REMOVE VOCALS FROM TRACKS

DOES LOGIC PRO 8 HAVE A PLUGIN FOR REMOVING VOCALS FROM TRACKS?
Thanks.

Sample if I'm not mistaken that was a tongue in cheek comment, and I got it... so you know it wasn't lost on everyone. As far as the VS880... I'd like to hear the "stunning' results I had one of those way way back and the bottom line is you are taking out frequencies that are panned centre, so ... as pointed out the reverbs and delays are almost never panned centre and won't get removed... but there are a lot of other instruments that suffer from the removal of said frequencies and to my ear ... the results always suck... DNA is just new and even though a revolutionary break-through, I seriously doubt it's anywhere close to that. I mean he did have a break through playing with the math of frequencies but when it comes to trying to separate formants all those other unique elements that distinguish between the sounds of different instruments including voice .. forget it...
At this point DNA won't even separate drums, and for all intents and purposes you could argue that each drum in a kit is pitched differently ... They are sooooo far from separating instruments sharing frequencies not worth mentioning...

If you are talking about some "Karaoke" method using Logic I'll try to offer one. Before that I must say that most of the Karaoke methods are based on reversing the Phase of one of the stereo channel and bussing or merging the stereo into Mono. The result is: killing all Pan Centered in the mix - like Main Vocal, Bass, Kick, SN ect.
The artifacts of the Stereo FX of the main vocal will stay in the Karaoke, cause the FX is stereo etc.
Here is the Logic Setup I can offer to try some Karaoke trick using Logic.
    1. Import a Stereo mix into a Logic Stereo track.
    2. Create another stereo track and duplicate (copy) the Original Mix region to the duplicated track.
    3. Hard Pan L/R both stereo tracks.
    4. Insert an EQ and Gainer plugins into the duplicated track (R).
    5. Set the Output select of the both tracks to a Bus and assign the new Aux Track Switch mode to "Mono".
    6. Open the Gainer plugin and thick the "Phase Invert" Right button.
    7. To keep the "lowend" instruments like the bass and kick, open the EQ plugin and enable the Low Cut filter and try some Hz settings 80-115, or different Q which will sounds better for your Karaoke.

  • Removing Vocals from an iTunes track

is there a way to remove the vocals from a song?

    There are a few options:
    1. Download Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/), open the song in Audacity, Select All (CMD + A), and select Effect >> Utillity >> Vocal Remover in the menu bar. You can mess with the settings if you know what your doing or just select OK.
Note: this method works decently, but not perfectly depending on the song.
    2. Google the name of the song followed by "instrumentals" to see if you find anything.

  • Logic express 8 - removing vocals

    Hi
Does anyone know how to remove vocals from audio tracks like making kareoke versions of existing tracks?

    Hi,
you could try VoxReducer. See http://primo-media.com/?page_Request=Products
But dont expect miracles! It's principally impossible to remove the vocal without damaging the rest of the song.

  • Removing vocals with wavepad

    Hello everyone!
I had downloaded Wavepad to remove vocals from songs, I had already removed vocals once but I forgot how to do it again WITHOUT USING "EFFECTS>SPECIAL EFFECTS>REDUCE VOCALS".
I remember I learnt from a video on YouTube but I do not find that tutorial video again!
Please help me or teach me again how to remove vocals from songs with Wavepad, or with any other FREE application, NOT AUDACITY (it never worked for me!!) :'(
    Merci beaucoup !

Thank you very much for that link ****!
In case that anyone have any idea how to remove vocals from songs using Wavepad (without using "effects>special effect>reduce vocals", or remove vocals using something else (NOT AUDACITY)
    Please let me know...
    Cheers

  • Help with completely removing vocals

I have been trying to remove the vocals of several songs using the "Removal Vocals" command in Audition (CS6). For the most part, it does a fairly good job, but background vocals are still heard, and the lead vocals can still be faintly heard. How can I completely remove the vocals from the song? Thank you.

Just to back up what ryclark said, trying to totally remove vocals from a mixed try is a bit like trying to unbake a cake and end up with separate flour and eggs.
Audition is one of the most clever bits of software I know in this regard but it can't do the impossible.
FYI, at a basic level, voice removers rely on having the voice panned centrally and use a polarity inversion so the centre cancels the, er, centre.  This means that backing vocals panned outside central or reverb effects with a stereo output generally don't get removed very well.  Audition throws in lots of extra bells and whistles to minimise these problems...but, as near as the developers are to miracle workers, they're still only "near"!

  • Removing vocal track from soundtrack

I'm a soccer mom who takes photos of my daughter's soccer games, pulls them into iMovie and puts them together with music. If I'm just doing this for personal use, is there a way in iMovie or GarageBand to remove the vocal track from a song? Is there some other software that can do this?

Nope; vocals are "baked in" as part of the mix: there's no way to "extract" a vocal from a recording..
..except that if the vocal's mono right at the imaginary 'centre' of the stereo, and the music's in stereo, you can - with patience, the right software, or by just wiring one of your speakers back to front and re-recording what comes out of them both - "reverse phase" one of the stereo channels.
That will subtract the vocal from the overall mix, and leave you with just the backing music - possibly sounding a little "thin" or a bit distant - and no singing! (..Kenny Everett, the Liverpudlian DJ used to do that regularly on the radio with Beatles songs to turn them into singalong karaoke tracks..)
So experiment: reverse the phase of either the left or right track of a stereo pair: you can select a left or right channel in the (..now..) rather expensive 'Sound Studio' and 'Invert' it..
..but although the (..free..) 'Audacity' (click that blue link) offers the 'Invert' option, I can't quite see how to select just one channel and invert just that..
    ..Maybe someone else knows how!
But this only works if the vocals are dead centre in the "sound stage" (..i.e; when you wear headphones or stand between the speakers the voice comes out dead in the centre). It won't work properly if the voice is also in stereo and spreads across between left and right.
(N.B: The dining room of the Hotel Valadier in Rome has one of its speakers wired the wrong way round, so Bob Dylan's lyrics and voice are completely missing when they play, erm, is it, er, either John Wesley Harding or Lay Lady Lay..?)

