Remove the time duration from the TOC

Hi,
I am using Captivate 4.
We are adding TOC to our movies and would like to remove the duration from the TOC as shown below:
I tried to unselect the "Show Duration" checkbox located in the "Skin TOC settings" dialog but it didn't work.
Can anyone help?

Interactivity is more than just reading and clicking, but that is not your question. Which version do you use? I will suppose it is the latest one, 8.0.1.242.
Answer was already in my first reply. Insert an interactive object: shape button, normal button or click box. They can pause the slide, typical pausing time (see Timing Properties panel) is at 1.5secs for shape buttons and other buttons, at the end of its timeline for the click boxes that are invisible to the user. Interactive objects have a Success and a Failure event, when they click on it the Success event is fired and that event can trigger an action like 'Go to Next Slide'. You'll find those actions in the Properties panel for that object, Actions tab. User can read or look as long as he wants, and only when he clicks that object he will move to the next slide. Since you'll probably want that object to be clicked to move to the next slide on every slide, I recommend to use a shape button. That is the only one that can be put on a master slide (maybe the main master slide), or on the first slide and timed for the rest of the project (Timing Properties panel). More details in this post:

Never extend a slide duration for the purpose you mention, because that is just increasing the file size for no reason.

Keeping the time code from the source material

Hi - I have a camera that generates TC. I have it set to free run and the clock so that it records the actual time of the event as it takes place (doing this because it's meetings and such).
Problem is, when I import this footage (camera is AG-HMC40P by Panasonic) I'm not sure how I can display the footage time code in Premiere. Premiere just shows the numbers at all 00's as the source code.
Can someone explain to me what I need to do in Premiere to display the footage with its time code?

Actually, I may have spoken too soon. Do you have any experience with this filter? I downloaded it and installed it. It works to provide a localized time code, but I still can't figure out how to see the time code from the clip/sequence from the capture file. For example, I have a tape that I play back on my TRV310 and it says September 7, 2009 and gives me the time at the bottom of the on-cam display. However the filter you suggest never seems to pick that up, even if I tell it to use "Source Time Code" as a value for the "Timecodes" property. Any idea how to get that time/date code embedded in the file?

There are plenty of other ways to do it.. but issues to do with Apple not using a dynamic DNS client so if your ISP does not allocate you a static public IP there is no way to find it, if the public ip rotates as they are designed to do hourly or daily.
Do a google search, remote access time capsule..
Or use the more like this on the right hand side... there are plenty of posts and even youtube video which go right through it.
BTW your school system may simply block the port.. if I was a school IT admin.. I would. You are dragging files across to the internal school network bypassing the firewall.. that is unacceptable risk to the whole school system.

I have a new laptop and have transfered 'all purchases' yet the only things i have is whatever is on my ipod at the time, nothing from the other iTunes accounts. What do i do to get everything back?

so my old laptop was a HP pavilion Vista. And my new laptop is a samsung windows 7. I pluged my ipod in as usual, transfered all purchases, yet all that got moved into my library was just what was stored on my ipod at the time, I had authorised my new laptop yet i still dont know how to get everything grouped into my new laptops library... Copy everything that you included in your regular backup to your computer.
Copy contact back to the computer, copy calendars, copy documents, etc.
You can type "move itunes library" into the Google search bar for itunes instructions.

How to calculate the time duration on a datetime column?

Hi guys,
I've done some search on this forum and everywhere else but I can't seem to get this right, at the beggining it sounded like something very simple to accomplish, for the instance with Excel but I'm struggling to get it to work with Crystal Reports on Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.
I have a datetime column (SQL Server 2000) that I wanted to calculate the the time duration on the report group footer, unfortunatelly the built-in SUM function cannot be applied and I've tried several formulas that I've found on the internet without any luck. I'm using a datetime column to store only the time because I'm stuck with SQL Server 2000 which doesn't have a time data type.
Would you guys know how to do it by any chance?

