Remove switch between apps tip

The tip "switch between apps" will not go away. I have tried doing what the tip says but it won't go away.

The only solution I could find for this is to move my mouse to the top left of the screen, but it doesn't work when I do. Therefore, whenever I have an app open, the ****ing tip to switch between apps won't leave my screen. Same thing for the tip that
shows me where the start button is, only when the tip isn't actually there, I can use the button without a hitch. Seriously frustrating considering I haven't had a computer for almost a week and this happened the moment I started it up.

What idiots created the "Switch between apps" tab?

Really?
Microsoft, you've created a major screw up and offer no solution for this. I purchased a new laptop, (has a touchscreen), and I can not get rid of the "Switch between apps" tab without restarting the computer.
Swiping it does nothing, it stays. Clicking the top left corner or touching there does nothing. It just sits there determined to be a pain and take up part of the screen.
What idiot designed this function. Have they been fired? Why does Microsoft refuse to respond with a fix or answer to all of the people asking to resolve this?
Really ticked off customer.

I want to provide my help to help you get rid of this issue, instead of restarting your computer.
Open Local Group Policy Editor, you can press Win+R to get the prompt, type
gpedit.msc and press Enter.
In the left pane, click/tap on to expand User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, and Edge UI
In the right pane of Edge UI, double click/tap on Disable help tips to edit it:
Set the configuration to Enabled.
Select Apply and exit Local Group Policy Editor.

How can I switch between apps without going to home screen?

Is there anyway to switch between apps with one tap? (ie. without going to home screen first). Kind of like a command-tab feature.

Well, you can have one app that you can get to with a double push of the home button (set in settings which you want), but I think it's only your contacts list, or your ipod app. Still useful though.

Switching between apps launched through RemoteApp from Windows 2008 R2 server

I have a problem with RemoteApp on Windows 2008 R2 Standard SP1.
When I try to switch between apps, launched from RD Web Access web-page, it is not always succeded. Instead of it the target app blinks and I still remain at the previous app. In another words, the next app window remains behind the previous
app window and I have to minimize the previous app before switching to the next app.
Following the recommendations given by the TechNet Online Chat assistant, I've been installed all the available updates on that server from the Microsoft Update, but it didn't help us.
Is there any way to resolve this trouble?

No. The closest you'll come is the "Multi-tasking" bar: Double tap the Home button.

What do you mean here? You can only restrict the camera itself, not any options within the camera app.

Swiping up from the bottom of the screen with four fingers did not bring up the app preview. A single press on the home button still brings me back to the home screen, but a double press of the home button does nothing following updating to 7.1 Given that, when I added a software home button as suggested by DIAVONEX, I found that all of the apps WERE still open! So thank you DIAVONEX, and you should be careful, bobseufert, as your information was inaccurate.( I did try turning it off and that didn't change anything. ) I don't really want a software home button on my screen, but I guess I will use it until either there is another update to resolve this glitch or someone else identifies a quirky setting that I inadvertently activated...

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

CC aplications go to white screen and lock up the computer when switching between apps

We have been successfully using CC for several months, then about 30 days ago suddenly when we tried to switch apps between dreamweaver, and Photoshop the computer went to a White screen and froze. This problem is completely repeatable, and we are at a complete loss to correct the problem. Any ideas? It doesnt do this when you switch withing Bridge and Photoshop, but with anythign else,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, CRASH!!

Best way to speed up switching between apps?

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out what I can do to make my Mac Pro better, (ie, faster) at switching between applications. There will be times when I am working in Photoshop and I need to go back to Illustrator, or InDesign (these seem to be the 2 worst offenders) and it will literally take minutes for my computer to finally open the .ai or .indd file. And just fyi, the files are already open, I'm just clicking from the PS environment to an already open file in Illustrator or InDesign and bringing them to the front.
Is this a lack of RAM? Is it something else? Is it an Adobe issue? I'm just pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to make this better/more efficient. If buying/installing more RAM would help, then I am open to that, but I just want to make sure that is the root of the problem, or that it will at least make it better. I suspect that it's not necessarily just an Adobe-centric issue since clicking on Firefox will also reproduce the same problem, ie. it will take a minute or two to finally come to the front.
The basic breakdown of my system: Mac Pro 2 x 2.66 GHz 6-Core Intel Xenon, 8 GB Memory (8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3), running system 10.6.8. Adobe Creative Suite 5.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It might help to have Activity Monitor running while you're working like this, to see what's happening to the CPU, the RAM, and the drives. Activity Monitor is in your Applications/Utilities folder.
The first tab of the application is CPU usage. Unless you're pegging the cores with a heavy processing job (eg, file conversion), that's unlikely to be your bottleneck, but it's always possible that there's a process running there you weren't aware of.
Next is RAM. When you have large files open, those files are stored in RAM, so with PS, AI and ID files open at the same time, you may find you quickly use up your available memory. Check how much red, yellow, blue and green you have in the pie chart. Any time you have to page RAM out to the hard drive, it'll cause a slowdown. I would say 8GB is actually on the low side for that kind of simultaneous use of Adobe apps. Get 12GB or really as much as you can afford.
Obviously check drive space - you should leave a good 10-15% room free on your project drive. And are you storing the media/project files on your system drive? Using a separate, fast (ie, 7200rpm) drive, or even two striped, can give you MUCH better performance when reading/writing media.

hello jlamoure, i think this might be due to the memory management of your operating system. resources might be moved away from the applications running in the background when they are needed elsewhere, so that may be why firefox is reloading the tabs once you come back...
