Remove vodcast: mp4 file stays on PC

I have found that my iTunes has something of a bug (I use version 6.0.4.2)
When I am finished viewing a Vodcast, I always delete it (as to free up space)
Always when you delete a podcasts or a song from iTunes, you are prompted whether you really want to remove (yes) and then whether you want those files to be moved to the recycle bin (yes)
With mp3 files (And other audio) this works fine.
With mp4 (vodcasts) the flow is the same, but in the end, the mp4 entry is just removed from iTunes, but it remains in the file system!
I hope this will be repaired in the next version of iTunes

Yes, I have noticed this happening too.
Turning off the Album Art panel prevents the problem from occuring.
Still, it's annoying.

  • ** URGENT: ** MEDIA IS OFFLINE for Mp4 files after updating Premiere Pro CC to 8.1

    Hi there,
I upgraded recently to Premiere pro CC 2014 and I am working on a project that is already late.
I was having some small issues then I thought that after upgrading to latest version everything would be fine.
I just started Premiere and opened my project and had an error message, just like this guy
Premiere Pro CC 2014 seems to  Corrupt projects created with earlier versions
Then I deleted the preference files and the project could be opened again.
But the MP4 files haven't opened and has the imagem MEDIA OFFLINE
(and I have LOTS of MP4 files that were working absolutely fine before)
I tried to make links again but it didn´t worked.
I tried to drag and drop MP4 files it didn´t worked too. (unsuported media file)
I renamed the folder ADOBE from \user\appdata\local and roaming  twice.
I tried to start with SHIFT ALT to delete preferences againa - didn´t worked too.
    I tried to reinstall Quicktime.
I tried to reinstall K-Lite codec pack.
I REALLY need your help before formating and starting everything from scratch.
    Thanks and best regards.

So if you got here looking for an answer, this is what worked for me:
(se você quer uma resposta em portugues me avise)
    - Exit all adobe software (including Cloud)
    - Delete preference folder (adobe) in my documents.
    - Rename Adobe folder from \userfolder\appdata\roaming and \userfolder\appdata\local to old.adobe
    - Uninstall any codec package that you might have installed
    - Uninstall Premiere via add/remove programs
    - Look for *.xmp files and remove all
    - Remove rendered files too from your project folder.
    - Restart computer
    - Use a Registry utility to clean up your computer from traces (I use Glary Utilities)
    - Install Premiere Pro CC
    - Restart computer
    - Install Quicktime 7
    - Restart computer
    - Everything should be fine by now.
    =)
    Good luck!

  • I have problem in quicklook for mp4 files in my mountain lion

I have problem in quicklook for mp4 files in my mountain lion os 10.8.2 so please help me what i need to do? but i can view mov,3gp,jpeg files problem is only with mp4 files.... any one help me...

I guess you are calling BDC right after some event which is locking the data or before the commit of previous data could happen. Sometimes data update needs time. You can try using WAIT statement right before it and wait for 1 or 2 seconds and see if it works.
If it does, I would recommend you to check the lock on the corresponding object and when lock is removed update the data as waiting for 2 seconds for a larger set of data will just make the program a bit slow. Depends on the amount of data though, if it is just one set of transaction, you may use WAIT for 2 seconds.

  • Importing problems with MP4 files.

A friend of mine wanted me to make a DVD  with some media files that they sent me (all with .mp4 extentions). I've just purchased CS6 Premuin Pro so I thought I'd try ENCORE to do it with (previously I've been using DVDStyler). However I had problems with importing the mp4 files they sent. Some of the files import OK, but with others I get this error:
Couldn't import file FILENAME, Quicktime and/or the appropriate codec do not appear to be installed.
Now I did have Quicktime Alternative, along with the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack installed. Did a bit of searching and found advice to remove the K-Lite pack and Quicktime Alternative, and update with Quicktime and another set of Codecs (I've installed the Windows 7 codec pack v4.06, as I'm using Win7). However, I'm still getting the same error message when I try and import some of the files. I don't know their origin or what created them as such. However, I did download a copy of MediaInfo and got the following for each type of file.

Just what is the problem here? Why will the first type of file import OK, but the second not, and what can be done about that (do I need to load an extra codec, and if so what)?  The odd thing is that using a program like DVDStyler, I can load those files and actually build a DVD. And yes, I know that's an entirely different program, but it just seems odd to me that an open-source program seems to do something Encore can't (and I'd much rather use Encore to build DVDs). No doubt this is something obvious but I'm a novice with Encore and Premiere, so I'm missing it anyway.