Guess what, by further testing the code on the website mentioned above I got it working.
Pus, I needed to change the grouping on the code, so I had to come up with a way to update the formulas based on the groupping field.
Considering "call_date" is the field that you are groupping by on the designer use the following code to update the formula:

How to read a time stamp from the db without ".0" at the end

Hi All,
I have code that is saving the results of a query in a result set.
When ever i read a time stamp from the db (mysql 4) it always adds ".0" to the end of it.
I tried using the getTimeStamp, getDate, getString methods for result sets and was not able to resolve the issue.
Am i missing something here?

Basically the user is asked to enter the query and the connection settings and then i retrieve the data and return a table.
Now if i try to print the value of the time stamp from the result set it adds a a .0
So for example if am running the following

When i print the value of the time stamp it gets printed as 2007-12-28 09:32:58.0

Are you talking about the Time Remaining display on the side bar? The text for that field is in the Modify Text Labels... tool in the Theme Editor of Presenter. You can change it to whatever you want, but you may want to keep a record of what the default text labels are, as there is no restore to default option. The Elapsed Time field is what you would want to change. I have seen this modified to show no text, copyright information or other general info.

When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.

If I understand you correctly, go to the skin editor (Project, Skin Editor in Captivate 4), select the Playback Control tab, uncheck the Progressbar check box. Leave checked the buttons for play/pause, rewind, forward, back, etc.

After I create say a word document, file it on my desktop and then shut down my machine. The next time I open up the MacBook the file icon has been removed from the desktop. I can still retrieve the file in a folder labeled with the month I created it. But why has the OS removed it from the desktop and how can I stop it happening?
It happens to alias icons as well!

for my MacBook Air problem adding music intensifier (Panasonic ST-HT1000) to give it an unpleasant sound background that sounds like a whiz, it's not so loud, but it is an unpleasant .. after a short time can get used to, but the fizz does not pass, however, believe that it is a big problem.
Further I notice that when MacBookAir disconnected from the charger, it remains quieter sound.
At first thought that the headphone jack (3.5 mm Headphone:
Connection: 1/8-Inch Jack) or wiere have problem, but tried 3 different cables, but that does change enything, the problem remains.
When I added iPhonu3GS playing - the background sound were not, then everything is OK!

There is no way to bring that up unless you have it typed in a document. You can use My Support Profile to find a list of serial numbers that have been purchased or registered with your Apple ID.

Yes, gladly. I am trying to install on a 13" MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8.3. I insert the disk into the SuperDrive. The I work '09 window pops up with two icons: one Tim install and one that says "Read before you install iWork." I double-click on the "Install iWork '09" icon, and a window appears that says, "This package will run a program to determine if the software can be installed." I click "continue" and see "Welcome to the iWork '09 installer." I click on "Continue." The "read me" bullet on the left lights up, and I see "Read before you install. . . ." I click "Continue," then see the software license agreement. When I click on "Continue" again, I am asked to agree, and I do. The window then says, "Standard Install on 'Mackintosh HD" and indicates how much space the program will take.
I click "Install," enter my password, and the installation begins. It goes through a validating phase and begins "writing files." It indicates that installation will take about 30 minutes (although that number fluctuates). After about four minutes it goes to "cleaning up." Then after just a few seconds, the "Summary" bullet on the left lights up and this message appears: "There were errors with the installation. You may want to try installing again." There is a large yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it, and a bold "The installation failed." Below that appears "The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
At that point, a "Close" button is pulsating blue at the bottom of the window.

Is it possible to remove my hard drive from the Macbook and install it in a new Macbook Pro?

I currently have a 2009 Macbook and am wanting to upgrade to a new Macbook Pro. I have upgraded my hard drive in the macbook to a 500gb and have a duel boot with Windows 7 installed with Boot Camp along with other software that I do not want to lose. Is it possible to remove my hard drive from the Macbook and install it in a new Macbook Pro?

A much better solution is to hook your two Mac together and the first time you start the new Mac and it asks if you wish to recover data from another Mac, answer yes. This will invoke Setup Assitant which will do the job for you but intelligently.
I know because I just used Setup Assitant. It worked like a charm.
