Remove unwanted movie (not downloaded)

The movie rental "A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner! " was a mistake. I thought I had deleted the download (wanted the Descendants), but I was invoiced for this movie, too. Can you please remove it from any downloads or invoices?

There are no refunds. The very moment you click Buy the purchase is final.
BTW, you are not addressing Apple here at all. We are all itunes users just like you.

No, once a user has been created, you can't run Setup Assistant (without erasing and reinstalling).

Here's what's happened:
When you first start up a Mac and create the first user account, OSX assigns it UID (User ID) #501. The next one gets #502, etc. Those UIDs (not the user name) are what control permission to files.
You can see those numbers via System Prefs > Users & Groups; click the padlock and enter your Admin password, then select an account and right-click it, and select Advanced Options. Do not change anything on that window.
So . . . assume your old iMac had a user 501 with the data you want; it's identified that way on the backups.
When the Apple Store started up your new Mac, and created their account, it became #501.
When you used Migration Assistant to transfer the 501 account from the iMac's backups, OSX copied everything there "as is" except it had to change the 501 to 502.
The new 502 account has all the right permissions to things now in it's home folder, but the backups belong to user 501.
Have you added much to the Mac since you did the migration? Have you done any new backups? If not, while it's a bit of a hassle, one fix would be to create yet another user account temporarily. Make it an Admin account. Log on to it and delete all the other accounts. Then migrate the accounts from your backups; this time there won't be a conflict, so OSX won't have to change the UUID(s).
But if you have done new backups, this won't work, since Migration Assistant automatically uses the most recent backup. There's a way around that, but it's a bit (or more) tedious.

Rented movie not downloading - taking forever

I've been a iTV/iTunes user for a few years now and have rented many movies. the other night I tried to rent one, and it would not download. I've recently updated my software, as requested, on the iTV, and have checked my download speed, which is consistently up around 21-23. Anyone know what is going on here?

You are outside of europe, I'm guessing that is part of the problem.

Rented movies not downloading to ATV

I have rented 2 movies which will not download to my ATV. Running all current versions but for the life of me I can't figure this out. I'm about to factory restore my ATV to see if this helps.

Having similar problem - ATV won't show up as device on one computer, but I can see the library for that computer on ATV menu, however it's showing no rented movies available on that library, although rented movie shows up in the library on the computer. So it's a handshake issue of some sort between the ATV and the computer. No problem downloading and watching movies when done directly from the ATV. ??

Movies not downloading

I've rented a couple movies from itunes though my apple tv. I'm having an issue where the download does not start unless i restart my apple tv. Once the unit has rebooted it seems to download the content fine. Has anyone else had this issue?

I've been trying to figure out if it's a "design" feature or something wrong with my appleTV... I can download rental movies or bought movies/tv shows, BUT when I go to watch it, I get the white screen as you mention - and it appears to be playing back as the menu bar on the bottom indicates it is. It is VERY annoying, as the only thing you can do is reboot the machine. I've gotten to the point that I don't dare start playing a rental movie because I'll start the 24-hr time clock and not be able to watch while it's downloading due to the stupid white screen.
It is connected to my Pioneer PDP5080 via HDMI and I have to switch to it manually when I want to watch it. So, it is usually waking from sleep - could that be the issue?

The only way I know to get rid of the movie is to let it download and then delete it.
To tell what version you have, click the Apple (upper right corner), then click "About this Mac".

Rented movies not downloading, but i'm getting charged!

I rented a movie last evening (appleTV 2 with all software updated), this morning it's still saying "ready in 32 minutes" (and has been for the last two hours). I could drive to the store, rent the movie, cook dinner on the grill, clean the grill, then return the movie to the store and still get back before it downloads. This is the second time this has happened. There's no way to cancel the rental once it's started, and since Apple didn't reimburse me for the first bad download, I'm not expecting them to on this one either. Renter beware!
My broadband is flowing at 3mbs, but even dial-up should have downloaded the HD version overnight. BTW I've seen similar threads like this, but never an answer, so I just needed to vent.

Why are purchased Audiobooks and Movies not downloadable in the Cloud?

When I took a look at the new Purchased section in iTunes and found that movies and audiobooks were not there. Is there a reason for this or is it Apple launching an incomplete servic?

Movies aren't included because of licensing issues, basically the movie studios haven't agreed to it yet. Don't know much about audiobooks but it may well be a similar thing.

Sure. First thing is to simply try and drag and drop them into iTunes. If they are already in an iTunes compatible format (.AVI are not I believe) they will be added to your library.
If they are not added, then they may need to be converted with a third party format converter of some sort.
iLounge.com has TONS of articles and advice on third party applications that can do the job for you.
If the video goes into iTunes ok, next thing to try is syncing it to the iPod. If that works, you are all set. If it does work and you get an error that it can't be synced, it may need to be "tweaked" in iTunes. Right click the video and pick the Convert for iPod selection. iPods have more narrowly defined requirements as to what sort of video they can play compared to iTunes and a computer. So just because it plays in iTunes, doesn't mean it will automatically work on the iPod. So this is why you sometimes have to use that command.
Finally, if you convert MPEG files and get them onto your iPod and find they have no sound, that is another issue...
If the videos are multiplexed MPEG files then the audio and the video are muxed onto the same track. QuickTime, and therefore any application that uses QT like iTunes, the iPod, iMovie (Mac app), etc. expect two separate tracks, one video and one audio. So when you play these muxed files, the video is played and the audio is not heard.

So you need to do a conversion on the file first. MPEG Streamclip is a popular one that comes in both Mac and Windows versions and is known to "repair" this problem.
Again, iLounge has lots of advice and article on converters you might try if MPEG Streamclip gives you problems.

Me too a couple of days ago - same thing. Standard resolution movies and 12 gb free on my iPad. They never startet downloading. Apple support creditet the two movies and removed them remotely stating they would look into it.
Anyone else?

I used to be able to view all cloud and downloaded content. I no longer can.

There used to be option to show items that are in the cloud in your library, but I can't find where that now is (unless it's been removed). You should be able to see what items that you can re-download via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (at the top right of that there should be a 'not on this computer' button)

You can delete from ipad and just leave movie un-ticked in iTunes, if it is one you have downloaded from iStore then I believe that you can't delete but you can hide, then it's available to download again, but I only use movies from my PC.
