Remove URL from bottom of Document

Hello, I would like to be able to remove the document
information that is automatcially generated when a page is created
in PDF. For example, at the very bottom of every page of the PDF
doc, it reads:
file:///C|/jiu/a/cd/08vdec/08noer.htm (1 of 2) [10/18/2008
1:49:23 PM]
Or, if I creadted the PDF from a web page, the url of the
page would be in that location:
http://abc.com/ansdtsa/ssfrgt/mdess/0lip/
(1 of 4) [10/1/2008 8:43:07 AM]
I do not want to see any of that at all. Is there a way to do
that?

You can try removing the header/footer. Go to Document>Header & Footer> Remove.

Remove URL from AppStoreConfiguration

But now i can't figure out how to remove url or make it blank, because with it i can't open store

How can I completely remove pages from a Pages document?

I had a 44 page Pages document, 95MB in size (it had a lot of TIFFs in it). I deleted all but 9 pages, removing 15 of the 18 TIFFs, but found the document was still 94.7MB. Huh? I cracked open the document using Pacifist, and found a folder titled ".iWTrash" that is 78.4MB in size, containing 4 blank-icon documents with numbers (00000001, etc) for names. This is apparently the material from all the deleted pages. Why is it being kept? Is there any way I can get rid of it, reduce the file to the ~16MB it ought to be?

I selected them in the thumbnail sidebar and pressed the Delete key. The second time I did it I noticed there is a "Delete Page..." command in the Edit menu, so I used that. Which is what the Pages Manual says to do. In both cases, a dialog appeared asking if I was sure I wanted to delete page XX, and assuring me that "The section containing this page will be deleted." I don't have any sections in the document (it's all one), but I clicked the Delete button and the pages disappeared—but as I said, the document remained the same size, and when I pried it open with Pacifist I saw there was 78+MB of mystery data in it, in a folder titled ".iWTrash". The leading dot makes it invisible I guess, but I don't see why since it's hidden inside the document anyway.
As I recall, Pages documents were originally .zip files or something easily opened, but I thought I'd read that had changed. The contextual menu's "Open With" gives three possibilities: Archive Utility (which makes the 94.7MB Pages file into a 2.2MB .cpgz file, which when double-clicked recreates the 94.7MB original—now that's compression!); Pacifist (which opens the file so I can see what's in it); and The Unarchiver (which converts the Pages file into a folder of its contents, including the ".iWTrash" folder which is invisible in the Finder because of its leading dot.

It's a PL document.
I suspect you had floating images in a Word Processing document and deleted the text. The images are still there on the removed pages, if you do a series of page breaks they should reappear on the additional pages where you can delete them directly.
Well, no, it's a Page Layout document, and I deleted the pages, not the items on them (half had text, half had TIFF graphics). I tried adding blank pages back into the document, but they're blank; the text and graphics don't appear on them.
But all that data is still in the file, now in "bulk" form, doing nobody any good.
Okay, so I took the 9-page (94MB) document, with the 78MB ".iWTrash" folder in it, and deleted four more pages. But this time I first deleted the material on the pages, then deleted the (now blank) pages. Suddenly the document is a mere 6.6MB! I opened it up, and it has only the material that's visible in the document, no ".iWTrash" folder. The other 78MB has disappeared also. Seems kind of tedious if you have to first delete the material on the pages before deleting the pages; but maybe if you delete all the pages (with the material still on them) but one, then delete the material on the last page and then delete that page, it'll get rid of the whole mess? Complicated, and of course none of this is explained in the manual. Nor can I see any logical reason for it.
Another experiment: I took the 9-page (94MB) document, with the 78MB ".iWTrash" folder in it, and deleted four more pages, by simply selecting them and deleting them (without deleting the material on them first). Now the file is 12.5MB, and Pacifist reveals it has an .iWTrash folder of 5.5MB, i.e. approximately the material that was deleted this time, but it's lost the 78MB that was deleted the last time.
Well, this is all lots of fun, but it still makes no sense. If it's some kind of "dummy's backup", I can't see any way to make any use of it. Otherwise it just takes up space to no use.
The other possibility is images on captured master pages.
Do PL documents have master pages? On which you can place elements that will appear on all pages (such as, say, crop marks)? Seems to me my so-far brief perusal of the Pages Manual indicates not. Which doesn't make sense.

I can't believe I've forgotten how to do this!
I have a popup on the page, created using a behaviour - I would like to remove the URL / Address bar from the top of the windows when it loads - I would also like to remove the desciption at the top as well so it is just a nidy tidy box with my text inside....

If you're using the DW onClick Behavior + Open Browser Window, you would see a properties box with various attributes check boxes. Deselect the ones you don't want.
Or go into code view and find the onClick link to your pop-up window and change the attributes as follows:

How to remove macros from word 2010 documents?

I have some .dot files that I'm using as templates for a while.
They used to have Macros to do some stuff and I started to replace those macros with Add-ins.
What happens is that the macro menus are still there. I tried to remove the macros (using alt+f8 and even alt+f11) but the custom menus are still there! How do I exactly remove those macros and menus from my .dot files?
I am using Microsoft Word 2010.

In addition to what Stefan replied you can also check the attached templates by taking the following steps:
goto File - Options - Add ins - (Below) Manage : choose templates - in the next dialog click on the template and click remove.

Removing Ink from Word 2013 document

I have a word 2013 document with ink markings on it and I am finding it difficult to delete or remove them. I do not have a tablet or stylus, and am finding it impossible to remove these stubborn ink markings. Any help would be appreciated, I have already

Ink for Word is an addon to Microsoft Word that brings enhanced annotation support to Word documents.
Have you tried the option of Reject All Changes and Stop Tracking under REVIEW tab?
On the Review tab, in the Tracking group, click the arrow next to
Show Markup, select Ink. Then in Changes
group, click Reject All Changes and Stop Tracking or Accept All Changes and Stop Tracking in
Accept and Reject list.