  • How can I extract vocals from a track to use as an acapella?

Hi, just as the title suggests I would like to know how to extract vocals from a song so I can then use it as an acapella using Audition CS5?
Also whilst I'm here, again using audition CS5, how can I determine the bpm of whatever sound file I have open, and furthermore how can I then match the bpm from another sound file to match the bpm of the track I'm working on?
    Thanks for your time
    Dan

Your success with isolating vocals from a song depends almost entirely on how the song was mixed, and will vary greatly.  There is no perfect solution, though many times the artifacts that remain can be minimized within a mix.  Generally, you'll have the best success with music where the vocals are panned to a specific location in the mix - usually dead center, but the tool can be used to isolate any position in the stereo field - without too much instrumentation spreading into this area.  Bass sounds are usually mixed center as well, so you may need to to some additional EQ or Spectral removal of low frequencies after you complete the extraction step.
The tool you'll want to use in Audition is the Center Channel Extractor effect, located under the Effects > Stereo Imagery menu.  Start with the Acapella preset, then change the Extract parameter to Custom for some additional control.  Select the region you wish to isolate (it's often better to isolate passages separately as, for example, verses can be mixed very differently from a chorus) and begin playback with the effect open.  Use the Power button to temporarily bypass the effect so you can note the differences.
Adjust the Phase Angle and Pan parameters to maximize the vocals while minimizing the instrumentation.  Use the Frequency Range parameters to help reduce some of the low-end and high-end mix that is not associated with the vocals.  The two vertical controls on the right allow you to adjust the levels of what's being isolated vs. everything else. (Flip-Flop these to make a Karaoke mix.)  Under the Discrimination tab, the most important parameters will be the Crossover Bleed and Phase Discrimination controls.  You can adjust the FFT parameters under the Advanced tab, though I wouldn't recommend it until you're comfortable with the tool.  You don't necessarily need to know exactly what ever parameter does, but listen closely while you make adjustments and you'll begin to understand how each parameter affects the result.

  • How do i remove the adking tracker from my phone

How do I remove the adking tracker from my iphone5?

There is no known malware capable of infecting an iPhone, unless it has been jailbroken (ie, hacked to allow apps from outside the App Store). If you have jailbroken it, you need to restore it to factory settings immediately to remove the jailbreak, then don't jailbreak it again.
Assuming you didn't jailbreak it, it's definitely not a virus. Where are you seeing these ads, and under what conditions? What makes you believe that it is running constantly and draining the battery?

  • Removing keyframes from motion tracking

I have this video that I perform Analyze Motion to, then Match Move what I want to attach.
Trouble is, the Analyze Motion is just a little bit too jittery for my liking. What I'd like is to do a match move but only have every other (or every 3rd) keyframe used, to smooth out the movement.
Is there a way to do this, or to knock out every other keyframe from the Analyze Motion?

The best way to "smooth" a track is to use the Average parameter behavior. Apply it to the same layer that has the Analyze motion (or any other tracking behavior). Set the "Apply To" parameter to the Track result(s) that need smoothing. I would recommend using one instance for each axis (X/Y) for each track. This will give you better control since in many cases you may need different degrees of smoothing.
Be aware, average reduces the accuracy of the tracks, so you may encounter some drift or decreased accuracy. If you really want to remove every X number of frames, you would need to do this manually in the keyframe editor. Before you do that, I'd make a copy of the tracking beahvior. If you remove keys from the behavior and don't have a duplicate, you'll have to reanalyze.

  • Removing hiss from cassette tracks

Other than the gate, how can I effectively remove hiss from some cassette tracks I imported to GB?

an audio editor like audacity would be a better choice:

but in GB you can try any of the EQs (parametric would be my first choice)

  • TS5459 How do you get vocals from an ext mike/amp to record onto an audio track?

How do you get vocals (from an ext mike/amp setup to record decently onto an audio track? I had no problems doing this with my 2008 IMAC & Logic Pro  Studio 8, but can't seem to do it with my new IMAC & Logic X. Very frustrating.

The Korg 1600 doesn't seem to have a USB connection. It does have S/P DIF "IN" & "OUT", (which I have never used) and a SCSI site. With my older system, I had the IMAC 1st jack go directly to the Peavey or sometimes to one of the 8 imputs on the KORG 1600......so whatever I had prepared on LOGIC &/or ITUNES would play out. The 2nd IMAC jack connected to the  MASTER OUT jacks on the back of the KORG 1600. The KORG 1600 acted as an interface. Vocals via microphone, or guitar, or instruments from the Triton Synthesizer went into the 1600 & recorded onto the Logic project  Also on the back of the KORG 1600 was   MONITOR "RT & LT"  output jacks that are connected to my Peavy mixer that in turn plays out through speakers.
The Logic Preferences/Audio is as follows:        Devices is highlighted
                                                                              Output device: ;Built-in output
                                                                              Input device: Built-in microphone
                                                                              I/O buffer size: 128
Thank you for trying to help me with this and for your patience. . (I'm good with music & other things, but not with computers.)
