on them first). Now the file is 12.5MB, and Pacifist reveals it has an .iWTrash folder of 5.5MB, i.e. approximately the material that was deleted this time, but it's lost the 78MB that was deleted the last time.
    Well, this is all lots of fun, but it still makes no sense. If it's some kind of "dummy's backup", I can't see any way to make any use of it. Otherwise it just takes up space to no use.
    The other possibility is images on captured master pages.
    Do PL documents have master pages? On which you can place elements that will appear on all pages (such as, say, crop marks)? Seems to me my so-far brief perusal of the Pages Manual indicates not. Which doesn't make sense.
    Thanks, everyone, for your responses.