Removing fonts from a Frame document

I am using Framemaker 9 with the latest update.
Whenever I save a file as a PDF, I get the message that the Helvetica and Times fonts are not available and are replaced with some other fonts.
I am not using Helvetica or Times. When I do a search for these fonts in the document, I can't find them. I looked in the .mif file and these fonts are not there either.
I find this very annoying. Is there any way to get rid of these fonts once and for all.

I have been getting those messages too and the checking of 'remember missing fonts' mainly does the trick. However, I usually found those (in my case, times font) to be in the generated files such as TOC.

HOw Can I remove faces from the URL

I know that it's in the web.xml file but as soon as i remove the faces part from the file nothing works. Someone please tell me how to properly remove "faces" from the url. Example http:.//localhost:8080/croot/Page1.jsp

Remove the mouseover filename from a PDF document

I'm trying to generate a PDF using Adobe Acrobat X Pro through the Word 2007 interface. When I generate my PDF and mouseover an image, the mouseover text displays the filename of the image file (ie mouseover text="ImageFilename.png"). Additionally, some of these aren't even correct (the image filename is actually a previous revision of the image file and not the current file). I would like to know:
-What data does Acrobat poll to get these filenames. I know it isn't the actual filename since some are incorrect, so it must be some data contained in the word document itself?
-How can I remove this function altogether? There is no significance to the image filenames and I'd rather not have to ensure they all match the document text.
I have searched this and other forums but can't find instructions on how to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not aware of anyway to automatically remove them from the pdf file. You can manually remove each of them but it's always better to treat the source file than to treat the PDF file for changes.
To keep from seeing them without having to remove them all in Word, just use the "print method" to create the PDF file. Print to the Adobe PDF printer rather than using the Save as Adobe PDF feature.

Removing extra spaces from a long document

I have seen a number of find/change and GREP formulas to do similar things. I have NO scripting or coding experience and have labored to understand GREP.
So I am a little afraid to use it as I don't know what all the modifiers refer to (I do have a printout of some neat GREP cheatsheets like Mike Witherell's that I can absorb until I obtain a good reference )
I need something I can copy and paste into either find/change or GREP dialog that will do the following in less than 12 steps (hopefully) without doing something catastrophic like removing all of my paragraph marks (which I almost did using someones GREP expression)
No spaces before any comma, period, exclamation mark, question mark, colon, semicolon
One space only after any of those
One Space before any opening parenthesis and one space after the closing parenthesis
No space after the opening parenthesis or before the closing parenthesis
Remove any double or extra spaces ( en, em etc.)
Remove any commas before parentheses
Remove any spaces after a paragraph mark
I think that's it
I did find this one recently (Maybe Jongware?)

Which from my dim understanding addresses em, en, flush and hair space , nonbreaking space ,figure space,third space--not sure of the rest. Really this is way over my head.

No space BEFORE-One Space after ---period,semicolon,colon, exclamation, question mark,CLOSING Parenth,Bracket,Brace, single & Dbl. quotation marks
Find (\s)([.,;:!\)\]\}~}~]])
Replace with $2
No space AFTER-One Space Before----OPENING bracket,brace,parenthesis,Dbl & single quotes
Find ([\[\{$~{~[])(\s)
Replace with $1
These remove the space before/after but do not automatically add a space after/before.
In the first case, you could add a space right after the '$2' in the Replace With string, but it already may have a space, in which case you suddenly have two. One alternative is to optionally remove it with the Find string (add it as an optional match) and always add it with the Replace string, but remember that this string will only be found if there is a space preceding it. That way you'd only check the space after in cases where there was a bad space before.
So I propose you add another two find/changes to add the space, only when necessary.
One Space After: find
([.,;:!$\]\}~}~]])(?!\s)
replace:
$0 [followed by one single space]
One Space Before: find
(?<!\s)([\[\{$~{~[])
replace:
[one single space] $0
Color-coding with my WhatTheGrep might make it just a tad clearer what's going on in that jumble of codes:

and
(?<!<! \s <!) (1 [ \[ \{ \( ~{ ~[ ] 1)
(Orange is lookahead/lookbehind, blue is a regular escaped character, pink is an InDesign special character, green is normal grouping parentheses, and lavender is a character group.)

Is there a script or any easy way to remove URL's from iCal events? I like to print my daily calendar to insert into a small day planner but I have very long URL's wasting up space.

How to make Safari browser always open a new web page in a new Safari browser window which was clicked from a PDF document URL

Hi
I have a web application which would enable users to see a list of PDF document on the web page and when the user select the PDF document, it will be open by a adobe PDF view
Within the content of the PDF document, it will contact URL links to some other portal web pages which we would like these other web pages to be open in a new browser window, but our testing shows that the new web pages may not always open in a new browser window.
Could you help to advise how I can enforce that new web pages that are clicked from the PDF document can always be open in a new Safari browser window ?

Hello,
In order to change the default reader for PDF files (to not open PDF files with Firefox's internal PDF reader), follow these steps:
#Go to ''Tools'' > ''Options'' (or ''Firefox'' > ''Options'').
#In the Options window, select the ''Applications'' tab.
#In the ''Search'' field, type ''PDF''. You should find ''Portable Document Format (PDF)''.
#On the right handside you should find an ''Action'' column. Use that to select your favorite PDF reader. In order to view PDF files in Firefox, choose ''Preview in Firefox''.
