Remove top bar on iPhone?

By looking at the samples, I've seen that some applications show the top bar (the one that shows the time, battery life, etc) and others don't. I would like to remove it in my game, but by looking at the code in the samples, I can't found out what's the code that shows it or removes it.
May someone enlighten me?

  • Remove top bar of split keyboard on Safari

I really like the split keyboard on ios5, but it has a serious flaw when used in Safari. As I write this text, the keyboard is split but it shows a bar that runs atop both halves and has 3 buttons on the left (previous, next and auto fill - not sure if it's correct, my os is portuguese) and has a gray background through the whole screen. It gets real bad when I'm using GMail, most of the times I can't see what I'm typing, rendering it almost unusable.
Long story short, can I make it look like it is on other apps? Two halves with no background between them and no top bar?

AFAIK - You cannot remove the gray background or the 3 buttons on the left. The split keyboard is identical to the full size version - it is just split in half. That gray background is behind the full size keyboard as well, but it is more pronounced - or noticeable - when the keyboard is split.
I assume that many people love this new feature but personally I do not see the fascination with it. I have enough problems with the full size keyboard - but as the old saying goes - "to each his own"!
BTW ... In case you don't realize this - you can move the split keyboard up and down on the screen by tapping and holding down on the same key that you use to split or dock the keyboard.

  • Remove translucent bar on iphone 5S

How do I remove the translucent grey bar across the bottom of my iPhone 5S screen?

    Do you mean the dock?
You can't. It is meant to hold the apps you use the most as it stays constant as you change pages.
You can add or remove apps in the dock by holding an app icon until they all wiggle, then you will be able to rearrange the app icons on the page and in the dock, as you wish. Dragging icons on top of each other creates folders. Once a folder is created you can rename it by tapping the name and typing. You can add more apps to the folder after it is created. You can also drag apps across pages by dragging the app to the edge of the screen and holding it until the page turns. New pages are created to the right.

  • How do I remove Top Bar in Second Display?

    Hello Everyone,
I just updated my iMac to Yosemite, and some of my multi-display settings have changed. I would like there to be nothing showing on the second screen until I use programs like PPT, ProPresenter, etc. Currently, the second display is black screen except for the top menu bar. How do I hide seeing this? This computer is used in church services, and we truly need it full black if possible.
    Thanks!

The only way I know of doing that is putting the app in Full Screen mode, I am assuming you are using Yosemite (10.10.x), to put the display in full screen mode simply click the green + symbol in the upper left of the window.

  • Dislike the 4.0 View - can I remove top bar?

I dislike Firefox 4.o's Menu toolbar which splits the page name above the File Edit View bar. It's a waste of valuable space, and the trend towards widescreen monitors (landscape) when written page are portrait just makes it worse.
If they can't be shown side-by-side, can I keep the File Edit View commands and delete the page name at the very top?
I want all the other bars - ie Google search box next to page address bar, bookmarks bar, tabs.
I tried to show screen view here but couldn't.
Firefox 4 is NOT an improvement.

  • I have not been able to get the built-in iPhone 4S keyboard dictation to work. I talk into it, then tap "Done", then the phone "thinks" for a few seconds (the purple dots pulse and I see the network icon on the top bar spinning) and then nothing happens.

    Siri is wroking fine

I am experiencing exactly the same problem, today, and a reset, of all settings, did nothing to correct it.  Any suggestions would be welcome.  While dictation in all apps is out, Siri is working fine also.

  • How to Remove maximize/minimize/close top-bar in full-screen view [MAC]?

    Hi.
My Q. is pretty much as the title implies.
It's a small thing, and maybe kind of trivial,
but I'd like to know how to get rid of the maximize/minimize/close top-bar in full-screen view in Adobe Reader on the Mac.
I am definitely in fullscreen view [I hit command+L], just so you know,
but I still have that top grey bar showing with the maximize/minimize/close buttons [the red, yellow, and green].
As I said, kind of a trivial concern, but I'd like to know how to hide that in full-screen mode.
I tried searching around a few places for an answer, but there is nothing too obvious.
I can't find anything in the full-screen preferences of reader either. Maybe I'm missing something...
    Thanks!

Version 11.0 , so I guess that is the most recent?
I think this is an application-specific problem too, because I don't encounter this in full-screen mode with other applications.

  • Removing "Log Off" from top bar

I have been setting up some guest login pages for a test bed portal and have noticed that "Log Off" is no longer visible on the top bar next to my account.
    Any suggestions?

This is pretty much what I would expect, wouldn't you?
If you're not logged in (in other words, logged in as guest), you can't log off, so there shouldn't be a logoff button.
Perhaps I don't understand you correctly . . . what would you expect the log off button to do if you're on the guest login page?

  • How can I reduce the size of "Others" in iTunes' information bar for iPhone usage at the bottom of the "General"-screen?

When I open iTunes and attach my iPhone to the PC, click on "iPhone" and then on "Overall-view" (the leftmost Item at the top bar, "Übersicht" in German), I see on the bar at the bottom of the screen from left to right: "Audio - Fotos - Apps - Documents/Data - Others - Free". Now my question: What does "Others" include and how can I reduce "Others"? At my iPhone it takes 2.5 GB. I have cleared all my e-mails, how can I reduce it further in order to get more free space? Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi Hans,
“Other” space has several sources. Some ways of removing unneeded files from it can be found in this article -
iOS: "Not enough free space" alert when trying to sync
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1503
    Specifically -
Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
    Restore using iTunes.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,

  • The top bar of my browser is written in Chinese, Why and how do I fix it

The top bar of my browser is written in Chinese, Why and how do I fix it?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == 3 days ago

If you see CJK (Chinese/Japanese) characters on the Firefox title bar or the Windows Taskbar then that can happen if Firefox switches to UTF-16 encoding for some reason.
The ''RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin'' extension (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) has been reported to cause that issue.
Be sure not to get confused with the RealPlayer plugin (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) that plays media files.
The extension adds some extra features like saving media files.
You can disable/remove the ''RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin'' extension in the RealPlayer Preferences (RealPlayer: Tools > Preferences > Download & Recording)

This could well be the notorious Mac Defender - which is an annoying program that tricks you into thinking that your Mac is infected with a virus, when the only infection is Mac Defender itself.
When surfing the web never EVER click on a link that says "Free anti-virus scan" or "Scan now" - they are nearly always scams which will end up infecting your computer.  Although Macs are resistant to viruses, they're not resistant to user stupidity.
If you Google "Mac defender" then you'll find plenty of sites with instructions on how to remove this minor nuisance.  Take this as a warning that you need to be more careful in your surfing habits.

  • How do I add and remove mp3s from my iPhone?

I've forgotten again how to add and remove mp3s from my iPhone.  Can someone please remind me?  I am an iTunes subscriber using a PC running Windows 7 and iTunes 11.1.

Make sure you have iTunes 11.1.1 installed on your computer.
Plug your iPhone into your computer.
Open iTunes. Create a new Playlist and name it whatever you want. I use iPhone Sync.
Go to your Music Library, click and drag the music you want into your new Playlist.
Click on your iPhone along the top right. Click on Music and select Sync Music and choose just the new Playlist.
Click on the Sync button on the bottom right of the iTunes screen.
