Remove PDK 6.2

Hi everyone,
I am new to all SAP Netweaver thing, so my questions might have some "obvious" answers, but I just dont seem to find them.
I installed EP6 SP6. Than following one of the e-learning courses provided by SAP I tried to install PDK (but i think I choose the wrong version 6.2, instead of 6.6). Now I want to uninstall 6.2, and install 6.6, but I dont really know where to start... After I read some posts on this forum, I thought that the right way to do it would be Archive Remover, but there i see many packages com.sap.portal.pdk*. I am not sure if is right to remove these all without damage something in the portal.
Any help or further hints would be highly apreciated.

I also thought of this, but I saw some postings saying that the best practice would be to remove the previous version without installing the new one. Another issue would be: I tried to run TemplateJSPDynPage...I downloaded the par file from the portal, I imported in into eclipse but than I get 25 errors. I think this was from the missing libraries, so I downloaded the libraries from the portal and I imported in eclipse html.jar but: Than I still have 11 errors which I think are because of the missing htmlbridge.jar but I cannot find this jar. Hi,
How many ways we have to deploy .par file. As per my knowledge folloing are the ways
1. Deploying from NWDS
2. Portal -> Java Developer -> Portal Deployment
Is there any other way to deploy the par file like we can deploy .ear files from SDM.
We would like to remove PDK. So, the Java Developer role will be deleted.
Please let me know if we have any other ways to deploy

JDeveloper 10.1.3.2 pdk-struts taglib doesn't work

Hi all,
I just installed new jDev version (10.1.3.2) and I migrated all projects and setting from 10.1.3.1, but I still got a little/big problem with PDK-Struts taglib.
In the previous jDev version portlet add-in wasn't include and to use pdk-struts integrate in the IDE I managed it as a JSP TagLib and everythings works fine.
In new version the taglib in native and ready (it doesn't required to be registered!) to use but when I'm building the project I found and exception
Error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/struts/taglib/html/FormTag
mind!!!
- the same project in version 10.1.3.1 has no problem to build
- I checked and seleted all the libraries required
Anyone knows why the new jDev version doesn't work??

Yea, I had those "is not a registered namespace in TLD" errors too, but regarding Struts HTML... I had to go to the Project properties and add the library.. (It went missing during conversion)
Its frustrating and I know how you feel. Try this, try that and still doesnt work. My advice is to remove taglibs. Close Jdev. Open Jdev add them again. It have to work. Also it might help to delete class directories. Also be aware that some libraries are kept in "\WEB-INF\lib" and during conversion they remained (those libraries were from old Jdev you have to replace them with new version)
So, all in all keep tryng, it have to work :)

PDK pl/sql add_item function and documents table

When we use the add_item function to add an item and upload its content, does the add_item function uploads document content to the document table in the repository?(like the upload_blob() function)
If yes, can I remove the uploaded document from the filesystem after having uploaded it in the documents table?
The PDK API says that there is no supported view for querying the document table. Is there any other way to query the documents in the document table? Or any additional information about how the documents are stored in the document table or how the documents table works?

EP6 SP9 PDK issue

Hi,
Installed EP6 SP9 and imported the PDK through SDM. Some links under Java Development->User Interface Development are not showing. It says 404 not found The requested resource does not exist.
The same is the case with some links under Java Development->Portal Development.
Can anyone help me out with this probelm. Do I need to apply some PDK patch?

instead of installing PDK SP9 (60.9.0), install PDK SP6 (60.6.0) and also the PDK 6.0 SP9 Patch (pdk60patch.zip).

Disabled standard role com.sap.pct.pdk.JavaDeveloper

Hi - I've logged an OSS but if anyone can help me quicker it ould be most appreciated;
the role com.sap.pct.pdk.JavaDeveloper can be found in the portal
content location
pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.pct.pdk/Roles/com.sap.pct.pdk.JavaDeveloper
when i double click on that role it shows only one Workset called
Examples and within it a workset called OBN Examples
I searched the SDN and found this post:

sorry, probably haven't explained it well enough.
it used to have lots of entry points, yes. but none of them were visible in the portal catalogue, except one "Examples"
the linked post describes exactly the same problems. when i followed the recommended steps "remove the role from the Administrator account" in that post, the role stopped working, apart from the "Examples" workset. Apparently we are not using NWDI and apparently this has some relevance, in that we can't create the system alias for the webDynpro as the post also recommends.
to recap - the standard role, since unassigning it from the administrator account, now does not function for any user. only the workset "Examples" is visible in the role. this was the case before. trying to view the other objects in the role is the reason I was working on it., since we have a requirement to add the Portal Logviewer in to the content developer role, without giving them the whole of the PDK/PRT maintenance applications. it now transpires that they were not displaying and were hidden becasue they are not Iviews, but are components accessed directly.
Does it need to be rebuilt? if so , how?

Need help in post-installation steps of the PDK

I have installed Java PDK 6.9 instead of 6.2.
At the post-installation steps I need to:
The example iViews in the Portal Development Kit connect to a SAP System with the system alias PDK_R3_BACKEND.
To run these examples you must define a system object for a test SAP System in your system landscape and assign the following aliases:
1. PDK_R3_BACKEND Reference to a R/3 system of your custom landscape.
2. PDKDummySystem Reference to provided system OBN-3. PDKDummySystem.
WebDynpro Reference to provided system WebDynpro.
My question is: When I create this System, which type template should it be and which configuration besides the above aliases should it have?

Yes I did, in my case I've installed PDK SP 9 over SP2 which is prohibited. If this is your case as well do the following:
1) From the Undeployment tab of the SDM select the com.sap.pct.pdk..
components.
2) Using the Archive remover tool which can be accessed from
System Administration > Support > Portal Runtime > Administration
Console > Archive Remover --> Remove the portal applications with prefixcom.sap.pct.pdk...
3) Navigate to Content Administration > Portal content > Content
Provided by SAP > Platform Add-Ons > Developer Content
and remove all the contents below this folder.
4) Restart the server
After this you can deploy the SP9 business package using the SDM.

PDK Struts tags

When trying to use the PDK Struts tags in a portlet, I receive the following error message when the portlet has been deployed to a 10g portal:
[ServletException in:/WEB-INF/jsp/tiles/portal/index.jsp] action'
Even with debug mode enabled on the server, that's the only detail I get. My config is as follows:

- The portlet works without the tag included.
- It works using the standard Struts html:link tag, but of course generates the resulting page in it's own screen, outside of the portal container
- The TLD is indeed in the location listed in the URI
- The following two JARs are included in the LIB directory: pdkjava.jar, pdkstruts.jar
- I removed all attributes from the tag and received a more detailed message (Cannot create rewrite URL: java.net.MalformedURLException: You must specify exactly one of "forward", "href", or "page"') so it seems like everything that needs to be in place is indeed in place -- it seems like I'm just misusing the tag.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The problem was an old copy of the struts.jar file, which was missing the calculateUrl() method called by the Oracle tag. With a new struts.jar file, all was good.

PDK 6.0 Software Component and SCA File Not Found

We are caught in a scenario where we don't find the PDK 6.0 Software Component in the SLD and we are not sure how to get this in the SLD. In the current SLD(SP16) it shows PDK 5.0 Software Component. Also kidnly let us know how to get the SCA file in order to be able to Check-In in the CMS against the PDK 6.0 Software Component.

How to undeploy PDK SP14

Hell!!
I am working on EP 6.0 SP9 and I was supposed to install PDK SP9. But i deployed PDK sp14 throug SDM GUI.
I would like to undeploy the pdk 14 but in the SDM Gui when i click Undeployment tab.... there are number of items in the list, I am unable to determine which files belong to PDK SP14. Could you please let me know how to accomplish this.
Also could you also send me the download link for PDK SP9.

Hi,
You must follow the following sequence.
1. Go to Java Development(which is viewed by users with Java developer role) - Portal Tools - Portal Mass remover. Select all entries with com.sap.pct.pdk and only such entries.Then copy and paste in required space.Click Remove.
2. Now in Content Administration->Content Provided by SAP->Platform ad ons->Developer Content delete the folder Developer Content, some system object may not be deleted. So in that case you would have to go to System Administration->System Configuration->System Landscape.Select the corresponding systems and delete them. Then you would be able to delete the rest of the Portal Content.
This is the right way to delete it and I was myself sucessfully able to undeploy the content with this method.

PDK Portlet not calling Struts Action?

The problem I have is the PDK struts-portlet jsp page is not invoking my action class after a login page is submitted. The same page seems to get refreshed. No error is registered. However, the same application instance invoked outside of the portal is working fine! Any ideas? Thanks.

