Remove WebClips from iOS device

Hello everybody,
have pushed a WebClip to an iOS divice, where it's showing up correctly. Now went do the ProfileManager again, and want to remove that WebClip.
After hitting the "" and sending that profile to the device, in profilemanager it's not showing up any more. Unfortunatelly it's still on the iPad
Also the option "not removable" was set when sending the clip to the devices, I can remove it on the device itself
Have tried it with more WebClips, and sometimes it's working, so the Icon is removed from the iOS device, and sometimes it keeps getting display on the screen.
Any idea how to remove it?
PS: Setting up the Clip again with the same name and URL, is just bringing up a second icon

Did you happen to find a solution to your problem? We are seeing the same behavior over here with MDM OTA.
We've also found that:
1) an icon gets left behind when updating a webclip payload from fullscreen to non-full-screen
2) two icons are visible for a short time when toggling from non-full-screen to full screen.

  • Can I search email archive on iCloud server from iOS device, or can I only search what it has downloaded locally?

Can I search email archive on iCloud server from iOS device, or can I only search what it has downloaded locally?
I currently have an iPhone and iPad, and am soon changing over to a Mac. When that happen I'd like to try to see what I can migrate over from the Google ecosystem to the iCloud ecosystem.
    1) Currently I have the Gmail iOS app (a webapp container) that can search server-side of several years of email archive.  Can iCloud do this using the iOS native mail application?  Or is the search just limited to what the device has downloaded locally?
    2) Do I have to use a @me.com address for the full iCloud email sync to take place between server, Mac, and iOS devices?
Believe it or not I've read quite a bit about the iCloud services, but the answers to these questions were far from clear.  Many thanks for the help.

    2)  iCloud only syncs email between .me/.mac addresses.  For other accounts like google, you set up the account in the mail app and if they're IMAP accounts, you can sync between the google server and any devices you have defined that account on.
I'm not absolutely sure about 1) since I haven't had to search going back years - I use MailSteward for that on the mac.  On my iPhone/iPad, when I go into a mailbox and the emails are not immediately available, it downloads them.  I suspect for a search, you need the emails downloaded.

  • How can iTune-synched photos be deleted from iOS devices if the iTunes computer is no longer available?

How can iTunes-synched photos be deleted from iOS devices if the iTunes computer is no longer available?
This can happen because the iOS device is on travels distant from the iTunes computer, because the iTunes computer is on travels distant from the iOS device, because the iTunes computer has failed permanently, because the iTunes computer has been stolen, etc.

The only possibility I can think of, is to consult with an Apple Store Genius.  See if there is some kind of Apple proprietary software or diagnostic tool that can do it.
I do not think you want to, but you could go to Settings-General-Reset-Erase All Content and Settings.  If you decided to do that, you might be able to restore from a previous backup when you get home.

    I found the solution .,,,
    1) click on your current plan and press done your payment details will appear .
    2) the first section is your plan and there is a botton "change" click on it
    3) it will take you back to the upgrade options
    4) press on the downgrade options
    5) choose the 5 GB and the done botton will be enabled
    6) click on it  you'll back to the step number 2 , here read carefully you'll see that your changes will take effect after the current plan expired with the date.

Sorry. You need to rephrase the question or post in your native language. This doesn't make any sense at all.

  • How To : Sync playlists from iOS device back to itunes - Windows

How To : How To : Sync playlists from iOS device back to itunes - Windows (May work on Mac too)
NOTE - THIS WILL ONLY WORK IF YOU HAVE THE MUSIC FILES ON THE COMPUTER ALREADY
If your like me and format your computers only to discover that you've lost all those time consuming playlists that you spent hours on, well your in luck.
Without any Third-Pary programs it's possible to save those awesome playlists, and pull them back from the blink of oblivion.
Step 1 - Connect iDevice to your computer and then open iTunes.
Step 2 - Locate your iDevice on the left side bar on iTunes under the heading 'Devices', click the arrow on the left of the devices name and select a playlist.
Step 3 - Right-Click the selected playlist and choose 'Export playlist', Save it as a Text file.
Step 4 - In iTunes, up the top click 'File' then locate Library, move across to 'Import Playlist...', Select the playlist you just created and click open.
Step 5 - Your playlist will appear on the left side bar under the heading 'Playlists', Select the playlist and attempt to play one of the songs contained.
Step 6 - You would have been prompted that iTunes doesnt see the file, select 'Locate' and then go to the location of your music and locate the file.
(Sorry dont have an image for this one due to having all my music already found)
Step 7 - Doing this once will find all the music in the playlist given that it's in a similar location of the song you found.
Congrats you have successfully moved a playlist back from oblivion

    There's a different method.
    1. On iTunes -> Devices -> <your device> -> Summary -> Check Manually manage music and videos.
    2. On iTunes -> Devices -> <your device> -> Summary -> uncheck Manually manage music and videos.
    done.

  • HT201302 How to importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to my computer with Windows 8?

myHow to importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to  computer with Windows 8?
Nothing indicating iPhone 4s folder for images and videos in Win 8 anymore after plugged in USB cable to PC with the iPhone 4s. Nothing pop up anymore asking if I want to backup photos  / videos to my PC (used to pop up in Win 7).
Where can I find this folder in iPhone 4s?
    Thks!!

