Remove Signature

If we lock the signature field when we sign or certify the document, later on can we remove the signature? If we want to remove the signature and resign or recertify a document which has signature field locked, how to do it?
Thanks for your help.

Only the signer of the document may remove a signature. For that the signing certificate must be installed on the Acrobat installation where you want to remove a signature. Acrobat determines that this is the signer's machine by finding the signing certificate on this machine. You cannot remove someone else's signature.

  • How to delete hyperlink (Remove signature) in a form created with InfoPath

    Hello.
We have Sharepoint 2013 Foundation in production. It work with forms created with InfoPath. In these forms, digital signatures are used to approve. The problem is that once you have signed the forms, the user can remove the signature. That's what we want to
    avoid.
Which file should I edit to remove the hyperlink? I can not find how to do it. Do you know a better option?
    Greetings.
    MCSA: Windows Server 2008

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to delete hyperlink (Remove signature) in a form created with InfoPath.
As far as I know, there is no OOTB way to achieve this. You need to use custom code to prevent removal of digital signatures.
Please add the OnBeforeChange handler code to the "signatureN" group where the signature is stored, not to the section you are signing.
In other words (my excample) browse to :
Tools - Form Options - Digital Signatures - "Enable digital signature for specific data" - Modify/Add
Note the "Store signatures in the following group" value. It will be a read only value, eg /my:myFields/my:signature3/my:signature4

How do I remove a signature from a pdf in Preview?  I can edit all the other fields that I filled in on the form but the signatures won't select.  What am I missing?

  • Removing signatures in a digital signature field

Hi all, I have a question relating to the topic above that i hope
    you guys can help me with;
    1) Is it possible to remove digital signatures from form? For instance
if you have a form going thru several approval steps that requires
signatures, and then one step happened to reject, it would be nice to
remove the previous signatures so that they could be re-signed.
    2) And finally is there a simpler way to combine digital signatures
and rights management then what was listed in the pdf provided by
Duane (second post from the bottom of the thread)? When creating a policy there is
a checkbox for "Filling in form fields and signing". Is this forsomething else?
    Thanks!
    Billy

Hi all, came accross a few other problems and hopefully someone can
    help me out,
I've managed to place digital signatures on a form and I used a custom renderer to apply a policy for rights management. I used a Document
Form type variable in the process and specified that the form should only be rendered once. Now at some point in my process I wanted to
remove a signature so I tried to use the Clear signature field service. When i run it however i get a stall and an error in my logs
saying "The input PDF is encrypted using APS and could not be opened, hence the operation clearSignatureField can not be performed on Signature Field ConsultantSig. (in the operation : clearSignatureField)"
So figure, ah well, thats cool, i'll just remove the policy as I figured thats what was encrypting it. So i threw in a Remove Policy service and then i get another error in my logs saying that

Oh great, a conversion problem when i try to remove the policy! Incidently i get this same conversion problem when i try to remove a signature using the Clear Signature on a form that has NOT had any policy placed on it at all.
So basically, to sum up these are the main issues
    1) Can digital signatures be removed from a form that has a policy placed on it, or do i have to remove the policy first?
    2) Why am i getting these coercion errors? As i understood it using a Document Form variable is the correct way to go. What should i do to resolve this?
So can anyone shed a little light on this?
    Thanks

  • How do I create a certificate to remove signature field issues?

I would like to start using digital signatures for some internal documents. We are a small site with about 20 PC users (3 of them Apple).
We can create PDFs with signature fields but every time we sign the document, when somebody needs to sign again (for approval of the first sign), then a constant message "file has been modified since it was signed" and also "at least one signature has problems......"
The way I created the forms is by adding form fields and then "Extend features in Adobe Reader" as only the 3 Apple devices have Professional version of Acrobat.
What is the correct way to do this? I think I need to create a Trusted certificate, of course for the size of our site I don't want to have external solutions, especially because it is for internal purposes only.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

How the signing certificates that you use for all signatures were procured? Were they created by a reputable Certificate Authority (CA) or are they self-signed certificates that you can create in Acrobat and other apps?
If they are self-signed certificates then you need to explicitly trust each of them on each Acrobat/Reader installation. You can use (Acrobat XI/Reader XI) to do that:
    1. Right-click on the signature, select "Show Signature Properties...->Show Signer's certificate".
    2. In the left pane shows the signer's certificate. Select it.
    3. Select "Trust" tab on top and in this tab "Add to Trusted Certificates". Again for self-signed certificates you need to do that on each Acrobat/Reader installation.
If you got your signing certificates from a Certificate Authority #2 above shows the certificate chain. Select that top-most certificate in the chain and add trust for it as in #3. Chances are that all your certificates were issued by the same CA. In this case you need to add trust to only this one certificate on each Acrobat/Reader installation.
You can use Export/Import Security Settings feature in Acrobat to make this process easier. This feature was discussed at length in several discussions on this forum <Re: Small Business Digital Signature Set-up>. Search for "Export/Import Security Settings" for more info.

