Remove WaterMarks / Stamps

Hi,
I have added watermarks to a couple of thousand files in our DB - using API, these are status watermarks that should change when the relevant object changes status. I originally intended to do it by keeping the source files (without watermarks) and using them as base for the new watermark, but apparently the source is not always available and i have to remove the watermarks.
We have Acrobat 8.1 pro, and can remove the watermark easily through UI, but I can't find the way to do it through API.
I tried and got false on:
pdApp.MenuItemExecute("COMP:RemoveWatermark")
Anyone knows how i can do it?????

thanks for the quick response,
Actually i have both "addWaterMarkFromText" with status date and "addWatermarkFromFile" with the status stamp. I tried the OCG approach:
get the OCG's
Dim OCGs As Object
OCGs = jsObj.getOCGs(0)
For i As Integer = 0 To OCGs.length - 1
If OCGs(i).name = "WaterMark" Then
OCGs(i).state = False
End If
Next
It finds the watermark OCG on the first page but doesn't turn it off.
keep in mind that i do want a watermark OCG - but a new one with the new status
I saw this problem in quite a few forums - but never found any acceptable solution

  • How to edit / remove watermarks after the document is digitally signed

how to edit / remove watermarks after a document is digitally signed ?

    Hello Dave,
    Thank you for your reply.
I have 2 things to mention.
(1)It is possible to do so if I open the document in Acrobat 8.
    (2) Is there any work around solution for X-pro ?
I create a draft document and send it for approval with “draft” watermark.
I receive it back after approval with the approver’s signature.
Then I have to remove the “draft” watermark.
      How can I do it?
    Any suggestion will be appreciated
    Thank you.

  • Is there a free software to remove watermark from a pdf document?

What are the free softwares to remove watermark from a PDF document ?

No. The watermark is placed there by the owner of the document. Contact them. If you are perhaps referring to watermarks that appear on scanned documents, you need to purchase the scanning program to remove those. In as much as your information is pretty sparse that's all I can advise you on.

  • Removing date stamps from photos

    Hi,
Can anyone please advise if there is a quick and easy way to remove the date stamp from photos.  My brother has a heap of great landscape shots he's taken over the years, however he has always had the date stamp set on his old camera - he knows better now and won't use it in the future. How do can he improve the quality of the photos he already has by removing the date?
    Cheers

    Use the magic extractor tool.

But you need to do the same for each of your single image.
No way to do for all in one go except for resizing the images in one go via File->Process Multiple Files to that much size which can remove date stamps.

  • Non removable watermark

    Dear all,
Does anyone know how to place a non-removable watermark in a pdf (for me, non-removable means that even a guy using Acrobat Pro will not be able to remove the watermark).
I need to distribute several pdfs to several guys and be sure that they will not be able to remove the watermark – or similar). I don’t want to use password protected pdf’s.
Does anyone have other solutions for this kind of problem?
    Thank you in advance,
    Maria

Your combination of requirements cannot be met. What is wrong with setting password security?

  • Removing watermark from editable pdf

I am trying to remove a watermark from a client's file to prepare it for translation.
    Background:
I don't have access to the original file and need to remove the watermark so that individual letters will not get mixed in with body text.
The watermark is internal version information for the client's use. It is not a copyright nor is it pertinent to the content.
I am using Acrobat Standard 7, but could move to another computer that has some version of Acrobat Professional. Or could conceivably upgrade to a newer version (though I am under a time constraint).
    The files are unlocked.
This watermark apppears to have been created in the original software, which is not an MS Office or Adobe product.
Asking the client for a file without the watermark might be time-consuming as our contact may only have access to the pdf as well.
I cannot send files out or post examples.
For the first few short documents, I was having luck using the TouchUp Text tool to click on and delete on each page.
For those, clicking on the watermark selected the text with a box around it so that it was clear that only the watermark was selected.
Now I am working in a long document that seems to have no division between the watermark and body text.
I can delete individual letters if I can restrict what I pick up, but selecting the watermark also grabs the text below it.
Deleting actually removes body text from the pdf, which I don't think I've ever seen before. (Curious.)
I understand that removing watermarks should not be easy, but I have to get the text without the watermark somehow.
Other solutions create extra work and more deadline pressure.
    Any other possibilities?