You can do it via your computer's iTunes. If you are on iTunes 11 on your computer then you may want to re-enable the left-hand sidebar via View > Show Sidebar (option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), which might make it easier to navigate and my instructions may make more sense.
To sync photos, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes (if you've enabled the sidebar), and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
If you haven't enabled the sidebar, then from your library click 'iPad' at the top right of the screen and you should get a series of buttons along the top of the screen, including one for Photos

  • How can I unsync email so deleting from one device will not remove it from all devices?

How do I unsync email so deleting from one device will not remove it from all devices?

Sounds like you have an IMAP/Exchange mail account (vice a POP3 account). By design, an IMPA/Exchange account synchronized your mail boxes among different devices. That behavior can't be changed.

  • Heartbleed: Remove Certificate Authority from iOS device

    Hi,
I am in the process of changing SSL certificates after the Heartbleed bug. As I wasn't able to find a reliable cross platform way to revoke my internal certificates (e.g. Chrome doesn't check CRLs), I'm planning to reissue new certificates based on a new internal certificate authority (CA) and to remove the old CA from all systems. This should render all previous certificates as untrusted.
This is easy for Linux, Windows and OS X, but how can I do this for iOS 7 devices? I believe the CA certificate was originally deployed to the iOS devices through a configuration profile. However, when I go to Settings > General > Profiles, there is no such profile listed. The iOS Safari shows my internal HTTPs pages without certificate warnings, thus the device must somehow have remembered that CA as trustworthy.
    Here are my questions:
How can I view and/or modify the trust settings of CAs on iOS 7 devices?
Where did the configuration profile with the CA go (I know that's a little weird to ask here) and why is the CA still active?
Why are internal Https pages still trusted even if there is no configuration profile for that?
This absolutely puzzles me! I always thought that for a custom CA to be active on a iOS device a configuration profile was required to be present. But that does not seem to be the case.
    Thanks for your help!

The workaround seems to be the following:
Go to the iPhone Configuration Utility
    Install the profile (again)
Go to your iPhone and deinstall the profile that was just installed in Settings > General > Profiles
Certificates signed by that authority are not trusted anymore.
I consider this to be a major security problem in iOS if there is a way that profiles enable CAs and then get lost sometime later (maybe through an iOS upgrade?).

  • I have an Ipad and several Ipods. We have deleted some songs from our devices but they still show up gray shaded. They don't play but I'd like to know how you remove them from your devices completly?

I have several Ipods and an Ipad. We have all deleted music from our devices and the problem we are having is the song itself is gone which is what we wanted but the song title is still on the devices. It's grey and it won't play but I want to know how to remove the deleted songs completely off my devices.

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Apple Pushing This User Away from iOS Devices

Little by little Apple is pushing me away from the iPhone. After reading that Apple is forcing Amazon and Barnes & Nobel to not sell books through their apps, http://preview.tinyurl.com/44ju2n7, I am just about at my last straw. It started with the difficulty in managing my music in iTunes, not being able to transfer my music from my iPhone to my laptop if I have my desktop set up as the primary machine. Then the iTunes update 10.4 that removed all ability to backup your media because Apple wants you to pay for their iCloud service. Now they won't let some magazines and newspapers along with Amazon and B&N to sell their own products via apps on iOS devices.
I was thinking about picking up an iPad 2 but not anymore. Not after the iTunes 10.4 update and the new measures to keep Amazon and B&N from selling their products through their iOS apps. I shop frequently at both those sites and make regular purchases with through the iPhone app.
Yes, it's your right to set up your rules on your devices as you see fit. But Apple must also expect that users will eventually get sick and tired of being forced to go through them for all of their media needs and turn toward devices that offer more freedom in choosing how they consume media.
So I am looking forward to seeing what Amazon will bring to the tablet market and also in what new smart phones are coming down the pike. I think I may have given my last dollar to Apple for awhile as I seriously contemplate giving up my iPhone due to the draconian measures that Apple is taking to restrict the freedom of their users to choose what media outlets they want to patronize.

You do not have to update Apps. If you have an iPhone you should know this.
If you read my post above you will see that all the Kindle App did was transfer you to a browser session with the Amazon web site. This is something that is easily bookmarked in your browser and, since it is the standard way to purchase Kindle e-books, it will not be removed from the Amazon server.
Note: With the Kindle App you never purchased books through the App. It was always through the browser.
For Amazon at least his is a flap about nothing.

  • Photos taken from iOS device not showing up on Macbook??????

I have photo streaming turned "ON" on my iPhone 5, iPad Air and Macbook Pro. For some reason or another I have been having problems getting the pictures to show up on my Mac. The only time I need for this to happen automatically is when I am listing on eBay. For example I took a picture of the item that I want to list from my iPhone 5. Within a few minutes the picture shows up my iPad Air. I am using my Macbook Pro to list the items. It took over an hour for one picture to come over. I called Apple and without having a device that is under the 1 year contract or Applecare they push this support forum on you or pay $19.95 for them to walk you through it.
Before anyone replies, I have made sure that I am signed in under my apple ID on all three devices and have photo stream selected as well. All of my devices are updated to the latest software. Being that I am having problems with my Mac it is version 10.9.4 running Mavericks. If anyone has any definite answers to this problem I am having I would appreciate all the advice I can get.

No offense, but there are not definitive answers when it comes to iCloud.
    Reset iCloud.
On your iOS devices, tap Settings > iCloud > Photos then switch Photo Stream off then back on.
On your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Photos then reselect it.
Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the data.