  • Cant edit or remove signature field

I accidentally added a digital signature field to a form I was making. Now I cant select it, or delete it from the form. Is there any way to get rid of it without starting over?
I looked in the hierarchy, and structure views and its not listed there. When I preview or use the form its there plain as day right smack dab in the middle of my form.
    Im using live cycle 8.0
    Thanks

From the sounds of it it is in the master page section of the hierarchy, instead of the subforms. That's the only way I've come accross being able to see something and not select it when editing.
Have a check there first, because I can't think of anything else right now! :)

  • Adding or removing signatures

I have created a signature for my business for my email communications.  Not all my emails are business related but the signature appears automatically.  I know that I can go to the drop down on the upper right showing SIGNATURE and choose NONE but I would rather be able to have it that other way around...just choose SIGNATURE when I WANT one.  Is there a way???
    SOLVED I found a WAY!

    I'll try
    Open Mail
    Choose Prefrences
    Create Signature
It will have two choices:  a. All Signatures b. Telus (or whatever server you have)
Bottom of this screen has a place to Choose Signature.
    I Chose NONE
If I want to put the signature INTO my email it can be done within the email itself.  Right hand corner just above body of your email is a drop down menu next to Signature:  Choose which ever signature one you want
    Hope this was helpful

  • Remove signature separator in Evolution

In Evolution (and most mail clients/services), there is a line with "--" inserted before the signature.
I disabled it successfully in Thunderbird, but I recently switched to Evolution, and I can't find the setting.
Guides found on Google said to use gconf-editor, but the setting wasn't there. Other guides said to look under advanced in Edit > Preferences, but I couldn't see a button.
Looks like those are out of date.
    Has anyone done this successfully?

I am having the same problem.

  • Remove signature on new message

When I create a new message my signature always appears. I do not want this. I want to manually enter the signature from its drop-down menu.
    Os 10.8.1 Mail 6.0.
    How can I fix this?

I don't see that happening on my account. I imagine the signatures are corrupt. I'm not sure how to fix that. The signatures are in a folder in your username/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Signatures folder. I don't know what will happen if you delete any of those files.
I would make a copy of the folder, then delete the items in the folder. Open Mail and rebuild your signatures. Mail should recreate all the files as required. If it crashes or acts weird, Quit and move the copied files back.

  • Digital signatures getting more difficult

I'm sure there are good reasons for the changes, but from my viewpoint digital signatures in Acrobat are becoming less convenient with each new version I try.
I make extensive use of invisible signatures, with a number of people required to invisibly sign each document. In Acrobat 5.05 it was a breeze, either using a menu option or the dropdown in the signatures panel (my preferred method). Deleting a signature field was equally convenient. Just right click the field and delete it.
In Acrobat 7, the menu and dropdown options disappeared and one has to go through a bunch of screens to get there. Not terrible, but less convenient. Also, documents created using Acrobat 5 or 7 could be signed using either version as long as the document was created using Acrobat 5 (PDF 1.4) compatibility. For deletion, signature fields must be cleared first, and only then can they be deleted. In both cases, creating invisble signatures and deleting signature fields, there are more steps in Acrobat 7 than in Acrobat 5.05. I can live with it, but it seems like reverse progress to me.
Now I am trying to help my boss use Acrobat 10 to invisibley sign documents created using Acrobat 7 and already invisibly signed by others using Acrobat 7 and Acrobat 5.05. If there's a way to do it, I can't find it. I suppose I could create a blank signature graphic, but that seems silly. Neither can I find any way to delete signature fields. I can clear them, but not delete them.
I'm guessing that the changes to digital signature functionality have something to do with making signed PDFs more secure and more difficult to tamper with, but I find it hard to believe that can't be accomplished without losing so much functionality.
I need to be able to have multiple invisible signatures and the capability to remove signature fields, and I need to be able to do it in Acrobat versions 5.05, 7, and X for documents created using any of those versions. If anyone knows how it can be done, please let me know.
    Thanks.

What viewer are you using for showing the PDF?

