Remove Photoshop 6 from 10.9.3

Want to replace Photoshop 6 and go back to using Photoshop 5.
I have backed up my computer,  an iMac, late '09, iCore 7.
How to safely remove Adobe PS6 files before I install PS5?

1. No, you haven't.
2. Back up the iPhoto library(this can be done through Time Machine or by dragging it to a drive, partition, or disk image formatted as Mac OS Extended) and then click Upgrade.
3. Aside from Time Machine and drag-copying items from your home folder, programs such as the Disk Utility, Carbon Copy Cloner, and SuperDuper can make backups.

I have downloaded Photoshop CC. Can I remove now Photoshop CS6 from my computer.

    Hi there,
You can have both Adobe Photoshop CC and Adobe Photoshop CS6 on the same system and both will work fine.
In case you need to remove photoshop CS6 from your system, you will first have to deactivate it so save the activation count which you can use it for the future to reactivate.
    Activation:
Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet.
    Start the application.
Choose Help > Deactivate and choose one of the following options.
Deactivate or Suspend Activation. These options deactivate the software but retain licensing information. Choose one of these options if you want to temporarily deactivate the software, and you're planning to activate on this computer again.
Deactivate permanently. This option deactivates the software and removes the licensing information from your computer. Enter the serial number again if you want to use the software on this computer.
    Deactivation:
CS6: You log in with your Adobe ID to activate your software when you install it or within the first seven days of use. Follow the steps below.
    Steps:
Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet.
    Start the application.
Choose Help > Activate. (If this option is dimmed, you've already activated your software)
Log in with your Adobe ID (usually your email address) to activate your software. If you don’t have an Adobe ID, you see an option to create one.
Optional (CS5 & earlier): After you activate, also register your Adobe product for faster and easier access to support and upgrades.
If you need the free download link for CS6, you can visit [  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/other-downloads.html  ]
    Thank you

  • How to completely delete Photoshop Elements from my computer??

    Hi
I am trying to completely remove Photoshop Elements from my computer.   So far, I have failed in my attempts to do this.   The reason I'm doing this is b/c for some reason that I can't fathom, the folders in My Pictures -- the folders named by shot date -- contain random duplicates. When this happens, the file names folow the convention of DSC_0222 and DSC_0222-1. Exactly the same file size and metadata.  In some folders, every picture is duplicated. In other folders, only selected pitcures within the folder are duplicated.   I can't figure out how they got there -- e.g. it doesn't seem to bear any connection to the photos I've edited, which was one theory I had for a while.   Is Elements responsible? Or is this some sort of bug in the download process from the camera (I have a Nikon D40).  Anyway, I've given up on trying to sovle this problem and decided I would go back to the beginning and reload everything from my camera.   So, my real question here is about how to completely uninstall Elements.
Here's what I did:    I uninstalled Photoshop Elements through the Add/remove programs utility.  I got no errors during the uninstall process.   Then I completely deleted the My Pictures directory (don't worry -- I have it backed up in multiple places!!).   So, at this point there are *no* pictures on my computer at all.    I reinstall Elements, open it up and -- you guessed it!!! -- the catalog is still there with all the thumbnails of the pictures that i deleted from my hard disk.   Of course, each thumbnail is flagged as "Missing File".
So, how do I uninstall/reinstall Elements and get it to forget all memory of the previous catalog?   Why is it "remembering" it in this way when the pictures aren't even on the computer anymore?  Isn't this a bug???
I've been working on this issue for much longer than I care to remember-- if anyone can tell me how to get myself truly back to ground-zero so I can start over I would be deeply grateful.   After upgrading to Elements 9 (from 7) to try to solve this problem I am close to just abandoning Elements entirely.....
WHile we're at it, if anyone has any idea where the duplicates pictures are coming from and how I prevent that from happening, I'm' all ears!!!!
    Thanks!

    Hi
Thanks so much for the response.   So, Help/System Info says that the catalog is here:
    Catalog Location: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\My Catalog\
but no such file appaers to exist.  In fact, I can only get as far as All Users.   Then there is no directory under that called "Application Data".
i'm still seeing the thumbnails when I got into Elements tho'....   :-(

  • How do I transfer photoshop cs3 from my mac powerbook to my macbook air?

How do I transfer my photoshop cs3 from my mac powerbook to my macbook air?

Download the Trial version to the MacBook Air from
    http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
Follow the Very Important Instructions on that page first otherwise the links won't work.
Then launch the Trial and enter your CS3 serial number and you're done.
That'll use up your second (of 2) activation. If you want to remove Photoshop CS3 from the Powerbook then open Photoshop Help > Deactivate then uninstall to free up an activation.

  • How can I remove an image from its background and save it? (Photoshop cs6)

    Hello,
I am very new to the photoshop world and am trying to remove an image from its background ( as a stand-alone) and save it. Is there a way to do this in Photoshop CS6?  I have looked at tutorials but only found how to remove the image but not how to save the image as a stand alone with no background.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Erika

    Hi Erika,
Are you trying to save a portion of an image with a transparent background? It may help to post a screenshot of the image that you're working with as well as your layers panel.
I've included a few tips below that may help you with your situation. If you need additional help, please feel free to post again
Deleting a background and saving an image with a transparent background
    1. Here I am working with an image of a santa hat that I've cut out from a white background. I have two layers, the cut-out santa hat and the original file. I'm going to delete the background layer so that I have just one layer - the cut-out santa hat:
    2. You'll see that a checkerboard pattern has appeared behind the santa hat. This means that the background is transparent.
    3. You can then go to File > Save As... and select PNG, Photoshop PSD, or TIFF from the Format dropdown menu. These file formats will save the cut-out portion of your image on its own, while preserving the transparent background.