I don't know how to get the index.faces thing to work but what i did do:
1. create a new jsp in the Page flow Editor
2. renamed the "default" forward to "default1"
3. double clicked on my new jsp and then right clicked to "link existing node". I selected the "begin" action
4. i opened up the new jsp and removed the html, head and body tags. My new jsp only has in it:

Purpose
The following procedure describes how to install the Business Package Netweaver Developer Cockpit (PDK) in a portal and how to configure the portal so that the example iViews work correctly.
Prerequisites
You have installed a standard SAP Enterprise Portal either locally on your personal PC or on a test server. Optionally you have installed SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.
You have uninstalled older PDK versions completely with the Archive Remover tool and Portal Content Studio.
If you use MaxDB as Database, you have to deploy MaxDB JDBC Driver manually and register it at the portal. For more information see SAP Note 773401
Installation
Import the Business Package for the Portal Development Kit into your portal installation.
The business package is delivered in SCA format and you have to use the Software Deployment Manager (SDM) to install it. For more information, see SAP Note 731386
Import the attached ICE transport package via the Content Management->Content Exchange->Package upload. Import the the file DeveloperContent.zip As a result you see the folder DeveloperContent under the KM repository documents.
Post- Installation Steps
Configure the Portal for the Netweaver Developer Cockpit
The connector example iViews in the Portal Development Kit connect to SAP Backend System with the system alias PDK_R3_BACKEND.
To run these examples you must define a system object for a test SAP Backend System in your system landscape and assign the following aliases: PDK_R3_BACKEND
The JDBC example iViews use a JDBC database with the alias: LocalMaxDB
To run these examples you must configure the system object LocalMaxDB or define a new one and add in your system landscape and assign the following aliases: LocalMaxDB.
The Dummy Object Based Navigation Examples (without real Backend connection) require that you the System Alias PDKDummySystem to the System PDKDummySystem
According to your authentication policy you also have to maintain Usermapping and afterwards you have to configure Distributed Query Engine (DQE) for the systems. See SAP help portal and tutorial forfurther information.
The System Landscape Directory SLD has to be maintained for the WebDynpro Examples which require a backend connection. See Web Dynpro Tutorials for details.
For more information on how to create system objects and assigning aliases, see Enterprise Portal Administration Guide 6.0->Portal Platform->System Administration->System Landscape->System Landscape Editor.
To ensure that you have the permission to run all the applications in the business package, you must be assigned to the following portal roles:

Authentication of WebDynpro Content Administrator and SLD
WebDynpro Content Administrator and System Landscape Directory need a SAP WebAS Java Server Administrator authentication. Usually the portal administrator is not assigned to the Java Server role Administrator so username and password with the correct permissions for these iViews have to be provided.
Create user in SAP Backend System
The example iViews connect to the SAP System using the username you are currently logged on to the portal. You must create a user in the SAP System with the same user ID as your portal user or define any user mapped to the portal user via usermapping.
Portal users accessing an SAP System via remote function call (RFC) must have a user or be mapped to a user in the SAP System with the following authorizations.
Authorization object S_RFC with the following field values:

Latest PDK corrupt

On page http://portalstudio.oracle.com/servlet/page?_pageid=350&_dad=ops&_schema=OPSTUDIO&_mode=3, I click the link to download latest PDK. After answering the questions, I get a file PDK.ZIP downloaded. Trying to unzip gives:

I have tried several times over the last couple of days. Download always completes correctly, but error remains. Am I really the ONLY user trying to download the PDK?

Let's try a repair install of iTunes.
Restart the PC first.
If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair".
If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", and click "Change". Select "Repair" and click "Next" as per the following screenshot:

Hi,
I think you can try installing the PDK version 6.6 without uninstalling 6.2. What i understand from the .PAR file is that, it is a group of Portal components.
Portal components in 6.6 should be the upgraded version from 6.2. So i think it will replace the old component with new component.

It seems to me that if Microsoft's platform can not fix it with the troubleshooter that the troubleshooter sucks. It does not know when errors are thrown so your developer sucks on creating software for errors that are popping up in your software?
if a error is thrown in Windows 8 it should catch it upon a thrown error in programming? This hsould be a level 1 ticket. Since when I call you support for error in your product no one wants to address problems in your software and get mea tech to resolve

The question now is how do I fix this and why is it causing me an internal error 500 for my web server install?
I may have other issues but I need access to my web server through my browser I used fsocketopen to troubleshoot it?
It gets back a internal 500 on Gecko process in firefox and on IE it just won't serve out the document in my web server abyss or apache? So the question is what service is broken so I can't serve my [web server] pages out? Let me go through all the event