  • Mail Signature Replacement

I have a weird signature problem. I have 3 real IMAP accounts set up, and 4 signatures. The relationships are:
    Account
    Email Addresses
    Signatures
    Default
    Account A
    Address A
    Signature A
    Signature A
    Account B
    Address B1, Address B2
    Signature B1, Signature B2
    Signature B1
    Account C
    Address C1, Address C2
    Signature C
    None
An email has been sent to  Address B2 which has gone into Account B. Good.
When I reply to this message, Mail replies from address B2 and inserts Signature B1 as the default for this account. Good.
If I change the signature in this email to B2, this is added below Signature B1 rather than instead of. Bad.
I would expect Mail to remove signature B1 which it added, and then insert signature B2.
    Any ideas?

After I click OK twice, the message goes away and ff4 seems to operate properly

You cannot redact a signed document. This is because one of the things signatures guarantee is access to the OLDER document (i.e. there will be an unredacted copy in there).
In general you cannot remove signatures, but sometimes you can. Look under the Signatures tab (right click on left vertical bar if there isn't one) to see if it is removable.

  • Mail in 10.6.3 doing double or triple spacing with single "return"

I got a new MBP with OX 10.6.3. I've never experienced this problem with 10.5.8 on my previous laptop, and a call to Apple support has not solved it yet (either they never heard it or it's unique to me). Figured I'd ask the community.
In the Mail program, I can click reply or forward to a message in the inbox, manually highlight my signature, hit delete key (to remove signature), type the first line (such as, "dear so-and-so,") and hit the return key once.
Mail will sometimes drop in 2 or 3 blanks lines with that single press of the return key. When then hit the delete key, it will step backwards one line at a time.
This does not happen when I click reply/forward and use the signature pop-up menu set to "none." It only happens when I manually highlight my signature and press delete to remove it.
It doesn't happen every time either (very odd). I can do a test reply to the same message repeatedly and see it happen 30% to 50% of the time.
I can reproduce the problem by replying to different emails (so the problem doesn't seem to be tied to the sender's email address or the content of the email I'm replying to/forwarding).
My signature is plain text. It looks like this:
    (blank line for visual space)
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
    -My Name
(2 blank lines for visual space)
    My Name
    My Company
    My Address Line 1
    My Address Line 2
    My email
    My web address
    My phone
    My fax
    (blank line for visual space)
Another strange tidbit. If I remove the blank line at the END of my signature, the problem goes away. Yet, if I leave the blank line at the END of my signature, I don't see the problem when I compose a NEW message (only with reply/forward).
It's almost as if the blank line at the end of the signature causes the problem only when there is quoted content.
And one final piece of strangeness. If I go into my signature, remove the blank lines at the end of the signature text, and add a SINGLE blank line after my fax# and close the preferences... now re-open the preferences, the Mail program has added a SECOND blank line after my fax# all by itself.
I tried removing the signatures folder from home > library > mail (thought it might be corrupted file or something), but the problem persists. I tried deleting the signature within Mail and re-creating it, typing it in manually, but the problem persists.
I have not yet experimented with new accounts/users. I've never used the Automator script program.
    Any thoughts?

  • Open pdf says "please fill out the following form" when I attempt to apply redactions, I get an error message.  How do I "turn off" the form portion of the document?  I assume that is the problem since I have not had this issue with any of the other files

I am attempting to redact a large pdf file.  When I open the file, it has a bar across the top with the message "please fill out the following form".  I can mark redactions, but when I attempt to apply them I get a message saying, "In order to proceed Digital Signatures must be removed and the document must be fully authorized.  Do you want to make these changes and continue?"   I click "ok".  Then I get a message saying, "an internal error occurred."  How do I get around this problem?

You cannot redact a signed document. This is because one of the things signatures guarantee is access to the OLDER document (i.e. there will be an unredacted copy in there).

  • Multiple signautures on a word document.

    Hi guys,
So I have a document with multiple signature lines at the bottom. The document is being shared on the company intranet. The issue is sometimes we can get more than one signature and others we can't. It seem very hit and miss.
Also another issue is with regards to editing. I have restricted editing to the whole document so no changes can be made other than a signature. Despite this when testing, if I try to edit I receive the alert "editing will remove signatures"...if
I choose to "edit anyway" the signatures are removed despite actually not being able to change anything.
    Any ideas on a workaround?
    Thanks in advanced

What've the version of Word you initially create the documents? And what's the version of Word you are currently using? Try to run Word.exe in safe mode to check if the issue still persists.
    Winword.exe /safe
    Or
    Winword.exe /a
To disable the suspeious add-ins if the issue would be gone after we startup command line switches to start Word.

If you are using Word 2010 and the document is created by Word 2007 or earlier version, the following hotfix may fix that.