I was about to message you directly. Thank you for taking the time to consider this.
I am able to delete text without redacting it.
If I work in the standard mode (not advanced edting), my options are only to comment and mark up text, which is exactly what I am expecting from a pdf.
But if I switch to advanced edit options, I am able to delete text.
Which would be great if I could delete the watermark only, but I am able to delete content!
Entire section of the TOC just disappeared, which is something I haven't seen happen even on editable pdfs.
I do not want to delete anything except the extraneous version information sitting on top of the text I need.
I usually work in a Word environment, so I want to use those abilities here.
If I could just make the watermark something along the lines of "locked" or "hidden" it might be enough that it would not be picked up with the text.
I've started the process of asking for a new version from the original, which very likely lives in a different time zone far away.
I was just hoping for a faster solution.

  • Remove Watermark

I need to remove watermark from a pdf already created. I have Adobe Professional 7.0. The instruction said to go to watermark and click remove but I don't have the option.

    Noel,
I apologize for the inappropriate forum.
I am not removing trademark information from pictures.
I am removing internal watermarks from a client's file in order to prep it for translation.
Asking them to remove the watermark may involve many changes of hands and is last-resort only.
I am totally in agreement that rights to work should be respected at all times.
I am simply (desperately) searching for the correct solution to my problem.
I will originate my search in the Adobe Forums and see if I can find a place where pdf issues are discussed specifically.
    Sorry for any offense.

  • How do I remove a stamp from favorites?

How do I remove a stamp from favorites? (Acrobat XI Standard)
I testing the Stamps in the Comment portion of Acrobat and I fid that when I select one it ends up as a Favorite.
If you have 2 or more you can remove 1 of them but if you only have 1 you can not remove it.
Is there a problem with me - - or the software?

It’s easy to remove the “Approved” stamp from the Favorites list on the Stamp pull-down menu in Acrobat.
    1) Go to: C\Program Files x86\Adobe\Acrobat10.0\Acrobat\plug_ins\Annotations\Stamps\ENU
    2) Copy the “StandardBusiness” PDF file.
    3) Paste the copy of the “StandardBusiness” PDFfile on your Desktop (this is a temporary location).
    4) Open the copy of the “StandardBusiness” PDF file from your Desktop.
    5) Delete Page 1 (the “Approved” stamp page).
    6) Save and close the copy of the“StandardBusiness” PDF file.
    7) Copy the “StandardBusiness” PDF file from your Desktop (the one you modified).
    8) Go to: C\Program Files x86\Adobe\Acrobat10.0\Acrobat\plug_ins\Annotations\Stamps\ENU
    9) DELETE the existing “StandardBusiness” PDF file from that folder.
    10) Paste the “StandardBusiness” PDF file you copied from your Desktop.
    11) Close Acrobat.
    12) Reopen Acrobat – the “Approved” stamp will begone from your Favorites list!
    13) By the way, the “Approved” stamp will, also, be gone.
    14) You can, then, DELETE the “StandardBusiness” PDF file from your Desktop.

  • Removing watermark

    Hi everyone,
I'm kinda new to photoshop, have CS5.
I have a jpg with a watermark on it that I can't seem to get rid of. It's the sew-classic.com across the page in the image. I was hoping that it would come up as a separate layer in photoshop, so I could just delete it, but it's all on one. Any ideas on a simple way to get rid of it? If it comes to zooming in and going over it with the background colour it won't be worth the effort!