Codec packs, even the "better" ones, do not typically provide codecs that Premiere and Encore can use.
The "problem" file is a flash format (whether it is an mp4 container or not).
"Consumer" type DVD authoring/burning applications, and even more so, all in one apps like windows movie maker etc, may be more "powerful" when you are trying to take a large range of formats and create a DVD with relatively few options. This is not Encore's strength.
Encore will reject almost anything that has flaws it isn't able to handle, but more importantly (once you get to this step), it will treat as noncompliant (and  re-transcode) anything that is not DVD compliant.
My guess is that you need to get  the flash into something that will work better for transcoding to DVD compliant.
I would first try to bring one of the problem files into Adobe Media Encore, and see if you can export an MPEG2-DVD file.
Not that, while there are some less known DVD resolutions, I assume you are going to end up with 720x576 PAL. I wonder what the quality will look like....
If you are just looking to get the files onto a DVD to play on a DVD player, just stick with DVDStyler.

  • Playing MP4 files in published Captivate 6.01

Help!! I have added an MP4 file (7MB) to a slide using Captivate 6 and it plays fine in preview mode but not when I publish the project. I checked to make sure that I have all of the updates for Captivate installed. I am not using a media server as this is a proof of concept for a potential client and I want to just hand them the zipped file to run. There seems to be a lot of issues around this topic. But, I can't seem to see a resolution to this issue.

Please remove the mp4 and re insert it.
Go to Edit > Preferences > Project > SWF Size and Quality, uncheck Advanced Project Compression and Compress SWF File.
Publish the project and select Flash Player version 10.
Extract the zip output, paste that mp4 in the folder (if not present in the folder) and then re compress it again.
    Let me know the status

  • Combining MP4 Files

I want to programatically combine MP4 files. I have seen many options for combining files using a gui but that will not work for my application. Does anyone know of an SDK or something that i can tie into (preferably from within .NET) and access some functionality that will allow me to combine multiple MP4 files into one file?
    Thanks!

Steve Grisetti covers this well in his Basic Training Series on Muvipix.com.
First, you will want to start with a New Project, that matches this source footage 100%.
Import the MP4's (for VHS tapes, a better format would have been DV-AVI Type II)
Drag the two files to the Timeline, in the order that you want them
As you play the Clips in the Timeline View Mode, you can use either the Scissors/Razor Tool, or Ctrl+K to Cut the areas, that you wish to remove
Rt-click on the areas to be deleted, and choose "Delete and Close Gap"
If desired, you can add Transitions
Add any music, etc., using PCM/WAV 48KHz 16-bit (not MP3)
Export/Share to the format desired for delivery
    Good luck, and happy editing,

  • Settings when using mp4 files from Samsung GS3

    Hi,
Does anyone know the settings I should select when creating a New PE10 Project and using mp4 files from a Samsung Galaxy S3 mobile phone?
    Thanks

    Ms Spielberg
If you are using video files from the Samsung Galaxy S3, from what I have read, it offers 1080p up to 30, that being 1920 x 1080 @ 30 progressive frames per second. Is that correct? If so, please consider.
The project preset should match the properties of your source media. In setting the Premiere Elements 10 Windows project preset (new project dialog), the choice of one of the FIip project presets range from frames sizes 640 x 480 to 1280 x 720. So, they would not be a match.
Consequently, I would ask you to consider the project preset if your source media from this Samsung Galaxy S3 are as I have read 1080p30.
NTSC (or PAL as the case may be)
    DSLR
    1080p
    DSLR 1080p30 or DSLR 1080p30 @ 29.97
In Premiere Elements 10 after you set the project preset, then you import your media with Get Media.
    a. If you can connect your phone to the computer, you could explore Get Media/Flip/AVCHD/Cameras, Phones or Removable Drive as I think SG is suggesting.
    or
    b. If your phone files are saved to a hard drive location, then Get Media/Files and Folders.
Are you also asking for export suggestions?
    Thanks.

  • Sony EX1 .mp4 files will not play in Mountain Lion

I have .mp4 files from a Sony Ex1 camera.  They are in the correct file structure in the BPAV folder.  They will open and play in Quicktime 7 but not Quicktime 10.2. (Black screen, no audio.)  They will not preview (black screen, no audio)   They will play in the Sony viewer.  Of course they will not import into a NLE.
This is what Quicktime 10.2 inspector says:
    MPEG-4, 1,920 x 1,080
Linear PCM, 16 bit big-endian signed integer, 2 channels, 48000 Hz
All the files worked fine till I "upgraded" to Mountain Lion
I can play .mp4 files I compressed myself.

VLC will play the AAC audio files. It reports the following as their codec:  MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a) 48 kHz
Incidentally, I get the same results (no audio) when attempting to play the QuickTime audio files on a MacBook Air that is also running 10.8 Mountain Lion. When I boot into 10.6 Snow Leopard on the same computer, the files do play properly in QuickTime Player.

  • How can I save the .mp4 files downloaded from internet to ipad memory so that I don't have to download everytime to view them again

How can I save the .mp4 files downloaded from internet to ipad memory so that I don't have to download everytime to view them again. Also they might remove them from internet so I can't rely on the bookmark to them.

I'm trying to send home movies to my 10 year old nephew who lives across the country. He doesn't have a computer. He has an iPod touch. His parents have computers. But I don't want everything I ever try to have him do result in "you need your parent's computer for this." It's getting really embarrassing. I have converted my family over to Apple computers but now they want to buy iPhones, iPads, and iPods even though I tell them to go Android. It took a decade to convert them away from windows now I'm trying to keep them away from these freedom limited iOS devices and they won't listen. Then it becomes my responsibility to make their iPads print to their fancy pre-airprint color laser jet printers, get home movies onto them, and countless other things. It's driving me nuts.
I have converted these files to a format that the iOS devices will play directly off of dropbox. Now, how do I get the infernal devices to save it instead of play it?

  • Importing .mp4 files leads to no playback

Hey everyone, thanks in advance for helping me out.
I recently compressed some large (15GB) .mov files into smaller (500 MB) .mp4 files. Then I moved them into FCP, and now they won't playback at all. I can't play the clips back in the viewer for some reason.
    Any advice?

I only tried compressing them to .mp4 with the hopes that smaller files would = quicker rendering.
Why on earth would you think that? This is like saying, I dehydrated my carrots because I thought it would equal quicker eating. Compression (like dehydration) removes mass (and throws away useable stuff). It is designed to pack material in such a way that it is easily transported. But, to use it, the file must be decompressed (rehydrated) into a playable format. This is why all the formats are called CODECS (COmpression/DECompression algorithms).
Some codecs do not screw around much with the material, sort of like simply putting your carrots in the refrigerator. They leave the material in an easily manipulatable format. Other codecs (like mp4) heavily alter the material (more like running the carrot through a juicer). You can play it back easily because the software decoders for playback are efficient, but you can't cook with it. To reconstitute it takes lots of CPU cycles and your computer isn't happy spending CPU cycles on such a mundane task. It wants to do important stuff.
    Clear as mud, eh?

  • QT playback of h.264 mp4 files

OK, I have spent the last two weeks making mp4 files of my TV DVDs to watch at school. Now, my PC won't play the videos properly. The playback is jittery, with the video skipping and the audio matching it. I play the same file through VLC media player or QT on my mac, it plays perfect. Anyone know how to fix it?

this fix worked for me.Right-click the program icon on desk-top and choose run-as, then uncheck protect my computer from unauthorized program activity. I am not sure if this stays that way after a log-out, because every time I check it, it is checked again. I just do it every time before starting the program. Good Luck!

  • Using f4vpp.exe with MP4 file results no audio

    Hello,
I'm recording MP4 webcam videos using Flash 11.1.102.63 and publishing them on my FMS 3.5.6.  When playing back MP4 files using my Flash player, both video and audio works perfectly.
However, I also need to make my MP4 files play on other players (like Windows Media Player).  As I found out quickly, the MP4 file encoded by FMS is not playable without conversion.  After some googling, I found that the post processor tool f4vpp.exe allows to flatten the MP4 file so that it plays with Media Player.
The problem is that F4VPP seems to remove the audio part in the file.  My MP4 file consists of H264 video and NellyMooser audio (which is the default audio recording codec with Flash).  I also tried using Speex codec for audio but still no sound after using F4VPP.
I've seen some comments around about this bug.  Unfortunately, the download page (http://www.adobe.com/products/flash-media-server-family/tool-downloads.html) refers to the tool as dated of June 2009.  Is there an updated version with a fix?
Otherwise, I'm trying to reproduce the work done by the tool using ffmpeg.exe.  So far, the closes I have been able to do is this:
    ffmpeg.exe -i input.mp4 -c:v copy -ar 44100 -async 1 -sameq output.mp3
The problem is that the video encoding seems loosing something, as the output video has blocky/pixelated parts in the video that seems random.  Probably related to something in the conversion, but I can't figure out what.
Can anyone point me to a solution?
    Thanks.

I have the same issue!! Adobe, help!

  • Editing 16:9 mp4 files from .mod ....what easy setup to use?

Hi everybody....I am trying to get started on an edit of some 16:9 mp4 files that I created from .mod files using MPEG Streamclip. I can now import the files into FCP and chose DV NTSC Anamorphic as the easy setup, and am having two problems for starters:
    1. The canvas window is showing me the edit as a 4:3 letterbox
    2. When I try to render clips, I get the message: "Render Error: Insufficient Disk space. Free up space with render manager and retry?" ....but even if I try to gain space by using that manager there is nothing in the list to remove anyway.... and so I am unable to render clips.
    Any suggestions?

#1 - FCP doesn't edit mp4 files. That is not an editing codec. Convert to DV/NTSC using MPEG STREAMCLIP.
#2 - if you drop a clip into the timeline and have to render, that is a BIG CLUE that something is wrong. You should never have to render just a base clip if everything is setup right. That means converting the footage to DV/NTSC, and using the same settings in FCP.
#3 - Where is your media stored? And what type of SCRATCH DISK do you have? do no use your system drive to store footage or render to.

Hi Raymon, it sounds like file corruption, I doubt there is a real font file called that.
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive & clear caches.)
If still no change after a regular boot, then open Font Book in Applications & see if you can find it there, or have Font Book Validate all fonts.
