Hi,
It redirects you with message "no Restore or Recore not found ...", You have to run this manually, do not click Restore but go to Windows\System32 right click and run as Administrator
Good luck.

The latest update attempt from FireFox has stated that it is not compatible with the Kasperskys' anti-virus 2012 software. When will FireFox be compatible?
Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com
For the full system requirements see http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/system-requirements.html -

Thanks for your reply, I have read the thread but I am confused!
Is the anti virus situation effecting this prelude problem also???
Prelude wont run because it is missing a file mc_enc_dv.dll
If i reinstall to gfet this back, norton will only dump it again.
Why is this happening on the latest adobe software update?
I havent changed anything on my PC, installed softaere or codecs or anything, all I did was

I have what appears to be a virus on my mac namely MAL/FAK AV-OQ I only discovered it after installing SOPHOS anti virus software.
I cannot remove it automatically with this software it says it has to be done manually.
Where do I start???
Help req'd urgentlyThat is Windows malware, and cannot affect your Mac. See:
http://www.sophos.com/en-us/threat-center/threat-analyses/viruses-and-spyware/Ma l~FakeAV-OQ.aspx
It may be attached to an e-mail message or could be something that was copied over from a Windows machine via flash drive or something similar. If it is attached to an e-mail message, simply delete the e-mail. (Do not let Sophos, or any other anti-virus software, quarantine the message or attachment! That can corrupt the mailbox that the message resides in.) If it isn't an e-mail message, you can let Sophos quarantine and delete the file or you can delete it yourself. -
I just downloaded an update and my sophos anti-virus is going beserk. It will not allow me to remove the threat manually when I unlock the quarantine manager and I have no idea of what to do.
The malware it's finding is probably Windows malware attached to e-mail messages. What are the names of some of those things? Assuming they're not Mac malware, allowing Sophos (or any other anti-virus software) to remove them could cause problems. For example, if they're attached to e-mail, removing them improperly by simply deleting the message file will leave the malware on the e-mail server, and it may very well end up getting re-downloaded when your mail client syncs with the server. It may also corrupt the mailbox.
If you actually ever see a malware name starting with MacOS or OSX (I forget which one Sophos uses), then you will need to worry, and should not assume that the malware can be completely removed by anti-virus software of any kind. -
Since download of Firefox Hello my home desktop & laptop, both on Windows 7, are very slow to open. I have refreshed firefox, removed download history and turned off the anti virus software in extensions. All the plugins are up to date. Can we revert back to Firefox without Firefox Hello?
Firefox Hello is simply a wrapper for technology already in Firefox, it doesn't negatively impact performance if you aren't using it. Are you saying that your entire computer is slow or just Firefox?

Best malware remover/anti-virus for OS X
I think I downloaded Flash Player Pro (non-Adobe product) virus. What is the best anti-virus/malware removal tool to use on Yosemite?
What, specifically did you do? Fake Adobe Flash Player update alerts are very common. However, unless you went to the linked page, downloaded the fake update and then opened it, it could not harm you.
If you did open something downloaded from that fake update site, it's unlikely to be malware. If it were malware, Mac OS X would have blocked it if it were known malware, and in this case anti-virus software wouldn't help you either.
It's more likely that this fake update would have been adware, which is not well-detected by Mac OS X or anti-virus software. If you are having symptoms of adware (ads being injected in sites that should not have ads, redirects to a different search engine than the one you usually use, etc), then you should be able to remove it by following the instructions in my Adware Removal Guide.

I am loading Mcaffee for me MAC and thought I had removed the existing antivirus software but it says I haven't. How do I look for existing anti virus software?

Are you REALLY a sure you want to do this? Macafee products are generally not well received in the Mac world. The same can be said for anti virus in general.
before doing something that will slow your Mac to a crawl take a look at http://www.thesafemac.com -
When trying to update Firefox 3.1.16 to Firefox 4, Norton Internet Security says that Updater.exe contains a virus. Norton then removes the program and the update fails. What is going on?
Somehow it got marked by Norton. I can't imagine that Firefox contains a virus, anti-virus-tools are a bit strange from time to time. Update your Norton register tomorrow and reinstall or deactivate it for installation.

How to remove MAC Defender Rogue Anti-Virus?
How to remove MAC Defender Rogue Anti-Virus?
Lois, there are other messages threads posted here with details on the removal of MACDefender and MACSecurity. Search on them for a listing of relevant threads.
Here’s a Macworld article on how to prevent after you have removed it:
http://www.macworld.com/article/159595/2011/05/macdefender_trojan_horse.html
To remove, launch Activity Monitor and look for MACDefender. Quit it and any connected processes. Using Spotlight, search for MACDefender and remove everything found. Take the preventative steps in the article above. -
My Sophus Anti Virus detected "troj-upatre-jl" and the cleanup failed from quarantine manager.
It says manual cleanup is required and I have absolutely no idea how to do that. Need help!Either it detected nothing at all, or it detected Windows malware in an email attachment. The malware will have no effect as long as you don't pass it on to anyone else or run it yourself in Windows.
Remove the useless, time-wasting Sophos product by following the instructions on this page, and also this one, if applicable. If you have a different version, the procedure may be different.
Back up all data before making any changes. -
I cannot access iTunes store from my laptop. I could for years but suddenly - no.
Have removed all recently installed software. Have uninstalled and re-installed both my anti-virus software and iTunes.
Have allowed pop-ups.
Have flushed the DNS. Nothing.
Still can't access the store. Please help!Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Can anyone indicate what Anti-Virus is being used succesfully with Win7 (64bit) and LR4? i understand that LR4 is quite finiky about having any Anti-Virus software looming around.
At the recommendation of my computer system builder (Puget Systems, a bit expensive but top notch for custom systems) I am using the free Microsoft Security Essentials:
