Remove uninstalled apps from Desktop App?

I have uninstalled several older apps, like the CS6 and original CC apps, using the standard Windows "uninstall" app from the control panel.
I would like to remove them from the desktop app so that they no longer show up asking to be updated. Eventually, they should even stop showing up at the bottom asking to be installed. A filter could deal with that, I would think.
Have I missed a way to do that? I just can't find it and searching has failed me. I must not have the right search terms to get the answer.
Basically, the only older app I want to see is Premiere Pro CS6 and only because I still help people with problems they are having. As for the rest of the apps, I only need the latest and greatest versions showing up.
Thanks,
Steven

  • How do I get Playbook out of my AppWorld & remove uninstalled apps forever?

I had a Playbook.  Great device.  Gave it to a co-worker so he could do more testing.  Apparently I'm never getting it back again.  :-)  So how do I get that Playbook out of my Appworld?  It always appears under available devices and I don't want it there any more.  Because more importantly I want all the associated PlayBook apps gone from "My World".  I only have a Torch now so I don't want to see any PlayBook apps any more.  It's cluttering up my list and complicates things when I'm using AppWorld in my web browser with my device connected to the computer.
Going one level even deeper, how do I remove previously downloaded apps from my list permanently?  I shouldn't have to be clicking through 4 pages of apps when I don't care about half of them any more.  I understand my purchases are being protected by ensuring that I can download the app again if I choose.  But really, I don't choose.  I want some of these apps gone forever.  Is that possible?

I have read that in an upcoming version that is currently in beta test phase, you are able to hide your uninstalled apps from My World.

  • Sharepoint can't remove / uninstall app

    Trying to deploy apps.
my app failed to install, going to the fly out, details, install error is "the remote hosting service is not configured. Details: unable to obtain master key"
    deploying using visual studio 2012
there is no option in the fly out for deleting the app.
    tried to remove app with powershell, using cmd Uninstall-SPAppInstance –Identity $appInstance -Confirm:$false -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue -ErrorVariable err;
this didn't work, and upon running now gives error msg 'another job exists for this app instance. Please retry after that job is done'
Have tried the work around (which isn't a fix at all) of changing productID# in the appmanifest. This works to get me moving forward, but still need a solution how to delete the previous app that didn't install correctly.
    anyone have ideas? Thanks

     hi,
i have found no other way then delete the entry in the content-database. you can find the app entry inside of the AppInstallations table. i remove this apps here. after the apps will not shown in the content list oder app in $instances = Get-SPAppInstance
    -Web ....
I think this is only a bad workaround.

  • How to Completely Remove/Uninstall Apple Remote Desktop?

This is for my home office system.
I do not want Remote Desktop installed on my home system. There is no reason for it there. Nobody needs to access my machine remotely and I do not even like the idea that there is an application on my machine that would enable anyone remote access to my machine.
When I first got this machine, I deleted what I thought were all the files associated with Remote Desktop. I have no files anywhere on my machine named "Remote Desktop" or "RemoteDesktop" or "ARD", yet I'm CONSTANTLY getting the Software Update alert, telling me I need to install "Remote Desktop Client Update 3.3.2".
For months now I've been ignoring it, and just un-checking the install box every time I need to do updates of other apps. But it is now driving me up the wall.
How in the heck do I make this F-ing thing go away?

yet I'm CONSTANTLY getting the Software Update alert, telling me I need to install "Remote Desktop Client Update 3.3.2".
That update message has nothing to do with uninstalling Apple Remote Desktop, which you have either uninstalled already or never had. All versions of Mac OS X since 10.4 have had the ARD client as part of the installation, and there's no way to remove it (not without hacking your system, anyway).
What is the problem with you just accepting the update? It's not going to hurt anything; unless you turn on Screen Sharing or Remote Management, no one can gain access to your computer. But if you want to not see that update presented, select it when it appears in Software Update and choose "Ignore Update" from the Update menu. Just unchecking it will only keep it from installing; it will not keep it from being presented again the next time you run Software Update.

  • Can I remove download folder from desktop without deleting

My Downloads folder has gotten on my desktop and now to remove it I have to put it in the trash and lose all my downloads. Is there something else I can do? It is already on my dock and in finder, but once I put the download folder from the desktop in the trash it removes my downloads from finder and the dock.

Open a Finder window and navigate to your User directory (it will typically have folders including Desktop, Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures). Click the arrow to the left of Desktop and you should see the Downloads folder that is currently on your desktop. Drag that Downloads folder (or the Downloads folder on your desktop -- they are the same) to the blank space in the Finder window below the other folders -- i.e., below Documents, Movies, etc.)

  • How do i completely remove uninstalled apps because they are still taking up my data?

I have uninstalled lots of apps but they are not completely removed from my phone's database and they are still taking up my memory, i was just wondering how do you completley uninstall and remove them?

Did you already try to sync again with your PC? If your data is part of the "Other" section on your phone, you'll have to restore your device to get that space back.

  • Removing uninstalled apps

    Hi,
My itunes account was hacked. Apple fixed everything up.I got my first ipad and when I connected it I ended up with an app from what the hackers had brought. It has not been installed but it sitting in my app file and I cant remove it. I have removed it from my computer  just have no idea how to remove it from the ipad.
    Help me  please.
    Thank you.

    Hello,
If it was a paid app, you can never remove it; RIM needs to keep record of your purchases so that, should you ever decide you want it again, you won't have to pay again. If it is a free app, then the clear cache has indeed, in AppWorld 2.0, changed from what you tried. From within MyWorld, press the key and select "Refresh List".
    Good luck!

  • Mail Removes Open Emails From Desktop On Shutdown

I like to open Mail emails onto my desktop to remind me that they need to be replied to.  But beginning awhile back, maybe around Mtn Lion or so, they randomly get removed from my desktop upon shutdown or startup.  This has complicated my organizational system for keeping my communications in order.  This is on my iMac 27, i7, 2.8 GHz, 8 GB. Running OSX 10.9.4, Mail 7.3.  This has been happening for awhile now and still is so I don't think it is specific to current hardware of software.  I haven't tried any specific fixes for this as I don't know where to begin.  Over this same time I have replaced the OS and Clean Installed everything, for other reasons, yet still the issue persists. Is anyone else having a similar problem?  I would really love to find a fix for this, any suggestions.

This is a POP account, right? What are your Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Remove copy from server settings?

  • How do I remove backup files from desktop

I am having difficulty removing backup files that are locked from my desktop that I transfered from a backup external hard drive. It starts to delete but whern it gets to 0 it rewrites the file. this happens evn after I answer "remove all locked files".
    Thank you
    John Roberts

I was able to delete the backup.backup files once I :
    1.  ran disk repair
    2. disconnected the external drive and restarted.
    Also the 1password.backup files
    ( Other discussions helped greatly.)
    Thank you,

  • Removing Shades' Bar from Desktop

I have downloaded and am using the Shades software to reduce the brightness on my iMac screen. (Btw, it works great and I strongly recommend it if your screen is still too bright at the lowest system setting.)
The problem: Shades' small horizontal brightness adjustment bar is still on my desktop. I can move it anywhere, but I don't seem to be able to remove it altogether. And it's really unnecessary, since Shades already has an icon in the Menulet area (upper right).
So: How do I remove the Shades' bar from my desktop?

Thanks, den.thed. That did the trick.
Nero, I did consider that it might be a Shades question, but, as a new Mac person, I also figured it was probably a OS question, so that's why I posted it here. And it turns out it was.

  • Removing Items/Icons from Desktop

I have installed items that I saved to my desktop. After installing them I moved them FROM my DESKTOP FOLDER into different folders (usually APPLICATIONS). Some of them remain on my desktop.
I don't want to keep the application but want to clear off my desktop. If I drag to the trash, I get the EJECT symbol.
How do I get the icon off my desktop without deleting it? Will dragging it to the trash really just eject or end the program? I have already pinned the ones I want to my dock.
    Thanks in advance.

Each of the items with the eject symbol is a mounted disk image, and using the eject button will remove them from the desktop. A disk image cannot be unmounted if any of the items on it are in use, and the application needs to be quit first. The dmg file associated with that image will make the icon reappear on the desktop if double-clicked.

  • Removing MAP channels from desktop content page

Currently, the channels that I have created that are only for mobile devices still show up in the Content page on the desktop. If they are selected, an empty channel shows up on the desktop. I have tried listing all the real desktop channels for the defaultHTML client type in the portal, but it does no good. Any suggestions?
Is there a tag I can use from withing the contentTemplate.html page to get the list of available channels and then make a check to see if they are supposed to be available to the genericHTML client type?
    Thanks for any assistance,
    Mary Cole

    Mary,
In iPS 3.x any channel selected to appear on the desktop/wireless client will show up in the content page (within the desktop). There is no available method to check the list of available channels to be able to selectively display channels in the portal desktop. This functionality is only present in MAP. That being said, you can prevent/alter the rendering of the MAP channel by either removing the template(html) and keeping only the wml templates or by editing the display template to indicate that the channel is for MAP only.
This problem is solved in PS 6.x where there is the ability to implement a "router" container channel that directs the user to a specific container channel based on their device type. Here each device specific container channel has its own channel list.