Looks like the Watermark is doing its job. If you want the image without the watermark ask the owner for a copy for your use without his watermark.
Hee, hee, good one - you got me there! This is a (slightly) interesting case. The page is from an old book (1954), which is out of print, but possibly still copyrighted to the Singer sewing machine company. Someone has scanned it, watermarked it, then put it on their website as a locked pdf, that you can't print out. So if you want to print it, or view it without the watermark you have to buy a clean copy of it from them. Perhaps bothering to scan it makes them the owner in their eyes, but I think it's pretty shady to scan and sell someone else's book. If anyone makes money from it, it should be the  company who released the book. So, on principle, I decided to try to get rid of it. If it had been as simple as clicking 'remove watermark' in acrobat, I would have done it. But it's definitely not worth the effort of adjusting it page by page in photoshop! It was an interesting technical challenge, though, and I learned a fair bit.
I'll reluctantly have to let the forces of capitalism have the victory on this one

  • Can't remove watermark...

I have a PDF that I need to remove what looks like a watermark across each page, but using the "remove watermark" feature in Adobe X Pro does not remove it. What else can I try to get rid of
what looks like a watermark on each page?
    Thanks,
    Andy

This could happen if the file was locked, so you couldn't edit it.
If it was editable, this is how it would look when you select the object. There would be a rectangular bounding box around it. When you hit Delete, it would disappear.

  • Removing Bate stamping (Adobe 8 Professional)

    Case:
Our production guy, bate stamped a couple of pdf's. Some attorneys, then redacted the pdf and saved them.
Our production guy, had to remove the bate stampes on the pdf's and create new ones, but some of the pdf's would not let him do so. He got the following error message:
"Acrobat cannot find any headers or footers in this file. If you see header or footer information, it was not added in Acrobat ro by an Adobe PDFMaker, and cannot be detected as such."
Any I deas on how to get the bate stamp off the pdf's?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Hi,
As you are mentioning that it is not working for  "some of the pdf's", so it means that issue is specific to some files. Can you please tell us more about the content of such files or what is specific in that?
Also can you try to remove Bates Number by following controls.
    1) Header & Footer -> Remove
    2) Header & Footer -> Update. Remove Bates Numbers.
    Thanks,
    Vishal

  • Removing date stamps placed on images by camera

When taking some photos with a Nikon digital camera, the button that places a date stamp on the image as the picture is taken was inadvertantly on.
Now I am trying to remove this data from the image and am wondering if anyone knows a fast way of doing this.
I can tediously remove the pixels involved but then can't seem to fill in the gaps with something else. The usual replace color capabilities don't seem to work either.
    What am I missing?
    Thank you.

You can use the Date Removal Tool - no, I am only kidding here.
Unfortunately, you have created an image with the date/time as part of your image. There is nothing "below" this. The best that you can do is try and recreate the area of the image that WOULD be below that part of the image.
As has been stated, the Clone Stamp Tool, and also the Healing Brush/Patch Tool will go a very long way. If one uses these at a high magnification, it does require some hand-work, and a good eye, but can be done.
For what it is worth, the video folk are broken into two camps. Half want to "remove" this, and half wants to "add" this, regardless of which camera they used. If only they could get together, and all would be happy.
Hints: look closely, so slowly and small, and be patient with your efforts.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

1 - it is good to go through the iPhoto Tutorials - http://www.apple.com/findouthow/photos/#retouch
2 - after you take the tutorials just play with it - Command-z will go back one edit - photos menu ==> revert to original will remove all edits and "revert to the original"

  • Remove watermark/image from existing PDF?

I need to be able to remove a watermark from existing PDFs we have stored in a database. This is a legitimate requirement (rather than trying to remove trial software watermarks) as we have > 10 million PDFs stored with a "copy" watermark that we now want to store without the watermark.
I want to write a service in .NET which can do this programmatically.
Is there any Adobe SDK to support this.? if YES..please help.!
    Any samples appriciated..
    satish

The first issue you will face is trying to determine HOW the watermark was
added.  If it was done in a standard way by a well written tool, then it
will be easily to locate and remove.  However, if not, you will have your
    work cut out for you.
Either way, you will not be able to use .NET with the Acrobat SDK for this
    type of low-level operation.