  • How to manually remove Photoshop Elements 4.0 from Windows

My uninstaller for Photoshop Elements 4.0 in Add or Remove programs fails with the message - "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed." The program folder still resides on my harddrive. The program itself neither runs nor will it allow me to delete the program files' Photoshop Elements 4.0 folder that contains the executable and dll files from my harddrive. I need a manual uninstall proceedure.

Have you got the disc? If so, you might try installing it again then an uninstall.
    Failing that...
Here's the Adobe tech doc on removing Photoshop Elements 5. I would assume it would be the same procedure.

I can't remove a picture from the Photoshop Elements 9 editor.  I am using an imac with the Lion operating system.  I have tried to close the picture, but everytime I open the editor from iphoto to do more advanced editing than is possible in iphoto the picture is still there.  Can anyone help with this BIG PROBLEM?  Please response directly to my e-mail.  Thank you.

This is a quirk with the Elements editor and lion's feature for reopening saved windows. If you go to system prefs>general and turn off Restore Windows when quitting and reopening apps it will stop happening. See this thread for more:

On my mac, photoshop cc "save as" removes capture date from exif data. How do I prevent this?

You had to reinstall CS6 after cancelling the CC as both were from the same Adobe ID. You can always use & keep both CC & CS6 together.

  • Can I remove photoshop cs2 after I have upgraded from cs2 to cs5?

Can I remove Photoshop CS2 after I have upgraded from CS2 to CS5?  I upgraded from CS2 to CS5 quite a while ago and I have never removed CS2.  Will it affect CS5 to remove the old CS2 if it was an upgrade?

If I were you I would just delete the installed  Adobe CS2 folder. Adobe CS2 uninstaller my remove settind CS5 made to your system after CS2.   The CS2 uninstaller may try to restore settings to a point in time where there was no Photoshop installed on your system.  If you do a CS un-install you may need to then Install CS5 on top of itself the update cs5 for the install will not have the updates you will be back at CS5 level .

  • PHOTOSHOP version 7.0----How to remove a blur from a pic?

I've done everything to try an remove the blur from my pictures but nothig works, can someone help me? I have Windows XP and have contacted the Photoshop support phoneline but as usual they wont help me because im not willing to spend more money on their newer versions, can someone please help me? I want to get soem pictures fixed using photoshop for funeral reasons so anyone that can help please help me ASAP.

Also, sometimes the terms blurred and de-focused are used interchangeably, but they aren't. Focus Magic has a feature to detect the amount of de-focusing at selected locales in the image. That de-focusing is measured as a diameter of the local circle of confusion in pixels. An out-of-focus background has a measurably greater amount of de-focusing, while the in-focus parts of the image measure 0 pixels of de-focusing. You might not want to apply Focus Magic to an image where the photographer deliberately used an expensive fast lens to throw the background out of focus. Fortunately, Focus Magic can be applied to feathered selections in Photoshop, to avoid such blunders.
A truly blurred image will measure 0 pixels of de-focusing, while a de-focused image will read an integer number of pixels. In an image containing areas of de-focusing, each de-focused pixel is spread over a "circle of confusion" and, to a certain extent, all of those overlapping circles of confusion can be pushed back to where they were before the de-focusing spread them out.
Sometimes you can see that effect with the naked eye, in which a single bright point of light (say a distant star) has been spread over a circle, and we could mentally "deconvolve" it back to a point. In most out-of-focus images, the process of deconvolution is very computationally intensive, because there are so many overlapping circles. And the amount of information present in the image is limited by the number of pixels in the image.
A de-focused image looks blurred, but it actually has some recoverable information, and the more pixels there are in the image, the more potential information that can be recovered (and the greater the amount of computation required to process it.) Check out the Focus Magic website.

  • How can I remove Photoshop/lightroom/bridge from my old mac to my new mac?

I bought from Adobe the package with ps/lr/br and payed already for a year.
Now I bought a new mac and would like to remove the programs from my old mac to my new mac. So, how can I do?
They are connected with watch other now and I deinstalled the Creative cloud on my old one, so what can I do now? How can I install the programs on my new mac without paying again?

Install the Creative Cloud manager on the new machine and load up the applications from there.

  • I removed Photoshop Elements 9 and 10 from my laptop. It also removed parts of my version 12. I am not able to re-install verion 12. The install program keeps wanting to un-install version 12

I was cleaning up the programs on my hard drive and removed Photoshop Elements 9 and 10. I used Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove all the left over files and registry entries. Revo also removed parts of my version 12. I re-downloaded the demo version again as I already have the serial number. When I run the install program files my only choice is to remove version 12 and I'm not able to install

    Try this,
Run the cleaner tool. clean the product(if you see).
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
Then Rename/delete all the Adobe folders.
The locations are: 64 bit computer.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe.
    32 bit computer.
    C:\Program Files \Common Files\Adobe.
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe.
You also have Adobe folders in :
    C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe
    C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Locallow\Adobe
    C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\OOBE
    Then Re-install the product.

  • How do I remove the background from a movie / sound problems

Apologies, not really sure what I’m doing…
How do I remove the background from a movie I made?
I imported a QT movie at 368/272 pixels, but for whatever
reason the HTML jumps up to 550/400.
The movie is still 368/272 but there is a background border
making it 550/400. Tried all sorts of settings in Publish but
can’t get rid of it. Can I keep the movie (and controller)
    and not the background?
I can get round it by changing the background colour, but
surely there must be another way.
Also: My QT file was fine but the .flv has a stuttering
sound, any idea what could cause that?
    Thanks, and Thanks!

If you want to remove a background and add a new one Photoshop Element for Mac makes it rather easy to do:
